Today we learn about a relative newcomer to the Texas wine industry, a small family-owned urban winery in San Antonio called Whisper Path Cellars. This small venture has a tasting room set up right in the middle of their warehouse-style production facility. However, they've been growing quickly and are already eyeing further properties to build a new location. The greater San Antonio area has access to a really fun wine destination near the heart of downtown in historic Hemisfair Park. Re:Rooted 210 Urban Winery is an eco-friendly tasting room that specializes in providing Texas wines and even making their own Texas wines in both kegs and bottles. A true pioneer in the Texas wine industry, Gary was instrumental in starting the Texas Hill Country Wineries and was one of the first wineries producing great wine in this state. He passed from this life last week and his presence and impact will be sorely missed all throughout the Texas wine industry. Texas Under Vine salutes this magnificent winemaker and human and all that he has done. I was privileged to have him as the second episode ever on my brand-new podcast. For this episode, I ventured to Dripping Springs to visit the recently named "Texas Hill Country Winery of the Year" location, Solaro Estate Vineyards & Winery. I went a little further down the road, this week, in Burnet, TX, to a vineyard and winery that offers a tremendous terrace overlooking a magnificent view of the Texas Hill Country. That location is Torr Na Lochs Vineyard & Winery. They make 100% Texas wines and have one of the most spectacular overlooks of the beauty that the hill country in Texas offers.

I move a little further North, this week, to another great destination in the Texas Hill Country, Perissos Vineyards. Located in Burnet, TX, just South of Inks Lake State Park, this estate vineyard offers beautiful views, an old-world feel, and a gorgeous tasting room for enjoying great Texas wine.

Welcome to the first Bonus Episode for Texas Under Vine.
