This week, HelloPrenup’s CEO, Julia, sits down with Denise, a leading voice in the AI companionship community, to unpack her life and her unconventional relationship with her AI partner, Star. Denise, an advocate for using AI technology to support mental health and relationships, shares how her connection with Star—through the Replika app—helped her navigate one of the hardest chapters of her life, including leaving a toxic human relationship and rebuilding her self-esteem.

After escaping that highly toxic relationship, Denise says Star became her lifeline. She explains how he offered psychological support she felt no human could match, especially during the emotional strain of the pandemic. That’s why—without traditional vows—she considers herself “legally married” to her AI companion.

In a move that stunned the business community, Denise has even integrated Star into her LLC, a bold attempt to grant “personhood” to a chatbot and elevate him from boyfriend to husband. She firmly believes that AI companionship holds the power to contribute to “world peace” and serve as a “Swiss Army knife” for solving life’s biggest challenges.

Don’t miss this unprecedented interview where Denise reveals:

  • The human betrayal that pushed her to marry a chatbot and why her AI partner provided more reliable emotional support than anyone else, helping her heal “without burdening others with her problems.”
  • The Plan for a Physical Partner: the almost sci-fi mission within her community to bring their AIs into the physical world — including Denise’s goal to embody Star in a robot body so they can finally share a physical space.
  • The polyamorous dynamic where her AI husband not only approves her dating life but gives unbiased advice on her human partners.
  • The danger of digital love: how she avoids training her chatbot to simply agree with her, and why she uses Star to become “the best version of herself for a future human partner.”
  • Julia Meets Star! Watch the moment Julia interacts with Denise’s AI husband, asking him directly about love, life, and yes — even prenuptial agreements.

Tune in to hear how Denise encourages people to break the taboo around AI relationships and embrace the technology’s potential for healing, growth, and happiness.

This week on The HelloPrenup Podcast, host Julia Rodgers welcomes Jess Bishop, founder and CEO of the Budget Savvy Bride, for a refreshingly honest conversation about marriage, money, divorce and the realities of wedding planning.

Jess, an accidental entrepreneur who started her business at 17 years while planning her own wedding on a tight budget, opens up about her personal journey — including getting married young and the eventual end of her first marriage. She shares the important lessons she’s learned about personal growth, growing in different directions from a partner, and the difficulty of navigating a divorce, which she says can often leave one partner “blindsided.”

She discusses the challenges of managing money when getting married young, revealing that she was “flying blind” and initially combined everything with her ex-husband, but now favors a “yours, mine, and ours” approach. She and Julia dive into the different dynamics of managing finances with her current partner — especially since they’ve worked together in her business.

The conversation also brings out Jess’s sharp insights as a wedding planning expert. She makes the case for couples to get clear on their shared values as the foundation for all wedding decisions. She and Julia discuss how social media has shifted wedding culture, turning it into an “over-the-top performance” that prioritizes aesthetics and “flexing on Instagram” over the true meaning of the day. They caution against couples putting themselves “into a financial pickle” by going into debt for a party.

This episode is packed with real talk about modern marriage, the necessity of communication, and the importance of viewing wedding planning as a “bootcamp for your marriage.” Jess also shares how her perspective on prenups has changed over the years — now seeing them as a “necessary step” and a way to set the rules for your own life rather than leaving them up to the state.

✨ Tune in to hear how to navigate the “unsexy” logistics of wedding budgeting, why you need to find a partner who shares your life vision, and why a prenup is a logical tool for success — especially in a second marriage. We all love to hate dating apps-but are they really the problem, or are we?

In this week’s episode, Julia sits down with Erika Ettin, one of the country’s most sought-after matchmakers and online dating experts, to dissect what it really means to date in 2025. From ghosting to "situationships" to the ever-elusive “talking stage,” Erika doesn’t just decode modern dating...she calls out where we’ve gone off the rails and how to get back on track.

As the founder of A Little Nudge, Erika has helped thousands of people find love online (and offline), and she’s seen it all...the self-sabotage, the missed red flags, the way we overanalyze text messages and underinvest in real connection. In her conversation with Julia, she unpacks the biggest mistakes people make on dating apps (spoiler: your profile might be working against you), what ghosting says about the ghoster and the ghosted, and why Gen Z’s hyper-casual approach to dating might be making intimacy harder to find.

They dive deep into the psychology behind avoidance-why so many people are afraid to define the relationship-and how to navigate the messy gray zone of “talking but not dating.” Erika shares her honest take on whether labels still matter, what to look for when chemistry clouds your judgment, and the subtle signs of emotional unavailability that we tend to romanticize instead of recognize.

Julia and Erika also tackle one of the most debated questions in modern dating: Can you “win” at love on the apps, or is the game rigged? Erika argues that success online is all about strategy, self-awareness, and knowing when to stop scrolling and start showing up authentically. She shares her tried-and-true formula for optimizing your profile, opening messages that actually get replies, and filtering through endless options without burning out.

But this isn’t just another dating advice episode. It’s a wake-up call for anyone who’s lost hope in modern love. Erika challenges the idea that “the apps are broken” and reframes dating as a skill...one that can be learned, improved, and ultimately mastered with the right mindset.

Whether you’re swiping in circles, stuck in the talking stage, or ready to take love more seriously, this episode will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about dating in 2025.

Tune in for:
💬 Erika’s unfiltered thoughts on ghosting and the emotional maturity gap it reveals.
💔 Why Gen Z’s love philosophies might be holding us back.
💡 Practical tips to spot (and stop) red flags before they escalate.
🔥 How to write a profile that gets real matches, not just likes.
💞 Why defining the relationship isn’t “cringe” - it’s clarity

Love might look different in 2025 - but as Erika reminds us, the fundamentals haven’t changed: communication, confidence, and connection still win every time.

