Last week, on Thursday, I travelled home for a wedding of one of our relatives. The groom is on our side, but I don’t know him except for his younger siblings and his parents. The groom’s mother was taken care of by my late grandmother when she was young. She went to school, graduated and married under her roof. So, we became family.
When I was told about the wedding, I felt excited and decided to attend, particularly to represent my siblings who weren’t available. It was a sweet wedding ceremony, and everyone who came had enough to eat.
The engagement was on Friday, and above is a snippet of the event centre that was used. Food wasn’t served on time, and so I was hungry. I decided to step outside; maybe I could get something to snack on before the arrival of the meal. I found roasted corn and bought some for my cousin and me.
Thirty minutes later, the food was served. We ate pounded yam and egusi (melon) soup. After some minutes, I left the hall to rest at the hotel we were lodged in. The next day was the wedding. The church wedding happened at 10 am, and before then, everyone assembled at the event centre to eat breakfast before leaving.
| | | | | |
The church wedding went amazingly, and then after two hours, we moved to the reception to eat and watch the rest of the event. The video is a recording of the dance by the asoebi ladies (bridesmaids) and groom's men, followed by the latest couple, Timileyin and Oluwaseyi. It was fun to watch and I enjoyed the programme.

I learnt something new yesterday and am excited to share with you guys. It's Hive Learners Creative Sunday and I thought to share my creative work with you.
It might not be new to some of you because you are experts and know about it, but for someone like me who's just getting to do this on my own, I feel it's a big achievement for me this year. If I am called to share my achievements this year, this wouldn't be excluded among many others.
A few days ago, @nkemakonam89 shared a link to a free tutorial on video editing with me. I joined and was determined to take the lesson seriously. It's for 2 weeks and just started two days ago. On the first day, we were taught 'Video Editing' and the softwares used for it.
The first two introduced were the Legend Maker App and Inshot. With a few practical examples, I decided to give it a try and that's the result in the video above.
What I did was to turn words into motion with the Legend Maker App and Inshot.
The Steps and Process
The first step was downloading the Legend Maker App (I have Inshot already).
| | | | | |
After installing the app, I opened it and it brought me here. Here we have 4 options: Start. Videos. Gifs. Privacy.
The "start" button is when you want to create new words from motions. The "GIFs" are where your created GIFs are stored. The "Videos" are where your created videos are stored. The "Privacy" is where the privacy policy is written.
| | | | | |
To create a new one, I clicked the "Start" button which brought me to the first image. I typed my words I want to make into motion, then click the [✅️] button which takes me to the next image.
I click the number 3 option and it brought me to this last stage where I picked my choice of theme and background to suit the purpose of my work. There are lots of themes and background colours to choose from when you swipe forward.
When I was done, I clicked the download option, which is the last icon. There are two options: Save to Video or GIF (whichever you like). Then it gets downloaded to your gallery.
I repeated the same process for the rest of the words, and after I was done. I opened the Inshot app to do the necessary things.
I merged the videos together. The laptop image in the video is mine, while the rest of the images used were generated from ChatGPT, including the "Hive Blockchain" logo I used.
| | | | | | |
I added a voice-over using my voice to speak in the background. Then added music to flow along, and I exported. The result is what you see in my video.
Did I try?
This is just the beginning, and seeing my work, made me excited. The next day, we were taught Whiteboard animation which I practiced at 12 midnight today, and I love the outcome even though it was of low quality.
I was told to subscribe to get a higher quality, but that would be later, when perhaps it's something I will be making use of, particularly to generate income.

I don't know, maybe because I'm just scared to order something online or I just prefer to go to a physical store and get my stuff without having to complain about it or just to save me the stress from lodging complaint and waiting for a rectification.
But do you know it's possible you get something at a physical store and still get scammed? Or end up being sold a fake product? No place is actually safe if you'd think of playing it safe. One way or the other, we've all fallen victim to scammers and getting what we ordered versus what actually came. I have had hilarious laughs in the past with numerous "what I ordered vs what I got" scenarios, and perhaps this added to my anxiety and made me decide never to order something online just to avoid stories that touch.
There was a time a student when I was in school complained to my friend how she had to change it for them online when she ordered something on Jumia and when the item arrived, she felt sad because it wasn't something she thought she saw. It was a bag! She'd been deceived to think it was a big bag just from a picture, and it looked very beautiful. But when she got it, it was very small.
I actually had the same experience last year, but it wasn't something I ordered through any of these platforms. I got it from a colleague I met during my service year, and she was into selling online. She'd posted this beautiful bag, the picture made it look big, and I thought it was cool because I don't actually like small bags. Like, how do I buy a small bag at an expensive price and it wouldn't even contain my phone, charger, or even Bible when going to church? And all that would go in is my key? I don't get it.
So, I ordered the bag and paid my money. It was my first time patronising her. But when I got my bag, I couldn't stop feeling sad, but I didn't want her to know because she saw it as an honour for me to buy from her for the first time. Well, I'm still using the bag but not to my satisfaction, because how would I pay 8k for that small bag? Eww.
Alright, fast forward to the present.
| | | | | | |
I actually faced my fear, and I think it was kind of cool. I ordered some items from Jumia last month. They were a blood pressure monitor, blood sugar level monitor, and a rechargeable BT intelligent weight scale. These were items I needed for my body checkup since going to the hospital every time wouldn't be possible and also to save cost.
When I ordered them and saw the amount, I became scared again. Like, how do I do this for the first time? What if they carry my money away? My over one hundred thousand naira. But with a strong mind, I pushed forward. My mind was made up, and if my money was gone, all well and good. There's nothing I would do. But within me, as I was filling in the details, my heart was beating. I made sure every detail was filled in correctly to avoid any mistakes. I even had to call a friend to confirm how to go about it.
| | | | | |
And so, my first order on Jumia happened, and I was told the items would be delivered and ready for pick up within the 9th and 14th of April. Last weekend, I got different messages saying my three items were ready for pick up at the University of Ibadan Bookshop. Guess what? There were two options for payment: pay online or pay on delivery, but I chose to pay on delivery, which means it's until I get to see my items that I would pay. Actually, I was just trying to be safe. But wait, why the heart racing when my money was still with me? Lol.
But this post is all about my first order online. I could have ticked the option to be delivered at my doorstep, but no, I needed to go out more. I wanted to know new places, and so, I got to know the location where my goods were.
And the fear of ordering for any item has disappeared. I realized it isn't so hard, but I took the step. I made my first order, and I felt good about it. Right now, I have added some items I found nice to my cart, and when I'm ready, I will order for them.

Woooh! I must say it's been a long while since I have done this last. I can't remember the last time I sang on Hive, and this was something I enjoyed doing back then until life happened. Yes, a lot has happened during that time, but I am always grateful because I get to do this again.
Thanks to my friends who actually pushed me to return to singing, I decided to test my voice again, and this was due to creating the time for it, and yes, I want to start doing this every week again. So help me God! Amen 😁
I've always been behind the scenes listening to different entries for the Vibes Web 3 Music Competition every week, and all I would say is, "Princess, when are you coming back?" I do appreciate every winner weekly, and I can see the excitement in them every time winners emerge and get those amazing prizes.
Truth is, this Vibes music competition is creating that space for Web 3 to keep soaring and also to appreciate every artist. Thanks to the team behind it, @lordbutterfly and @verbal-d, for making this consistent and also encouraging even outsiders to try the Web 3 space, showcasing their skills and talents, and being rewarded for their efforts.
So, for this week 32, I decided to do a cover song of "You're Still God" by Phillipa Hannah.
Why did I choose this song?Sincerely, I have been through a lot and most people would think nothing is going on with me but the difference is how I only choose to talk to God rather than sharing my problems with everyone except for my siblings and a few trusted friends, amidst all these, I trust in God because there's this one truth I have hold onto which is that He still reigns and still God.
This song, when I listen to it, keeps my hopes high and always reminds me that no matter how huge my problems are, God is always there. He is present every time and that's why He is the Omnipresent. This song is a soul-lifting one that, anytime I switch to it, gives me a kind of courage to keep doing my best while also waiting on God for the best.
I chose this song as my first since I have been here because of the various meanings I give it. I also encourage my listeners that while they might think their problems are impossible to overcome, God can level them to the ground, and all we have to do is believe in one truth: He's still God, and He reigns forever.
Here is the chorus of the song, while the rest can be found by clicking this link.
Though I can't see what's before me
I know that I can trust Your heart
And this one truth will be my story
You still reign and You're still God

Last week Friday, I satisfied myself with a long time soup. When I had to flash back to the last time I ate this soup, it was over 15 years ago. I could still remember those days when mom would either cook this soup for us or when she would send us on an errand to go buy her food (Amala) at a popular canteen joint. She would emphasise being served Gbegiri soup with it, and if not, I shouldn't buy it at all. She loved the soup and made us enjoy it, too, as a family.
Abula: mixture of gbegiri, ewedu and stew
Gbegiri is a soup made with beans and this is why, in English, it's called "beans soup". It is a healthy soup rich in protein. There is another name for it in my tribe called "Abula" which is the mixture of Gbegiri, Ewedu and Stew. This is what I prepared on Friday to satisfy my cravings and I did enjoy it with Amala, a Nigerian solid meal made with yam flour. The next day, I tried the Gbegiri soup with Semovita as suggested by my sister and it turned out to be a delicious combination 😋
Gbegiri is an easy-to-prepare soup, and the ingredients aren't very expensive. Most people prepare this soup in different ways and no matter how you prepare it, you will still enjoy the outcome.
So, let me take you through how I prepared mine.
Ingredients for Gbegiri:
Beans | Palm oil | Dried pepper | Seasoning cube | Salt to taste | Water
All the ingredients in the image are for Gbegiri, ewedu and stew.
The first thing I did was to soak the beans for a few minutes to get them soft. Then went ahead to peel and remove the shaft. After that was done, I transferred the peeled beans to the pot and sliced some onions to cook until it was very soft.
| | | | | | |
When the beans are soft, I mashed with a broom till it's smooth. You can also use a spoon or spatula instead of a broom. Then next was sieving to remove the particles.
| | | | | | |
I transferred the sieved beans back to a pot and added palm oil, seasoning cube, salt and dried pepper. I stirred and cooked for a few minutes, and the Gbegiri soup was done.
I moved on to prepare my ewedu soup. It is called jute leaves in English.
| | | | | | |
I removed the jute leaves from the sticks and washed them thrice. I put the locust beans and potash in a pot where I boiled. Then, I poured my jute leaves into it until it was soft. I mashed with a broom until soft and cooked for a few seconds.
The next thing was preparing my stew.
| | | | | |
Finally, Gbegiri soup is ready with others served with my Amala.
You can also view the whole process in the video I made.

It was a fun day and time with my childhood and best friend as we tagged along on the 18th of January which was last weekend. My sister had recommended that I go to the event, which was happening in Lagos, and I had to travel down to the city while also informing my friend beforehand to get ready. The fee was #16,000 ($9.5) and I paid for two; my friend and I.
The venue was over a 3-hour journey from my friend's place, and we had to take off as early as possible so we weren't hooked down by traffic. We arrived at 12:55pm, and the game was to begin at 1:00pm; we arrived early.
When we got there, we were given a hand band to identify that we came as a team (D'unwinder) for the game. One of the hosts, who is also my sister's friend, took us to our seats and brought a small game pack for us to entertain ourselves while waiting for the others.
| | | | | |
I didn't know how to play this game until the host taught my friend and me. At first, I thought it was a hard one but along the line, it became simple and fun. The idea is to remove individually without letting the others fall. My friend lost twice. After that, we moved to playing the ludo game.
| | | | | |
There were lots of games played by everyone. Many came as a group which was much fun than coming alone. We did a variety of games which are in the video. You can entertain yourself with the games and enjoy.

I promised yesterday to share the photos of my friend's wedding once they send them. The photos came in last night, and I had to bring them here. The video is a compilation of the bridal shower session only. This is going to be a pretty one, so, get busy feeding your eyes with those cute shows 😍
In my country, when an individual, most especially the lady, gets wedded, we say she is out [off] of the market. She is off the market and is now hooked to her betrothed husband. Such is the case with my friend.
Her name is Tosin and she got married to a Yoruba guy, same from her tribe and town. I've known them together since we started the journey at the same university. We are three friends; the other one got married two years ago and here comes Tosin, who is now legally married to the love of her life.
The preparation started in April this year when she told me of her introduction ceremony. I wanted to go but she told me not to bother because it's a long trip from my place. I insisted on coming because she is my friend, but she declined and said I should make it to her wedding instead which is the important thing.
Two months later, she talked about doing a bridal shower and the native outfit called "asoebi" we would be putting on. I spent lots of money on this stuff, but I wasn't bothered because she is my friend and also a one-time expense. I kept looking forward to her day and also praying for the success of the wedding.
The day finally came and I was happy to see my friend after over 2 years of graduating from school and just talking on the phone. She looks so different from the last time we saw and I'm glad she is doing fine. Our third friend couldn't make it. Even though she'd planned to show up, she lost her mom last week, and it was a painful one for us. Her mother had been sick for some years now and didn't survive it. How I wish I could see her again but I guess fate had different plans for us.
Princess and the bride
I was on the bridal train, and it was a beautiful moment on Friday night as we came together to pray for our friend and wished her the best in her new home. It was an emotional one for me because I kept wishing it was me on the day, but you know, all I have to do is wait for my time. Everyone took turns for different tasks; I was called upon to do the opening prayer; we danced, sang and had an amazing moment together with the bride.
Enjoy the video and photos.

It was on Thursday, this week that we got a message notification from our Local Government Inspector (LGI), the one coordinating the corp members in the LGA in one of the western regions, that there would be a nationwide sanitation day on the 1st of June, 2024. As we were being told, the order was from the Director General for NYSC (National Youth Service Corps), a programme mandatory for Nigerian Graduates below thirty (30) years old.
For each state with 774 LGA, all corpers were to partake in this programme and as supposed, everyone did their best. June 1st fell on Saturday which is today and also the beginning of a new month, we were told that all corpers in my state and LGA should be present on the day by 7 am so we can help serve our country and humanity. I was annoyed at such a meeting because I had plan resting after the stressful work during the week. I planned to sleep all through the day and of course, eat too.
This was something I couldn't escape from as it was also included that our monthly clearance would be done after the sanitation. This was just a trick to lure every corper to the said venue because, if not for the clearance, the majority of us, yes, I included myself, would not get out of our homes.
I dragged myself to the venue which was the biggest market in the town where we would be helping out to sweep and make the environment clean for the traders. The sanitation was supposed to begin at 7 am as told but we started at 8 am after our LGI had given his speech, dividing each of us and assigning a particular location for each group where we would make it clean and do our best.
This is our LGI giving his speech
We all converged differently to our assigned duties and did all we could. Everyone in the market including the elderly ones appreciated our efforts, prayed for us and were happy that we helped out with the process. At first, the whole thing was kind of boring but a colleague in my group spiced things up with his humorous behaviour and words. We laughed while sweeping, those with rakes raking, those holding the dustbins for us to pack the dirt inside, we all enjoyed the fun of it.
After the whole stuff, we met at another different spot where the LGI ordered us to write our names down as attendance and then go home. We knew the clearance was just to make every one of us come for sanitation because we weren't daft to understand that such biometrics process cannot be done in the market thereby disturbing the market sellers from selling their goods. Besides, there was no space allocated for us to do those things, still, we came, enjoyed the fun and went back home. I used the opportunity to get some ingredients to make my meal the following day which is on Sunday so I don't run out of them when I need them for my delicious meal 😋.

Here comes the Vibes Web 3 music competition week 7. The Web 3 music hosted by @lordbutterfly keeps growing and more people keep coming in bringing their talents to the blockchain. As usual, it's Princessbusayo again on the chain with another sweet cover song by Alec Benjamin, titled "Devil Doesn't Bargain". This is one song that has been a favourite since I added it to my list some weeks back.
The song was recommended by a friend on the chain @funshee where she narrated an experience of a friend going through a toxic relationship in which she took her time to advise her and suggested that her friend listen to this song. I was curious to listen to such a song that did magic to her friend of opening the truth to her and what I found changed the concept for me.
There is no one that hasn't experienced a bad relationship before and sometimes, it's always hard for the victim to let go of the relationship when the love has blinded their eyes. They knew the relationship was hurting them but they turned deaf ears to what people were telling them and remained in it thinking they could change their abusive partner. When a girl is dating an elusive partner — one whom you don't understand his movements, one who quickly changes his words without standing his ground, it is necessary to leave such a relationship because it's obvious he doesn't love you as his only intention is to abuse and maltreat you like you mean nothing to him.
Listening to this song has made me value myself and understand that I don't deserve to stay or be in an abusive relationship or fall in love with a guy who doesn't respect me. When a guy is being abusive, elusive and there is no truth in what he says, the devil takes over him and you know what? The devil doesn't bargain, he doesn't compromise at all but to inflict pain on an individual. The devil tells lies and makes you suffer in his hands.
A lot of ladies are in a toxic relationship and they aren't ready to leave with the belief that they will change him. No, you can never change a bad guy, he will never settle for you but keep treating you like trash — no, you deserved better. Move out of such a relationship. This song keeps me stronger each day I listen to it and helps me value myself, making sure not to settle for less or for an abusive man.

It's Vibes Web 3 music competition and week 4 already by @lordbutterfly
The good thing about music is how much one goes into learning new songs, rehearsing, and then practising them just like the way it is sung. I decided to do the cover of "All of Me" by John Legend after it was suggested to me by a friend, @hopestylist and I thought to try it out. Although this is not a new song that I'm just hearing for the first time, but taking my time to decode the lyrics and their meaning makes it more fun to me.
Just like this song, it is one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard of as there is truth in everything there. Love in those days is not how it used to be now as the world is filled with lies and pretence and this doesn't keep a relationship moving because there are cracks in the wall of love for some people, any further crack could break the wall down.
The song admits that there is no perfect relationship anywhere as there would be issues, but one can overcome them as long as both partners accept each other and give it their all. Love isn't just a feeling; it is a sacrifice and the willingness to be committed and dedicated to your partner. Loving your partner means making them your priority, seeing that they are happy all the time and you will discover the joy in your heart.
As long as two lovers give themselves to each other, nothing will ever come between them. This also means taking away all egos and setting aside each other for perfection. Love means sticking to each other no matter how bad they feel, no matter what they are going through, and being there for each other knowing that they are unstoppable.
Lastly, when it comes to love, it takes giving it all in exchange for deep love and eternal happiness with each other that matters.

