The friendliest transcontinental cricket podcast. Join us, a group of Indian fans located in various parts of the globe as we talk through the goings on in cricket through stories, anecdotes and stats. Max, Tony and Nitin bring to you Episode 138 of Bits and Pieces, covering uncoverable cricket from Pakistan (which was not televised), at uncoverable grounds in Canada (that had soaked, zigzag outfields), and other things that did not happen - such as Sanju Samson's transfer to Chennai Super Kings. Stay tuned to learn about the vagaries of Duke's balls, Shreyas Iyer's satirical sartorial sense, and filmic philanthropic nonsense, Jay Shah's ascension to cricket's (second) biggest job and much more. This podcast is Shakib Al Hasan's get out of jail free card, and is free to listen, thanks to the glories of Moore's Law. West Indies shudder to a series defeat against South Africa, collapsing spectacularly from winning positions. Bits and Pieces asks the tough questions - why are we so nostalgic and sympathetic to a team that has broadly disappointed for over two decades? Discussions on the 100, strange officiating in the India Sri Lanka tie where the Super Over was 'forgotten', a colourful discussion on balls that will tickle you pink, lots of chuntering on the Duleep Trophy Squads, and the status of internet in Pakistan - all coming to you fresh on Episode 137 of the friendliest cricket podcast.

Bits and Pieces somehow continues into its 134th week on the trot, and Sanju Samson must be quite miserable about this. The pod was recorded just as Samson made a rare appearance in the India XI, and in our extreme excitement for the man, may have ended up jinxing him into a first-ball duck a few hours later. From Joylord Gumbie, Joyless Gambhir, Sumaar Joseph, and Chamari Athapattu, we have all the major cricketing heroes of the week covered. We marvel at SKY's versatility, and Max talks about more T20 leagues than you knew existed. This podcast features a vicious Adam Zampa googly, a logical puzzle that isn't quite first-class, and casts wild aspersions on Mike Atherton's prowess as a player.

In Mumbai, India gave its cricketing heroes a massive and spontaneous reception to mark their memorable World Cup triumph. Vipul from the Bits and Pieces gang - a North Stand Gang regular, and a major patron of live sport - was one of the 1000s of people who thronged the streets of Mumbai and found their way to the Wankhede, braving rain, crowds, unsympathetic police, dehydration, lost footwear and other pitfalls to celebrate with the team. In this episode, Vipul joins Nitin and Tony to recount his experiences, as we continue to bask in the glory of India's win and briefly look ahead to the post Dravid era.Find us on social media:1. After 4024 days, India end their ICC tournament drought in incredibly dramatic fashion in Barbados. An ending that you could not have scripted, for Rohit, Kohli and Dravid. A redemption arc for Hardik that no one saw coming. A reaffirmation of Bumrah's legend status. A SKY moment whose magnitude will be felt for years. We are still pinching ourselves to confirm that we didn't dream this whole thing up. What a World Cup! What a finish!
Fittingly, it is a Royal Rumble of a Bits and Pieces episode featuring Hank, Tony, Nitin, Nishit, Prashant, PGK, Iman, Varun Murali, Varun Venkatesh, Max da Vinci and Murali Satagopun. We are almost certain we have left someone out... Please watch the podcast and let us know in the comments! If you love the Indian team, give us 5 stars and hit the Bell Icon!
We originally wanted to record this episode on the weekend, since we expected Semifinal slots to be decided well before India played Australia. But as it transpired, we ended up recording in multiple installments on Monday, after India defeated Australia, and again on Tuesday following Afghanistan's magical sprint past Australia on the points table, dumping them and Bangladesh out of what is, arguably, the greatest World Cup ever!
Join us as we review the action as coherently as possible. Do listen till the end for the post Afg v Ban coda, and do share this episode with your friends. Please also let us know if you too are experiencing the strange Jay Shah gif bug that is afflicting our Whatsapp group.

