Good day everyone! Welcome to my blog! I believe we have stories to share in our day-to-day lives and this time it is about our Saturday trying to build a DIY (do-it-yourself) brooder cage. We followed the video in this youtube link.
He wrote these materials in his description:
Parts List:
• 6 each: 60" 2"x2"
• 14 each: 21" 2"x2"
• 24 of 24-inch wide 1/2" hardware cloth
• 2.5" exterior wood screws
• Two small hinges
• One small handle
• Some small chain
• Small furniture wheels/casters
• (heat lamp, waterer, feeder, etc.)
.So as an aspirant DIY professional (🤣), I tried to comply with the things listed above. Later I found out, that it was quite expensive since we had only a small budget, I tried to adjust the things into a Philippine-made wood such as coconut lumber and bamboo that is budget-friendly!
Initially, I did not purchase bamboo cuttings because I thought, coconut lumber was better and we used hardware cloth. While building these my partner mostly do the hard work and I used to drill the areas needed for nailing to make it easier for him. What saddens us is that the coco lumber was not properly cut and has no proper measurements despite telling them I needed 2x2 60". This was the first of the disappointments we had.
My partner @xykorlz, started to cut the lumber into the desired pieces to make it uniform, 2 days prior to the building time. Since we have jobs, we scheduled to build on Saturday.
This is the output we have.
Despite the things we did, it somehow paid off. It wasn't the best output we expected as first time DIY we did but it is good for our chicks. For more DIY projects!

Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Climbing the silver league.
Good day everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!
(Since it is almost Christmas, the theme is quite Christmasy 🤣)
It has been a while since the last post but I did not miss a chance to play the Splinterlands game. Since the new update, it has been tough to rank up because I have limited owned cards. So, I have to rent cards thru peakmonsters.
Anyways, without further ado, I will show you how I ranked up with some of my favorite battles I won.
SKARGORE VS TARSA
SKARGORE
Skargore is from the Riftwatcher pack, the newly launched pack. It has an enraged ability at the start of the battle to all friendly monsters. Having the enraged ability increases all stats other than health, especially the melee attacks.
Cerberus is an underrated card since new packs were launched. What I meant is that, I haven't encountered this card against and opponent but it doesn't mean it has lesser value. In fact, it is around $10 for Alpha packs in Normal foil but in Gold Foil it is around 1,500. For Beta Packs, $6 for normal foil and $109 for Gold foil. rus)) I have been a fan of this monster card since the first moment I used it. (Like love at first site. 🤣) He is my first tank in this battle that I will show you.
ROUND 1
I put Cerberus as my tank because of his healing ability. With the rules set on this battle being unprotected and a low mana battle, I think this is to my advantage. I followed it with all other sneak attacks I have such as, Tenyii Striker, Kobold Miner, Uraeus, and lastly Radiated Scorcher since it left me with 1 mana, might as well utilize it.
My tank started to attack first, then followed by the enemy's Serpentine Spy, leaving my Kobold Miner dead without having the chance to attack. (So Long, my friend) Next, my Uraeus attacked though it did give damage to my enemy's last tank he was able to live. So my enemy's Uraeus attacked also, followed by his Tenyii Striker leaving me with 2 monsters only on the first round. I was astonished and nervous at the same time. Thankfully I killed one of my enemy's last tanks.
ROUND 2
In this round, I ended 2 of my enemy's monsters. I thought that my Tenyii Striker will die too, luckily he was still safe.
ROUND 3
The same pattern happened from round 2 but this time, the enemy's Tenyii Striker was left at the end of the round.
ROUND 4
With my Cerberus healing ability, he was able to attack the only monster my enemy has left. He was still alive even with my support Tenyii Striker but it is quite obvious who is most likely to win.
ROUND 5
MYLOR CROWLING Thorn ability is when hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker. Mylor Crowling gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle. For me, this is one of the summoners I want the most. He is a defense and offense at the same time. Hopefully one day, with proper savings, I could by it.
Mylor vs Tarsa ROUND 1
In defense of the enraged ability, I used Mycelic Infantry because of its reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks. I backed up it with my healing ability monsters, Goblin Psychic and Wood Nymph. Flesh Golem and Mycelic Morphoid will serve as a decoy for sneak attacks or opportunistic abilities.
As expected, though I know I'd like to use the healing ability of Wood Nymph, she would always be the first prey of an opportunistic Serpentine Spy. But since I have Mylor Crowling, it also did damage to the attacker. Next assault was done by Tenyii Striker to my Mycelic Morphoid. I know my morphoid doesn't attack but his presence increases the damage my enemy could get because of mylor.
ROUND 2
First attacker was Tenyii Striker giving my Flesh Golem a life of five.Thanks to his healing ability, he was able to last until the end of this round. The next attacker is Living Lava, his melee damage is around 6 that may greatly damage my tank if he has no shield ability. With the enemy's Disintegrator, my attacks are shallow compared to my enemy. Thanks to Goblin Psychic, he ended the life of the enemy's first tank and healed my tank. The round ended with Disintegrator attacking my first tank.
ROUND 3
This round started like how the previous round started. The difference was when Disintegrator attacked my tank, he was damaged by thorns, and followed by Mycelic Infantry's attack, lastly by my Goblin Psychic magic.
ROUND 4
Now, since Tenyii Striker always starts the round, with 1 life, he is eliminated already after his last attempt with my Flesh Golem. Now, I am left with low life and low melee damage. So, who wins?
ME
Anyway, I'd like to share my opened packs and after so how many attempts of wanting a legendary card, this is it.
So I will share all of the opened packs first.
The best thing I have right now is Queen Mycelia. Despite that it wasn't a gold foil when I am faced with an opponent with this monster, I find it hard to defeat them.
