Preacher Dad

This podcast is by about the things that are important to dads. Raising good kids. Being good husbands. Keeping up with Star Wars..... you know, the important stuff. But it is also about the things important to Preacher Dads. Those are the guys that also care about what the Bible says about raising kids, being a good husband, influencing the culture, and making a difference that will last even after we pass away. Yep, I'm a Preacher Dad. And I want my relationship with Jesus Christ to permeate every part of my life, including how I relate to my wife and children. He tells me about Himself in the Bible, and I believe Jesus has addressed every part of life in his Word. Let's see if we can find a current issue or family issue where the Bible does not apply. Join me! You may find some sermons occasionally. In fact most of what I say could be classified as a sermon. (Ask the kids.) But at the heart I hope you will find the Word of God applied to the issues of our current time.

We do not know the power of prayer. We think of prayer as something we do when we've tried everything else. It should be our first choice! It was the power of God through the prayers of righteous Elijah that stopped the rain in Israel for three years. It was to his Father in prayer that Jesus turned in his most difficult moments, especially in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Listen to this chapter from the Preacher Dad's new book "Battle Plan" and be challenged.

In recognition of Black History Month we are highlighting some of the heroes in America's past that happened to be black. These are stories that are often neglected and overlooked by modern schools because they contradict the accepted narrative pushed by the Progressives and Left-Wing Racists of our nation.

Listen as the Preacher Dad shares incredible stories of bravery, heroism, intrigue, and patriotism from our nations early days. (There is even a rich white European who becomes an abolitionist!) Did you know that America's first double-agent was black? Where was the first white congregation to call a black man to be their pastor? From a slave who became a spy, to a pastor that proclaimed the gospel, to a brave soldier at the battle of Bunker Hill, these men are heroes.

Gather the kids around and listen as a family! There is something here for everyone.

God get's glory from thanksgiving for grace, but it requires suffering for that grace to be known. Listen to this encouraging message from 2 Cor. 4:15.

There is a documentary getting a lot of traction out there concerning the Duggar family, IBLP, and Bill Gothard. Myself and two friends were heavily involved in that ministry a few years ago and have a few things to say. In this episode we discuss our perspective on IBLP and the documentary that is causing a stir, and we believe this perspective to be Biblically balanced. Whether you were ever involved in the "Institute" or not we encourage you to listen and be reminded of the need for Redemption and Relationship.

When I say that marriage is not black and white, I’m not speaking about gray areas within marriage, or the need to compromise, etc. No, I’m talking about the fact that some well meaning and otherwise reasonable and Biblically founded people teach that marriage between “races” is forbidden in Scripture. This teaching is not founded […]