After a sizzling second week of the World Cup filled with close games, upsets, near-upsets and a teary farewell to New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka (and nearly England), Hank, Max, Nitin and Adi join the pod to wonder if this is going to be Afghanistan's year. What is Shubhman Gill's side business? Is South Africa practicing the anti-choke, and are New Zealand at the end of an era? How on earth did ICC manage to make it rain endlessly in America? Despite the ICC's best efforts with messed up pitches at strange venues, ticketing faux-pas, scheduling gaffes and comical broadcast deals, the first week of the T20 World Cup has been a low-scoring blockbuster featuring upsets, reversals and box-office Pakistan. It's time for that flagship, marquee cricketing event ... that happens every year. No, we aren't talking about the IPL anymore (and so thank you god) - It's time for a World Cup, in the oddest corner of the world, at the oddest times of the day. As you reset your body clocks, here's a rare episode of Bits and Pieces that doesn't mention Ashwin or Rahul or Shardul or Dhoni... Join Hank, Adi, Max and Vikas as they blunder their way through the team rosters and make random predictions about the semi-finals. The only thing they seem to get right are Adi's softball quiz questions. Can you crack them?We are on Twitter at1. Bits and Pieces: https://twitter.com/bnp_cricket2. As IPL 2024 winds down to anti-climactic conclusion, Tony, Chops, Bisi and Nitin come together to ponder the most important question of all - who has won the Fairplay Award (PS: We had to check). The gang chats about peculiarities such as the impact of luck in T20, the significance of an orange-clad leader who many thought was unbeatable in India falling short in a big contest in 2024, and just marvel the rare sight of Pat Cummins losing a final. We also review Season 3 of The Test, talk about Eng v Pak, SA v WI, and preview India's chances at the World Cup starting next week (yeah, no kidding) for the 783rd time.

When was the last time the media, the selectors, the commentators, or even the coach could speak their mind freely or take a hard call in relation to an Indian superstar? India's anchor-heavy T20 World Cup squad selection was followed closely by the Virat Kohli - Sunil Gavaskar spat, bringing back attention to the uneasy power that the holy cows of Indian cricket hold. Is this unique to India? To cricket? Are the fans to be blamed? Is there a way out? Sharda Ugra joins the gang this week to dissect why the stars reign supreme in the country of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth (and Amitabh Kant).Shownotes:1. And now that the Indian team for the World Cup has been selected, our friendly panelists wonder wistfully about the glorious past weeks, when we could all still play selection predictions. From book cricket to stick cricket to cheat mode, the scoring rates in IPL 2024 continue to soar out of the realms of anything we could have imagined. Max, VaMu and PDP come together in Episode 121 to explain how we are reacting to this nose-bleed inducing run-flation, and also 'why' we are reacting this way. This is a rare, reflective episode of Bits and Pieces, and aptly, we kick it off with Srinath Sripath mimicking Harsha Bhogle in a rare moment of frank self-reflection.

Kookaburras in England, Kiwis in Pakistan ... and Ducks in India. As the IPL moves into mid-season madness, our knowledgeable friends assemble to kill many birds with one stone. We ruminate on Travis Head's special liking for opponents in shades of blue, the strange week in the life of Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler's remarkable 100 v KKR, and a deep-dive into the unforgettable game between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings which, strangely, we all have forgotten. Will Ajit Agarkar follow the policy of Last In First Out (LIFO) when he picks India's squad for the T20 World Cup? Is Abdul Samad actually the Chennai martial arts mischief-maker Shihan Hussaini? Why bowlers? Answers to these vexing questions here.

The answer is no, of course, but why let that come in the way of a buzzword filled headline for your podcast episode!
But no, seriously, in Episode 119, we come together and wonder if Bumrah is tough to play because of his PM-like tendencies. We also wonder whether India's T20 World Cup selections will be impacted by the national general election vote-bank politics. Iman is busy simping for Gill, while Tony as expected continues pimping for Sanju. In the company of Bro Tareque who repeats several questions that were answered in last week's episode which he clearly hasn't listened to, and Nitin who even more clearly hasn't been watching the IPL, Australian Adonis Adi tries to bring some cogency to proceedings.
Oh, and please don't miss the voice of Kapil Dev on the matter of Hardik Pandya v Rohit... So what if the said voice came from the throat of Prashant DP.