Hi vibes community, it's me again for week 3 of the music competition going on the Hive blockchain by @lordbutterfly and it's another opportunity to do something I have always loved to do — singing. So, I did a cover of the song "You Mean to Tell Me" by Tatiana Manaois. This artist became my favourite last year when I was finding some songs to listen to and I stumbled on one of her songs titled "Like You" I immediately added her as my favourite because the song was so inspiring and beautiful to listen to all over again.
Image generated on Picsart app
This particular song I covered is a love song where the artist described how her love life was until she met someone who changed her perspective when she thought there wasn't true love and had given up on love. This fellow decided to stand by her and help her understand that true love still exists.
For some days now, I found myself singing this song, humming while in the bathroom, toilet, in kitchen and even during service in church yesterday and I quickly tamed myself because I should be listening to the sermon instead of singing one love song in the house of God 😀 Yes, I have decided to give love another chance and I don't know when the right guy would show up and make me realize true love truly exists. Someone who would go down on one knee, and ask me the question: will you be my wife? And saying "Yes" to his proposal so we could be together forever in love. I am earnestly and patiently waiting for the day to show up. I believe true love still exists.
When I saw how focused I have been singing this song these past few days, I thought of practising it more to present for this week and I'm glad to be able to do something nice to it, even when it feels as if I wouldn't be able to especially those parts that went so fast without taking a breath. I'd thought my voice wouldn't go far because I don't know how to stretch my voice for a long time as I would develop some cranking tone along the line but this went smoothly, though I had to stylishly swallow my spit in between to keep me flowing 😅
Now that I have done justice to the song, it makes me feel excited about it and how I was able to go that far without much error in it. I guess I am proud of myself, right? 😉
Here are the full lyrics of the song and I hope you enjoy my performance. The week 3 Vibes Web3 Music Competition is ongoing and will end on the 8th before the next week follows. So, do well to join in if you are sure of your singing talent 😉🙂

Here comes Princess Busayo for the week 2 Vibes Web3 Music Competition. I chose the song "YOU SAY" by Lauren Daigle.
Image generated from Picsart and designed on Canva
Why the song in particular?
Music has a way of encouraging us and lifting our moods when we feel like being overwhelmed with so much going through us. There are many times I have asked myself who I am really and most times, when I am almost drowning in a world filled with insecurity, fear of the future and the worries that keep filling in my inner mind about what I truly want to be in the next few years, then suddenly, there would be like an echo of a voice telling me, "you have all you need and just know who you are especially in Christ". When I hear this word, I feel so back to reality and that alone would motivate me to keep moving while trusting the process.
I have found myself looking into the mirror and soliloquising speaking life into my existence, this is because I do bring myself down, trying to limit my abilities, but when I speak positive words into myself, I feel calmed again while remembering my identity. You know, it is not easy in a world where you feel oppressed by what is happening around you, seeing how well you could have become if life had been nice to you and if life had treated you fairly, but somehow you still dust yourself off, never to allow the world's noise to get through you but to keep living and enjoying what you have at the moment.
I have found solace in music especially the ones that have the intention to encourage you, one that understands your mood at that moment and wants to just say that particular word which would change your perspective, where the paradigm shift happens, and you find yourself smiling again after what seems like hours worries because you eventually believe there is hope somewhere and in the end, there is always light that will shine forth for you.
"You say" has been that song that has kept me moving. Lauren Daigle is an artist I so much admire and respect because of how she adds life to her song and makes it to put a smile on someone's face. Whenever I listen to this song, I feel hope again. Even when I hear voices trying to shut me up when I feel like praising myself and appreciating what I have, there is still this 'still voice' that would remind me of my identity in Christ. In my highs and lows, though it has been rough and not easy, I still get to understand that someone loves me even when I don't feel anything about it. It is the reason I sing this song again to remind me of who I am and also to let someone out there know that they are loved, and no matter the voices telling them they aren't enough, God is always there to fill those inadequacies. He is ever present and all you just need to do is to trust Him. So when you feel insecure and doubtful of certain things in your life, just relate to God about your worries and see what happens next.
Lyrics of the song:
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to knowMore can be found here and if you want to join in this week's 2 Vibes Web 3 music competition, just head straight to this post for more information. Here is my X (Twitter) link to the video I made ❤️Thanks for your time reading. Hello to all the beautiful musicians in the community. This is Princessbusayo with her participation in the week 1 Vibes Web 3 music competition that is hosted by @lordbutterfly. It is with pleasure to join other amazing musicians to bring out my creativity in singing which is something I love to do. This is a big opportunity for every musician to bring in their best while making Hive thrive with Web 3 music.
I love singing and when I do, I try my best to make it more passionate because it is a way to express myself and describe how amazing God has been. The genre I have always loved to flow with is Gospel songs. Aside from writing and teaching, singing is a talent I have even though I don't intend to go big into it or try to be an artist in the future. I only sing to express myself and my mood. Another thing about singing is that it leads me to explore new songs that have become part of me to always listen to. When I was told about this competition, I thought about it, not for anything but due to some challenges I am facing where I am but I decided to go against all odds and present my entry since singing on Hive isn't a new thing for me.
Vibes Web 3 music community is trying to make this a weekly thing and as it is tagged, this first month is a pilot month and will determine if this competition should continue to run weekly. Yes, it would be a nice thing and I believe many musicians here on Hive would want it to as we want to see the Web 3 blockchain thriving along with amazing musicians who are helping to create more awareness about Web 3 and to bring more people onboard.
Without further ado, I did a cover song titled "Even When It Hurts" by Hillsong Worship. Most of my followers would attest to the fact that I love these musicians and how they compose their songs which are always alluring to the spirit and give one hope even when it is tough and hurtful, especially at this time when things are crazily up and this is something that will continue to persist till something is done which we do not know yet.
The song, "Even when it Hurts" captures the intense pain in the journey of the human spirit and the sacrifice they had to endure in the trials of life with Godly wisdom and Biblical perspectives.
Why I went for this song is how beautifully the lyrics are written and how it makes sense to the ears. I love songs that lift one's hope up and help us move closer to God even when things aren't clicking well as we want. Despite what is happening, we still need to remind ourselves how great it is to praise the Lord, knowing fully well that our faith will be made stronger in Him when we do that.
Also, I love the rhythm of the song which makes it interesting and exciting to listen to over and over again. It was the rhythm that made it easier to sing along to and to make a cover of it while sharing it with my friends online.
Here is the lyrics of the song:Take this fainted heart
Take these tainted hands
Wash me in Your love
Come like grace againYou can find the full lyrics here I hope you enjoy my performance in the video. I thought this week would just go like the others where I had rough days which made me unable to participate in the weekly Hive Open Mic edition, but on the second day of the week when I saw the theme, I decided to squeeze myself in and present my entry. At last, I did something after going through my playlist finding a song that could suit the theme for week 199, titled "Brasil" but found none. This is all about going all the way from Nigeria to Brazil and I saw it as another way to explore other country's music.
Image designed on Canva
After searching for long on YouTube, I settled for this particular one which also sounds easy to rehearse and do something amazing. I chose the song titled "We Believe" by a Brazilian music artist — Leonardo Gonçalves. I so much enjoyed singing this song while doing some rehearsals and coming up with a cover version for it. I worked on this song while at work because I knew there wouldn't be time for me to do that at home. I practised at work and came home to present it with my laptop which I used to play the instrumental beat while my phone was used in recording.
The song teaches that we should keep on believing in the Trinity — God the Father, Son and Holy Spirt amidst trials and temptations. In a world where desperation of all sorts has kicked in, there is the broken generation, but the only foundation and salvation we have is to believe in God who can make a way for us. In a world where many things have taken different stages and it seems we wouldn't be able to persevere, especially with issues with high inflation, kidnappings, crime rate etc, the song is a reminder to keep believing in God while hoping that things would be well for us again.
The lyrics also acknowledge the challenging times that are filled with doubt, despair, fear and uncertainty. Despite these circumstances, we are made to know through the song that there is a steadfast belief in Jesus Christ as our saviour to bring deliverance to His people. There is also a need for our faith to keep standing strong and not waver in believing in the power of the Holy Spirit who brings new life and hope to believers in times like this.
This is the song that reminds us that having solid faith and believing in the Trinity can help us overcome difficulties and guide us in a life filled with love and joy. I hope you find peace in your soul while listening to this powerful song.

Life is good when there is money. This was a phrase I used in my previous post and that is the truth. Sometimes, there won't be money to do what you want and other times, there will be money and you won't even remember what you need to do until the money is gone out of your hand, then you remember what you need to do. In another case, the money is available and then you go for what you want. The second instance relates to me because many times I would have the money but wouldn't even think of it. My sister said to me one day, "You need to go for a pedicure, see how your legs are, you should treat it to look good." That word stuck with me till the end of last year as I determined to get a pedicure for the first time.
I want to live a good life and when there is money, why not? Life is always beautiful when you get to do some things that give you joy and happiness. I wanted to make myself happy and so, I planned this day.
Early this month, I posted in a WhatsApp group where all Nigerian corpers in the same town I am that I was looking for a pedicure location and within some minutes, I got someone who DMed me and shared a contact with the caption that 'she is good'. I immediately chatted the contact up and we fixed a date for the service which was yesterday. After work, I left for the place and the service began where I started videoing the process which took more than 10 mins. The whole process of the pedicure treatment lasted for an hour because the lady took her time to give me the best treatment.
She started by pouring boiled water into the bowl which wasn't too hot and not too cold; not even warm at first. Then, she added some ointment to the water and told me to dip my two legs into it for a few minutes. I felt the warmness in my legs and didn't want to remove the legs again 🙃
The work began after I removed my legs and she continued by using blade to remove the dirt from my feet, then scrubbed them with something that looked like a stone and applied a cream to make it smooth. Then after she was done with those, she told me to place my legs back in the water and this time around, the water was so hot that I couldn't put them as I was afraid (you will see it in the video). I felt the heat entered into my body as a result of that. She said it would have been hotter than that if there was electricity and her generator wasn't working, she had to go through the manual service which also drained her energy.
I could feel my legs massaging in the hot water and that made my two feet feel softer than normal. When I touched it to confirm how it worked, I couldn't believe those were my legs as she had done something like magic. I felt satisfied with her work. She also told me about facial cleaning, spa, and body massage which I promised to always patronise her once in a while till I finish my service. Truth be told, I love the first-time experience. The pedicure cost #7000 which is like 6-7 HBD.
This is something I would want to experience again and I pray there should be money available to do it. Next time, I would try manicure and facial treatments too.
All images are mine.

I have been planning my birthday since last year January when I started saving for it. My wish is to celebrate this day in a grand style according to how I defined it; making new hair which I did two days ago, going for a photoshoot as memories, visiting the beach for the first time in Lagos city, preparing nice delicacies with my friends and family (siblings). These were my plans last year as I even informed everyone who I would be inviting to the big day.
Of a truth, I wanted to mark it big but there is a saying that "man propose, God dispose". Humans may have big plans but God has the perfect and best plan for us anytime. My thought was that if my NYSC service should come fast, it would give me the chance to travel down to Lagos while I leave the job to my younger sister who has always been a good event planner but things changed and plans were put to a halt.
One of the things is that my younger sister was given a free scholarship to study for her Master in the US which she had travelled out of the country last year in December, hence the inability to plan my birthday. Well, I had plan B which was to settle down first where I am posted to before my birthday so I could have enough time to celebrate my birthday by preparing a nice meal in my place, and since I don't know anyone yet in this new city, I thought of doing it all alone while glorifying and appreciating God for His faithfulness of my 30 years journey in this life.
Right now, I have gotten an apartment but have not moved in yet as I need to clean the place up, travel to bring my stuff to settle down finally for my service. With all these, my mind isn't about the celebration but about getting settled first before I can think of anything else. My birthday came when things were like this but just like a friend said, there are still more birthdays to celebrate in the future. I do want to mark this birthday because of the big age I clock today (30yrs) It hasn't been easy but God has been helping me so far.
Last year September, my younger sister chatted me up and asked what I would like for my birthday. I was so excited and told her to give me whatever her heart wanted for me. When she came home in December, that was the last time I would be seeing her unless she decided to return to Nigeria after her program which I am sure she won't want to do. Hehehe. She stretched forth her hand and handed me these packages and I was so happy.
I got a pink bag, some earrings and a wrist chain. I got a laptop too but I would want to include it as a birthday gift because it came separately and with a reason. The laptop is a screen touch model. I was speechless when she handed that to me and said she wanted me to have it as my birthday gift. I couldn't have asked for something else because these were more than enough from her. Though I'd expected something different, she came to surprise me with these.
As at the time I am writing this, messages are dropping as I receive prayers and wishes for my birthday. I believe more are still coming and I want to thank those who took out time to wish me well including my family in the Neoxian city. Thank you so much.
On this birthday, I want to do a little giveaway with my friends on Discord as a way of fun and celebration to make the day worthwhile for me. The event will be held tonight by 9 pm and will last for an hour or more depending on how lively it is. See you in a few hours in the Neoxian Discord channel and let's have some fun while celebrating my day.
Thanks for your time reading. Looking forward to your interaction.

I am saying Happy New Year in the Hive Open Mic Community since it's my first song for this year 2024. So also, happy weekend everyone. It is another beautiful moment to showcase what we are good at which is singing and for this week 195, the theme is "Friendship." I chose the song "One Friend" by Dan Seals.
A capture of myself and my cousin.
This song by Dan Seals is the one that talks about and celebrates the value of a true friend and one who is loyal. The song was released in 1984 and still has a deep meaning in today's world. The song shares the significance of having someone who can stand by you through thick and thin. It reminds me of my childhood friend and she best fits into the lyrics of the song. I couldn't have asked for a true and wonderful friend like her. We still connect today and our friendship is more than 17 years old which I am grateful to have and cherish. In a way, this song is dedicated to her.
The lyrics explain the essence of friendship, emphasising also, how finding a true and loyal friend, one who remains steadfast during life's ups and downs is rare. Just as the lyrics of the song, it speaks of the bond which a friend shares with someone, portraying them as a source of support and comfort. When you have real friends, it makes life interesting as they journey through life while fighting battles together. Some friends sacrificed a lot of things for you just to be the best and these are people we want to share life's experiences with while also talking about the bad moments, knowing fully well they are there to give us a helping hand and support to calm us down.
The song also speaks about having the best companionship in navigating life's trials, with the assurance that having just one real and loyal friend is worth more than being surrounded by fake ones who only pretend to care but leave once they find you in overwhelming challenges.
Dan's soothing voice brings out the melody and arrangement of the song which complement the song's message, evoking a sense of warmth and nostalgia. Listening to this song will make us feel relieved and be fully aware that there are authentic friendships out there, even though they are rare, one should appreciate them and never let them go.
Kindly follow through the lyrics slowly to understand in-depth the meaning of the song while also appreciating that true friend in your life.
Thanks for your time listening and sharing your opinions in the comment section.
Looking forward to your interaction.

The year 2023 is almost coming to an end and in a day and some hours, we will be getting into a new year 2024. God has been great to every one of us and it's good to appreciate Him all the time for His unending love towards us. For this week, the theme is "End of December" and it looks like an open theme to choose whatever song to present. I'd wanted to do something different before, but not until the last minute of my recording, I decided to feature my younger sister who is also the last born of the house. Hehehe, she is already a grown-up lady and will be moving to 200 level in the university by January.
I settled on some random songs which are three, one of which she knows well but the other two, I had to rush her to practice. In case, you might notice some mistakes from her, just know I didn't give her much time to learn as I was trying to make things quick because it was getting busier than I could even think of.
Looking at the whole year, it has been God and one thing I am grateful for this year is my relationship with Him. God is the same all the time and with Him, there is no impossibility. The first song says "You are God, from beginning to the end, there's no place for argument, you are God all by yourself". God never changes and this is something I have relied on throughout my journey from the first month to the last month which would be ending soon. He has been faithful and when I look back, all I see is His grace.
The second one is "Goodness of God" from Elevation Worship. This is one of my best songs for me this year. I got to know about this song some months back and it has been one song I always sing anytime because it makes me understand how loving God is. God has been so good to me and it is one thing I am ever lucky for since my journey with Him. Sometimes when I think of a lot of things and how I get answers to most requests, all I can see is God's love and faithfulness. He has never disappointed me and this, I am super grateful for.
The third is "See how far you've brought me, Lord, I've come to worship Him." If you notice, these songs are my way of appreciating the Almighty for bringing me thus far to this moment. Even times when I wanted to feel sad about my situation, I still think about those who aren't privileged, but I do. This is something I have always held onto, to be grateful for everything. No matter what I have, what I have not, still, it calls for thankfulness to make God know that I am not an ingrate.
These are the three songs that came to mind when I was looking for what to present and with my sister accompanying me in this, we are grateful to God for loving and keeping us. I hope our songs melt your hearts this day and for that, we are wishing you all a prosperous new year as it begins soon.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

It's another beautiful weekend and also just 2 days to Christmas. Who is excited already? I am feeling this joy in me knowing that we would be welcoming a new year in a few days and I can't wait to embrace it with me starting a new life in a new state while serving my country.
This week 193 with the theme "Yeshua", I did a cover song titled "Rescue" by Lauren Daigle. Lauren has been one of my favourite artists who knows how to deliver inspirational and hopeful songs making me always remember how I have been favoured by God. Her songs are always on point and thrilling too. Just some days ago, I listened to @merit.ahama sing the cover of one of her songs "Look Up Child" and that was the first song I listened to which made me click on the follow button to keep me updated with her songs.
I had a long trip yesterday to meet with my family for the festive season and I was so overjoyed seeing them in good health as we had a warm embrace and were happy to see each other again. Though we last saw in August/September during Mama's burial ceremony, it feels like we haven't seen each other for a long time. It was a nice trip even though I became stressed — a 7 hrs trip on the bus and I just couldn't do anything other than be served hot jollof rice and cold water, then I slept off.
So, why am I saying this? According to the theme for the week, Yeshua is a Greek word which was coined from the name of a boy; Yehoshua which means to save, deliver, rescue etc. Yeshua is also a worship song in which in a way the author appreciates God for delivering and saving him. For the song I chose, Lauren is in a way trusting God to deliver her, and in her song, there is a promise by God to send an army to find His children who are in danger and need help from Him. We are being reminded of God's promise to rescue us as long as we call on His name because He has assured us that He will deliver us from the day of trouble.
This was how Jesus, the son of God rescued His disciples while He was sleeping in the boat and this wind came trying to sink their boat, they were so frightened that one of them had to tap Jesus and say, "Master, do you care that we perish?" One thing I hold onto in that story was that they had to acknowledge their master and call His attention to what was happening to them and He was able to save them by commanding the wind to stop and peace was restored to them. It wasn't like Jesus didn't know what was going on, He knew but just decided to test their faith. The disciples were so surprised that they uttered "What manner of man is this that even the wind obey Him?"
God is always waiting for us to call on Him and it doesn't mean He isn't aware of what we are going through; He only wants us to acknowledge Him to be our deliverer and anytime we call, He is always around to answer us. God is able to rescue us when we call on His name and there is no problem He wouldn't solve and mountains He wouldn't bring down for our sake. I hope this song blesses you and keeps you assured that He can save you with His outstretched arms.
I wish us a Merry Christmas! ❤️

