Politified is a podcast created to educate its listeners on global politics, hosted and produced by two friends who found a common passion in one another, Amber Stoof and Eline Timmermans. With the goal to make (global) politics more accessible, Politified offers a platform to people of all backgrounds. 2015 has been marked as the year of the refugee crisis when over 1 million people traveled to Europe to seek asylum. It was the biggest influx of refugees since World War II, but it will likely happen again. In light of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and the tensions at the Belarus-Poland border, this episode addresses what it means to be a refugee and to seek asylum. More so, Amber & Eline discuss EU-level legislation and whether we are ready for a new flow of refugees.
