Dom and Pop DC Sports Talk + is a Father/Son podcast talking all things DC Sports and Beyond. Dom and Pop bring a unique father/son perspective to sports talk podcasting, covering all things DC Sports with no shortage of first generation Italian American ball busting in between.

Lou lends his expertise and first hand knowledge of how OTA’s and mini camp have been going for the Commanders, as well as shares all kinds of stories and history lessons on previous teams and regimes. DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD! Ladies and gentleman, we did it. We survived the worst ownership regime in the history of professional sports. Dan is gone and we couldn’t be happier about it. This week the guys break down all that, as well as give their way too early predictions on the schedule, going game by game and breaking everything down.
This week, the guys get into their "way too early" season long win total reactions and bets. It's a special "bada bets" episode in which they go through all 32 teams and bet the over/under. Stay tuned for some hot takes and bold predictions, as well as their reaction to where the Commanders belong in this list, and how they stack up against the other teams listed.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Dom and Pop episode if there wasn’t some Dan Snyder news to cover as well. Where we’re from, upbeat, optimistic podcasts don’t come out often, so sit back, relax, and enjoy what is the most overwhelmingly positive podcast of our time without a doubt.
It’s finally happened. As the season’s over and slowly fades out of our rear view mirror, we finally begin to unpack the Commanders’ wildly underwhelming year. Somehow, through all the twists and turns, the team ended up neither 3-14 nor 14-3, but yet again, squarely in the middle of the pack with plenty of uncertainty in the future. The guys begin to chip away at what was one wild ride of a season.
Well... I guess that's it. Can you believe the NFL season came and went so fast? We certainly can't, but we're here to break it down for you anyways. So sit back, relax, and take it all in with us as we go over what was the best way to end the 2022 NFL season, an absolutely excellent game of football.
The big game is here and we could not be more excited about it. We’re not even gonna waste your time with a clever description, Super Bowl Sunday is upon us, let’s get into it.
After an absolutely thrilling wild card weekend, Dom and Pop break down their picks for the divisional round, as well as do a brief recap of the most recent Commanders news.
What more is there to say, its super wild card weekend, the beginning of the best time of the NFL season. The guys break down their picks and get into all of the storylines for wild card weekend as well as giving their playoff brackets and Super Bowl picks.
Although it’s true all season, it’s never truer than in week 18, you are what your record is. And for the Commanders, that is mathematically eliminated. So with “nothing to lose” in a “meaningless” game against the Cowboys, the burgundy and gold will roll out Sam Howell, 5th round rookie out of University of North Carolina as their starter. In an effort to so perfectly toe the line between “seeing what they have” and “remembering either way that it’s only one game” the Commanders will roll out their 3rd QB of the year for the 3rd year in a row under Ron Rivera. Maybe, just maybe, this is the light at the end of the decades-long tunnel and the beginning of something beautiful. We’ll let you know what we think in this week’s episode.
Stop me if you've heard this one before... In a must win game against one of the worst teams in the NFL who had absolutely nothing to play for Carson Wentz took a complete and utter deuce effectively ending his team's season and potentially his career as a starting QB in the NFL. At least he left no doubt as to whether or not Rivera made the right decision, both in going back to him, and in bringing him in in the first place. We wish we could say we're surprised.
The Commanders faced off against the 49ers in a Christmas Eve clash that left many fans feeling like they had gotten coal in their stocking. For a game that started off so even, things got out of control exponentially, ending in a QB change that will likely stick for the rest of the season. That's right, Carson Wentz is back under center. The guys get into all that and more as they look ahead to their face off against the Cleveland Browns this week on the Dom and Pop DC Sports Talk + Podcast.
Well. Think of as bad as that could have gone. Draw it up in your head. No, really, focus on it. That's how bad that went. An absolute ass kicking through and through, from the Giants' defensive line to Scott Turner's lack of ability to call run plays when his running back is averaging 7 yards per carry to the absolutely miserable refereeing, there was simply not enough to get the job done this week. At least we play legitimate super bowl contenders in 2 of our next 3 games. That should be fun.
Here. We. Go. It's December. The trees are decorated, the bye weeks have all passed, and the Commanders control their own destiny. Despite a disappointing (?) tie in the Meadowlands, the Washington Commanders currently stand as number 6 in the NFC with a legitimate shot to solidify their playoff hopes this weekend against their division rivals in prime time. For the real fans, this is what it's all about.

