Well, That Was... Podcast with Jess Woodnorth is back and better than ever with the first series of 2022 - That Was... A Great Start to the Week. Tune in every Monday throughout March and April for a brilliant start to the week. In each episode, Jess is joined by a different guest - podcasters, entrepreneurs and even an Olympic athlete all with one thing in common: they're inspiring as f**k. This series focuses on how each guest strives to live a life that aligns with who they want to be and where they will be prioritising their energy in 2022. I left every single conversation feeling exactly as I'd hoped I would; inspired, motivated and just generally stoked to be alive - I hope you find the same value in listening to these chats.
I'm in Greece, moving to Portugal, and planning on going back to Bali?? Meanwhile, Sav is absolutely killing it - hear all the latest updates in this episode.
Another catch-up episode where I chat about all the highs and lows of being a solo female traveller in Bali so far.
I've been here for almost 3 weeks now and I'm loving every minute of it, even when things go wrong. And I'm loving getting to bring you guys along on the ride.

Three days into my solo travel around Bali and I got hit with some anxious overwhelm... I knew it would happen at some point but I definitely didn't expect it this early. In this episode I chat about managing your mental health while travelling, both proactively and when you get hit with harder mental health days.
If you have a minute, please leave a rating or review on whatever platform you use for your podcast listening and don't hesitate to send me any feedback on Instagram @TodayClubPodcast.
In this episode I talk all things BUDGETING for travel! How much I saved for each place I'm visiting (no gatekeeping $ amounts), budgeting tips, and how much I blew my budget by during a month in Aus...
Recording this episode motivated me to stock-tae where I'm at with my budget and made me feel more motivated than ever to avoid avoiding thinking about it and prioritise transparency of how I'm doing with my actual versus budgeted spending as I go. Transparency not only with you guys, but also with myself.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of country who's lands were never ceded. I pay my respects to elders past and present. This episode was recorded on Turrbal land.
Buckle up for a classic Jess rambling life update!! Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, having covid, re-entering the dating game(?), being too judgemental, and more.

If you've been on TikTok, you've probably seen one of Sav's videos - @SavandMark. Whether people love them or hate them, everyone seems to have an opinion on age-gap relationships. At the time of recording, Sav and Mark had a video they'd posted the night before going viral... we're talking over 8 million views viral. A 22-year age-gap marriage gets people talking, with many in the comments comparing Mark to an array of celebrities and others voicing their concerns. It's polarising, it's spicy, and it gets people fired up.
In this episode, Sav and I discuss content creation, mental health, and her marriage to Mark. I absolutely LOVED having these chats with Sav and hope you take some value from the episode as a listener.

I am LOVING my trip so far... 6 days in. One of the highlights is of course getting to see so many friends I haven't seen in a long time, it's been a huge reminder of the value of quality time. Auckland, Waiheke Island, and now Sydney! My trip is off to a great start, listen in for a full update.
I also talk through an exercise I learnt a while ago, originally I heard about it in the context of figuring out what you need/value in a romantic partner but I've found it really helpful in figuring out the key values I want to encompass in my day to day life. I talk through the exercise and get vulnerable sharing examples from my own.

I am quickly approaching the day I leave to travel for a few months before I decide what I want to do next... and where I want to end up.
This episode is a comprehensive guide to all the key things to do before you go traveling, I'm talking about everything months out from the trip... to the last couple of weeks.
Passports, bank cards, packing, appointments, and everything in between.
Janna founded Oeste while living in Portugal during Covid and quickly found success in what she was doing. It was great getting to chat about limiting beliefs at the start of her Oeste journey, mindset challenges, imposter syndrome, pivoting, and more.
I took so much value from this chat with Janna and I hope you do too.

Motivation comes and goes, that's very natural. However, when you struggle with your mental health, it can often be absent for such long periods that you wonder if it'll ever show up again at all. Over the past few years, I've learnt that I can't count on having the motivation to show up for myself each day, as the person I want to be. So I've slowly learnt tools and tricks for showing up each day in different areas of my life, even when motivation is nowhere to be seen.
In this episode, I chat about a rough mental health patch I'm in at the moment to #keepitreal, before getting into discussing some of my favourite tools for when motivation is at a low-point.

