This podcast is about us, humans. Who we are, our nature, what makes us happy and fulfilled ... and what does not, no matter how hard we try. And worry not: Even though it might not sound like it at times, in the end, it is good news!
In this episode, I am going to talk ubuntu, a Zulu word. It does not have a direct English translation so, instead, it comes with a little story to illustrate its meaning. And so I am going to re-tell that story here.
After revealing the absolutely insane idea of what it means to be in God's image -- namely, accepting your personal responsibility for everyone and everything -- I'll try to clarify what it actually means in practical terms. Which, again, though far from easy, is by no means complicated!
By the way, the whole idea of personal responsibility for everyone is not mine. Fyodor Dostoevsky, for example, explored it at length in "Brothers Karamazov". It is also the meaning of the Zulu word ubuntu.
