Sometimes jumping head first into a new health and fitness lifestyle can seem overwhelming. So don't jump head first. Just wade into it and set yourself up for success. Slow and steady wins! Today we'll chat about 4 things you can implement now - you still have over 60 days left in the year - that can get you ahead of the game of the famous New Year's Resolutions. If you're interested in having a guide/coach/cheerleader to help you along the way, email me at amy@amyroscoe.com , DM me on IG @amyjrocsoe , OR sign up here. Thanks for listening and let me know if this was helpful by leaving me a 5 start review. :)
The phrase reverse dieting sounds like a total oxymoron. Why in the world would anymore reverse a diet? Well, in today's episode, I'm going to chat about what it means and how it can be helpful to some folks. Especially those people who have been on decade long calorie deficit diets. Please share this episode with anyone in your life who may benefit from understanding this concept. And PLEASE leave a 5 star review...not only would it make me super happy, it helps other women find the podcast.
If you grew up in the 80's and 90's chances are you were told that in order to lose weight you should eat less and move more. And even though that is true, it's not that simple. Not eating enough may be why you aren't losing weight. Crazy, right? Well, on today's episode, I'll explain in more detail why this is the case. So glad you're here! If you could take a moment to leave me a 5 star review, that would help me in so many ways. But more importantly, it would help other women find this podcast and spread the message of health. Do you sometimes feel like we are in the forgotten age? Everyone needs you but it feels so thankless and oh so not glamorous? In our 40's and 50's a lot of us find ourselves running our children from social event to social event, barely talking to our friends anymore, trying to find the energy and time for a romantic relationship with our spouse, building our career, keeping the household afloat with a clean house and healthy food, caring for our aging parents, trying to fit in self care......and well, the list can go on and on. And trying to tackle all these things can feel really overwhelming and lonely sometimes. But you are NOT alone. There is a sisterhood out there with you. And caring for yourself first can make all the other responsibilities feel a little more manageable. So today's episode is a little self therapy for me and hopefully a virtual hug for you. Go for a walk or grab a cup of coffee and take a minute for yourself. Bug HUGS!!!! Amy PS if you have any questions about starting a new health journey or want to work with me, please email me at amy@amyroscoe.com and/or DM me on IG https://www.instagram.com/amyjroscoe/ (@amyjroscoe)

So you're working out and eating well but not seeing the progress you want to see? Of course, fitness and wellness is a way of life. And it can be used for so much more than trying to change our bodies. But a lot of the time, we're using it to loose weight or gain muscle. And sometimes, even though we think we're doing everything right, we're actually missing a piece of the puzzle. Are you eating enough? Yep, I know that's a crazy question. You think “less calories = weight loss”. But actually not eating enough can derail your weight loss and/or muscle gain. And in the long run slow down your metabolism. Are you focused on showing everyone else around you loving-kindness? Do you give yourself the same respect? I believe in order to be able to pass along loving kindness to others, we must first give that gift to ourselves. We may be good at faking the love and kindness, but that authentic giving comes when we ourselves are being vulnerable and real. In this episode I share a loving-kindness mantra. https://www.mindful.org/this-loving-kindness-meditation-is-a-radical-act-of-love/ (Here's a link) to an article by Jon Kabat-Zinn that spells out the mantra. You can use this mantra to build loving kindness for yourself and others in the world. I firmly believe everything is made of energy. And it is our responsibility to keep our little part of the world as positive as possible. Sometimes that proves to not be so easy, but stay the course because staying consistent is the best way to succeed. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @amyjroscoe

Funny how we're all so connected and yet feel so disconnected. As I've gotten older and look back at all the years I neglected to actually be present, it really breaks my heart. So I refuse to allow any more time go by with me being a bystander instead of the main character in my own life. So I'm sharing 3 things I have used and you can start doing today to help you be more connected in your daily life. After all, our lives are made up of small, simple moments. I mention a meditation app I use - Insight Timer - Meditation App. It is free. You can upgrade but there is plenty you can use to get started.