My journey when it comes to taking medication for my mental health hasn't been an easy one, but I've learnt a lot along the way.
In this episode, I discuss the power of the anxious mind, the importance of being in the right mindset if you choose to try medication, and the differences between when I first tried medication back in 2020 (spoiler alert, it did not go well) and my experience starting back on medication last year.
A key takeaway from this episode is that the people you surround yourself with when navigating your mental health and expanding your mental health toolbox can make a world of difference. Having the right professionals in your corner, and support systems in your personal life can make the whole journey feel less overwhelming. I hope this episode can help even just one person feel less alone as they navigate taking, or considering, medication for their mental health.
*Disclaimer: All opinions and experiences expressed in this episode are my own and reflect my individual experience. I am not qualified in the area of mental health and if you have any questions about if medication might be right for you, please contact your GP or a mental health professional.

When I was 23, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or what I wanted to do. My mental health suffered, I felt constantly overwhelmed, and I had this underlying fear I was falling behind.
Now, at 25, I still have absolutely no idea what I'm doing or what I want to do. And I'm okay with that. It doesn't overwhelm me, I've adjusted to being content in the unknown, and have learnt tools to manage my mental health - despite my circumstances.
In this episode, I discuss learning to thrive in the unknown of your twenties. Talk about tools that helped me shift my mindset and remind us all that very few people feel like they've figured anything out in their twenties. It's a time of learning, growth, chaos, change, risks, and everything in between.

Self-doubt is something that almost everyone experiences at one point or another, but when you struggle with your mental health, it can feel even more intense and can present itself in the strangest of situations. It's a waste of energy, extremely uncomfortable and, often, completely pointless - none of that stops it from ingraining itself in our lives though.
In this epsiode, I talk about self-doubt in careers and relationships, discuss my own experiences, and present a range of tools that I've found help when it comes to managing self-doubt and building confidence.

I currently have the ultimate, basic b*tch, 'that girl' morning routine and I AM LOVING IT. In this episode I break down my routine, what I love about each element, and how I set myself up for success and self-compassion - no matter my motivation levels on the day.
I also chat about the evening routine I am slowly working to implement, it's not a great start and my first thought about it currently is 'urgh'. But... it's good for me. And sometimes the things that are good for us aren't the most fun things in the world. Prioritising your mental health, sleep health, and physical health is often very un-glamourous, and I'm learning to love that. Although, when it comes to my evening routine, it might need a trip back to the drawing board (stay tuned).

I'm truly alone for what feels like the first time in my life. No flatmates, no best friend I'm spending every day with, no boyfriend. Just me, myself, and I, living in a WONDERFUL studio apartment - learning how to spend time with me.
It's amazing, scary, challenging, motivating, and exciting all at once.
In this episode, I discuss the challenges, tools, and benefits of learning to be content alone. Please don't hesitate to send any feedback on Instagram, @TodayClubPodcast.

Everything you need to know to turn your podcast idea into a reality in 2023. Does starting a podcast align with who you want to be? I feel like so many people have incredible podcast ideas, and starting them could mean huge personal growth, but knowing where to start can be so daunting.
In this episode, I pull three years of learning through experience into a 30-minute episode of what I wish I'd known before starting a podcast. It will hopefully get you feeling motivated and inspired.
Naming your podcast, finding your why, podcasting mics, editing software, distribution platforms, and more. I cover it all in this episode.

What have I been up to lately? Well... somehow it simultaneously feels like I've been incredibly busy but also doing not a lot. Maybe this is adult-hood... between work, relationships, fitness, and navigating the ups and downs of mental health it doesn't feel like there's much space for anything else. Who knows. What I do know though is I can't wait to drink lots of cocktails and have SO much fun this summer, so those other things better learn to cooperate.
In this episode, I chat about my weekend. I talk about my recent half-marathon and the (long) process of going from hardly being able to run 1km to where I'm at now (over 6 months later).
I talk all things self-sabotage (classic) and rant about how much I LOVE learning about it because I recently assessed the progress I've made in the past two years and I am STOKED.
Lastly, I chat non-negotiables. I'm not talking in relationships, I'm talking with ourselves. Tune in to hear more.
If you have any feedback please message me over on the Today Club Podcast Instagram, @TodayClubPodcast, thank you so much for listening!
Instant gratification vs. delayed gratification... a constant compromise. How can you get what you want most today while also prioritising what you want most in the long run? In this episode, I talk about living in the now, without it costing you your future.
Health, relationships, work, finances - I talk about ways to navigate each of them, thinking about what you want long-term while also choosing not to sacrifice things that make you truly happy today.

A topic that SO many people wonder about! Making friends as an adult is a whole different ball game from making friends at school or while studying.

