Cydne Jasmin Coleby (B. 1993) is a mixed media artist based in Nassau, Bahamas. With a professional background in graphic design, Coleby creates bold mixed media collage paintings that examine personal and ancestral relationships to trauma and conditioning.
She joined the final episode of Season 1 to talk about her first solo exhibition which is taking place in Paris currently and across the Atlantic in New York, where her art is being exhibited until early January 2021. She also gets into how she thought for many years that she would never be able to have an art career and what emotions tend to inspire her work. Her work aims to explore the transformative influences of experience, while questioning our ability for healing, and to cultivate our individual and collective narratives, through these events.
