In this heartfelt episode, we dive deep into a story of transformation, community, and the search for a meaningful life. Hampus shares his journey from a traditional Swedish upbringing and a successful career in business to embracing inner transformation and becoming a community leader at one of Europe’s most unique intentional living spaces.

You’ll hear about the magic of Ängsbacka, reflections on modern childhood, community parenting, what it means to live authentically, and why inner transformation is inseparable from global change. We talk about personal change, psychedelics, yoga, meditation and more. We further discuss how to invite fear, joy, sorrow, and everything else in between into your life.

This episode is about trusting life, the power of presence, and the courage to live truthfully — for yourself and others.

In this episode, you will learn about injustice and the inequality of the education system, particularly in the US. You will learn about so called “elite colleges” and why they in fact increase inequality and segregation instead of fighting against it. Evan graduated from Harvard Law School himself but he teaches at a public college and he would not change anything about it. Today, you will learn why. We talk about how elite colleges and suburbs work together to exacerbate social inequality. The book reveals how tacit agreements between exclusive “Ivy-plus” schools and white affluent suburbs create widespread de facto segregation. You will also hear success stories of wonderful, hard-working people most of which did not study at Ivy League universities. You will be confronted with the questions whether or not you are ready to acknowledge your bubble and make first attempts to step out of it. Finally, we talk about positives changes, hope and first contacts.

In this episode, we talk about community dialogue and the concept of Living Room Conversations. Sharing personal experience can be much stronger than arguing about different opinions and debating about personal sentiment. It all starts with the willingness to talk, conversation agreements and finding the right topic to talk about. We discuss what it means to be part of a community and why dialogue is so important on different levels. We talk about how to address sex education if schools prohibit to do so and we elaborate ways to openly take up topics such as LGBTQ, domestic violence and gun restrictions with people who have very different beliefs and values. You will learn about the importance of diversity in a conversation and how to reach out to other communities to discuss any sensitive topic. You will get to know what conversations are being hosted most recently and we discuss the difference of physical and virtual conversations and the felt impact of both.

In this episode, we discuss why mental well-being is so important and we distinguish between Psychotherapy, Life Coaching and Psychometric Testing. Joshua talks about ways to figure out where you are in the workplace and whom you can work with best and we dismantle the concepts behind “Working to Live” and “Living to Work”. Joshua talks about trauma and how one can unmask it in order to relief the huge pressure that lays on so-called “high achievers”. The path of healing starts starts with acknowledging that there is an issue and we discuss time for reflection and the impact of cryptocurrencies on mental health. We discuss key components of job satisfaction and how meaning and a purpose of a job tie everything together. We evaluate the power of documenting change and what role the moon plays in that. Justin Douglas: Know Thyself and Transform Your Talents into Strengths | #022

In this episode, we talk about being aware of your very own strengths, the CliftonStrengths assessment and how to interpret your results. Studies show that people that focus on their strengths over and above their weaknesses are 6 times more likely to report feeling engaged in their role and 3 times more likely to report an excellent quality of life. Even if you share talents and strengths with someone else (the chance of having the same top 5 in the same order as someone else is 1: 33.000.000), you may be a very different character and you will learn why. We talk about perfectionism and why good enough sometimes is very well sufficient. Justin and I compare our reports and we discuss what similarities mean and what they do not mean. We evaluate that we don’t need a scientist to tell us that we are full of incredible differences and value for our society, but it can help! We discuss exceptional breakthrough moments of clients that Justin has worked with and we go into a deep dive on “self-assurance”. We then turn to a topic on lots of people’s minds, sustainability and eco anxiety: we discuss that actions are worth doing if they are simply inherently good and we make a link to strengths. Justin also links sustainability to injustice and shares his very personal message with you and the world.

In this episode, Dominik shares how a daily structure helps him to start every day being a success. We discuss how following a structure and experiencing first benefits do help you to change for the better. A clear life vision supports the plan on where you want to be in 3-5 years and its essential to be clear about such. We elaborate on frequently checking assumptions and how important rethinking is for us. Different changes need a different pace and its worth having a stable challenger network and we will share how to create one. We further discuss the difference of trying, testing and proving something. Discipline gives you ultimate freedom and we talk about why an activity that does not need you to be perfect helps helps us a lot. If something is important to you - like friendships are for us - you may want to give energy to it and take notes . Finally, we dismantle white lies, why it’s important to acknowledge them and we discuss how to avoid them.

In this episode, we talk about Maike’s desire to help driven individuals, leaders, and organisations to flourish. We talk about mental health being so much more than the inexistence of mental illness and how Positive Psychology has gone through multiple waves to reach its current state. Maike shares with us some of the many benefits of this discipline in psychology and we elaborate on self-leadership, self-knowledge and what you need to thrive and flourish. We talk about why there is so much more to setting goals than making them SMART and together, we dismantle motivation and give a perspective that may help you to find some more of it. If you want to live a perfect life according to your terms, the first step is to figure out those terms and gain self-knowledge. We discuss the difference of internal and external assessments of your strengths and why it is so important to be aware of them. Maike explains how your values are acting as a compass and why they are a key component for happiness. We look into the power of asking questions and learn how motivation and mental and physical energy are inseparable. We discuss four different types of extrinsic motivation and their quality. We discuss the danger of “miswanting”, cognitive dissonance and why telling yourself stories that are not true is the most inefficient thing to do if you want to create a life you love. Finally, we learn how to create self-trust and why it is so important before we discuss how you need autonomy, competence and relatedness in regard to motivate yourself to change.