In this episode, learn to prioritise what's important to you in a realistic way that encourages self-compassion and sets you up for success when it comes to making, small consistent changes that align with who you want to be.
We are often so focused on our 'big' goals that we forget to strip it back and figure out what we have to do each day to get there. What's more than that, we forget to pause and figure out who we want to be when it comes to the things that matter the most such as how we treat ourselves and how we treat other people.
How do you show up for yourself each day? How are you kind to yourself on the days life feels messy and hard? What tools and services exist that can help make each 'today' even better? Today Club is a place for exploring all of this and more.

Did she take anyone back to the hall after a night out when she was working as an RA? Which of us was seeing an RA of another hall?? Why are sleepovers completely off the table when having casual sex??? Tune in to find out.

Birth control, mood swings, the pill, periods in Paris, PMS, PME, PMDD, IUDs, it's all discussed in this episode. A reminder that I am not an expert in this area and am simply reflecting on my own personal experience (and reading from a very interesting article). If you are concerned about anything related to your menstrual cycle, consult a doctor or health professional.

AULOG au-log audio log... the next big thing? I'm not sure but when it came to recording this episode, I couldn't bring myself to sit down and record a full episode so I went for a different approach. It's been a while. I took a break from having sex to work on my mental health and my relationship with myself, a break that some would consider very short but, for me, it felt like a truly transformational period (not to be dramatic).

We have 4 months to prepare for hot girls summer, get your head down and focus on what is adding value to your life, no one else's opinion matters it's time to focus on improving what YOU think of yourself. It's going to take work, it's going to be uncomfortable, some days you'll want to revert back to old habits of self-sabotage but we won't give up.
Welcome to the new public segment of Well, That Was... Podcast. Having a hot girl summer is nothing to do with how you look and entirely to do with how you feel, act and portray yourself. If you're anything like me, there's some work to be done, but I genuinely believe we've got this. In each HGS episode, I'll outline the three main things we'll be working on over the next month to set ourselves up to absolutely kill it this summer. This month, it's getting our priorities straight, addressing self-doubt and re-shaping the way we think about comparison.

So many of us have been there, using sex as a source of validation and an excuse to avoid facing the sh*t inside our heads. I've done it more times than I can count, but I often wasn't even aware of it. I love sex. Don't get me wrong. However, using it to avoid working on my relationship with myself isn't something I want to do anymore. Facing yourself and the approval and validation you've never bothered to learn how to give yourself is so uncomfortable, it sucks. But in the long run, taking the time to breathe through this discomfort and remind your subconscious that you are deserving of the highest levels of respect and appreciation will significantly improve your mental health.

This was such a fun episode to record!!! I was joined by the wonderful Sarah Saunders (find her on Instagram @visceralangel) to discuss our journeys from back when we were both convinced we were straight to now, a time where we both identify as bisexual women.
We laughed so much and I am so happy with the content of this episode so I really hope you all enjoy it! We discuss being bisexual in a hetero relationship, internalised homophobia, our first experiences with girls and everything in between.

Wanting to GTFO of a toxic situation but feel worried about how hard it will be? I hope this episode provides some comfort, I got you guys to send in your best advice for anyone wanting to leave, or who has just left, a toxic situation. I also go into a few more signs of toxicity in a relationship and discuss the importance of recognising and working on toxic traits that exist in your own behaviour.
In this episode I was also going to discuss wanting to stay and work on a relationship or friendship that is toxic by sharing my own story with Sav, however when she joined me to record we ended up chatting for over an hour and got more vulnerable and emotional than we thought we would. We will be releasing this part of the recording over on Learnt My Lesson Podcast (Spotify) (Apple Podcasts) on Wednesday.

Turn-ons, the ICK, my non-negotiables in a relationship and a letter to my future self, this episode covers it all.
Over 90% of you responded the poll on my Instagram stories saying you'd experienced getting the ick. Reading out your turn-ons, turn-offs and ick moments was so much fun and I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I loved recording it.
I also get very vulnerable at the end of the episode, recording a letter to my future, loved-up self. This is an activity I recommend everyone does as it made it very clear to me what I want my future relationship to add to my life.

What's your love language? Is one love language better than the others? Can relationships work when partners have different primary love languages?
In this episode, I dive into a discussion about the different kinds of love languages, how these can present in relationships and how your main love languages can significantly change over time. Understanding your love languages and the love languages of those you care about can lead to more fulfilling relationships. It can also help you understand yourself on a much deeper level, it can help you identify why certain things trigger you and help you work through stepping back and appreciating all the different ways people can show love, beyond your primary love language(s).

