Asian Vision Dialogue (AVD) is a platform to discuss international and regional issue, ranging from politics, economics, and other traditional and non-traditional threats and its subsequent implication on the ASEAN, the Mekong sub-region and, most importantly, Cambodia.

G20 is a group consist of 19 countries plus the European Union which together address the global issues ranging from international economy to climate change to sustainable development. This year under the theme ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger’, Indonesia as the new president of G20 has hosted a series of hybrid seminar, with the First Development Working Group Meeting in Jakarta from 23rd to 25th February 2022.
Amid the busy agenda of the post-pandemic recovery, climate change is still one of the hottest issues of discussion on both regional and international stages.
Every year, the United Nations holds a conference on climate change, and the meeting allows the UNFCCC parties to sit down and together address the common climate challenges.
This year, Cambodia starts holding a chairing position of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with commitments to boosting unity and addressing contemporary issues both regionally and internationally.
ambodia has the responsibility of initiating mechanisms to lead the regional organization to flourish within the three pillars of ASEAN and to organize a successful ASEAN Summit as the host country.
As the host country, Cambodia will convene the 13th ASEM Summit on 25th -26th November 2021 via videoconference. This is the first time in history for Cambodia to host this kind of multilateral meeting composed of 53 member states, of which 21 countries from the Asia continent and 30 from Europe. As a small and developing state, Cambodia may face several challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and other developing regional and international issues.
On 28th October 2021, Brunei Darussalam just officially handed over the ASEAN Chair for 2022 to the Kingdom of Cambodia on the margin of the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits and Related Summit. It is the third time for the Kingdom since its membership in 1999 and this is also the pride and honour of us, as the people of Cambodia, for having received this duty.