Happy weekend in the Hive Open Mic Community 🎤 It's Princessbusayo here to present a cover song relating to the week's theme titled "Grateful". I did a cover of the song "Gratitude" by Brandon Lake.
Gif created on Canva
If there's only one thing I am grateful for in this year 2023, it is being alive, because if I wasn't, I wouldn't have experienced all I did experience. I wouldn't have cried, wiped my face and said to myself "All is well". I wouldn't have failed, got up, learned from my lessons and moved on. I wouldn't have met friends, some who were sweet and others who were mean and along the line, left. I wouldn't have been on Hive, learning things every day while building my account, etc. There are a lot of things I wouldn't be able to do if I wasn't alive and that is something I appreciate the giver of life for.
I looked through the whole year and realized how merciful God has been to me and how loving He has embraced me in His arms while assuring me that He is always with me, and wherever I go, He is there to guide me. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy a lot of things I have and been to places where I had the best moment, especially one I had with my sister months ago.
Throughout the 12 months of the year, I could look back and see a lot of changes in me and I am so glad not to leave anything behind especially some opportunities that came my way, through the help of friends and family, I was able to achieve them. The year will end in a few days and I am hoping that the new year brings amazing things to our path.
This is why I am tuning in to a wonderful song of gratitude which is one I love to listen to whenever I am in the mood of thanking God Almighty. I had to present this song for this edition and it makes me glad to do that as the year is coming to an end just for me to appreciate God for all His benefits in my life.
The truth is, all my words fall short, I've got nothing new and how could I express my gratitude to Him? All I have to do is throw my hands up in the air, cause all I've got is a Halleluyah that God fought for me all through, made me win some of life's battles and gave me songs of praises which have filled my mouth.
This is a beautiful song that will make one think of God's goodness while showing gratitude for everything in their lives. Brandon Lake is a good singer and I could see how grateful He is while showing a heart of joy to God. I hope this song makes you dwell on the faithfulness of God and give Him what He deserves.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Happy weekend Hive Open Mic Community 🎤. It has been a long time since I have presented here and the reason is that I went camping for a 21-day training activity as a Youth Corper. I remembered I did a video last before I travelled to the North and since it was a confined camp, there was no way I could sing. Though I missed singing here, it never stopped me from listening to songs and singing on my own to praise God.
Designed on CanvaHere I am this day with an Acapella cover of an inspiring song titled "Another in the Fire" by Hillsong, relating with the week's theme "Grace". This is a song I remembered when I thought of God's faithfulness throughout my stay in camp and how He favoured me by making my relocation back to a state closer to home approved. All through last week, I have been a traveller from one state to another, God has kept and made me have a smooth journey. I had another trip yesterday back to where I stay and I only have a few weeks left again to travel back. I don't like travelling too much or having a long distance trip but it has happened and with God's safety over me, I am always relieved and assured that I am never alone in this journey of life.
I never wanted to let the weekend pass by without presenting my entry, that is why I did this yesterday before I had my journey.
'Another in the Fire' is another great song by the Hillsong that talks about how God is there for us in the midst of challenges and troubles in life. Just like God who came to rescue the three Hebrew guys when King Nebuchadnezzar ordered they should be thrown in the hot furnace, but were not burnt because there was another who stood as the fourth man in the fire. Just like how Jesus Christ commanded the sea to be calmed when He was in the boat with His disciple. Same thing with us as He is there to rescue us from life's challenges so we aren't swallowed up by them.
The Almighty God we serve can deliver us and help us overcome our problems when we cast all upon Him. We should never be afraid when we go through some difficult times that seem overwhelming because God is with us. Whenever I remember His promises in the book of Isaiah where He said when we pass through the fire, it will not burn us, when we walk through the waters, we will not be consumed by it, we should not be worried or anxious because He is with us. The year is almost ending and it's the last month of the year. Even when it seems you aren't able to achieve all you have planned out this year, do not be worried because as long as you are still alive, you will achieve them. Put your trust in God and not in man and He will always be there for you.
I hope this song blesses and encourages someone today. Have a great weekend.

Yesterday being the weekend was one of the social activities in the Nysc Camp and it was all about the cultural dance of different tribes. This activity also was done in all 36 states in Nigeria where all graduates are camped. Just 10 tribes performed yesterday since we all were grouped in 10 with platoon numbers 1-10. I am in platoon 4 and I enjoyed all the tribes being performed. I was only able to video 4 tribes who performed their cultural dance.
The first which is the Zulu tribe is from Kebbi state which is the North where I am serving. Zuru is a bastardisation of A'zuguru or A'zurannu Darkkarkari which means "warriors". According to research, the Zuru tribe became prominent when the white colonial masters could not pronounce the name, so it was shortened to "Zuru" for easy pronunciation. The language they speak is called C'Lela.
The second is the Tiv tribe. Tiv makes up 2.5 per cent of the national population. This tribe lives in the Eastern central state of Taraba in the valley of the Benue River.
The third is the Edo or Benin tribe. The Edo are referred to as the Bendel people. They are the Edo-speaking ethnic group.
The fourth is the Ibibio tribe. This is my platoon group and they performed nicely too. The Ibibio are people from the south-eastern mainly Cross River state. Their dialect is Efik-ibibio which has been grouped within the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo family.
Yesterday's activities including cooking competition were interesting and I was able to recognise different tribes with their ways of dressing and dancing plus their food. At the end of the dance, the Zuru tribe which is represented by Corp members from Platoon 1 took the first position while in the cooking competition, platoon number 6 took the first position. They were so happy when they were announced as the winners.
One of the aims of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is to bring people from different ethnic groups to interact and form great friendships. This is the reason why we are being posted to all the 36 states in Nigeria including the FCT (Abuja) where we meet ourselves and understand people's opinions and perspectives. It was a great moment being among other people who are from different tribes and having fun together as one.
I hope you enjoy the dances in the video.

Most of my friends here already know I am in camp performing my duty of serving my father's land, which means I am a Nigerian Corper. Today marks it 16 days I have been in the orientation camp and it makes me happy knowing there are just a few days to the end while I return home for some weeks before resuming to my place of primary assignment for the remaining 11 months.
Activities had started right from day one where soldiers were assigned to different platoons with each platoon consisting of Corp members. There are 10 platoons and corpers were given their platoon numbers of which I fall into number 4. In each platoon, we have officers/instructors and commandants who are in charge of directing us and ensuring we are involved in different activities like marching, drumming, those in the Red Cross group, Man O war, OBS (Orientation Broadcasting Service) etc.
The swearing-in ceremony where Corp members were sworn in and officially called Corpers instead of Prospective Corpers has been done. The governor, commissioner for police, and other guests came to honour the day for us. It was an amazing moment to be sworn in officially. After the event, the next activity kick-started. The parade rehearsals had started over a week ago and later today, we would be doing the inter-platoon competition. In the video, it was the last rehearsal we had where number 1-10 platoons were marching as the band were giving them sweet sound to be aligned accordingly. I was part of the parade before but was removed by my platoon commandant. He didn't give room for a second chance or even tried to correct me but was too aggressive and quick to remove me and a few members. He expected us to grab something he hasn't taught us, he was just too angry which I didn't like.
Of course, I was super excited because it meant I wouldn't be engaging in strenuous activities but to be a part of Platoon 11. This platoon is invisible but it is their way of classifying those not marching as we are called real Otondos (this term means fools in the Nysc slang). I don't care, since no one stresses me, I am good to go. Lol
I hope you enjoyed the parade rehearsal and how the bands did their best too.

It's another weekend here again. Hello, Hive Open Mic community! Princess is here with another lovely song with the week 175 Open Mic with the theme "Reflect your Spirituality". This is yet another lovely theme chosen and this didn't stress me much in finding a song to match up with it. There is a song that I have on my mind and it's a powerful one so I decided to do the cover of it. The song is titled, "Trust in You" by Lauren Daigle.
This is a beautiful song that talks about faith and surrendering to the will of God. You know when you have reached that level of spirituality, even when it seems your prayers aren't answering, you still trust in God, knowing He has the best plan for you — it's just not the right time yet!
One of the ways you can reflect your spirituality is by surrendering your "all" to God, trusting Him to take the wheels where it seems you are losing hope and understanding that God is the best person who can solve problems ravaging your life. When you can trust God, allowing Him to guide your steps, that is an idea of your spirit being in Christ.
With my level of spirituality in God and recognising how faithful God has been to me, I have learnt to commit all in His hands while I keep trusting Him to do the best for me. In her words, she speaks about how even when her prayers seem not to get answers, still, she would keep trusting God. I was taught that God has an answer for each of our prayers; it's either a yes or no. Yes, because He knows it is time. No, because He is busy preparing and planning the right time for us. Even if He delays, trust that His timing is always right and never misses it.
The best thing to do is to find peace in His solace, embracing His Holy words and believing that all things work together for the good of those who love God. Trusting Him amidst the chaos means you have allowed Him to defend and fight for you, surely He will. I want you to remember that your faith and trust in God can bring peace to you in difficult times and circumstances.
Here is the lyrics of the song: Trust in You

Happy weekend everyone in the Hive Open Mic community. It is with great pleasure coming here again with my entry to the week's theme which is titled "Beacon of Light". Here with me is a cover of a beautiful song from Bethel Music which was sung by Jonathan and Melissa Helser, titled "Raise a Hallelujah".
Image by Terren Hurst, edited on Canva
I watched the live video of this song and listened to this big miracle that happened which birthed this amazing song. Jonathan narrated an incident that happened four years ago, a few days before Christmas, a little boy named Jackson was airlifted by his parents to an intensive care unit where he was about to die. The Bethel music family came together that night and started praying for this boy. Jonathan said as he was praying, he saw this giant of unbelief in front of him and he didn't know when this song dropped into his heart and sang in the presence of the giant. Immediately, the sword was dropped down and a miracle happened. The boy came back to life.
I was so moved by this story and how the song of Hallelujah brought back a little child to life. The Bethel family were a Beacon of light in Jackson's life as they interceded with his parents in prayer.
Anyone can be your Beacon of light as they help you to overcome some challenges in life. A beacon of light is like a source of inspiration to anyone. I am privileged to have my siblings fill in the gap for me where I'd thought I wouldn't be able to go back to school. I went and graduated with a good grade. All thanks to their light through God that shone on my path. Aside from them, I would like to thank my parents for believing in me, even though my Dad is the one alive who still keeps motivating me and is the reason I am trying my best so that I could take care of him.
This song is so inspiring and emotional that I just couldn't stop singing it, knowing how powerful it is to break every chain and bring light to shine on our path. Even in the Bible, (Matthew 5:16) God wants us to be a beacon of light pointing to others who have gone astray or not yet received Him into the light which He has given to us. There are people out there wanting to learn from us and also become an inspiration to them. This, we must do for God's name to be glorified in Heaven. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
I hope you enjoy this sweet song as you are reminded to be a light in the dark of many people. You can find the lyrics of the song here: Raise a Hallelujah
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Happy Weekend to the Hive Open Mic community and the whole Hivian. It is with my pleasure coming again with another entry to the week's theme titled "Memories" which was chosen by @rukkie. This is sure a beautiful theme and when I saw it during the week, the first song that came to my mind was Memories by Maroon 5. I didn't have to stress myself as most of the songs I have presented here and this is because it is one song I normally sing anytime I feel alone and reminisce on old memories of friends and families.
When we talk about memories, we talk about things we have done with others in the past or what has happened to us and we decided to create a memory out of it. Whether it's a good or bad one, we still feel that flashback especially when something triggers our minds and brains to remember such past incidents. There are friends we have played with, joked with, laughed with etc but are not with us today. Going through our phone galleries, their pictures bring back lots of memories attached to them and us.
In my tribe, they say 20 children cannot play for 20 years and that is the truth. This is why it is important to always create good memories and not bad ones wherever we go so that later in the future while remembering them, it brings happiness to us knowing how fun things were in the past. We will never be together forever and so, those flashbacks will always come to us.
So also with the ones we have lost to death. That memory is always a painful one because when we are reminded of them, we wish they could come back to us but it is not possible. I always miss my mom because of so many memories we have shared. She was my friend and everything to me. We laughed, she scolded me, and she gets angry, but these things are what make me keep missing her the more. In all, there were good and bad memories we made together. That is life! We make memories.
I believe everyone here has made lots of memories on Hive. Some of our friends have left this blockchain; some, to look for more ways to make money, because they feel Hive isn't giving them what they wanted while some have died leaving us to keep wishing they were still alive especially when you have someone who would always comment on your posts but not seeing them again would bring back memories. We make memories, either good or bad as they never leave us alone. Memories are like a shadow that keeps following us everywhere we go. We can decide to make the best memories with friends and families so that in the end, we won't keep wallowing in self-pity, not doing what we ought to have done.
I hope you enjoy this cover song of mine and keep flashing back to good old memories.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Happy weekend to the community and all Hivians. I love this week's theme— Family. At first, I found a song to record but while I was minding my business on YouTube, I came across this beautiful song and I said, "This is going to be rehearsed by me". The song is so emotional that I felt like crying. I could feel a mother's love and care for her children. I could feel her emotion while talking to her children, guiding them on the right path in life and making them understand that no matter where life takes them and how life treats them, she is always available to hold their hands so they don't feel lonely in the world.
I decided to do the cover song by downloading the instrumental beat on YouTube and working out some editing to the video. Let's talk a little bit more about the song as it relates well to the theme of family. The song is titled "Hand to Hold" by JJ Heller. A woman who has passion and love for the growth of children and this song was particularly made for them as she believed that every one of us still has this child-like image in us. We want to feel loved. We want to be nurtured and cared for. We want the best to be for us and so, here comes where family fills in the gap. Family is one agent of socialisation where you'd find love, attention, care, sacrifice and so on even more than what an outsider or stranger would do for you.
This song speaks about prayer and assurance from a kind-hearted mother to her children. It's a song that makes you feel the warmth of a mother speaking to her kids and making them know she would be there for them at any time. She went ahead making them understand that failure is inevitable and they should not be afraid to lose because the more they keep trying, the more they learn and become better persons. What is more fulfilling than seeing parents wishing their children the best as they grow and find their path?
Family will always guide you and teach you about life. They believe they have walked through life's challenges and have learnt so many lessons which they are willing and ready to give to their kids who are also getting prepared for what life has for them. Having to have a family to guide you, and to lean on is the strongest thing one could have. God has sent us to amazing families that are ready to sacrifice their love for us which no one else can do. This is why we need to cherish our source, where we are birth from, remembering their love and how they'd do everything to keep us happy. Having a wonderful family is the best thing we can ever have from God.
I hope you enjoy the song as I have included the lyrics so we can all flow along with it.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Good morning and happy weekend to everyone in the community. This is Princessbusayo and I am presenting an entry to the week's theme titled "Divorce/Separation" which is for week 171. In my video, I did a cover song of "Out of Love" by Alessia Cara. It's fun doing this again and I am grateful for the support of the team and everyone who has been listening to what I have always been putting up on the blockchain.
Image designed on Canva
How does this song relate to the theme?
Sometimes, I wonder how partners tend to stop loving themselves again. The love dissolves into thin air all of a sudden and it makes me question: what has happened? Where have all the vows and promises gone? What had destroyed the fun moments? When an individual sees two people who are in love, he or she would want to pray for such kind of love because of how they act, connect and cherish each other. You wonder and imagine a perfect love like that, but all of a sudden, that once upon love tale has disappeared. All that remains is irritation and hatred which at the end of the day result in divorce or separation.
Alessia had such an experience too. The first lyrics in her song explain how she missed her ex and wanted him to return but there was nothing she could do to bring him back. All she now wanted is an answer to her question that says "When did he stop loving her?" "At what point did he stop caring for her again". You know, this is what most people want as they aren't even doing anything to bring them back again because no matter what they do or how hard they try, things still wouldn't be like they used to be. But they want an answer — what changed? Why did you stop showing you care? That's all I want to know!
Divorce or separation is always hard especially when it does not favor one person. He or she would try to decipher what has gone wrong in the relationship. What makes the other person change suddenly? They never wanted a separation but the deed has been done; the one who initiated it has made the decision and not coming back and in most situation, it's always hard to decide leaving. This affects the victim which may result in different questions about how things have happened and took such an unexpected turn.
I think what made two people connected in the first place should continue to blossom and there shouldn't be any change in the future that could cause a divorce or separation, I don't want to experience this because this stage is an unbearable one for the victim affected most. Divorce is painful and I don't think I would want such. Even if there would be any separation, let it be during my relationship before marriage as I would want to live with my partner forever, with us training our kids in the best way.
But really, have you tried asking such a question when you had a separation where you aren't the cause? When did you fall out of love with me?
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Here comes another week in the Hive Open Mic community where I bring to you what I have recorded in line with the theme, "Cacao". I never heard of this word before until when I saw the theme for the week. I searched for the meaning which is "a tree that produces cacao seeds and this can be made of cocoa, cocoa butter, chocolate etc". I tried looking up a song to relate with it but I couldn't at first. Searching for more meaning, I got to know the Greek word for it is "Theobroma" which means "food of the gods".
The song I picked is from Maverick City titled "You keep on getting better". I love this song and wanted to relate to this theme which I did metaphorically. The lyrics of this song talk about the process and growth of cultivating and transforming cacao beans into chocolate. Farmers are always excited when they see the tree growing gradually which requires patience, nurturing and endurance to produce delicious snacks and meals for the world to consume and make use of.
The lyrics is relating to growth, harvesting, seasons, patience, transformation, consistency, and the result brings blessing to all farmers who are in the business of growing cacao trees and seeds. Farmers are always happy when they see the growth and development of cacao trees and appreciate the wonders of nature which is a beautiful creation to mankind.
When it comes to growth, cacao trees are influenced by different seasons and this is where farmers need to exercise a lot of patience throughout the whole stages till when they are ripe enough. Cacao trees go through different steps which are: fermentation, drying, roasting, grinding and conching. While waiting and being patient, they have the hope and belief that their waiting won't be in vain as in the end, their efforts are rewarded greatly.
As the meaning also translates to being "food of the gods", this song is directly an expression of my gratitude to God, making me profess that in all seasons of my life, God has been good. Realising His faithfulness in my life is something I am ever grateful for and this song is a way to give Him what He desires which is my praise to Him. This is God's food too.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

