Facing persecution, the people to whom Hebrews was written had every reason to isolate. But even in the face of this reality, the author of Hebrews champions the value of gathering - showing why it's important and what biblical commuity looks like.
In John 20, we discover that Thomas is questioning the resurrection of Jesus. In the face of this doubt, Jesus approaches Him with no condemnation, but pointing Thomas toward confidence - confirming His resurrection. In seasons of doubt today, let's not run from Jesus but to Jesus, and consider carefully the reasons that exist that confirm the Christian message.
Some variation of "do not be afraid" is one of the most constant drumbeats of biblcial faith - it runs throughout the Bible. We start to fear when things get out of proportion in our lives - when we focus too much on ourselves, on others, or on the future, for example. But when we include a big view of God in the picutre (when we fear Him), faith grows greater than fear and we can walk forward in faith and trust.

Bilingual Campus Pastor Juan Santos, and his wife Maria, kick off our new series: Face to Face.
We know Jesus changes lives. We see this again and again in the Gospel of John: When people meet Jesus and truly discover who He is, who they are changes. Jesus changed lives in the first century when He was walking on earth, and He's still changing lives today. In this series, we'll look at five "Face to Face" meetings with Jesus in the Gospel of John - discovering afresh who Jesus is and the difference He makes. How might meeting Jesus (again or for the first time) change your life?

Words like "isolation" and "distance" are now normal for many of us. In the midst of this, how can we come together around Christ at Christmas? In this series, we'll come together to learn about the invitation Christ makes, the character of the Savior, and His offer of true, soul-level rest. Let’s gather around Christ in worship and wonder, and gathered together in community and connection.
This week we dive into Jesus invitation to come close to him from Matthew 11:38, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened…”.
