Grab a tissue before you listen to this most amazing story of the heart rock guy. I meet Tom Ballard at the Pinners Conference a week or so ago and boy does he have an amazing mission. You will be touched and moved and motivated and yes smiling (after you cry a little bit) once you hear his story and how he got to be known as, the heart rock guy.
His current project is to take 6000 of his heart rocks to families in Uvalde, TX. He is working with local church groups and other organizations to coordinate a major project of healing. Himself and other volunteers will reach out to each family and have them pick out their own heart rock that speaks to them in hopes it will help in their ongoing healing process.
You can check out more about Tom Ballard and show him some love and even look at maybe helping support his business or his mission, at his Instagram account @takeheartcreativestudio
You can also find more info and watch videos on how Tom creates and works his magic while cutting and polishing thousands of rock hearts on his Instagram account.
A local TV station in Utah did a story or mini documentary on Tom that you can watch on his Instagram account as well.
Listen to the end where there is a fun idea for our activity this week, can you say paper hearts!
As always if this touched you and you would like to hear more stories like this and other info on the power of the smile please subscribe to the podcast. Also, we continue the discussion over on a private Facebook page, same name, Your Smile is Your Superpower that you can request to join.

Smiling on the phone can definitely change your tonality, you become more enthusiastic, and your tone may take on a higher pitch. A study concluded that people could hear/tell if the person is smiling on the other end. Apparently, we can differentiate between a smile and a non-smile. The tone of your voice conveys a huge part of your message and since 84% of your message over the phone is your tone of voice, making sure that smiling tone comes through is imperative. It is very impactful in how the listener is going to hear your message, how receptive they will be to your message and what the listener is going to hear your message.
The use of this information can help you to communicate more effectively and more positively whether you are dealing with a customer service situation or trying to communicate with a friend or family member on the phone. So next time you pick up the phone or dial out make sure you check to see your smile is in place and be ready for a whole new experience!