First thing first, I would like to appreciate the immense support of the community's team to every musician/singer in the community. I appreciate your time going through all entries. For this week 169, the theme is "War" and to that, I did a cover song titled "Boat" by Ed Sheeran. I have this song in mind to present and I'm excited to bring it here for us to listen to, give your comment which I would be glad to read and keep improving. Lest I forget, I got a poem which I never expected from a member of the community, @lecumberre and it's such a great honour to be mentioned by him. God bless you, sir!
When we talk about war with the song I brought to us, you would agree with me that life itself is a war. Every day, we try our best to fight every war around us, whether physically or spiritually. Some came unexpectedly and we have no choice but to face them, while others came due to situations we find ourselves in, and trying to get out and resolve it might seem impossible but with love and unity, we scale through.
There are some wars some people have engaged in in the hope that they'd win, and along the line, it makes them question their initial decision because the circumstances and hardships have become apparent. The truth is that war exposes an individual to the harsh realities, bringing out the true brutality of life and teaching such individual lessons of being resilient and gaining strength which comes from those difficult times during the war. Another thing to remember is that during the war, love, unity and connections become tough to maintain as people would be forced to let out their true colours.
In the end, war leaves a lasting scar on such an individual, physically and emotionally. Though some wounds heal with time, the impact it leaves is forever and there is a possibility they carry it on wherever they go. This is what a war can do to a fellow, but we need to be reminded that despite being involved, we learn a lot of lessons while being resilient and courageous to fight till we have overcome. Above all, bringing God to fight for us is the best thing we can ever do.
Just as the lyrics "the waves won't break my boat", no matter the struggles and pains we faced during war, we should remain determined and steadfast to overcome the obstacles.
I added the lyrics to the video so you can easily flow along with me as I sing.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Good day, Hive Open Mic Community 🎤 It's my privilege again here to bring a cover song I did for this week's theme which is "Music for Children". For today, I did a little nursery rhyme and song for kids titled "Wheels on the Bus" by Cocomelon from YouTube. The song was inspired by a little girl in my department from Church. She would be clocking a year old next month and she is the idea of the song I did today.
Her name is Sharon. Little Sharon is a beautiful and all-smiling girl who would allow everyone to carry her without crying except she isn't comfortable around the person which is unusual for her. Sharon is loved by many in the church as she smiles and waves at people when they come to say hello. The first time she was brought to the children's department as her mother was on duty as the head of the usher, she felt uneasy for the first few minutes in my hand. Then, I thought of making her happy and enjoying my presence, especially knowing she would be with me all through the service and for her not to distract or disturb the other kids from listening, I searched for a song on YouTube to keep her busy.
I went for "Wheels on the Bus" as it's a danceable and lively song for a kid like her. Immediately I pressed the play button and she heard the sound and rhythm, she started jumping up in excitement, moving her body while on my lap and giggling, smiling, and blabbing some words from her mouth, which she and God understands because no one could get her words but she felt joyous and excited listening to the song. Other children too joined in the fun and I realized they love the particular song.
Sharon would tap me and point to the picture in the phone while I replied with my head in agreement to whatever she was saying, just for her to know I am also tagging along. I found out she loves music too because her mom always plays it for her at home. Kids enjoy such moments and I was glad to make her smile. Any time she comes around, she would try reaching out for my phone which I would understand she needed me to play her a song. Such a wonderful kid. I wish her a happy one-year birthday in advance.
I was inspired to sing the song and I enjoyed my little time doing it. Here is the instrumental song from YouTube.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
I am glad to be a part of this community this week and it's amazing joining others to present interesting and inspiring songs for the Afritunes music challenge. It's your girl, @Princessbusayo and with me today is a cover song of a popular Nigerian song by one of our sweet artists, named Chidinma and the title of the song is "Jehovah Overdo". It's week 68!
This is a song I enjoy singing to because of how inspiring and hopeful it is. The lyrics are filled with the belief that God is ever wonderful. With God, all things are possible. There are times I have enjoyed God's faithfulness and still doing so because God never gets tired of blessing His children at the right time. This song also reminds me of a scripture in the Bible which says when the time comes, God will make it happen. No matter what we are facing or passing through, time is coming God will step in for us while breaking protocols for our sakes. He said His way is different from ours. His thoughts towards us are of good and not evil. The best that could happen to us is by waiting patiently for God to make it work out at His own appointed time, then, there wouldn't be anyone to question Him.
It makes me sad seeing some people trying other wrong means just because they lack the patience of waiting, thereby wanting things to work immediately for them. The truth is that those things never last because the word of God says it is the blessing of God that makes wealth, and does not add sorrow to it. It is always better to struggle and keep waiting for the right time and enjoy the rewards later than going for the shortcut thereby losing your life at a tender age.
Jehovah Overdo reveals to us that there is nothing God cannot do. My dad would always say God can do all things except the ones He doesn't have an interest in. It doesn't mean He isn't capable, He just feels and knows it isn't what we need at that moment. This is why we must not conclude that God has forgotten us when we have been waiting for so long making it look as if God has stopped working, He hasn't. He is only waiting for the right time to shoot.
Lyrics for "Jehovah Overdo"
***There is nothing You cannot do: Protocol Breaker
There is nothing You cannot do, Jehovah overdo O
I have tasted your Love
I have seen your mighty works
Mountain Mover, my Lover

Hello, Hive Open Mic community!!!
It's a great privilege to join you this week to present my rendition. It's fun listening to musicians in the community and how passionate they are to do what they love to do best. Here I am this week with the theme titled "OTAKU". At first, I didn't want to participate because I wasn't understanding the theme nor do I know which song to relate to it. I decided to visit some entries and this is one way for me to get an idea of what to do or write about. I also checked Google for the meaning and I got to know that a person who is obsessed with interests like anime, video games, computers etc is called Otaku. Since I am not a lover or fan of anime just like the few I visited describing their love for it since the 90s.
I decided to go for this particular song that has always been sitting on my list of songs for a while, waiting for the right time to present it. The song is titled "Helplessly" by Tatiana Manaois. I believe this also goes in line with the theme since we are still talking about being obsessed or fond of something even though anime is the major touch of this. I enjoyed singing and sharing my performance in the community as it also helps me improve every time I do something like this. Music is my friend and I enjoy listening to it.
The artist is a lady I often listen to her songs because of how interesting and inspiring they are. She has this way of making the lyrics resonate with life's experiences and giving us a dose of inspiration to keep going and be ourselves. This particular song describes a one-sided relationship. The song talks about the protagonist being distracted and can't seem to do anything without their partner. He or she is struggling to focus on other things even when it is obvious the partner is not helping in the relationship. We have relationships like that where one of them is the one trying to make it work while the other person is not showing any sign of being serious or committed to it. The protagonist feels lost and helplessly falls in love. This kind of thing is a bad one because things wouldn't be smooth between them. When you are in a relationship where you are the one doing everything without your partner's help and support, such a relationship would not last. It's better to give yourself a space than being hurt by them.
I did the cover of the song without an instrument which was intentional as I want to do with my voice alone and I guess it turned out to be good. Well, you are my judge here and I would appreciate your time listening while giving me feedback.
Lyrics of "Helplessly"

But I know I want you to stay
See, this could be us in a few years
But just tell me you like to play"*

Hello, Afri-tunes community!!!
It's another week here and I bring to you a song we all are common with. It's a song I have enjoyed since I was in secondary school and listening to it again brings back memories. The song title is "Fallen in Love" by Chidinma. It's a beautiful love song that speaks about confession to one's partner and ensuring they stay true to their love in all situations. When I was very young, I enjoyed singing love songs as I was so desperate to be in a relationship. Every moment, I fantasise about a lovely relationship and getting most love songs prepared and ready to sing for someone who may come my way then. Listening and singing love songs has this kind of feeling in you that makes you want to sing in your partner's presence and let them know how much you love them.
I could remember how I would hum these kinds of songs around in the house and my mom would always say this: better focus on your studies first before thinking of any love song. I had several love message books I bought with my food money just so I could learn how to write love messages and pick words to form lyrics while I compose my love songs which would always give me goosebumps. Maybe it was because of that I didn't focus on my studies as the constant thought of having a boyfriend made me stay off my academic track as I failed woefully in my first Waec examination. It was when I saw my mates being given admission to the University that I became serious with my life. The second WAEC I did got me 5 credits which I was so happy about.
I intended to sing this song last week but due to my voice not being okay, I had to postpone it till this week so I wouldn't be singing like a frog 😅 This is me trying to let the next man who will be lucky to have me know that my love is real. I am singing this song to that future partner, assuring him that no matter what happens, my love is here to stay and not leave. Well, I plan to sing more love songs to that special one every day because I know how to join words together to form a meaning and feel captivating 😉
Anyways, this is a normal love song which I thought to present for this community and I hope as you listen, you try to flow with it and perhaps sing it for your partner as a true confession to always stay true to them in all situations. Love should be sweet no matter what you guys are passing through because, in love, issues are solved on time while you continue enjoying your love life.
Uuuhh...
Miss Kedike, hey
I've fallen in love with you o
I have made up my mind for you o
No matter the weather I dey with you o
Aye Iye Iyee...
You can find the rest of the lyrics here.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
Happy Friday to everyone!! Thank God it's Friday. I believe most workers would be excited because tomorrow is the weekend and also a relaxing one for them. I am here again with another cover song which relates to the week's theme that was chosen by my friend, @ksam which is titled, "Never Give Up". I thought I wouldn't be able to make an entry as my voice had ceased since last Friday after attending my church's vigil. I had waited for it to be cleared but it seems I didn't give up, right? Lol. Despite that, I did try my best as my voice wasn't cracky too.

I picked a sweet song, though I tried singing with the instrument but couldn't find any. I had to sing with my voice alone. This is a song titled, "Keep Dreaming" by Emma Stevens. This is a wonderful song that goes in line with the theme as it speaks about not giving up on one's dream no matter how tough the challenges and setbacks are. The song is a message to every one of us about optimism, perseverance, resilience and holding onto our dreams despite the obstacles around us.
Never giving up shouldn't be an option when we have tried and want to lose hope. We all wish for better things in this world, but life has its way of turning things against our wishes, here is a song giving the message of not giving up but to continue dreaming each day. The lyrics of this song are like a motivational anthem as a reminder to us that we should keep persevering, staying resilient, focused and committed to our goals. It is necessary to overcome our obstacles, learn from our experiences and keep pushing forward despite the challenges we may encounter along the way.
This is just like a journey, where in the end, we would reach our destination. Things may go wrong on the way, making us feel tired, restless and frustrated but we would surely get there. We should just be determined to achieve those goals no matter what happens.
In the video, I wrote out the lyrics to get the words and tag along too. I hope you enjoy my performance.

I love this week's theme as it speaks about something we have been blessed to have which is Nature/Mother Earth. It's week 165 and I decided to pick and do a cover of a short nature song for this rendition and I hope you will enjoy it.
Image is mine
Nature as we all know is a blessing to every individual. This is something that can heal, inspire, and beautify our lives if we embrace and love it. It is our sole responsibility to protect and keep it safe. Many individuals have taken nature for granted and all they do is destroy it for their selfish interest and greediness without pitying the trees, plants, rivers, seas, animals, etc.
There are waste products that should be thrown in the right place but out of ignorance, they throw them into the rivers and seas as this causes drainage. In the end, all these atrocities are what would come to destroy our properties and livelihood. It is better to do the right thing than be negligent as it would be disastrous to our health later.
Mother Nature is a gift to humanity and so, we should cherish and embrace them. Nature is our best friend which helps us tackle the climate crisis. We depend on nature for food, water, air etc and they make life easier and possible for us. They provide us with health and social benefits. With all of these, it is for our good to keep it clean and safe. Mother Earth is beckoning us to treat our homes and make them conducive and convenient for everyone to live in.
Lyrics for "Mother Earth" by Karliene.
*Listen to the animals
Listen to the trees
Listen to the spirits of the Earth
Begging us please
Stop listening to greed*

In our everyday life, we make decisions throughout the day. What should I wear? What perfume should I put on? Is this product okay for me? Etc. These decisions are what we make while purchasing items and products without giving them much thought.
In this 5 mins video, I talked about consumer behaviour and how it influences consumers/customers in choosing a product to buy. The consumer analysis that should be disclosed is as follows;
In every business, marketers should take the consumers more important as they determine the growth of a product and business. Without them, there wouldn't be any products being created and designed into fascinating brands.

Good day, Afritunes community!!! It's another privilege to present my rendition to you guys. It's week 65 and for today, I did a cover song of one of the songs from a Nigerian artist I have always loved right from time. It has been a long time listening to her songs and she has never failed to bring out the best. The song is titled "Dansaki" by Lara George.
Lara George is a woman with great talent in singing. Her songs are always inspiring and amazing. It has been years of listening to her and still do today. Most of her songs I have enjoyed are: Ijoba Orun, He is Lord, Titi Kan, Komasi(Nobody like you), Kolebaje, Hallelujah, etc. These are songs I can sing from the beginning to the end and I hope to bring more from her someday.
Dansaki is a Yoruba word meaning "Hail". This is like eulogizing God for all He has done. This is more like praising Him for His faithfulness and helping you in all spheres of life. The reason I chose this song is how it resonated with me till now. I love hailing God and one thing I have come to realize is that God is always pleased with whoever can eulogize, hail and give accord to Him. This is a way of showing that the individual is grateful to God in all ways.
Despite the challenges happening, it shouldn't stop us from praising God as He dwells in praises. God is always happy and ready to bless the one who is always ready to give thanks and honour to God.
You wouldn't want to say God hasn't done something in your life. Of course, even if you cannot think of anything else, your existence today is by His grace and that alone is enough to thank Him. It is the reason we need to inculcate the habit of saying, "Thank you, Lord" each morning when we wake up and at night when we are about to retire to bed. God never stops blessing an individual who shows gratitude to and acknowledges Him.
As you can see, I decided to dance to the song as I can't do that while sitting down. I love dancing even though I don't know how to dance. This is why you are seeing Princess moving her body from left to right and vice versa. Lol, I hope you enjoy listening. I appreciate your time too and thanks for your support on my video.
Lyrics of the song:
I'm acknowledging you for who you are
For what you've done
In my life ohoh
I'm acknowledging you for who you are

Good day communtity!!! Happy New Month to all musicians and Hivians in this lovely community and I am glad to bring my rendition to everyone who is chanced to listen to this, and since the theme is all about Hope, I would want us to be hopeful in this new month, believing in Christ and understanding that His love can only lead us in the right way.
I did a cover song from Hillsong Worship titled "Who You Say I Am". This song is a reminder of our identity and worth in Christ Jesus, and the hope and confidence we have in our relationship with God. Also, it encourages us to hold on to the truth about who God says we are rather than what the world says we are or what our circumstances say about us. We are loved, chosen and transformed in the image of God.
One thing I love about the lyrics of the song is that of our identity in God. We have been set free from any bondage and the hope that we are important to God in His plans for us. It's a new month of June and what we need to keep reminding ourselves is that God has a purpose for us and in His plans, He has prepared great and wonderful things for His children. In every season of life, God is ever faithful and in the midst of uncertainties, God's love and character do not change towards us. His love for us never fades.
Lastly, this song tells us of the hope of eternity. It also reminds us that as children of God, we have an inheritance that is eternal and a place in God's presence, giving us assurance and hope for the future.
Lyrics of the song Who You Say I Am Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in

Hello, Afritunes community! This would be my first time singing in this community and it's my pleasure to join you guys. A year ago, I have been trying to show my face here but finally, I am here and hope to keep bringing more of our Nigerian songs.
My own image, edited on CanvaIt's week 64 and with me here is a common song that was released not quite long and it has been everywhere because of how interesting and heavenly it is. Two Nigerian artists I enjoyed listening to their songs are Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo, they both did an amazing song titled, "TOBECHUKWU" and it's the one I brought here and I did a cover of it.
Tobechukwu is an Igbo word which translates as "Praise God" or "Start praising God". The first line of the lyrics says, "Tobechukwu, Tobechukwu, Tobechukwu, He has done it for me". The first time I listened to this song on Spotify, I couldn't stop listening because of how melodious it sounds and also, my love for Gospel songs is a great one. I realized singing these songs brings one closer to God especially when you are focused on it without any distraction.
This song is a channel through which you start to praise God for all He has done for you. I have never stopped being grateful to God for all He has done for my family and me. Sometimes, when I just sit and start thinking of how life was in the past, compared to now, the only thing I see is GRACE. Yes, with God's grace, He is ready to take us to levels we do not deserve but for His unending love towards us, we are here alive.
Another part of the lyrics says, "Even before I prayed, Jehovah Nissi answered me". The scripture says that we shouldn't make vain repetition because the Lord already knows what we need even before we ask anything. This is why I say that I do not know what to pray about or how to do it, but God has always shown up in many ways. He knows what we need at the right time and even when we do not remember to include those things in our prayer, and because we are closer and more faithful to Him, He will grant us what He knows is best for us.
This song is one of the best songs on my list and there is no day I don't sing it anywhere I go because I have cultivated the habit of praising God anywhere I am or wherever I may be because thinking of everything, He has been there for me. It's a beautiful song that encourages one to appreciate their maker and acknowledge that with what we own today, it is through the grace of God.
Lyrics of the song...
Tobechukwu, Tobechukwu
Tobechukwu, He has done it for me
Tobechukwu, Tobechukwu
Tobechukwu, He has done it for me

Holla Hive Open Mic Community!!!
Image by Pixabay from pexels, designed on CanvaIt's another beautiful moment to showcase my gift in singing and here I am responding to the week's theme titled, "Passion for Arts."
Music is an art and I believe it is everybody that can sing even if you are humming in your mind making the sound and rhythm enjoyable to listen to. Music is fun and because of this, we try to put in our best to do what we enjoy doing. That is called Passion.
When you have passion for something, it comes naturally to you than trying to fit into a style that is not yours. There are amazing people on this blockchain who have come to share their talents and passion for singing and when I listen to them, it makes me admire them because of so much time and energy being put into it.
For today, I brought a wonderful song to us, titled "It is Well" from Bethel Music. This song has given me more inspiration and made me realize that there will always be hope and the light will always show up at the end of the tunnel. No matter the darkness surrounding us, it is only for a moment and it will be well with our soul in the end. This is another perfect song I chose to bring to everyone who listens to it and make them know that in all situations, it is always well with our souls because God will always fight for us, defend us, love us and most importantly bring us closer to His arms with His compassion.
In the midst of storms in life, we need to put our trust and faith in God and also let our hearts reside in the unchanging character of the Highest God. This song is such an encouraging one that promises us everlasting hope from the Almighty, and only if we can channel our focus on Him alone, He will heal our heart, mend our broken soul and gives us peace. No matter the challenges, God is ever present, watching over us and making sure we scale through without being drowned by life's big storm.
I hope you enjoy this cover song. Pardon me, there is a little error I made in the lyrics.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

Image taken from the original postThanks to @maryjacy for such a beautiful theme for this week in the Hive Open Mic community where all musicians show their talent in singing and playing all kinds of instruments. I have also enjoyed my time here too as I am always excited to share my talent in singing, even though I am only trying my best. Sometimes, people ask what key I sing with, and I simply tell them soprano depending on the situation but I hate raising my voice on a high pitch except I would be needing a lot of water to gulp it down my throat. Lol
For this theme, I went with the song "You're gonna be okay" from Bethel Music and sung by Brian and Jenn Johnson. I love this song because it sends hope, encouragement, and comfort to people going through difficult times and moments. This life is filled with ups and downs, there is no assurance that things would go smoothly forever, but there are times we feel hopeless, damaged, and depressed due to an inevitable cause. We would pass through those tough times but here is a song giving us comfort and making us realise how powerful it is to be full of faith, believing that we would be okay in the end.
This song helps us to acknowledge those hard times people face in life but makes us understand that those challenges are not permanent but temporary, and only last for a while. We are being encouraged to trust in God who will guide us through those difficulties we are facing in life. One thing we should also realise is that we are not alone in this battle, but there is a support to help us navigate through those challenges.
We need a resilient spirit and a positive mindset to fight and overcome these struggles. We can do it once we believe we can. We can rise above challenges and find hope and peace in the midst of adversity. Whatever we are facing, it's not the end of the world, the problems won't last forever, so we are going to be okay in the end if only we can have hope and be patient for the best times ahead of us.
Here the lyrics of the song: You're gonna be okay Thanks for your time on my blog.

