In our interview with UK legend Derek Anderson, he tells us when asked "How would you compare the talent level of Calipari's team this year to when he played?" that they would "probably be on our 3rd team". What do you think? It is an interesting question. He gives some great insight with saying that they wanted to stay in school to get better before going to the NBA which is true. The North Oldham Mustangs and the Oldham County Colonels match up on the gridiron for the first time ever at Oldham County HS. Both teams come in 1-0 on the season; Oldham routed Atherton last Friday, 56-0, after taking a 42-0 lead after just one quarter. North Oldham whipped Henry County, 52-21, on the road in New Castle. Oldham looks to keep the ball in the hands of their home run hitters: Cody Oldham scored on an 80 yard pass play against Atherton on the first play from scrimmage. Kerry Smith scored on two punt returns of over 40 yards. North looks to continue their success with the running game. Last Saturday, the Mustangs rushed for over 460 yards, with both Zach Evans (108 yards on 9 carries, 3 TDs)and Jacob Raymond (6 carries, 147 yards, 1 TD) going over the century mark. Josh Smith (6 carries, 71 yards, 2 TDs) and Quenton Shea (8 carries, 52 yards) also had solid games. The Mustangs averaged over 10 yards per carry. Mike Montgomery, Tom Hawkins, and Scott Jaggers provide the call from Buckner.
