In today's powerful episode, Amy and Par delve deep into the topic of mental health in motherhood. They share their own experiences from pregnancy to delivery to postpartum and how and why they wish certain topics were more openly discussed at the time, especially the concept of how when a baby is born so is a mother and what that really means. This episode is essentially their love letter to new moms everywhere.

Amy and Par also speak with Dr. Saumya Dave, a writer, psychiatrist, and mental health advocate, about the challenges new moms (and even seasoned ones) face postpartum, including the flood of emotions, the comparison trap, relationship dynamics, etc.

Amy and Par are excited to share something new, different, and vulnerable today. They each wrote a letter to their 25 year-old self from their current mom self. In sharing their letters, they give a preview of what's to come along with lessons they've learned and what they want their past self to focus on and remember.

After completing this exercise and sharing publicly, both Amy and Par recommend people do something similar (sharing publicly is optional!). It was eye-opening and thought-provoking, as well as a beautiful way to validate their journeys so far.

Fair warning - this episode may invoke some tears!

In today's incredibly powerful and moving episode, Amy and Par talk to Krupa Patel. Krupa's son Shaan was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer at a very young age. Everything she ever imagined for him changed overnight.

On Momsanity, we talk a lot about why moms go first and why that's important. And it's easier to put yourself first when everything's going well and everyone is healthy. But what happens when a million lemons are thrown your way out of nowhere? When the future you imagined for yourself and your family completely changes?

Krupa shares how putting herself first during the hardest time in her life helped her help her son and be the mom and decision maker he needed.

We hope this episode inspires you to look after yourself when things are going well, so you can continue to do so if things change.