So uhh... Did anyone have a tie? Anyone? Wow. We did not see this coming and frankly it did not feel like it as the Commanders put on an equal parts sloppy and gritty performance against the New York Giants who, largely, are who we thought they were. They made few mistakes, performed pretty averagely over the course of the entire game, and capitalized on several key misfires by the Commanders both offensively and defensively. Overall it was a weird game, and we didn't lose... Technically.
The Washington Commanders are 7-5 headed into a division clash against the 7-4 New York Giants. In this two game mini-series, they start on the road against the newly rehabilitated Giants, who seem to be a lot better than we thought they would be at this point in the year. Credit that to Brian Daboll or to Saquon Barkley, or whatever combination you see fit, but this win will be no easy task as both teams will likely be playing for their playoff lives. What's not to like? After going 6-1 in the last 7 games the Commanders are not only firmly in the playoff hunt but they control their own fate. Tell that to us in Week 6 going into Chicago 1-4... The guys break it all down and more in this week's episode.
Wow, week 12 already! Headed into Atlanta this week, the Commanders look to continue their momentum and improve their record to 7-5, putting them in real playoff contention going into a division game against the Giants in week 13. But, as Ron says, we'll be where our feet are and focus on this week. Which includes, of course, Thanksgiving. The guys spend plenty of time going over their favorite Thanksgiving anecdotes as well as an extended Bada Bets this week.
The boys are fired up after celebrating both a blowout victory over the Houston Texans and, much to Dom's excitement, Taylor Heinicke winning the starting job. Ron wasted no time in announcing Taylor as the starter after the dominant week 11 win at the Houston Texans, putting the Commanders at 6-5 and firmly in playoff contention as the second half of the year begins to pick up steam.
Don't say we didn't warn you! Despite all the pessimism headed into the week, the guys bet on the Commanders and got took it to the bank! They break down everything they got to enjoy in the Monday night beatdown at Lincoln Financial. What. A. Win. Oh yeah, and I guess the Texans are coming up, so of course the guys get into all that too and cover their Bada Bets.
Well. Here goes nothing. The guys gotta play the game and lets be honest, it can't go much worse than the last game went and the team looks... better... right? Sheesh. Talk about a week ruiner. The Commanders come back down to earth in what was really a tale of two performances. Top level defensive play was complimented by fantastic special teams play which was offset by an absolutely heinous offensive showing that left the Commanders just 3 points shy of the now 7-1 Minnesota Vikings. While up 10 and in control, the guys found a way to lose through a costly combination of late game turnovers and defensive penalties. That, is a recipe for L's. Still a lot of football left to be played this year, but what the hell are we going to do offensively? The Guys break all that down and more on this week's episode.
Wow. What a week. The other shoe has finally fallen and for once the boys have true, real hope. The news about Dan Snyder is unequivocally the best thing that could happen to Commanders fans. Maybe, or maybe they look a bit too familiar, as the QB woes continue to be the white elephant in the room. The guys do their best to enjoy the win though as there is plenty to like about how this football team has adjusted and changed over the last 3 weeks.
With a chance to get to .500 and potentially turn around what looked like a dumpster fire of a season the Commanders head to Irsay's Indianapolis Colts' house to avenge the ghost of Carson Wentz. Or something like that... The guys break down all that and more, along with getting into their che cazz of the week and of course, covering their bada bets.

The preseason is over. Thank god. This week, the guys cross their t's and dot their i's on their preseason coverage, talking all things from the game against Baltimore, who should be kept, who should be cut, and which mascot is gonna go all pro. After completing their obligatory Commanders segment, the guys count down the top 10 NFL teams, and even give their Super Bowl predictions for bada bets. If you only catch one thing, make sure it's the che cazz of the week. We got a feeling this one is gonna end up in the HOF.
Madon... Tough week. This week, the guys break down the Commanders' Week 2 Pre-Season battle against the Chiefs, and, lets be honest, it wasn't much of a battle. But, rest assured, the guys find some humor in the situation as they go through the good, the bad, and the ugly (there was a lot of ugly), of this week's showdown.

In the last in-person installment for a few months, Dom and Pop break down all the newest updates for Commanders training camp. As usual with the Commanders, its a pretty mixed bag. Things really heat up when they give their individual top 10 wide receiver lists and break into full on debate over where or, better yet, if, Terry belongs on that list. Spoiler alert, the guys definitely don't agree and break into a bit of a... spirited debate. It wouldn't be a podcast without a Che Cazz of the week and they even announce a brand new segment for the pod, starting next week.

Believe it or not, there's some disparity between their rankings and they spare no feelings letting eachother know how they feel about it.