Not an episode I ever thought I'd record but as I see things such as choking, spitting & other kinks normalised through mediums such as Tiktok, it's a topic I'm feeling increasingly passionate about.
In the past, choking, hair pulling, handcuffs, etc would have most definitely been classed as 'kinky', however, an increasing number of people are deciding to incorporate them into the bedroom, but are people actually doing their research?
When it comes to trying these things, there is a safe way to try them, but they can also go VERY wrong.
So in this episode, Sav and I discuss the normalisation of some of these kinks and go into how to try incorporating choking or hair-pulling in the bedroom in a way that is safer than just going off what you think you're supposed to do.

Tom Lee & Graham Matthews started playing together when they met at MAINZ, since then they have played in clubs and at festivals around the country. They have also played at Springbreak Fiji multiple times and recently been touring the country playing at many NZ gigs and festivals.
I sat down with Tom to discuss the journey of Lee Mvtthews, some of his most memorable moments and wildest stories. Listen to their most recent release Harmony - Lee Mvtthews Remix on Spotify.
Follow Lee Mvtthews on Instagram to stay up to date with what they've got going on, a huge thank you to Tom for joining me for this episode.

Second chances - it's not always easy to know when to give them, in this episode I analyse my own tendencies when it comes to giving second chances and reflect on some of the feedback you sent in around your perspectives on giving people another chance.

In part two of my chat with the gorgeous Mia Paranihi we explore the topic of relationships. Mia opens ups about her own relationship and we discuss the unrealistic expectations social media can set for romantic relationships. We also share some JUICY storytimes so I hope you're ready.
Drinking game idea: Take a sip every time one of us says 'like' or 'yeah'. BONUS: Take a shot every time I'm shocked by something Mia says
We are both chaotic as fuck and I couldn't have imagined a better first guest episode, a huge thank you to Mia for coming on, find her on Instagram over at @miaparanihi !

This week I was joined by the incredible Mia Paranihi for a 2-part episode, once we started talking we found it hard to stop. In part one we discuss how to stop giving a fuck, taking control of your energy and practising self-acceptance.

This week has been insane but I've done it, I've managed to release an episode, enjoy this rogue life update and let me know what you think over on the podcast insta @wellthatwaspodcast xx
I don't know HOW my episodes keep getting increasingly out-the-gate, but they do. In this episode, I catch you all up on my life at the moment and rant about a whole lot of stuff that I've probably made-up in my head #justanxietythings.
I update you on my dating life, discuss how to be more confident, the secret to being attractive and a couple of other rogue thoughts.
Then I discuss the first part of my life in Barcelona. University, clubbing, broken suitcases, Belgium Djs, flatting and the best samosas ever.
If you have any feedback please message me over on Instagram at @wellthatwaspodcast or @jesswoodnorth
Rumours, 90% of those surveyed on my small-scale Instagram poll (research at it's finest) had heard a rumour about themselves. That's A LOT of people!
Sure, rumours can seem juicy and sometimes even spicy but they can also be incredibly harmful. In this episode, I share some rumours people have heard spread about themselves and I seriously overshare about my weekend.
Tune in for some more unsolicited opinions and out-the-gate stories, it helps me out heaps if you subscribe and review, also please don't hesitate to give me any feedback over on Instagram @Jesswoodnorth x
Disappointment is the devil of emotions. Worse than anger, worse than sadness. Being disappointed can completely throw you off your game SO quickly. I have always sucked at handling disappointment, in fact, that's an understatement. In this episode I share a couple of storytimes, did I cry over someone who had an imaginary daughter? Did the Ashley Bloomfield LML ep almost not happen? Did I make hundreds of dollars from getting kicked off a flight in Europe? Absolutely. This episode is chaotic but so is my life so let's roll with it. Feel free to give me any feedback over on Instagram @jesswoodnorth
Welcome to the podcast well, that was... From the shocking to the laughable, the bad bitch to the sad bitch, think of it as the weekly catch-up and/or therapy session you never knew you needed. I’m not sure what comes with more plot twists, my thought process or my actual life, but my therapist told me I should try talking things through with myself more often so I thought why not record it and see where it goes.

Who am I, why am I here and what the f*ck am I doing? Honestly, I have no idea! But I'm starting to realise that none of us really have a clue what's going on most of the time. In this episode, I talk through my thought process (or lack thereof) around starting this podcast, what I want to do with it and the component of having anxiety that has led me to some pretty ridiculous stories.
