Ah, the “Journey To Star Wars” publishing line. Disney once told us, “We use these moments to introduce hints, clues, and puzzle pieces. Without revealing what those pieces are, it will just allow readers to speculate about the new film: What could a location mean, or what could a character mean?”
This time around, the questions were much more sparse, and the answers were much more perplexing. In this episode, I take a look back at the “Journey to The Last Jedi” offerings and explore the “hints, clues, and puzzle pieces” revealed after The Last Jedi’s release, discussing topics like:
- Jedi Master spearfishing techniques
- The military, Amilyn? Really?
- Phasma’s extremely necessary backstory
- The differences between a hint, a clue, and a puzzle piece?

No, really, if I have to do one more episode about Captain Phasma I will actually become physically ill. My body temperature will raise at least three degrees. Okay, it’s not that bad, but just as Phasma was able to move on from the trash compactor, I’m so ready to move on from this character. This episode’s all about Kelly S. That’s right–they said it couldn’t be done, but I didmanage to read an entire novellawithin just one short week, just in time for the galactic casino’s film debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This week, I jump into writer Charles Soule and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli’s Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith, Volume 1: Imperial Machine. It’s a dam-smashing good time, complete with Order 66 failures, revisionist history (”No.”), Imperial clone troopers, half-naked elderly Jedi, and so much more! This is one of the best comics on the stands right now, and if you’re caught up to at least issue #6, you’ll want to listen to this!