Good day community, I am here again for this week's theme that is titled "Original Song". Thanks to the spotlight, @fernanblog for choosing this beautiful theme as we have been made to bring our creativity into work. When I saw the theme, I remembered how I have loved composing songs as a teenager in my church. I was among the choristers in church then and I always felt excited when I am called upon to teach others a new song of mine.
I have composed several songs in the past that it pained me after losing the big books I recorded all my originals. When I gained admission in the year 2019, I only tried composing once which I stopped. The theme made me remembered I have a talent hidden and decided to try a song to be presented. The title of the song is "In the midst of challenges". I was inspired to sing this song after coming to the realisation of God's unending love for His children and how He is ever ready to embrace us into His arms anytime we run away and desire to return to Him again.
Here is the lyrics of my song: Chorus:
In the midst of my challenges
You are there for me
In the midst of my tribulations
You are there for me
In the midst of big mountains
You are there for me
In the midst of many failures
You are there for me Solo:
When I look around me
I found no one
When I thought I'm forgotten
That's when you brought your hands
When I search around me
I found no one
When I have no one to talk to
That's when you held my hand Bridge:
I sing Holy to you
I sing Holy to your name
I sing Holy to you
I sing Holy to you, Lord You stretched your hands to me
I sing Holy to your name
You are all that I need
I sing Holy to you, Lord. Thanks for your time on my blog.

It is my honor bringing to you my presentation for this week's theme, titled "FRATERNITY" Good evening from Nigeria!
Image taken from the original post
According to Google, fraternity means a body of men associated by common interest. I believe the sole purpose of creating a fraternity is to come together to unitedly form and create friendships, help and support each other to achieve the same goal.
###### "There is no cooperation without unity and there is no unity without love."
Love is the foundation for creating a fraternity and every member is expected to work together and share knowledge and ideas to help the community grow stronger.
Hive as a whole has different fraternities whereby we have the admin as the head of each community, while the moderators are part of the community who come together in curating quality posts and making sure things are going smoothly while making the community thrive and grow stronger.
For this day, I chose a beautiful song that relates to the theme and it is titled "We will not be shaken" by Bethel Music. Just as the title, this is a group of people who have come together with their faith made stronger and in unity professed how they cannot be shaken no matter the challenges, temptations or tribulations.
The song brought about the idea of believers who are standing together in unity and supporting each other. They stood in one accord just as in the story of the apostles who stood in the upper room waiting for the Holy Ghost to descend on them in the Book of Acts of the Apostles.
The lyrics of the song pronounce and proclaim the strength that comes when a community, with their powers, love and unity stand together as one, both brothers and sisters in faith. When there is a total commitment among believers, and with their faith made stronger, no matter the challenges they face, they will overcome.
Above all, the message in the song emphasizes the importance of creating relationships with other believers in Christ and finding strength together.

It's another wonderful moment in the Hive Open Mic community in which the theme is titled “A Good Friend” which was chosen by our spotlight who is also a friend on Hive, @jesus-son. This is a lovely theme as it speaks about who a good friend is and what qualifies one to be in that category.

Some days ago, I was chatting with my friends on Discord when I typed “Music is therapy”. @olujay replied that I made him remember one of favourite songs titled "Therapy” by Khalid. I decided to go with it as he also added it would be nice if I could sing it. Thank God the song also aligned with the theme and I promised to sing this week. Also, @b0s said I should tag him when I make a post and in one way, this song is for him, likewise everyone who is my friend on Hive.
This song is a nice one which I found so sweet and amazing, I actually had fun with it while recording. Though I am not perfect, at least I tried my best and will leave this for you guys to give your review on it.
Just like in the song, a good friend listens and gives you that space to express your feelings while they put down their shoulder for you to lean on. A good friend will offer good advice and guidance on how to do things while encouraging you. I have met these kinds of friends here in this space and I am dedicating this song to them. I wouldn't be tagging them, but I know you know yourself, especially through the way we interact, gist, laugh and share our feelings with each other. I couldn't have asked for more from you guys because you are just too amazing for me.
There are sweet souls that have been helpful to me in areas I needed help on. Thanks to Hive for bringing them to my path. Every day, I love chatting with them and they never got tired of welcoming me too into their arms. They are always ready to support you and give you the information you need. Through Hive, I have met with people who try to caution me not to go overboard which I am grateful to them. No good friend would do such a thing. In fact, they are happy when you get into a mess or are punished. This is not the kind of friend I want. A friend who will be happy stabbing me in my back, no, I wouldn't even meet them.
So, to you reading and listening to my rendition, thank you for supporting me. God bless you 🙏

Let's defeat the distance is another beautiful theme chosen for this week's hive open mic. In my understanding, this theme is talking about a situation where distance is kind of a barrier to communication or love between two or more people, and defeating it could only be subjected to uniting together and ignoring how far the distance may be. Another way to it is, though two people might be distant physically, but with the connection of the heart, they are defeating the distance while they keep the love flowing and growing more in them.
I searched for a song to relate to this theme, and most of you might notice I sing gospel more than any other genre of songs, and my favourite artists I pick songs are from Hillsong Worship and Bethel Music. Their songs are amazing ones that keep me focused and inspired especially being assured of God's promises and love.I chose the song titled “Come to Me” by Jenn Johnson from Bethel Music which I found to relate well with the theme. The message in the song invites the listeners to come close to God no matter the distance between God and man. When we move closer to God, it is a channel of bridging the distance between us and the Most High. The only way where we can seek God's presence and His comfort is when we move closer to Him even when we are physically separated by distance or other hurdles.
Aside from that, the song talks about finding rest and peace in God´s warmth which can be seen as a way to overcome emotional distance or disturbance when we feel trouble, confusion or unrest in our mind. So, in all, Come to Me is a song that calls us into God´s embrace and overcoming whatever distance might separate us from enjoying His love and peace He has provided for us. Above all, to find the strength we need to face life´s challenges.I hope you enjoy this rendition of mine. The lyrics can be found here — Come to Me.Thanks for your time on my blog.

The theme for this week is titled "The God we worship". Hello community, how are you all doing? It's another privilege to be able to present again this week with other amazing musicians I have been able to visit their posts.
Image taken from the original postLast night I got a call that a cousin of mine died. We were told she was fetching water and fell, and that was the end of her journey in life. Does it mean she has gotten to her destination? I was devastated yesterday night as I couldn't go back to sleep again. Then, I looked up and said, "God, you understand what just happened but it doesn't stop us from worshipping you". The truth is that, though it's always painful to lose someone close to us, we want to believe God knows why things happen this way which is unknown to human beings. God will not because of that stop being the Almighty.
This theme made me remember the story of the three Hebrews in the Bible and how they refused to serve or bow to an image created by Nebuchadnezzar. He got angry and ordered them to be thrown into the fire. The trio said something to the king, "The God we serve and worship is able to deliver us from you, and if He doesn't, we won't bow to your god". This made him angry and they were thrown into the fire. But there was the fourth man who was the Holy Spirit. Their faith moved God and came to deliver them.
When we choose to worship God truthfully and with a sincere heart, He knows how to protect His own and give them the best life they wished for. God is Holy and great and those who would worship Him must believe in His name too.
I got this amazing song that goes well with the theme and was from Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson, titled "Holy Forever". I enjoyed singing this song last night. Perhaps I wouldn't have participated if I have been informed of my cousin's death earlier before I did the video because right now, I am still not in a good mood. With my heart heavy, I tried to bring my presentation to the community.
You can click the lyrics of the song here.

What a wonderful theme for this week's Hive Open Mic which was chosen by @wbrandt, and translated into English, “To the Extreme”.
Designed on InshotThis particular song has been in my mind to present but just couldn't get a theme related to it until it finds its way for this week. Hillsong has been one of my favourite artists because of how heavenly those songs they present are. Their musical style is always to the extreme when sending it out to everyone to listen to and be connected to the realm of the spirit.
The driving beat, vocals, and power instrumentation always create a sense of intensity and urgency that matches the theme of every lyric. I feel hopeful and encouraged whenever I listen to their songs and I would say, they are bringing souls to the kingdom of God through music.
I did a cover for the song, titled "King of Kings" and the lyrics of this song express the extreme power and glory of Jesus Christ who is called the King of Kings. King of Kings emphasizes Jesus' majesty and sovereignty over all things that have been created, and His absolute victory over sin and death. Jesus conquered death and that is the reason we are given life in abundance.
Extreme power and authority were present in the whole lyrics. From being hopeless to having the son of God coming to earth to die for us, having not despised the cross to redeem the whole creation and reconciling the lost back to the Father. This is an amazing sacrifice from Jesus the King of Kings, Hallelujah to the three in one and His Majesty.
I believe this song would find its way into your heart to understand how loving and gracious the Almighty Father is and He has restored every soul that has come to Him.

Hi everyone in the community. It's Princessbusayo bringing to us a cover song relating to the week's theme that was chosen by one of our spotlights, @stickupboys titled “DNA”.
https://images.ecency.com/p/8DAuGnTQCLptZgjHUrRAJGcW4y1D4A5QVJJ7zjzqqKdfVHSS6NapSCC8BmeEpY8wciwfdbzb4GYd3Huz2Bhq5n7ddWUnHLoK7JkA1JK19ucnpquqmPpPp98VYwnUCz9SoM4uLfbde8f4tdzXiQ6kXHkWeLrQZ2D34u5JDg7UmpS.webp?format=webp&mode=fitHe explained what it means which is that, as humans, there is still this connection that keeps us together even when we go through the bad and good times. Just as a DNA test is used to identify a biological relationship, there is always this connection between parents and their children through running the test.
No matter what we are passing through, if we truly love ourselves, we would always watch out for each other despite the hurdles because of the gene running in us. A mother can't neglect her only child because he or she is wayward or behaving abnormally. A saying in my tribe goes thus: there is no way a child can be so wicked, stubborn, and cruel, he or she will never be pushed to the lion's den to be killed. Children will always be loved and nurtured by their parents no matter what they have done wrong because of the cordial connection between them. Love is always strong.
I chose this song because it relates to the theme of being connected even during challenges. The title of the song is "It'll be okay" by Shawn Mendes. I enjoyed singing the cover song as it makes me understand more the depth of the love the artist is talking about.
Among couples, there will always be misunderstanding and sometimes, it feels as if there is no road because things aren't the way they used to be. But you decide to leave even though the love is there. You feel the connection and you are only requesting a break or separation when you both have agreed and come to a compromise, you decide to let go but you are always connected wherever you may be.
When two people are coming together, they are from different worlds (backgrounds), and having to agree takes a whole lot of discipline, determination, sacrifice, commitment, etc but when it's going beyond what you cannot handle together, the best is to just give yourselves space to heal, still knowing that the connection is still there and nothing is ever going to change it. In all, we all want the best for ourselves.
I hope this song gives you a deep meaning about the theme.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

It's amazing to be able to present my singing skill to the community this week and the theme is "Tú Estás Conmigo” which in English, is translated as "You are with me".
This is Princessbusayo doing a cover song of “Touch of Heaven” by David Funk from Bethel Music. Just like the song, David describes a deep spiritual connection with God, which he addresses as "You" throughout the song. The song relates with the theme of the week “You are with me” which connotes the idea that the spiritual connection with God is constant and forever present even in the most difficult and challenging times of our lives.
Listening to the first line of the song, David expresses his desire to be close to God and to feel His presence. This can also be applied to us too. Believing that God is with us will create and open our desires to remain in His presence and continue in having that close connection we ever wanted.
Touch of Heaven is a metaphor that means the feeling of being connected divinely. When you listen and think deeply in the chorus, the phrase “You are with me” was repeatedly emphasized and it's the idea that God is by our side, no matter what happens to us.
Just like the song, its message sends comfort to us, especially those going through a tough time, or perhaps you are feeling lost or lonely, remember that God is with you. We are also to exercise our strong faith and understanding that He is always watching us and His presence is always available in our lives.
You can find the lyrics of the song here.

Seeing the week's theme got me beaming with a smile because it's all about going traditional with music. Hello, it's Princessbusayo in the community. Thanks to @bertrayo for choosing this theme, "Traditional Music"
Image designed on CanvaI had wanted to go for a Yoruba hymn since it's traditional, but while searching for another choice on YouTube, I got one from a user who only played the trumpet with African praise songs while I listen to the sound of the trumpet and went along singing the interpretation.
In my tribe, we are fond of using any musical instrument to sing songs while the audience would listen and interpret them. It's always fun especially when it's talking drum. I love this particular instrument but I couldn't find it except this particular one which I decided to go with.
The African YouTuber played four praise songs with his trumpet while I interpret them in my presentation. These are common Nigerian songs we sing in church and even at home, especially during morning and night devotion to give thanks to God Almighty.
These are the songs I followed through with the guy playing the trumpet;
Naturally, these are thanksgiving songs which makes us give glory to God for all He has done for us.
The first song says that in every situation, God is the most high. We have even given it more styles in saying that, when it's convenient for us or not, He is the most high. When we eat or do not eat, He is the most high. When things are good and when they turn bad, He is still the most high.
This song reminds us that in every situation, we should give thanks to Him. This is something I never fail to do each day because no matter who I am, where I am, or what becomes of me, it doesn't make God stop being God. He doesn't stop Him from reigning.
Sincerely, it was a wonderful time last night when I was recording this video. Thank God I had a ring light as there was no light at first, but while singing, the light came on but it didn't stop me since I had a ring light to make it brighter.
Aside from that, the reason I bought this stuff was that I didn't want any distraction from my neighbours when recording during the day and I decided to start doing this at night when everywhere would be silent, quiet and peaceful. Whether there is light or not, as long as I have this small ring light, I am good to go.
I hope you enjoy my presentation. Thanks for your time on my blog.

It's a beautiful week for the Hive Open Mic week 151 edition which the theme was chosen by our spotlight @deeanndmathews and it's titled "Faith, Hope and Love". I tagged these three as the ingredients of humankind in the Christian race.
This is Princessbusayo presenting to you another beautiful song from Jenn Johnson, titled "Oh praise the name".
Faith, Hope and Love are the greatest virtues that represent values and define the relationship between God and humankind. Faith is the confidence in what we hope for that will happen. It assures us of things we cannot see.
Hope is the feeling of an expectation and desiring a certain thing to happen. Love on the other hand is the clear picture that we have God residing in us. God is love and those who must exhibit this virtue must be for God because it is the power that allows us to do the work of Jesus.
Hope is the fuel that keeps the Faith in us alive in our quest to find Love.
The song I picked portrays these three ingredients of a Christian. The song talks about the death of Jesus Christ and how He rose on the third day with robes of white as He ascended to heaven.
Just like the first paragraph of the song, looking up to Calvary by faith while we hope that He would someday come for His saints and take them home. Our hope as Christians is to reign with Him in heaven where we would forever sing His praise because He is our Lord and God.
His love made Him die for our sins and even on the cross, His last word was "It is finished". This means He has taken all our sufferings away and this is our hope in Him that we are made whole.
I hope you enjoy my presentation ✌️

It's a pleasure coming around to share with the community what I have been able to perform to my ability. It's always with Joy I devote time to sing and share my entry with all the wonderful musicians here on Hive. It started as a challenge but it became something I have keyed myself in as it gives me pleasure doing this with focus and passion. This is the reason I love going for songs that inspires, honour and glorify God.
The theme for this Hive Open Mic week 150, is titled "OUR VIRTUE" chosen by our spotlight @musicandreview. It's a beautiful theme from you 👏
Looking at what Virtue means in the Christian meaning, it is defined as the unique biblical characteristics given as commands by Jesus to love God and to love each other. This definition can be found here.
Also, love is the greatest virtue we, as humans, should possess in us. To love is to respect and show affection to someone and in this regard, I am respecting and glorifying God with this beautiful song from Hillsong titled "You are my strength."
Hillsong worship is one of my favourites artist of all time and I feel great knowing and singing their songs to worship my maker. Their songs are amazing and it helps you channel your time and real self to God Almighty.
Having love as a virtue is the greatest thing ever because it's a command from God to love Him and to love our fellow human beings.
Through loving God, I sang this song to share my moment with Him, acknowledging that He is my strength and there is no other strength elsewhere. He is my hope and there's no hope elsewhere, and in the fullness of His grace, in the power of His name, He lifts me up. How great is that!
Without going further, I would leave you to enjoy the song which I downloaded an instrumental beat on YouTube to flow and sing along.
You can check the lyrics here.

Happy Tuesday and Valentine's Day to all musicians on Hive. I hope we are enjoying the love spread around on this beautiful day.On this special day, I have got an amazing song I did record for the Hive Open Mic which the theme says "Light of the world".
Image designed on CanvaLauren Daigle has been one of my favorites' artists and I love every of her songs. This particular one isn't an exception which I picked because it matched the theme for this week.
Light of the world is a beautiful song that talks about the son of God who is the Messiah. In a world where hope has been lost and families seem not to believe in the wonders of God, this song came as a light to us knowing that when we know the Messiah who is also called Emmanuel — God with us, we have light already in us.
Jesus is the light of the world and anyone who follows and does His will shall be in the light. This means even darkness cannot comprehend this shining light.
This song is a reminder that even when all hope is lost, we can still experience light when we embrace the King of kings.
I have the lyrics written in the video already and there is no need to type them here. I hope you enjoy my presentation and I would gladly welcome all comments.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

It's another beautiful moment to share with you all an amazing song I performed for this Hive Open Mic week #147 which the theme was chosen by our spotlight, @hopestylist, titled "A GRATEFUL HEART."
Each day, I never for once stopped being grateful to the one who giveth life and soul in which we are breathing every second. And for the one who never sleeps nor slumber has always been around us, watching over us as we open our eyes to see another bright and shining day. At least it is the one who wakes up to another day that will remember the goals ahead of him or her. What about the dead? Do they remember anything again? Do they remember they have a goal to be achieved?
These are something we need to always be reminded of and be grateful for. A grateful heart acknowledges those tiny things as from above and, not by his or her power. It is God who made us who we are today and it is the one to whom we should show our gratitude (genuine).
I have always been a fan of Elevation Worship and I enjoyed their amazing songs, which this particular one I did isn't excluded. When I sing this song, it helps me give thanks to God and realize His mercy, love, and grace over me. Who would have ever loved me the way He has done, except for my parents. I think God's love supersedes wherein, it is unconditional and never fails.
Though our parents are like gods to us and they love us unconditionally too, I won't fail to see God as the first who has shown me great love to make me a child to them. He could have made me come from a family that never cares. He could have made me an animal in the wilderness, but no, He chose to make me a living being and all I am today, all I have achieved today has not been out of His love for me.
I give thanks for all He has done in my life that I never allow a day to go by without me understanding how much it is to be grateful, because in doing that, God is ever pleased to grant all other requests you have brought to Him. He never fails me in that aspect as I get answers to what I asked from Him, except for those things He wouldn't do because He feels it could harm me later. Since God knows what is good for us, wouldn't that surprised us to see His love bringing things that are good to us?
The Bible says all things work together for good to those who love God. Remember, when we love God, we would be conscious of showing gratitude to Him every day of our lives and He in return would always make things work for good for us. The only secret to getting all things from God is to show gratitude, and not in pretence, but genuinely.
This is a wonderful song I did with the lyrics written in the video and so, I don't need to include the lyrics here anymore. I want you to flow along while singing with me.
Thanks for your time on my blog.