This week, Bits and Pieces goes deep into contract law and HR practices, and quite fittingly, we do this without the lawyer or the HR professional in our gang joining the pod. Our group randomly sympathises with Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, randomly ridicules the Dharamsala 100th Test darlings Ashwin and Bairstow. And somehow foretells Shardul Bedex Thakur's incredible Ranji semifinal performance. Murali's Bedex rap and PDP's David Attenborough impression of the Bairstow Migration are worth the entry price for this episode, which by the way is 0.

Also, a recurring segment in the podcast now - Srinath Sripath's impressions of Harsha Bhogle. And to this, we add a new doozie: Prashant DP's reimagination of Tamil cinema's immortal 'other banana conundrum', except it features Geoffrey Boycott and Ian Botham. You read that right.

What a start to a summer of grief, and the Shamar of joy... Bisi, Sandy, Srinath, Murali and Chops get together on the day of Bazball's first win on Indian shores and a Windies' win for the ages at the Gabba to cry, feel angry, smile, guffaw, break heads and crack jokes while constantly pointing and laughing at Ashwin's fielding, and AB de Villiers' ridiculous new ideas to 'improve' the game. And - a bonus epicmax clip of Srinath Sripath pulling off the most audacious Harsha Bhogle impression ever.

In Episode 107, Bits and Pieces continues its Pulitzer-worthy investigation into the state of cricket pitch manufacturing, outfield preparation and stands manufacturing as the American venues for the 2024 T20 World Cup get into a race against time, logic and sense to be ready in time for the ICC's big event. Also, an in-depth look into various Indian squads for various formats of cricket, some of which have been announced and some of which haven't (to be clear, we are referring to the squads here, and not formats of the game). In addition to compelling conversations on Bazball's impending India debut and West Indies' troubles in Australia, we also ask the most important question in cricket: Is it time Harsha Bhogle stopped tweeting?

At one point Tony says "We've been talking for 20m and only Rachna has made any sense" (edited out). At another point Tony whines on like a pork "chop" about Sanju Samson not making the "cut" (edited out). And for some part of the pod Tony self edits himself out of the pod on account of a power-cut. In between all of this, Chops, Bisi, Rachna, VaMu, SandyG and Tony talk about "cricket without borders", fielding in the IPL, over-reliance on data, selection methods, the Afghanistan ODIs, the upcoming India-England series and much more....

Just when we thought we'd covered every possible angle there was to the Hardik Pandya transfer story, Mumbai Indians named him as captain, setting tongues wagging across the board, including in our esteemed panel which asks the exclusive question that no one else thought about: Have Mumbai appointed the right Pandya brother? Hardik-gate reminds us of Pakistan in the 90s; Pakistan's Test team getting pulped in Australia reminds us of India in the 90s; And India's ODI selection reminds us of Pakistan all the time... We celebrate these Samjhautha Express parallels with a wonderful Mohan Krishnamurthy remix of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S title track that hopefully won't get us copyright strikes. Somewhere along the line, our panel gives you the most incisive India v England Women's Test analysis anywhere out there (no kidding), and absolutely no coverage of England v West Indies and New Zealand v Bangladesh (no kidding again).

In this episode, Bits and Pieces takes guard afresh after completing a fine 100. We ponder the metaphorical implications of Mushfiqur's soft-handling the ball, Buttler's disastrous run as ODI captain, and Pakistan's comical preparation for their next hammering in Australia. Also, lots of banter on the WPL Auction, and a cool rundown from Rachana Ramchand, and a review of the Englnd v India T20s. This episode also unveils the real reason why CSK doesn't pull off a Mumbai-Hardik and buy every single IPL superstar, and identifies the one remaining likeable person from India's 2011 World Cup squad. This week's giggles featuring Mayur, Tony, SpamMo, Nitin and Chops, with SandyJi desperately trying to maintain discipline.

