When David Eby is coronated as BC premier on November 18, he'll be bringing his ambitious housing plan with him. In Tony's November market update for the Sunshine Coast, he tackles four planks of Eby's housing platform:
- elimination of strata rental restrictions;
- a flipping tax;
- secondary suites legal everywhere across the province; and

BC's soon-to-be-implemented cooling off period is designed to give would-be homebuyers an escape hatch if they make an offer on a home, only to then suffer from buyer's remorse. It's anticipated that this cooling off period will apply to real estate transactions on the Sunshine Coast, BC. This is a well intentioned, if mistimed piece of legislation. The overheated real estate market that inspired the cooling period will likely cool before it's enacted, thus making the legislation unneeded.