It's my entry to the week's Hive Open Mic #146 and the theme says "La Union".
I do believe in the power of unity; working together in love will surely make us achieve a lot in a short time, instead of hating on each other. This wouldn't be the first time hearing about this as we all want to live in a world where we all would be united and love ourselves rather than treat each other in disgust.
When we talk about the union, this is a group of people in a society with common interests and purposes. When a purpose between a group of people is achieved successfully without any disagreement or misunderstanding, it means they understood the power of unity and working together peacefully.
Some weeks ago, our goal was to make the whole house clean; a six-bedroom flat with a dining and sitting room. It would be a big work for one person to do it alone as it will surely weigh him or her down. To avoid this, I decided to call those available at home, and we were four young ones as we excluded the elder ones. I split the job differently according to what our abilities can carry and within a few hours, we were done.
If there'd been disagreement from the beginning; some refusing to take a portion because they feel it is beyond them, we wouldn't have been able to achieve our purpose of cleaning the whole house. We all did it unitedly and everyone went to take his or her rest at the right time.
When, as a group of people with similar interests come together to achieve a purpose, though we are different, we can still work together and get things done and get a good result with love.
Love should be found among us. We are one, though we are different and come from different parts of the world. Coming together to share our dreams is something we can do amicably without any conflict happening. It is best to help each other.
The song I chose speaks of Unity and it's titled "We are Unity" by Joelle. I hope you listen and enjoy my presentation.
Here is the original song from YouTube which you can watch too.

It is another beautiful moment for the Hive Open Mic week 144 and the theme says “Melodic Dose”.Songs are melodious when the lyrics are inspiring, encouraging and great. I had to choose this song which is one of my favourites — Reckless Love and this is because it is a song that speaks about everything to me, it speaks about the true love of God.
This song is pleasant and makes a tuneful sound. This makes it more melodious and sensible to the ear of the one listening to it.
Last week, this particular song kept coming to my mind and I don't know the reason. But I love it as I kept thinking of how God has loved me till this moment. Everyone in the house had no choice but to start singing with me when they saw how continuously I was singing it. I was glad!
I had recorded this song on Tuesday when I tried to make it early so I would edit and post it yesterday but while at it, I mistakenly pressed the delete button. I wanted to cry but I shunned it and made plans to do another one. Seriously, it was a good one for me but I think this comes out a little better.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful song.
Lyrics; Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life into me
You have been so, so kind to meOh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeahSource

Here comes another week for the Hive Open Mic, week 143 with the theme Voice of Hope.Everyone needs something to assure them that all will be well after going through life's trauma, challenges, and tribulation and something we need to hold firmly to keep us going and living is the assurance of hope. When there is life, there is hope.
Many people already lost hope in a particular thing because they keep trying and failing, but there is someone who we need to look up to, who will ignite hope in us and that is God.
I chose this song by Hillsong, titled “Better than life” as it speaks of Hope and standing on God's promises and love. When we understand how truly God loves us and would want the best for us, no matter what we go through, there is hope for us because there are no challenges or problems that are permanent.
We need to realize that God will never leave His children wandering around but will gladly hold us in His arm bringing to our understanding that He knows the best for us and we should be hopeful that things would be better.
I hope you enjoy my presentation ✌️
Lyrics for Better than Life
Better than the riches of this world
Better than the sound of my friend's voices
Better than the biggest dreams of my heart
And that's just the start
Better than getting what I say I need
Better than living the life that I want to
Better than the love anyone could give
Your love is
You hold me now in Your arms
And never let me go

Hello, wonderful musicians in the community. Princess is here with her presentation relating to the week's theme: “Nuestro Destino.” In English, it means Our Destiny. It's already week 142.
Image designed on CanvaWhen we talk about destiny, it is what happens to us during our life and what will happen in the future. Our destiny is in our hands and it is determined by the choice and actions we take in life. This means that we are the masters of our destiny.
When love brings two people together, despite the rough journey between both, one way or the other, they cross paths and be together. We term this as destiny or fate.
I chose this song by Jim Brickman titled “Destiny” as it speaks about love and how two people were meant to be together, no matter what happens.
The way love happens between two people sometimes baffles me and makes me believe that destiny can never be denied, though it can be delayed. So, no matter how the journey is for those who are meant to be together if they are destined to make a family together, nothing is ever going to stop them.
Love will always find its way to people who choose to believe that they are meant to be together because love, faith and destiny are somehow intertwined with each other.
There were a lot of mistakes in this video before I finally came up with this one. It's not easy but I gave it my best and I will be waiting for your comments as this can only encourage and make me know I am doing the right thing. Also, I wouldn't mind some criticism too because I want to keep learning.
LyricsWhat if I never knew

This feeling in my heart
How did this come to be
I don't know how you found me
But from the moment I saw you
Deep inside my heart, I knew

Hola, maravillosos músicos en la comunidad. Princess está aquí con su presentación relacionada con el tema de la semana: “Nuestro Destino”. En inglés, significa Our Destiny.
nunca tuve
Este sentimiento en mi corazón
¿Cómo llegó a ser esto?
no se como me encontraste
Pero desde el momento en que te vi
En lo profundo de mi corazón, lo sabía

In my tribe, they say “seranko seniyan...” meaning like animals like human beings. Human beings and animals are vastly different from each other but sometimes, I do see some traits in most animals that makes me say humans act this way too. Animals cannot talk but humans do. But in the aspect of feelings, animals also are found in such emotion. What makes you think of an animal e.g goat where, when you place something down, when the goat touches or eats it, will run when any human shows up but will not run when you intentionally place its food to eat, no doubt, even when a being is coming, they (goats) won't run away because they know it is their food.
I recorded this video when I arrived in the village some days ago and I saw my cousin forcing the mother goat onto the floor so the baby can suck its breast. They said the goat had not been giving her baby food since she gave birth to her. I wonder what kind of cruel mother would do such a thing. You can hear my voice calling the goat selfish because that is what it is.
I sat down and was thinking about the scenario and this is mostly found among human beings too where a mother would dislike her child, perhaps when she was giving birth, something bad happened, let's say the husband died when the child came to life or someone close to the mother died while still pregnant and because of that, she had to transfer the pain and aggression on the baby because to her, it was when she came to life, her husband who is the father of the child died and in one way would be heartless not to care for the child of her own.
Some mothers can be so heartless and cruel to start inflicting pain and suffering on their child till he or she grows up. Some will say their presence makes them remember the bad incident that happened.
I watched a movie some years back where the father disliked this child right from when she was born till she grew up to fend for herself. According to the father, it was during childbirth the mother died and so, anytime she is observing her birthday, this man will beat the hell out of her because it was at that period she remembers his wife and what happened that day.
I thought the same for this baby goat. Is it that the father left the mother alone and ran away? 🤣🤣🤣 I was even told they were two she gave birth to but one died in her stomach. Was that the reason she refused to feed this one? Is it her fault the other baby died? 😂
The baby goat is already 6 days old and the mother refused to give her food. She was feeding the first child who is already a year old but neglected this baby. Why? This is from a heartless mother 😬 This mother is practicing unequal love.
Funny enough, she is eating too much food because she is always being provided but has refused to give her baby food from her breast. The baby isn't eating any food other than sucking from her mother's breast. This is why my dad and cousin had to take it with force so she could feed her child so she doesn't die of hunger.
Yesterday made me realize that goats listen when they talk to them. I was peeling some yams for lunch and my dad got angry because of this mother's behaviour. He took a big stick and started beating her, telling her to stand still for her baby to suck from her. She obeyed instantly.
This means she knew what she was doing is wrong and bad. I was just laughing when it was happening. My dad was beating her mercilessly as if he was disciplining a child. He told her that if the baby die, she would be killed that same day. The mother goat stopped crying and the baby ate a lot as my Dad stood till the baby goat was satisfied. This is how they will continue with the method until the child grows to start surviving on her own.
My Dad was so funny yesterday. The goat knew my daddy does not take it easy on her, unlike my cousin who would still be caressing and petting her but will not oblige. It hurts me yesterday when I see the baby roaming about without its mother with her. I could see she is already lean and I hope she doesn't die because if it happens, my dad will not let the mother stay a day before killing her. Such a bad mother. Does she love the first child more than this baby?

This is another beautiful theme in the Hive Open Mic community which the theme says “WINTER.” We all know what the winter season means and what it brings. Winter season is always the coldest time of the year and presently, we call it the Harmattan period in my country. This is the moment when everything changes for both humans and animals. This affects people, animals, and trees too and this is the period where trees and plants go dormant because there is no water to keep them alive. Also, we know this is the time those who already stored up food will start to enjoy it as it gets harder to get or find food. My grandma's goats are facing the same challenge right now. They hardly get enough food for themselves during this time and this definitely would continue like this till the end of the season.Apart from the above illustration, I could link this also to the time and season we are facing some challenges because even the Bible says there is time and season for everything. That means, time to cry and time to laugh will surely occur but the good news is that God has promised to make things work out in His own time. We should be patient as He works in and through us.When we are patient and trusting in Him, we would forever hold onto Him because He created us and would not see us facing different kinds of hurdles in life. Even at this period, God sent His son to save us and what He will do, He will do it in His own time. This is why I chose this beautiful song by Hillsong, titled “Seasons” to remind us that God is still there to attend to us. God will do His work at His appropriate time and for this, we should be assured that His promise is always like a seed that will germinate at the best time. God sent His son many years ago and today, we are experiencing the reason behind Him sending His son to come and die for our sins.Lyrics for the song “Seasons” by Hillsong.Like the frost on a rose

Oh how nature acquaints us

Welcome to week 140 of the Hive Open Mic 🎤 which the theme says “The Sea (Caribbean).”I chose a song by Alexandra Porat titled “A million dreams”.**The sea symbolizes a calm presence. A place one can visit to reflect on his or her past and be inspired to look and focus on the future and believe that when we are committed to our dreams, we will surely achieve our aims.
Success comes with a dream and actualizing it requires positive thinking. This is why when we visit the sea, we would only look back to the past, appreciating how far we have come and channelling our focus into the future.
When we crave peace around us, we won't even allow the judgement of others to take us away from seeing the big picture about success and we will come to find the right way to go about it which is calmness in your spirit.
I believe this song relates well with the theme and I hope you enjoy my cover presentation.
[Chorus]
Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams are all it's gonna take
Our million dreams for the world we're gonna make

Hello everyone in the community!!!
It feels so good to be here again with my voice singing as usual with amazing musicians in the community. The theme for this week's Hive Open Mic 🎤 138 is titled “Magic” which was chosen by our spotlight @zullyscott
The first time I saw the theme, I have been searching for the best song to relate to it. I found one but my mind wasn't settling with it not until yesterday when I bumped into a sweet one on YouTube. I quickly bounced into action and rehearsed until I was sure of giving my best so that I don't fumble or fuck up.
This is my first time coming across this song by a beautiful Nigerian artist called Aramide and the title of the song is Magic. Just like the week's theme. The song is so sweet and romantic and I hope I gave it my best. You will be the judge once you listen to my presentation and I would be here, waiting to hear from you all.
Love is magical especially when you found the right one. Sometimes, it surprises me to see how two people (opposite sex) come together to fall in love for the first time and before you know it, they have gone far into the relationship, relating well and helping each other grow.
When you meet someone whose heart collides with yours and found out that you have something in common with each other, it feels like magic because you believe there is a strong chemistry between you both.
Love is all about fighting for each other, supporting each other, travelling places together and working things out together. That is magic because two people have come together to make it work out well.
When there is true love and so magical, both won't be able to live without each other because you have come to learn how to be united together and until you see each other, a day won't go without feeling the vibe and emotion in love.
Let me leave you to enjoy the song and here is the original song from YouTube.

Holla, Hive Open Mic Community!!!
This is another moment for me to showcase my singing ability in the community and I feel excited doing this. The theme for this week was chosen by our spotlight @jaydr titled “HEALING.”
I don't need to start thinking about the song to choose because a particular one dropped in my heart to sing for this theme and I picked it. The artist Lauren Daigle has always been amazing when it comes to singing songs that heal and encourage everyone going through different difficulties in life.
There are many times I have been wounded in my heart especially thinking about my present life and when I listen to any of Lauren's songs, it lifts my soul and takes my worry away and then, I remember where God says He will be with me wherever I am or would be and that I should not be worried at all since He is in control. Songs like this have a way of channelling my focus back to God and this is why I don't underestimate the power of healing songs like this specific one I chose.
The title of the song is Rescue and this is a hopeful song that makes us remember God's promises that no matter what we are going through, He is always there to rescue us by sending His army to find us even in the middle of our darkest night.
The reason for this song was to make people who are going through tough times remember that there are better days ahead and to face the truth that it is only God who is capable of taking us out of the dungeon of life and bringing us into the light through His saving hand.
Some people need healing from heartbreak, depression, disappointment, anxiety, fear and so on. This is one of the songs to inspire and let them realize that God loves them and He will come for them at the right time.
With God, He can heal our infirmities once we trust in Him. There is nothing impossible for Him and so, this is why I chose this song for those going through challenges in their lives that they find it difficult to talk to someone. You can always talk to God and believe in His ever unfailing promises for us.
Lyrics for rescue.
*You are not hidden
There’s never been a moment
You were forgotten
You are not hopeless
Though you have been broken
Your innocence stolen*

*No estás oculto
Nunca ha habido un momento
fuiste olvidado
no eres un desesperado
Aunque te han roto
Tu inocencia robada*

It's my entry to the Hive Open Mic 🎤 week 128 which the theme says; ‘Desamor’ and in English means “Heartbreak”. I will be presenting a song which matches the theme, titled “Turn back time” by Daniel Schulz.
This song took me many attempts before doing the final one. I tend to be nervous when recording myself even though I have tried taking away my shyness, yet, there is still room for slight mistakes, but I believe I did my best with this particular song. I never knew I could sing it to the end as I did.
This song is a beautiful song I came to love since I listened to it, as it brings back memories of my past relationships, especially with my first love. I have been heartbroken a lot of times with different guys but all they ever wanted is sex. They would tell me that if I love them, I would give them what they want.
In all truth, I was still very young then and haven't yet discovered myself and my values. I never succumbed to their offers because I know what is ahead of me. I never allowed that to bring me so low to ruin my purpose because I believe I would probably be a single mother or have issues in my marriage, but here I am today as I waved that moment off and looked forward to the best love who wouldn't use sex as a standard to love in my relationship.
Heartbreak is a painful thing to experience as it demoralizes one because of the kind of love you showed to them. You expected to be loved back but the reverse is the case here. The best is to forget and let go of the hurt and pain it has caused and see the brighter side of life because we would come to realize we are more than enough for the true person who will love and value us more than we'd expect from anyone.
LYRICS FOR TURN BACK TIME We used to run red lights and never look back
We used to chase long nights, nothing wrong with that
Cause I loved you and I lost my mind
And now, I try to leave it, oh, I try
But you still haunt me no matter where I go And you hated my lasagna but you came back for more
You got me running circles in your favorite store
And I lost you and I lost my mind
And now, I try to leave it all behind
But I still see you no matter where I go Continue the lyrics here
Thanks for your time reaching the end of my post.

It's another Hive Open Mic week 127 with the theme “TEVAZU” which in English means “Humility-Modesty”.
This particular song I chose to sing by Hillsong titled “Here I am to worship” is a song that speaks about the awesomeness of God in my life, and how I have always enjoyed coming to His presence with humility, knowing fully well how He has kept me this far.
So many times, I have known that with His power and strength, I have been able to achieve many things in my life. Whatever I have today has been by His grace and mercy, and this has made me always sing with a humble heart to appreciate and tell of His beautiful and amazing wonders in my life.
When you know how someone is higher in authority and capable of meeting your needs, wouldn't it feel great when you can show a sign of humility and respect to such a person?
Being humble takes away pride from you, in a way that shows that you truly bring yourself so low knowing that there is nothing you have become without the grace of God.
Every moment I praise God, I surrender myself in total humility and awe to Him because He is the source of everything. The best example of a person who sincerely showed humility while on earth was Jesus Christ, and one thing we can give back to Him is humbling ourselves in worship with a sincere heart of gratitude.
Lyrics of the song: *Light of the world, You step down into darkness
Open my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you.*

Here is my entry to the Hive Open Mic 🎤 week 126 which the theme is “Trusting the process.”.
I remembered when I was young, I used to be scared to step out because I felt I wasn't beautiful until I started seeing the beauty in me. I was growing up and I realized “Growth is a process” and it is meant for us to trust the process as we keep getting mature day by day.
Many people are like me in different ways. They are afraid of showing who they are to the world, and something we never know is that no one will see what we have to offer, it is our responsibility to reveal what we have and can offer for the world to truly see our worth. Sometimes, we feel it takes time when we see others doing well and have gone far.
I read @hopestylist's post yesterday on how she was introduced to writing, but never knew she could do it until she joined. And seeing her today, I can say she is doing amazing as a writer would. Her writing journey was a process and she trusted while she kept going till today. I believe she is proud of who she has become.
This is something we need to understand too because when we see others have gone far, we do not want to know what they have gone through, but we feel we can start and see result in just one night. There is a need to trust the process while we get at it, and do our best to always improve.
This is the reason I sang Tatiana's song titled “Like you” as a way to encourage us and help us understand that there can never be anyone in the world like us. There can never be someone like you. So, we have to get up and make the world know what we are capable of doing because no one will see or know us where we have kept ourselves.
Lyrics for Like you.
*You got to get up
You got to get up and make a move
'Cause the world will never see you until you do
No, they don't really care what you're going through
So you got to show them, baby*

This is Princessbusayo and it's my entry to the Hive Open Mic, week 125 which the theme is “Nothing is impossible.”
We all are familiar with the scripture that says with God, all things are possible. This has always been in my heart, and I believe there is nothing too hard for God to do, except He doesn't want to.
One thing we should understand is that God can do all things, but He will pause some because He knows what we need at every different time of our lives.
There is time and season for everything and many times, we feel those tasks ahead of us are too big and because we have been so clouded with doubt and disbelief, those things will never manifest.
God created all things, both in heaven and earth, and is there anything He cannot do? He is the creator of the Universe. So, we need to come to the realization that whatever it is, He can change to our benefit.
This is the reason I chose this song by Cain, titled “Yes, He can.”
Humans wondered if God is faithful because of what they are going through that is bigger than them, but sincerely, we need to look back to how He parted the sea, moved the mountain, and deliver His people from the wilderness. If He could do all these by His power and might, He can do more.
Sometimes, we have been too far away from Him and it seems like He isn't answering. There is a passage in Isaiah that says God isn't deaf or his hands shortened to deliver us, but our iniquities have stopped us from experiencing His blessings and miracles.
We can always run back to Him anytime and he is ready to accept us. Everything is possible. So, believe and have faith in God.
Lyrics for Yes, He can. *Sometimes I wonder, is He faithful?
Does He see me in my trouble?
Does He understand?
Sometimes I question if He's able
Can He rescue, can He save me

IT'S MY ENTRY TO THE HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK 124. THIS IS PRINCESSBUSAYO. The theme for this week is “MOONSHINE”
Moon does not produce its light, but it shines because it reflects the sun's light. The moon pops up in different places and at different times because it orbits the Earth.
This reminds me of when we were growing up. We would always think the moon is always following us, and like other children, we would always love it, as we keep circling the whole place, thinking we are still being chased by the same moon.
The moon brings out the beauty of life as it inspires, especially listening to moonlight tales from our elderly ones at night. Stories being told at night, as we gather together to hear from life's experiences is always interesting as it gives us lessons to hold onto.
The moon shines and makes our world bright at night.
One fact about the moon is that, it is full of imperfections, but it stays beautiful and is a pleasure to watch. This is why we need to learn from the moon. Despite our imperfections, we should be calm and reflect the beauty in appearances. We should always shine in the darkness of life and give way to the path of light.
Just like we humans, the moon also goes through phases. So, we gotta embrace the changes in our lives without being scared of what differences they might bring.
This is why I chose this song by Lauren Daigle titled “Look up Child” to remind us that, even if we can't seem to get it right, God is there for us. We only need to stay still and listen to His voice as He speaks to us.
Just as Carl Sandburg quotes;
The moon is a friend for the lonesome to talk to.
Stay out and watch the moon as it gives and shines a light on you, and as it brightens up your mood and helps you trust in God.
Part of the Lyrics goes like this
*Where are You now
When darkness seems to win?
Where are You now
When the world is crumbling?*
Then, you can find the rest Here
For the moon's image in the background, I couldn't get a link from Canva but it was Zhanna Fort from pexels.com Thanks for your time.