The gang this week decides to put on their combinatorics hats to work out multiple combinations for India in the upcoming World Cup, set to the sound of a million boxes being ticked at once. They are at sixes and sevens while trying to figure out the 7s and 8s for each team. There is incessant propping up of Ashwin but in kutti doses only. There is something interesting happening in every single team and ICC is listening in to this episode with intent since it might have the answer to the question of making ODIs interesting. There are new diktats being issued about the extent of wrath teams invite when they drop captains. The conscience keeper of Indian cricket joins the gang on Episode 88 of Bits and Pieces, for a wide-ranging chat on the heavy-handedness of the BCCI and what that means for Indian cricket in particular, and world cricket at large. Nitin, Prashant and Vipul dive deep into Sharda's recent BCCI magnum opus on the Caravan, the ticketing and organisational fiasco around the World Cup, India's curious relationship with Pakistan cricket, the IPL, the tamatar that binds the Indian cricket curry and much much more. Along the way, a peek into Sharda's amazing writing process, her amazing sense of humour, and a couple of killer anecdotes involving personalities as varied as Abhinav Bindra and Arun Dhumal.

Our friendly bunch of friends record this week's episode right after the India vs. Pak match in the Asia Cup ended as a damp squib. They waste no time in likening the proceedings in the first half of the match to a time and place they know in their bones. There's also some synchronized jaw-dropping when they realize that yet again, Pak pace is haal 100% in and of itself, and the Indian lower order is 'haal behaal'. Collective cheering also happens at the recent results in the international women's cricket and the prospects of more twists and turnsin the ongoing Asia Cup.

Big Cricket scenes are upon us again with the Asia Cup, the Asian Games, the ODI World Cup scheduled for the near future. This week's podcast has the five friends still feeling unsure about the ODI WC schedule and thinking about first world problems related to which credit card is better for which event - that conversation Ark is as "deluge-ional" as a certain Noah's jokes. They wibble endlessly about Mankading and Womankading yet again and they plan to construct a church in the honour of (Cameroon's) Douma-nkading. They do their weekly Logical Reasoning as well as Athletic Seasoning practice with the context of KL Rahul's niggles, Yo Yo Tests, India playing XI formations and they listen in to the dispatches of our Diaspora Affairs correspondent from England, Rachana Ramchand from the Blind cricket World Cups for Men and Women.

In Episode 83, our enthusiasm is undimmed by India's supremely sub-par showing in the Caribbean. As the BCCI continues to muck up the 2023 ODI World Cup, we remember previous better conducted cricket events, such as the Cognizant office tournament. We start talking about Mukesh Kumar, and end up making as many detours as possible, and finish by talking about Kuldeep Yadav, whose run of rotten luck continues thanks to the terrible puns we subject him to. In between times, a full week after the Rashomon Ashes ended 2-2, we try to decipher who actually won it, because everyone, their uncle and the ICC has their own take on the matter. Hardik Pandya may or may not feature in a future episode of Bits and Pieces. (If he does, he will be unique.) This podcast is brought to you by Dileep Jajodia's Duke Balls (2018 version available in matte finish and gloss finish). Remember the name - Dileep Jajodia... Can a nightmare leave you nostalgic? Yes - if you are an India cricket fan whose formative years were the 90s! That glorious decade that continues to hold us to ransom in its thrall, subjecting us to the sporting equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome. This episode is a break from our regular programming, as Tony, PGK and Nitin relive the 90s alongside Sidvee. From Srinath lengths to Sidhu's strokelessness, Sachin's haplessness to Sanjay's hopelessness, Kumble's pace to Prasad's lack of it, Javed's six and the enduring Sharjah hoodoo, Sourav's eyesight, the one-stop solution to every problem dogging Indian cricket from the openers who can't keep batting, to openings for keeping (ie Mongia), from Azhar's wristwork to his hazaar wrist watches - no holy cow is spared. In the very depths of hell, they say you find the ashes of the greatest sinners and their spirits left to wander. Quite the contrast to the last two weeks, where we have seen the very depths of hell in the Ashes while the greatest sinners are wandering instead quoting spirits (of cricket) after having lost every session, day and game with complete abandon.
Bashball is the take English media won’t write because they are.. after all English, and the Indian media won’t do because they are too busy screaming for TRPs. Hence we at BNP decided to do you that favour of surgically ripping apart the travesty that was ‘Bazball’ and the ignominy that is the Ashes.

