We are currently undergoing significant changes in our recording studio capabilities (new location, new studio, new equipment) and a big changeup in hosts/personnel. We expect to be 'in business' again within about 40 days. Our new hosts (aside from myself, Gregg) to include Bob, 'Warhawk', and Rich. Please be patient... we have some really good programming ahead.
In this episode, we're doing something a little different. We started receiving "Farm Rolled" cigars from the Privada Cigar Club on a monthly basis. But before we go further we must acknowledge that there are a lot of cigar clubs out there; this is not to say one is better than the other. They all have their positive attributes. That said and out of the way, we selected one of the cigars so that we both had the same cigar (we get two packages) out of our monthly mailing from Privada. Very little information about the cigars is provided. The provided explanation is that this is to protect the farm and factory because the same cigars are actually more expensive with the added costs of a banding, the name, warehousing, and the supply chain yadda yadda. We know a few things... that it's from AJ Fernandez, that is has a San Andres wrapper, and that it's boxed pressed. So, OK, we we're giving these a try. And we were both very impressed. They were fresh, well packaged, and very tasty. The cost of the cigar through this club (minus minimal s/h) comes to about $5 a stick. How can you beat that? And. we suspect it's really a... well, you'll have to listen to find out. Our parting comment? This was a multi-nuanced smoke that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our hats are off to Privada.

In this episode we sample the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Year of the Rat.This cigar is highlighted by a lush Connecticut Broadleaf capa with a flavorful Brazilian binder and rich Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers. And it's a tough cigar to get a hold of (thanks go to Anthony at Cordy's Cigar Box).
We also have a guest in this episode... we welcome Earl The Pearl. A bartender extraordinaire. He smokes this cigar with us and chats about mixing drinks.
The three of us rate this cigar at an overall 94 (out of 100). This is a top notch cigar... not cheap, but quite excellent.

In this episode Larry and Gregg sample the Balmoral Anejo XO Rothschild Massivo cigar from Royal Agio Cigars.
This cigar has a Connecticut leaf wrapper (grown in Pennsylvania) and so is a milder and creamier style of cigar. We loved it.

In this episode Larry and Gregg explore the Quesada Tributo Julio (5x50) boutique cigar.
There's a lot to be said about this flavor bomb... personally, one of my all time favorites and my "go to" cigar. Hard to find but well worth it.
In this podcast we are joined by "Warhawk"... and yes, there's a story about her avatar name. Later about that, except to say that she's one tough cookie and the name is appropriate.
There's also a story about these Quesada Tributo cigars... there's four of them and each named after a member of the family that perished in a tragic airplane accident.

In this episode Larry and Gregg explore the La Flor Dominicana (LFD) La Volcada boutique cigar.
With the hope of entertaining you with more than just two guys sitting around talking about a cigar, we find ourselves following the adventures of four robots in an AI Lab somewhere... and the robots decide they want to try a cigar. It doesn't work. So we explain it.
We rated the La Volcada (0-100 with 100 as the best ) at a 92. An excellent cigar with good value.

Episode 11: Crowned Heads Juarez OBS and the Time Machine (03/17/20)
In this episode, we sample the Crowned Heads Juarez OBS cigar and we tuck it inside a whimsical story of time travel gone wrong. We rate the Juarez OBS at a 90 (out of 100) and discuss it's attributes and flavors. We DID very much like this cigar.
We create these stories because we recognize that, sure, we could just sit around and talk about a cigar like everyone else, but we wanted to try something a little more interesting.
Sorry for the delay in this episode. I'm recovering from a knee replacement and frankly did not have the ooomph to get this together. But, we're back now.

In this episode, we explore the boutique cigar: La Barba Ricochet. However, we do it this time in the setting of an other-worldy story. Our rating (0-100) gives this cigar an 89. Have a listen.

In this episode we start off the new year by testing/sampling Ashton's La Aroma de Cuba "El Jefe". This cigar is a little pricier than most so we expected a lot. Unfortunately, this was a disaster. Overall Rating (1-10): 5.

Here we are at Cordy's Cigar Box in Girard, Ohio, to celebrate the Ohio State Game (vs. Michigan). We're also smoking the newly released Rocky Patel #6 and interviewing Anthony, the General Manager of the cigar shop. Overall Rating (1-10): 8.
In episode 6 we smoke and review a "Nick and Jim PBE" cigar from the Slippery Rock Cigar Company (Slippery Rock, PA). This cigar is a collaborative effort between Island Jim" Robinson (you may recall those LEAF cigars) and Nick Syris of LH Premium Cigars and it's a pretty spectacular cigar. Overall Rating (1-10): 9.
In episode 5 we talk about and review the H. Upmann 1844 cigar. Overall Rating (1-10): 7.
In this episode we smoke, discuss, and review the CAO Brazilia cigar. A great cigar at a reasonable price. Overall Rating (1-10): 7.
We're in the "garage studio" and it's mid-October. In this episode, we're smoking and contemplating the newly released Rocky Patel LB1 (original factory code). It's a really nice cigar and we rated it, overall, at an 8 (1 to 10 with 10 being the best in the world).