This is my entry to the Hive Open Mic 🎤 week 123 which the theme is “A better world for all” which was chosen by @daniky.
A better world for all (everyone) including the black and white, short and tall, thin and fat, young and old etc. There is no exemption when it comes to having a better world filled with love, peace, unity, supporting one another, fighting for each other, showing kindness and sharing things equally.
This is why I picked this song by Mandarin titled “We all bleed the same.” There is a need for us to recognize that we are one, and there shouldn't be hatred among us. There shouldn't be joy in killing and slaughtering ourselves, all in the name of greed and fighting for who should sit on the throne or be in power.
The world is filled with shedding the blood of our fellows, and we are so happy doing them. We do not show feelings for the other person at all. We are quick to judge others due to racism, tribalism etc.
We all bleed the same and why would we be happy pointing fingers at each other and standing against one another? We need to stop and embrace ourselves with love and always remember that we bleed the same. We have got the same feelings in us, and blood flowing through our veins.
There is a need to stop and ask ourselves this question before taking up such a horrible act, “What if I am in his or her shoe? How will I feel?”
When we can understand this and practice empathy, it will be easier to show love and make peace reign among us.
We all want a better world without prejudice. A world where we don't have to mock or embarrass ourselves. A world where we come together, strive to survive together and in the end, we come to realize that we are one.
It is not in us to judge someone by the kind of clothes they wear or the colour of their skin. We shouldn't keep moving from left to right, trying to find fault, but to be able to feel others' pain and bring them closer to us.
We want a world where we would look out for each other. A world where someone's pain should be our concern and not turn a blind eye to their problems. Let's be our brother's keeper and we will surely enjoy the world we have made for everyone.

It's Princessbusayo in another week for the Hive Open Mic 122 and the theme says “Emotion.”
Right now, I am anticipating the future ahead. I am looking forward in a positive way to something that is going to happen.
When I saw this week's theme, I knew the right song to choose from my playlist and that is the song by Phillipa Hannah titled “Everything is possible”.
This is my best song whenever I am anticipating something great. I mean, something ahead of me and realizing that everything is possible with God makes me feel assured that I have the strength to take me there.
I have come to learn how to be content with everything I have now, seeing that God is there for me to make a way. No matter the circumstances that could delay my success and future, I believe with God, all things are possible because there is a saying that what God cannot do, does not exist.
So, this is why I am singing this song to remind me that even while I keep anticipating a great turnaround of events, I know it is possible with God because He made everything brand new.
I came to know of Murphy's Law from @jane1289 and here is how she put it
You started your day negatively, and you attracted more negatives. If anything can go wrong, it will go wrong.
Many times, when I wake up and the thought of how I would achieve the best in the future keeps invading my mind, and through that, I feel negative about everything because I assume there aren't enough resources for me to get to where I wanted for myself.
I forgot that what God cannot do does not exist.
This Song, when played over and over again, relieves me and makes me remember that there is nothing like impossibility with God.
So whenever I anticipate a good thing, and something coming that I thought won't be able to do, God's strength is enough for me.
This song reminds me that no matter what I am going through, it cannot stop God from doing His work.
This means whatever I think of in my mind would depend on how I view or see things. If I should think of the negative side of things, I would remain weak and my gaze will be away from the truth about God. So, I should always be positive every day I wake up and I will see how everything would work for my good.
You can find the lyrics of the song here.

Welcome to another week of the Hive Open Mic and this would be my presentation for week 121 with the theme titled “Amor de Familia” which in English translation means “Family's Love”.
The truth is that God wants the best for us and has given us a wonderful family where love abounds. A family that understands each other and is always looking out for each other.
The first thing that came to my mind was a family who found love in the end after going through a lot and while they meet Jesus, things turned around.
Choosing Matthew West's song wasn't by mistake because this song talks about GENERATIONAL BAGGAGE in some families.
Every family want to experience beautiful things together but there are some bad legacies like violence, mental illness, anger etc that have been left by their forefathers. They don't seem to find solutions to the problem so it doesn't keep continuing and extending to generations.
One thing about generational curse or baggage is that the innocent also suffers from it. They come to life to continue the fight and struggle they met. Something they do not know how it happened or how it came about.
When they encounter Jesus Christ, He brought hope and a new life to them and had to change the legacy because He doesn't want them to keep going that way and keep suffering.
I watched a movie last night and it's all about a young man who kept getting bad luck everywhere he went. Everything kept falling and he was about to give up when he met an old man who revealed the source of his problem to him. He was told to go to Jesus' feet and ask for mercy.
The man didn't know what his past generations has done and he was now suffering what he didn't know of. If he had accepted his fate and embraced the legacy being left for him, he would have to extend it and that would go on to as many new generations until someone stands up to revoke the curse.
When a family is doing fine, love will abound and there would be happiness. I hope we have a great family with Christ being the center of it all.

This is Princessbusayo again and it's another week for the Hive Open Mic, Week 120. The theme says;
MI FELICIDAD
This is a theme I love and know what it means “My Happiness” brings this Joy to my heart because after going through my playlist, I bumped into a beautiful song by Don Meon titled “He knows my name”.
Before I continue with this write-up, I would like to say there were a lot of factors surrounding this video which I wouldn't be able to narrate but I gave it my best too. My phone camera isn't good but it's still manageable.
Every one of us has where our happiness lies. We have things that make us happy and one of them which is very major is being alive. Staying alive should be happiness for everyone still living on earth because I would say we are all lucky and it's by God's grace. That alone should be happy for us.
Listening to Don Meon's song, I know truly that my happiness lies in the one who knows my name.
Doesn't it feel amazing to know that God knows everyone by their names? He made, formed, created and mould us. So, He recognizes everyone and calls us by our names.
He sees our minds and knows what we are thinking of right now. He sees through us because He is the mind reader. He understands those tears that fall from our eyes.
Even when no one sees those hidden tears, there's someone who sees them and says “I know you because I formed you”.
God is our maker
God is our Father
God is our creator
So, whatever we are going through, bringing out those silent tears, He can see them. He knows your thoughts and what you need right now.
Just believe in Him and know that God is your father and will never allow any circumstances to overcome you.
This is why I chose this sweet song to encourage us and make us know that God is still on the throne.
Lyrics for “He knows my name” I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands Click here to know more Thank you so much @hiveopenmic, the team and moderators of this community. This is always a great opportunity for me to hone my skill in singing and I am always trying my best with it.

This is my entry to another week of the Hive Open Mic 119 which the theme says;
“PREJUDICE”
After thinking of what song to go for this week's theme, I finally settled on this amazing song by CHIDINMA, a Nigerian artist titled “This love”. Then, I came up with my title just as seen in the title bar “Love without Prejudice.”
Love without prejudice means when you have no baggage, no hesitation and no condition to give all of yourself to someone without holding back but to love unconditionally.
This kind of love is so perfect with God, who is my everything. God has loved me without prejudice, despite my wrongs and sins. He didn't hold back nor give it a second thought but to love everything in me.
This is the kind of love Jesus was talking about in the book of Matthew. He was asked “which is the greatest commandment in the law?”, He said that the first is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind. Then He said the second is to love your neighbour as yourself.
You cannot love your neighbour if you do not willingly love God with everything in you. When you love people without fear or being biased or discriminating, you are living the rest of the law in the Bible and wouldn't be willing to break any of the commandments. You cannot love without prejudice and still think of inflicting pain on others.
LYRICS OF THE SONG
*What manner of man is this?
What kind of love is this?
Despite all my wrongs
You fought for me
You're patient with me
My father and king
Despite all my sins
I'm great in your eyes I can't believe this
Na me you love like this oo
With a grateful heart
I come to you I can't believe this
Na me you love like this oo
With a grateful heart
I come to you There is no love like this one
My defender
I'll praise you forever No love, like this one oo
My defender
I'll praise you forever* Check the rest of the lyrics here

THIS IS MY ENTRY TO THE HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK 118 AND THE THEME SAYS “LOVE HURTS”.
Background image and edited with my images on Canva
I decided to make something different for this week's performance and we used a nice background for it. I thought of going inside my school since there is an ongoing strike in my country, and every student has moved out of the school's hostel. I knew the school would be silent and quiet, except for a few people going in and out. I hope we gave it a try?
I chose this song as it fits perfectly into the theme and we started rehearsing last week until we made the final recording on Monday.
I and the lady on white tried making it a duet while the other one was our video lady who was recording us. I couldn't have asked for more because they came through when I needed them.
This song titled “Gone for Good” was sung by a Nigerian lady, Simi. She has been one of my favourite fans because of how she delivers her song with inspiring lyrics. One of them is “Duduke” which was dedicated to every woman expecting a bundle of Joy.
I got to know this heartbreak song and I enjoyed it because it's a song which speaks of being hurt in love.
It's always painful when you once love someone deeply but they decided to leave for some reason, but don't you think it's more painful when they come back thinking they still have a space in your heart? For me, when you are gone, you are gone for good and there wouldn't be a space for you anymore. I don't want to be hurt the second time.
Love hurts when you expect more from him or her, especially when you think you have done so much for them but they decided to betray or act in a wrong way to you. Love is sacrifice and whoever would love you should be ready not to see you cry because that is the worst experience someone could go through.
I have seen and heard many cases of people committing suicide because they were left alone in relationships or they were betrayed. It's so sad when we have been through different challenges together, and even gone through happy moments but in the end, you leave. As I said, when you are gone, it's forever and for good.
LYRICS
*The word around town
Is that, you're back in town
And I try not to think about it, I try
But it's been so long
And I, though I moved on
But now I doubt it, I do*
*I wonder why you even come
It's almost like you're having fun with me
But oh, if I set my eyes on you
It's unavoidable, I'll come undone
Oh, I thought you were gone for good*

Welcome to another moment for the Hive Open Mic. It's week 117 and the theme was chosen by @chosenfingers titled “True Friends”.
This theme made me remember my moment with my childhood friend and that made me choose this wonderful song by Dan Seals titled “One friend”. Sometimes, you should be grateful for the kind of friend you have in your life.
I said in one of my posts then that having just one friend is better than having multiple people as friends who aren't contributing to your life.
Here is my childhood friend that I can say believed in me, was there for me when I needed help and even when I was so down, especially losing someone so close to me to death, she stood by me.
I always thought you were the best
I guess I always will
I always felt that we were blessed
And I feel that way, still
This part of the song made me go back to memories. Yes, I would say she was and will always be the best. Our friendship is more than 15 years now and still counting. She is indeed God sent.
She knows how to calm me down. There was a time I had an issue with my Dad, he knows she is the only friend I have and went to meet her to talk to me. She came around and spoke to me truthfully and that was all. I never had such a good and true friend as her because she was always ready to believe in me and give me her counsel.
With this week's theme, I am so excited I can sing this song to appreciate those times we have been together. She is married with a cute son, Nathan (My godson).
I hope my entry would be counted in due to some circumstances surrounding it. It was raining when I was recording and my room was dark, plus no electricity. I had to do something irrespective of what was happening because if I didn't record then, I wouldn't be able to especially when it's getting towards the afternoon where noise would surely disrupt me. I did recorded this very early in the morning while others were still sleeping.
LYRICS I always thought you were the best
I guess I always will
I always thought that we were blessed
And I feel that way still Sometimes we took the hard road
But we always saw it through
If I had only one friend left
I'd want it to be you Sometimes the world was on our side
Sometimes it wasn't fair
Sometimes it gave a helping hand
Sometimes we didn't care

Here we come to another week in the Hive Open Mic community where we showcase our talents in singing with different and lovely voices all over the world. This is my entry to the week's theme.
The week's theme #116 says “Trumpet Sound”. I was at first, confused as I thought I wouldn't be participating but I decided to do something, at least to match up with this week's theme as I don't want to feel odd among many participants here.
I choose the song “You raise me” by Josh Groban. It's a very popular song that was released in 2001 but today, it's an inspiring and great song that will make you feel and believe in your inner spirituality and happiness.
This song is a powerful song through faith and a way of praising God especially when you are down, sad, or depressed, knowing fully well that God is available to raise you.
I sang along with the man (Fernando Lopez) who blew the trumpet and I don't know if I did well with my voice because the high pitch isn't for me 😂😂😂 I managed to stretch my voice.
As much as I sing in Soprano, I think I need to maintain my voice level and not go beyond my ability. Lol
Just focus on the song and not my voice please 😂😂
This made me remember a little girl who presented this same song in her church and she wanted to sing with the same voice and high pitch stuff used in the song. She could have just maintained and appreciated her voice but went beyond her ability. It was really funny, but the way she sang with passion made me forget her voice and listen carefully to those lyrics and it was so touching.
When my mom died, I thought I wouldn't further my education anymore because she was the one who shouldered more of the responsibilities for us when Dad wasn't having a stable job. I dusted my certificate and went in search of a teaching Job to survive even when I have made up my mind not to further again since I don't think the salary I would be collecting would be enough to sponsor myself.
I desired to go to the University because both my two sisters were already finishing University then. In one way I never expected, God raised me through my elder sister who sent me to school and took all responsibilities on me today, I am so grateful for the grace through my sister and I would proudly say God came through for me.
So, anytime I sing this song, it reminds me of my story.
LYRICS FOR THE SONG:
*When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me to more than I can be. Lyrics can be found here Thanks for reading*

Welcome to another week for the Hive Open Mic and we are in week #115.
I will be presenting a lovely song for the week's theme “Doing the work” and I chose a song by Brian and Jenn Johnson which is titled “YOU ARE THE ONE”.
(Image downloaded from Hive Open Mic community)
Doing the work which is the theme for the week is more or less like giving back to humanity what has been given to you. There is a need to extend your help to others once you have been helped because that is what makes up “love for humanity”.
Someone loves you, so why not love another back? You have been saved and when you are in the position to save another, remember if you weren't helped to the top, you wouldn't have been where you are.
According to the song by Johnson, this shows how God has loved us and we are to love our neighbours just as God has loved us. We are to continue doing the work and letting it reach everyone.
Just like the first part of the chorus that says;
Help me to love with open arms as you do......
The truth is that, as God has shown His love towards us, it is a necessity for us to show love to mankind and let the work of love keep growing among ourselves.
A man of God celebrated his birthday on the 6th of June, this year and all through his life, he has been preaching the gospel to the world and on his birthday, he was celebrated and mimicked just exactly as he has been doing.
For a man like that, he is sure of leaving behind a good legacy which others would continue doing the work of God through him forever and that would keep extending throughout the world. I felt loved in such a way and I am sure the man of God would be happy.
Let's keep doing the good works and as God has loved us, He expects us to keep loving everyone irrespective of who they are, as this is a sign of doing the work of God.
LYRICS OF THE SONG
Let me be filled
With Kindness, and compassion for the One
The One for whom You loved, and gave Your Son
For humanity; increase my love Help me to love with open arms, as You do
A love that erases all the lines, and sees the truth
Oh that when they look in my eyes, they would see You
Even with just a smile; they would feel the Father's love You can get the remaining lyrics here

READ ME FIRST!!!
WAIT!!!! BEFORE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO, PLEASE, DON'T LAUGH 🙃🙃🙃
Princess doesn't know how to dance but I tried anyway.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DREEMPORT 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DREEMPORT 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DREEMPORT 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I would have missed this fun part of the show and celebration if I hadn't visited discord to know what is happening. Yesterday afternoon, I just clicked the Discord App and I saw people saying "Congratulations Dreemport". I couldn't believe I almost miss it. Thank God I came at the right time.
So, I clicked the birthday and challenge post by @Dreemport and as usual, @Dreemsteem is always bubbling with surprises especially earning those sweet dream tokens alongside too.
We were told to dance... I read that part and seeing the huge prize, I didn't want to miss it but I felt I won't be able to dance because I am shy and also, I cannot dance.
Everyone knows the only song I can dance to is gospel music especially when there is a talking drum going with it. 🙄🙄🙄
As I was staring at the huge prize, I was trying to find a way to dance but I remembered having some dance steps on my Snapchat.
Yes!!! 💃💃 That would go with it, as long as I danced there..... I said to myself.
In the video, I posted two scenes. Each with 30 seconds clip and that makes it a minute. Even though I can't dance, I, at least enjoy my move and step.
If you observe the two videos, I was lean in one while in the other, I was fat...Did I eat double in the space of less than a year? Be the judge yourself 😂😂😂
The first video was taken on the 2nd of February, 2022, at 9:43 am. I asked a friend the name of the dance, she said it's “FOCUS”. This dance involves pointing out your hands and shaking your head. I guessed I did something better too.
You can see, I was putting on a secondary school uniform and plaited my hair into three parts as we had to dress like a college student.
I was in my final year and almost starting our final exams. For every final year student in Nigeria, there are always some activities for a week which we call FYB WEEK (Final Year Brethren Week).
That video was on a Wednesday as we did "BACK TO SCHOOL DAY" where we all dressed like young school girls and boys with socks and a water bottle.
That day, before I left home, I was so happy because I would soon be finishing my degree and I had to take some pictures and did a video.
Let me show you a full picture of how I was dressed that day
Me, with a pleating skirt on a white shirt, holding a fancy water bottle (this shows I am a big college girl 😂😂), with a stick sweet (how cute 😎), plaited my hair like a small girl's style, with a school bag I borrowed 😜 What again? The leggings sock😉
That makes me a complete secondary school student.
The second video was taken on the 14th of August, 2021.
I know there is a difference between the first and second video and all thanks to God.
The video was taken outside my hostel at 7:11 pm.
You can hear some noise in the background right?
Those are my neighbours cheering me up as I was forced to dance for the first time in their presence.
We gathered together outside and I could remember we were on Holiday then. We all came out to enjoy the fresh air and a lady brought out her MP3 PLAYER and started playing some songs while they danced.
Someone just held me up and they all insisted I danced for them. I didn't want to, as I was shy. I had to grant their request and gave them my ugly step and move in dancing 😅😅😅
I couldn't stop laughing when they videoed me and going back into my room to watch again, I was smiling.
I wanted to delete it that time but my mind said "leave it, it's a memory for you"
I think I left it for a day like this 😜😜😜
So, those are the stories behind my dance steps. I hope this qualifies for the entry of the challenge.
Thanks for reading and watching