In the aftermath of a deflating loss in the WTC final at the Oval, the legendary Hank Philharmonic Symphony descends to the recording and delivers potential Grammy-winning introductions for those on the panel in this episode, thus lifting their hurt spirits. But once the spirits exit the elevator, the friends see Bazball and they see Ashes and meditate a bit about the first Bazball Ashes without realizing that their uncledom is on full display. Then they turn their attention to the Duleep Trophy – would it be enough to get you listening if we tell you that their final suggestion is to rename it as the Duleep Mendis Trophy? And of course, the R Ashwin interview on stoicism and the R Ashwin double review invoking stereochemistry are topics on which they also give up.

Another ICC final, another Indian defeat. The stoicism of the Bits and Pieces panel is tested to the limit, but they show up again (unlike India's Test side) for Episode 75, which spans the soap opera that is India selection, Ashwin's omission, Umesh's inclusion, Shardul's protrusion, Kohli-Pujara-Rohit-Gill's enduring irritation, Rahane's resurrection, Head's accumulation, Starc's excretion and the MCC manual's arbitrary catch arbitration. Who do we end up pinning the blame on for India's repeated defeats in ICC events? Listen on to find out.

The Great War has well and truly ended and miraculously, we have five scarred survivors who look back on the Great War and look forward to a battle of a different kind to be fought on an almost circular battlefield. After gazing wistfully at the credits and debits of the War, they shift their attention to the Final which probably doesn’t feel like one. They are hoping for the best but fearing the worst. They are looking at battle formations and weather conditions, jinxes and reverse jinxes, experts and punters. They are eyeing the opposition with brows furrowed and eyes narrowed. They are holding their collective breaths for a battle that’s been a long time coming.

Moments after Ravindra Jadeja flapped Mohit Sharma to the fine-leg fence to signal CSK's fifth IPL title triumph, the Bits and Pieces gang assembled to discuss the most engrossing final in the world of cricket this year. That's right! Tune in for a detailed preview to the World Test Championship final between India and Australia.
Hehe, kidding. We talk till the cows come home about Chennai Super Kings' vexing title triumph, MS Dhoni's coronation not being a causation for their success, Rayudu's skills at bringing home the biryani, Thala's batting, Shivam Dube's long levers, Dhoni's captaincy, Ajinkya Rahane's complete transformation into a world-feared middle-order basher, MSD's irritating ability to make it all about himself even when he's seemingly trying to do the opposite, but not really, Devon Conway's Player of the Final award that he'll struggle to explain to his grandkids years from now, Mumbai Indians' tendency to copy ideas from Captain Cool and much much more. Oh, and we talk about Dhoni. Today we are all Dhoni. Plus great ideas around how Saudi Arabia can save Test cricket, and inputs on the Eden Gardens' pitch curator's block list.

Moments after the final league match of IPL 2023, Max, Sandy, Murali and Nitin assemble - completely coincidentally, in the colours of the four teams that finally made the playoffs - for another episode of batshit banter and questionable gyan. We take a close look at the leading runs and wickets charts of the IPL and are astounded to note the complete (Naveen-ul) lack of players from Lucknow Super Giants in it. The group jumps from IPL to WTC to Ashes to ICC rule changes with the sort of deft footwork that Shivam Dube would scoff at. More theories to explain CSK's march to the play-offs, and confident predictions about Gujarat's impending second title, as well as Mumbai's impending sixth title in here - we'll be back to troll the wrong guessers next week. In Ep 70, we have Sameer from The Brokenhearted Boys Club of RCB and Chops from the 1940s and debutant Varun Murali as President of his RWA’s IPL Debating Society exchanging non-existent notes and reviewing non-newsworthy pieces of news as the IPL juggernaut rolls on in a strangely traffucked sort of manner, especially in the middle of the points table (no, not the one for Fairplay). They also talk about India’s injured and dying prospects in the WTC final and Pujara’s success at Sussex and round it up with two retirement announcements that made them nostalgic.