In this episode, we talk about Cleantech and Sustainability. We elaborate how Business, Economy and Technology can be key towards sustainability when combined. We learn how humanity can be smart and very dumb at the same time and what we can improve in regard to turning facts into actions. We discuss positive social tipping points and the necessity to internalise costs that are externalised today and how this will shift our economy and society automatically. Policy is key and it needs to set the framework for change and we discuss differences of Cleantech in North America, Europe and Asia. We take a look at renewables and ways on how to speed up and accelerate sustainable technologies like wind, solar and green hydrogen. David shares success stories and promising industry and technology trends and we evaluate different driving forces around the world. It is a fact that we are currently totally missing CO2 reduction targets and that we are doomed if we are not changing fast. The main bottleneck is people and we need individuals to implement promising technologies and make a change. Finally, we discuss how to follow your heart and your passions when choosing a job and how money will start coming in automatically if you find the right career.

In this episode, we discuss what one can take away from being brought up in different countries and continents. Differences of cultures can create (perceived) culture shocks and that is something that still can happen to Muna and myself. We talk about the importance of communication and active listening and we dismantle the word “understanding”. We discuss that words are tricky and what we can learn when talking about trees. We talk about the opportunity of learning while debating and we learn a thing or two about folding your hands. We talk about how experience and our personal life journey shapes our understanding of the world. Further, we evaluate the willingness to listen to each other, creating common ground and listening to the little things - all of which create trust that is improving communications. This episode talks about the power of trusting people per default and doing business in different countries and cultures and the strength of sincerity. Muna and I discuss the difference of being polite and being friendly and we exchange exercises on how to become more aware of yourself. We evaluate the power of sincerity, accepting yourself the way you are and self-awareness. And finally you will learn how much a piece of paper can help you with taking difficult decisions in life and what all of us can learn from little children.

In this episode, I discuss nine simple and easy-to-use techniques that all of us can follow to live a more authentic life. Living authentic liberates you from the pressures of always trying to be something else and it will will enable you to live more happy and with less stress and anxiety. Unhappiness can occur when people are not living their lives in a way that is aligned with their authentic selves and we discuss ways to take inventory of authentic and inauthentic moments and treat them accordingly. One way to live a more authentic life is to embrace imperfection - we all make mistakes. All the time. Nobody is perfect and that’s the beauty of life. After listening to this episode you will be equipped with tangible tools on how to follow your intuition, be more humble and take (back) control while being authentic.

In this episode, we discuss how Malte and his friend Olmo are planning to cycle from the Netherlands to Bali during a global pandemic. We talk about how well you can be prepared and how flexible you must stay when planning such an adventure. A lot of borders are currently closed and yet the two friends are planning to travel the whole distance on land and you will find out how. We talk about why NOW is the very best time for such an adventure and you will find out how Malte’s environment reacted to this move. A lot of (unforeseen) trouble can be expected but very little can hold the two friends back - you will learn why. Malte shares why he did not want to go alone. We will discuss the mindset needed to take important decisions like going on such an adventure and that the Western perspective on life might not be the only valid one. Malte talks about the preparations (mentally, physically, financially etc.) and all the things he won’t be able to prepare and he shares some details about his bike. We talk about being grateful, charity and giving back to the ones who do not have the same possibilities. And finally Malte will share his secret on how to stay happy and excited.

In this episode, I discuss the importance of failure in life. All of us have failed and all of us will fail again. The question is not if, but when. You can change your attitude towards failure though and turn failure into learning and growth. You will learn how to do so in this episode. More important than avoiding failure is to understand what you can learn from failure as failure is the only way forward and towards success.

In this episode, I discuss different aspects of freedom like freedom of speech, freedom from fear and freedom of want. Personal stories and experience for all three types of freedom are discussed and you will hear about travelling war zones, special nights out in Georgia and travelling Siberia in winter with -35°C by train. Being yourself is the only way to really become free and you will learn how to find a purpose and thrive. On the downside, freedom can also lead to isolation and loneliness and you will learn how a young billionaire cannot be free at all. Being by yourself can be liberating but at the same time, lots of things that look like freedom when you're with other people are just a form of exile when you're alone. You will learn how the world closed down on me during the lockdown in 2020 and how an embassy called me to move (much) faster.

In this episode, I introduce multiple definitions of happiness and share my own perspective on what keeps us going every day. You will learn about routines that make you live a longer (and happier life) and how to be grateful in life. I share my personal experience on happiness among multiple pillars such as friendship, money, activities, learning and changes and you will hear some stories from around the world. Happiness is not the reward for an activity but an activity itself and you will find out how to find the right activities for yourself. You will learn about how talking to strangers can make you happy and how to keep a positive mindset and stay excited - even without a lot of money. Sharing happiness with other people makes most of us happier than isolation and we can surround ourselves with people that lift us up and encourage us. By putting your focus on what is already there and what is in your control, you can actively shape your life towards more happiness.