It's another beautiful moment for me in the Hive Open Mic community. This would be my entry to the week #114 of the Hive Open Mic and the theme says "MORE THAN WORDS"**
I chose this song by Sam Smith titled "Too good at goodbyes" which was released in 2017.
The song is about relationships and there is something we all have freedom over and that is choice. We can choose to stay away from an abusive relationship or decides to stay, whichever way we want it, but your happiness and safety do matter.
For this theme of the week, we are looking at the love which isn't merely saying but should be more than words. Love shouldn't be only said under the lips but there should be action to back it up.
You can't tell me "you love me" and not prove it to me.
You can't say "You care about me" when all you do is hurt me. Love should be more than words.
There are some relationships that practice unrequited love. A situation where one party loves the other but another party isn't reciprocating.
To love is to be committed and to sacrifice. You don't say it by mere words but your actions should bring comfort to the other.
And if you think the relationship isn't favouring you, then it's just too good to say goodbye when it is hurting your feelings and emotions.
You deserve someone who would love and show it sincerely. You deserve someone who wouldn't infringe pain on you, pretending to love you.
Love isn't fake. Love is more than just opening your mouth to utter it. Prove it. Make it known that you truly do.
You must think that I'm stupid
You must think that I'm a fool
You must think that I'm new to this
But I have seen this all before
I'm never gonna let you close to me
Even though you mean the most to me
'Cause every time I open up, it hurts
So, I'm never gonna get too close to you
Even when I mean the most to you
In case you go and leave me in the dirt

It's another moment for the Hive Open Mic and it's week #113. The theme says "INFANTIL". A cover song by Princessbusayo.
Listening to this song, directed me toward children especially.
To me, I think it's also more like for children who are feeling less of themselves and are ashamed. They shouldn't but, see themselves as unique and not be scared, even though they have been bruised.
Some children need to listen to this song especially those who are being bullied and have lost their self-esteem. They need to know that the world would continue to take advantage of them if they aren't bold or confident enough to speak up and see the real them.
It is you and you aren't alone. Children who feel they are alone in the world shouldn't feel that way because the world will continue to look less like them if they don't brace up and see who they are.
Let them be inspired and motivated through this song and they should know that the world would accept them if they accept who they are.
They don't need to hide their identity. If you are obese, appreciate yourself because it's nobody's business.
If you are always bullied, rise and confront them. They will flee.
If you are short, see yourself as being special because it is, and will always be YOU
Children who have had scars should learn to embrace who they are and make the scars beautiful for them. Everyone would appreciate it too if you appreciate those scars even if they are something you keep getting hurt over, the scar is still beautiful on you, darling😍
This song is dedicated to all children in the world. Those lovely kids have low self-esteem. Those kids are afraid to stand up and are shy to bring out their creativity because they feel the world and their peers would not appreciate them. They need to appreciate who they are and uniquely see themselves.
Mind you, we are all CHILDREN 😎😎
LYRICS FOR THIS IS ME BY KEALA SETTLE
I am not a stranger to the dark
Hide away, they say
'Cause we don't want your broken parts I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
Run away, they say
No one'll love you as you are
But I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown 'em out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
Another round of bullets hits my skin
Well, fire away 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in
We are bursting through the barricades and
Reaching for the sun (we are warriors)
Yeah, that's what we've become (yeah, that's what we've become)
I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown 'em out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
This is me
and I know that I deserve your love
(Oh-oh-oh-oh) there's nothing I'm not worthy of
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh)
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown 'em out
This is brave, this is bruised
This is who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come (look out 'cause here I come)
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum (marching on, marching, marching on)
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown 'em out
I'm gonna send a flood
Gonna drown 'em out
Oh
This is me

Hey Music lovers, happy new month and it feels great entering into the theme´s week on the first day of the month. How excited are you?
This will be my entry to the Hive Open Mic Week #112 whose theme is "Local Tradition". I have tried finding a song to suit this theme but I couldn´t. I guess it´s all about singing a song you are connected with.
Tradition is a belief or custom that is being passed across to generations and if I am to link the song to the theme, then I should say the song has a strong belief in it and should definitely be passed across to generations so they could keep singing and having their spirit and hope lifted up, which has been same for me for the past weeks I have come to know this song.
I remembered my cousin complaining about what kind of song was I singing that isn´t interesting. Actually, he is not into solemn and slow songs, but this is what I love. Worship songs that connect you to heaven. Songs that make you move closer to God to want to spend more time with Him, that is the kind of songs I enjoy singing. When you actually listen to worship gospel songs, trust me, you wouldn´t want to leave that presence with God because you want more, you are thirsting for more power and strength through the song.
This song titled "Amen Amen" by TY Bello, featuring Sinmidele and Ore Macaulay was officially released on the 14th of January this year and it is a song project that was inspired by the Holy Spirit. This song speaks about love, joy, hope, freedom, and salvation.
You know when you are down, depressed and you have turned everywhere for help, but it seems help isn´t showing or perhaps you are addicted to a bad habit that is risking your life already which you know it, but there is actually a solution if you are ready, and it is you recognizing the power of God and having the hope that He is breaking that addiction in your life. He is freeing you from all problems and professing freedom for you.
What is a religion that doesn´t speak about love? What is a religion that doesn´t care for humanity? The song is filled with hope that God is destroying and breaking that religion into an attitude of His own which is to love and care for humanity.
I have found myself lost in the song that I just keep playing it over and over again with many other inspiring songs and that alone gives me the hope, freedom and peace that I really need.
The artist was truly inspired by the Holy Spirit to bring out this song as a message of hope to everyone and to bring a message of Jesus Christ into our lives.
I´m sorry about the background in my video. This is my small room and I had to sing when other students had left home for school so I do not want any distraction, I had to use my little darkroom for it 😆

You have said it GOD
And you have done it* Lyrics of the song can be found here

Hello, it's the Hive Open Mic week #109 and the theme is "Paper Kites" which means freedom to choose, imagine and create.
The song "LIGHT AND LOVE" by Fearless Soul is an inspiring song that makes you feel special about yourself. This life is a battle we must keep fighting and defending ourselves and never to give up.
Being free to imagine and create a beautiful life for yourself is all you have got to choose and never giving up, no matter what circumstances you are stuck in.
We are made to shine and be loved because we are already enough with every potentials and talents we need to make a meaningful life and the best is to live in the moment.
For every battle we are fighting and never giving up, we are getting stronger and stronger because even if things don't go the way we have expected, we should never get worried because what is meant to be will always find us. We are to keep creating a beautiful life through our imaginations and thoughts.
When we create and think of the best for ourselves, and we truly want it, we would be determined to achieve all, whatever the situations might be.
You are special and the greatest thing is to always be grateful for what you have because in doing so, you will get more.
Where things do not go right, even if those things aren't what you expected, there is a chance for opportunity and once it comes, do not wait or hesitate to grab it and turn those lemons into lemonade.
The Bible says we should never be anxious of anything. Yes, this is an assurance for us that whatever is meant for us will always stay even when they leave, they will always find us.
Opportunity is always showing and you must make each moment count with your creativity because you have the best freedom to create the life you will always love to live forever.
This song will motivate and remind you that there are opportunities out there to create the best life for yourself because you are special no matter how you are.
LYRICS
I am light and love
I’m always enough
and I’m living in the moment when I’m feeling stuck
I still don’t give up
cause every battle leads to growing what is meant to be
will always find me
feel that energy cause if I…
I see a chance I will take it
I feel the boundaries breaking
this world is mine, I will make it
and love the life I’m creating I am thankful for
all I have and more
see my abundance overflowing I’m not thinking small
I can have it all
opportunity is showing turn your wrongs to right
don’t stop, put up a fight
mornings, into the night I see a chance I will take it
I feel the boundaries breaking
this world is mine, I will make it
and love the life I’m creating keep my eyes on the bright side
my thoughts are what I decide
focus on what I can do
how I feel is what I choose I see a chance I will take it
I feel the boundaries breaking
this world is mine, I will make it
and love the life I’m creating

Welcome to my blog again. It's the Hive Open Mic week #107 and the theme is "Brave Mind"**.
Looking at the theme for this week, it talks about being brave. Life is all about being courageous to face any challenges. A weak mind cannot move or progress and so, it is important we act courageous to any challenges and situations raging in our minds and be ready to confront them.
The good news there is that God has promised to be with us through all troubles and He said we shouldn't be afraid but to be courageous and allow Him to take over.
In the course of ruminating on the theme, I was inspired to sing this song by "The Afters" titled "I will fear no more".
One thing in life we should overcome is fear. Fear brings stagnation and that is the only way the devil takes control. When we realize that even in our darkest time, fear should be eliminated, that is when our bravery would come upon us and we would not be afraid of anything because we believe we have overcome every problem through God.
LYRICS
*Every anxious thought that steals my breath
It's a heavy weight upon my chest
As I lie awake and wonder what the future will hold
Help me to remember that You're in control*
*You're my courage when I worry in the dead of night
You're my strength 'cause I'm not strong enough to win this fight
You are greater than the battle raging in my mind
I will trust You Lord, I will fear no more*
*I will lift my eyes, I will lift my cares
Lay them in Your hands, I'll leave them there
When the wind and waves are coming, You shelter me
Even though I'm in the storm, the storm is not in me*
*You're my courage when I worry in the dead of night
You're my strength 'cause I'm not strong enough to win this fight
You are greater than the battle raging in my mind
I will trust You Lord, I will fear no more*
*I will fear no more
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
I will fear no more*
*No power can come against me 'cause You have overcome
No darkness can overwhelm me 'cause You've already won*
*No power can come against me 'cause You have overcome
No darkness can overwhelm me 'cause You've already won*
*You're my courage when I worry in the dead of night
You're my strength 'cause I'm not strong enough to win this fight
You are greater than the battle raging in my mind
I will trust You, Lord (trust you, Lord)
I will fear no more (fear no more)*
*I will fear no more (fear no more)
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
I will fear no more
I will fear no more
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
I will fear no more*

Hello everyone! It's another edition of the Hive Open Mic's week #106, theme: "Bicycle" by @Princessbusayo.
It's another moment to showcase my talent in singing and expressing myself in wonderful music by another favorite artist on my playlist. The song is titled "You're still God" by Phillipa Hanna.
The first time I sang this song, I couldn't stop repeating it until I learnt the lyrics and could sing on my own. For the week's theme, I was inspired to choose this particular song because it reveres God and for who He is.
Many times, we are in trouble, we feel rejected and hopeless but the truth is that, no matter what we pass through, the only one truth that will be in our mouth is that "He is still God and He reigns forever more". The best thing is for us to trust in Him always by putting all our focus on Him.
When we are in darkness and it seems the foundation is about to be shaken, God will keep reigning and will remain God.
In fact, even if we decide not to serve Him, it doesn't remove the fact that He is and will continue to reign because He is God Almighty.
LYRICS
When all foundations have been shaken
When I'm left standing in the dark
And all I feel is my heart breaking
You still reign and You're still God.
And when it feels all hope has faded
The heavy questions hit so hard
And though my soul may feel forsaken
You still reign and You're still God.
Though I can't see what's before me
I know that I can trust Your heart
And this one truth will be my story
You still reign and You're still God.
I will declare that You are with me
Though voices whisper that You're not
You'll never leave me nor forsake me
'Cause You still reign and You're still God.
Though I can't see what's before me
I know that I can trust Your heart
And this one truth will be my story
Your truth's still reign and You're still God.
Though I can't see what's before me
I know that I can trust Your heart
And this one truth will be my story
That You still reign and You're still God.
I know You reign and You're still God
And when my enemies surround me
I'll trust the victory of Your cross
And fix my eyes upon You Jesus
For You are God and I am not.
You are good and You are faithful
As You have been from the start
You're working all things for Your glory
'Cause You still reign and You're still God.
And though I can't see what's before me
I know that I can trust Your heart
And this one truth will be my story, yes it will
That You still reign and You're still God
Yes, this one truth will be my story
You still reign and You're still God.

Hive Open Mic week #105: "Colorful" by @Princessbusayo Entering into this community isn't a regret for me because I have come to enjoy singing each day because of this opportunity. I can now sing with confidence looking at the screen. I am always shy to make my face shown in videos but I have been more than interested in participating every week here.
I believe music is a food to the soul and a way to the heart especially when you are down or depressed. Music will inspire you.
I was looking for the perfect song for this theme and I found one of the songs from my favorite artist "Cece Winans". I have always loved her songs especially the one "Mercy said No". Such an inspiring music to the soul.
I believe for a song to be colorful, it must make up with the right beat, lyrics and rhythm and this present song fits into it.
TITLE OF THE SONG: "Believe for it"
ARTIST: Cece Winans LYRICS:
They say this mountain can't be moved
They say these chains will never break
But they don't know You like we do
There is power in Your name
We've heard that there is no way through
We've heard the tide will never change
They haven't seen what You can do
There is power in Your name
So much power in Your name
Move the unmovable
Break the unbreakable
God we believe
God we believe for it
From the impossible
We'll see a miracle
God we believe
God we believe for it
We know that hope is never lost (oh)
For there is still an empty grave
God we believe no matter what
There is power in Your name
So much power in Your name
Move the unmovable
Break the unbreakable
God we believe
God we believe for it
From the impossible
We'll see a miracle
God we believe
God we believe for it (hey)
You are the way
When there seems to be no way
We trust in You
God You have the final say, yeah
You are the way
When there seems to be no way (yes You are)
We trust in You
God You have the final say
(You are the final say)
Move the unmovable
Break the unbreakable
God we believe
God we believe for it
From the impossible
We'll see a miracle
God we believe
God we believe for it
God we believe
God we believe for it

This is Hive Open Mic week 104 by @Princessbusayo and the theme is "Guitarra Automatica"
For this week, it's all about Guitar and finding a song that includes the use of the instrument. This will be my second time participating in this community and I am gradually enjoying the moment because it has made me resume back to my love for music as I spend my moment listening to songs that inspires me.
I love music that uplifts the spirit and makes me inspired and so, I am so much in love with gospel songs and sometimes going for romantic songs too.
I searched for a beautiful song and was inspired after listening to "Indescribable" by Hillsong Young and Free.
The sound of the Guitar at the beginning of the song moved me and made me learn the song and its lyrics. The lyrics are top notch as I found myself in awe eulogizing the Almighty God.
This song describes who God is as the indescribable in every way and how He searched me and I was caught up in His grace.
Title of the song: "Indescribable"
LYRICS:
*You're indescribable in every way
You searched me out and now I'm caught up in Your grace I heard my name
Across the ocean
You pulled me closer
The current changed
You showed me life
A new horizon
A silver lining
A brand new day*
And I'm like ooh-ooh-ooh
*I can't find the words to say
And ooh-ooh-ooh*
*You're higher than all my ways
And Lord it's You*
*Who opened my eyes to see
And poured out Your heart for me
My God, my God*
*You're indescribable in every way
You searched me out and now I'm caught up in Your grace*
*I just can't fathom it
I can't make sense
Of how Your love so undeserved it never ends*
*You give me freedom
That leaves me breathless
My glimpse of heaven
Is life with You
Now there's no fighting
This gracious rhythm
I lift my hands high
In praise to You*
*Now every time I go
I can't find the words to say
And ooh-ooh-ooh
You're higher than all my ways
And Lord it's You
Who opened my eyes to see
And poured out Your heart for me
My God, my God*
*You're indescribable in every way
You searched me out and now I'm caught up in Your grace*
*I just can't fathom it
I can't make sense
Of how Your love so undeserved it never ends*
*You're indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
So indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
You're indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
So indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh*
*Perfect love
Took my place
Only Jesus
Only grace
What compares?
What comes close?
Where You call me
I will go*
*You're indescribable in every way
You searched me out and now I'm caught up in Your grace*
*I just can't fathom it
I can't make sense
Of how Your love so undeserved it never ends (never ends, oh, no)*
*You're indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
So indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
You're indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh
So indescribable
Ooh-ooh-ooh*

Hi everyone! It's my first time in the community and would be singing my first song in the Hive Open Mic community.
The theme for the week 103 Hive Open Mic is "Survival".
What does Survival means? To me, it is by being alive amidst troubles and trying to be strong and stay alive.
This is a song that talks about Grace of God that has been our survival till today. We all are alive by the grace of God. It is one of my favorites songs that I enjoy listening and singing along to.
With this song, I have always been inspired to realize that God has been gracious to us in all areas and we survive all through today.
Genre: Gospel Lyrics of the song (Adom) I don't look like what, I have been through You turned my pit into a well
So the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
I've been through a lot but grace sustained me
My test, is now a testimony
So the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
It was You
My lawyer in that courtroom
It was You
My soldier on that battlefield
So the essence of my praise
Is centered on your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
Adom oo Nyame
Adom oo Adom
Adom bi nti na me tease
Ɛyɛ W'adom nti na me wɔ hɔ
Lord the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
Adom oo Nyame
Adom oo Adom
Ɛyɛ adom bi nti na me tease
Ɛyɛ W'adom nti na me wɔ hɔ
Lord the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
Who has change my story?
Who has given me a song?
Turn my mourning into dancing
It is You and just Your Grace
You have change my story
Protocol breaker You made a way
You turned my mourning into dancing
It is You and just Your Grace, ah
Could not have made it without You, eh
Could not have sailed through without You
Your loving, kindness, grace and mercy brought me through
So the essence of my praise
Is centered on your Grace
Adom huh, Adom, Adom
Could not have made it without You
Could not have sailed through without You
Papa Your loving, kindness and grace and mercies brought me through
So the essence of my praise
Is all centered on your Grace
Adom, Adom, Adom
Adom oo Nyame eh
Adom oo Adom
Adom bi nti na me tease
Ɛyɛ W'adom nti na me wɔ hɔ
Lord the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
Adom oo Nyame
Adom oo Adom
Adom bi nti na me tease
Ɛyɛ W'adom nti na me wɔ hɔ
Lord the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
Adom oo Nyame
Adom oo Adom
Adom bi nti na me tease
Ɛyɛ W'adom nti na me wɔ hɔ
Lord the essence of my praise
Is centered on Your Grace
Adom, Adom, W'adom