Peter has been coming to India for 30 years, and has seen more of India than most of us, and his outside-in observations on the country's cricket, politics, infrastructure, economy, and yes - beer - should make for interesting listening. The gang puts Dr. Strange to shame by painting out elaborate scenarios around how Bazball is likely to fare in the Ashes and when England next tour India. Like the Nagpur Test which featured three debutants in Todd Murphy, SKY and KS Bharat, Episode 58 of your favourite cricket podcast features three smashing debutants - Mayur Narasimhan, Sandeep Lanjewar and Vaishnavi Bhaskaran. The gang assembles to discuss Australia's strangely underwhelming performance in the first Test, the hand-wringing around the pitch, selection headaches and absolute Indian dominance led by Rohit Sharma and the spinning trinity. We wonder if we accidentally passed on the BnP jinx to Australia via our good friend Bharat Sundaresan, whose pitch pic triggered a collective meltdown amidst Aussie media and the team thinktank. We also chat about the Women's World Cup, the WPL Draft, the various pointless T20 leagues around the world featuring Tom Moody as coach, and re-register our annoyance at Pakistan's continued cold-shouldering by the BCCI.

Hunger by Fidel on Fifty Two: https://fiftytwo.in/story/hunger/
Do you remember that day, many decades ago? Travel back in time. What do you see?
Do you see that young, handsome kid with short, curly hair and a straight bat, performing magic in the middle? He's defending the danger balls solidly, covering his stumps when the angle is threatening, and shredding the bad balls - rock, paper, scissors. The entire city has come to watch him play. There are three times as many people outside the ground, as there are inside, trying to get in. Some of them are finding their way in over the fences, hoisted ludicrously in human-sized drums and buckets, pulled over the walls by their friends already inside. On the far side of the ground, there is a prison, separated from the field by a sturdy wall with peepholes. And on the other side of the wall, convicts are squinting through the holes to catch a glimpse of the action. Watching him play is the only solace in the miserable lives of these hapless souls, scoffed at as pariahs in their own land. The jailer's son in watching too, inspired. Who knows - one day, it could be his turn. Have we heard his story before? The streets outside the ground are teeming with action, of a different kind. Hospitable hawkers eager to please, selling nuts, perfumes, guns and everything else under the sun. The light is fading. The crowd doesn't want the action to cease - they are burning newspapers to illuminate the ground and help the batter see better! Sights never seen on a cricket ground before. The kid is on 99, and smashes one more away, a glorious shot to complete a glorious 100! The radio commentator, in his brilliant blue tie, goes silent. Not because he's lost for words, but he's filled with emotions. He's wearing a tie that no one will get to see, and he's forming those words in his mind, words that perhaps no one will get to hear. But they are his words, and they will forever be his. One day, someone will chronicle the story again, in a manner befitting its magnificence. A story that everyone thought they already knew, but one they will discover anew and be filled with wonder...

In Episode 47, we have the friendliest, most trans-continental cricket person ever joining the panel. Bharat Sundaresan regales us with stories upon stories of cricketing goodness. He talks about finding the intimate side of the intimidating Mitch Johnson, and about being an innocent bystander who got co-opted into Marlon Samuels' boorish post World Cup presser. He regales us with tales of driving across the length and breadth of Australia in 2020, touring the country alongside the touring Indians - tales that will soon be out in an epic book, on the epic series. His Rohit Sharma impression has us clutching our sides, and he has hair-care and styling tips that you may or may not want to follow - but if you're an aspiring cricket journo (or if you are Kane Williamson) you surely want to learn from him about observing the action at the nets. Bharat is one of the genuinely good people in cricket, and it was pure joy to have him on for this episode.

In the wake of a meh World Cup campaign for India, Chops and Srinath are in a post-mortem-esque mood; they bring to you their own version of armchair handwringing and criticism with hopes against hope that things will change for the better as far as Indian men's T20I cricket is concerned. With not much cricket of note during the week gone by, they shift their attention to trading personal stories and anecdotes from their favourite Tests from the delicious Australia in India rivalry. From epic ways to follow cricket as schoolboys to tales of Indian spin greats helping out Aussie spin novices, from the traditional Test centres of Delhi and Bangalore to the thrillers at Mohali and Dharamshala, it has been a clash for the ages and the 2023 edition can't start soon enough for these two. This episode was recorded minutes after England won the final of the T20 World Cup, which now means that an Indian-origin Prime Minister now holds both the ODI and T20 gongs. We subscribe to the 'Anybody But England' school of thought, but in Episode 45 our main question is 'Can anybody beat England?' Tony, Murali, Sameer and Nitin once again relive the agony of India's horrendous defeat in the semi-final, and Pakistan's much more spirited effort in the MCG final, where Jos Buttler and co. reigned supreme. Along the way, in addition to our love for hating England, we talk about India's love for middle-aged anchors, Mt. Manganui's love for being mispronounced, MS Dhoni's love for aviation, Sanju Samson's love for parottas, Australia's love for Prime Ministers and Ilayaraja's love for wordplay.
(Note - Our joy at England's win translated to a higher than normal frequency of F-Bombs in this episode. And hence the Tarantino-esque title to the show)

Mohan K reports from the MCG after witnessing India v Zimbabwe alongside 92,000 other people. SKY or Moin Khan - who is the better gum-chewer? If 2022 is a repeat of 1992, who is the new Inzamam, and is Babar Azam reprising Rameez Raja or Imran Khan? Is the Scene on for Pakistan again? Will it be India v Pakistan at the MCG again? Which is that one team that no one can stand anymore? (Hint: It's not England) Tune in to find out.

As the cricketing world went into a collective meltdown following Deepti Sharma's run out of Charlie Dean for backing up too far, we convened to ask the important question - what exactly is the Spirit of Cricket? Is it that peg of Old Monk that makes bad Bollywood cricket movies go down easy? It is the pissy smell you get in the poorly maintained toilets at Indian grounds? Is it the spit that's been permanently banned from ball-shining services? Is it... well... tomato chutney? Find out the answers in Episode 38, where we also take a punt on India's chances at the World Cup, and bid Jhulan Goswami a fond farewell.

Episode 24 of Bits and Pieces has the gang reacting to the mind-blowing IPL broadcast right deals, and to the equally mind-blowing Dinesh Karthik who now has more comebacks than Shahid Afridi (haha, kidding). It also features an epic and eloquent IPL rant from our returning veteran Mohan K, and an equally epic trivia quiz on Hong Kong Sixes and stat (thigh) padding hosted by show debutant Thejaswi Udupa. Meanwhile, show regulars Tony, Krtgrphr and Nitin do their usual nonsense.

On Episode 22 of Bits and Pieces, the gang's promise of returning to real cricket gets real. Srinath, Kaus and Krt intently debate the buzz around Baz-ball, before realizing that English cricket (and the Lord's pitch) is just as sub-standard as it was before the IPL; and then getting distracted by the American chapter of the "Baseball Fans of Pat Cummins" association - a proper KKR-y Conspiracy. India's T20 and Test squads also find mention, with Shaz making the journey from team to commentary box, and DK making the reverse journey to continue his remarkable, unsinkable career/carrier - the Ship of Theseus. Will Baz win his first test, or will he win by losing, thus becoming English cricket's... Baazigar?

PGK, Tony, Kaus, Murali, Krtgrphr and Knittins come together minutes after Gujarat Titans' title win, to wrap up a season where nothing made sense - be it the garish CGI eagle, the Guinness-record breaking jersey (poor Dwayne Leverock), the team anthems, or the eventual champions, whom no one was backing. At the end of the day, Ashish Nehra was the winner. And KL Rahul continues to plumb new (Mundhe Baaro) lows da.

Rachana Ramchand makes a smashing debut on the podcast alongside regulars PGK, Srinath, and Krtgrphr to celebrate women's cricket! The gang looks back at Australia's title run at the World Cup and at India's heartbreaking pre-semifinal exit. But it was a fantastic World Cup, featuring close games, closely matched teams, and showcased the best features of the women's game. The gang also comments on Sunrisers and Chennai Super Kings' sobering starts to the IPL and reviews Australia's tour of Pakistan where there were shared series wins, and great draws, but the greatest draw - was Alyssa Healy's husband!

Episode 10 of your friendly neighbourhood cricket podcast is a pronunciation masterclass, where Yash Dhull and Nkrumah Bonner get their names Labuschagned. The gang ponders the flatness of the National Highways rolled out for Australia's Test tour of Pakistan, and their stark contrast to the #PeakBengaluru pitches India are tormenting Sri Lanka on. And we contemplate Sreesanth's eclectic India career.