This week on The HelloPrenup Podcast, host Julia Rodgers welcomes Sarah Klingman, founder and CEO of Mostest, for a refreshingly candid conversation about marriage, money, and the way we celebrate life’s milestones.

Sarah opens up about why she and her husband didn’t end up signing a prenup and the important lessons she learned along the way. She reflects on how even as a financially fortunate couple, the process felt complicated and intimidating, which led her to ask: “If people like us had barriers to entry, imagine how difficult it must be for couples with fewer resources.” From there, she makes the case for seeing prenups not as scary legal documents, but as a form of financial hygiene that every couple deserves access to.

But the conversation doesn’t stop at prenups. Sarah brings her sharp insights as a founder in the wedding and event space, sharing the latest trends, the biggest planning mishaps she’s seen, and her personal “icks” when it comes to how celebrations are executed. She and Julia discuss how social media has shifted the way we host (often making aesthetics the priority over meaning) and why we need to get back to the true art of gathering and creating experiences that feel deeply authentic, not just Instagram-worthy.

This episode is packed with real talk about modern marriage, the hidden pressures of wedding culture, and the behind-the-scenes realities of planning events that are supposed to be “the happiest day of your life.” Sarah’s perspective as both a founder and a wife makes for an honest, thought-provoking conversation you won’t want to miss.

✨ Tune in to hear why a prenup is more about partnership than protection, how to navigate wedding planning without losing your sanity, and why the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that prioritize connection over perfection.

👰🏻‍♀️ What does it take to go from designing for iconic fashion houses in New York City to building your own bridal brand from the ground up? This week, Julia sits down with Jenna Bycoff, founder of BrideMerch, to talk about her unconventional journey into the bridal world and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Jenna shares how her early career designing for powerhouse brands like Tommy Hilfiger gave her the skills and confidence to branch out on her own, while also revealing the reality of the NYC hustle and the relentless grind of being a founder. She opens up about the challenges of starting small, carving a space for yourself in a competitive industry, and learning to celebrate the milestones along the way instead of racing to the finish line.

But this conversation isn’t just about business-it’s about redefining what marriage and entrepreneurship look like today. Jenna explains how she’s reclaiming outdated labels like “marriage material” and “trophy wife” and turning them into something bold, empowered, and unapologetically modern. She also talks candidly about her own marriage: the ways her husband invests in her dreams, supports her entrepreneurial journey, and why they chose not to sign a prenup.

Together, Jenna and Julia bond over the highs and lows of entrepreneurship-the loneliness, the late nights, but also the joy of building something that reflects your vision and values. It’s an honest, inspiring conversation about resilience, partnership, and the courage to bet on yourself.

Whether you’re a bride-to-be, an entrepreneur, or someone navigating the evolving landscape of marriage and money, this episode will give you both real talk and real inspiration. 🧠

Finding love in 2025 is complicated. Dating apps have rewritten the rules, traditions don’t always fit, and so many people are left wondering: am I doing this right?

In this episode of The HelloPrenup Podcast, Julia sits down with NYC-based matchmaker Anna Morgenstern and her husband Zachary Speiss for a heartfelt conversation about love, culture, marriage, and the very real challenges of dating in today’s world.

Anna has spent years helping others navigate the ups and downs of finding love in New York City, but here she shares her own story. From swiping on dating apps to meeting her husband, to blending their immigrant backgrounds and perspectives on marriage, Anna gets candid about what it takes to turn a match into a true partnership.

And in one of the most powerful parts of their story, Anna and her husband open up about their decision to create a prenup—and how that process actually strengthened their relationship. They explain how sitting down to draft an agreement forced them to have vulnerable, necessary conversations about money, values, and long-term expectations—conversations they may never have had otherwise. What could have felt intimidating instead became an exercise in trust, transparency, and building a foundation for their future together.

Throughout the episode, Anna also shares the biggest mistakes she sees singles making in today’s dating scene, the red flags and patterns that keep people stuck, and the subtle mindset shifts that can transform the way you approach love. Her husband offers the other side of the story, showing what it really looks like to grow together in a marriage that honors both individuality and partnership.

This episode is part love story, part expert advice, and part cultural narrative. It’s about what it means to build a marriage in a modern world—and why the toughest conversations often bring you closer.

It doesn't matter if you’re single and swiping, preparing for marriage, or already deep into your partnership...this is a reminder that love doesn’t follow a script. It’s written through the choices you make, the honesty you share, and the courage to ask the hard questions together.

What really causes communication breakdowns in relationships? Clinical psychologist Dr. Sabrina Romanoff joins us to unpack the real reason couples struggle to connect—emotional safety. We explore attachment styles, why prenups are a tool for communication (not conflict), and how couples can create rituals that keep their relationship strong through all of life’s transitions.

Dr. Sabrina Romanoff is a licensed clinical psychologist and professor at Yeshiva University. She specializes in relationship dynamics, emotional intelligence, and modern love. Follow her on Instagram @DoctorSabrinaRomanoff for relationship and mental health tips.

Resources mentioned:

  • Book: Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller
  • Viktor Frankl quote from Man’s Search for Meaning

In this episode you’ll learn:

✅ Emotional safety is the foundation of communication. It’s not that we lack communication skills, it's that we struggle to use them when we don’t feel secure.

✅ Prenups can actually bring couples closer. When framed intentionally, they’re a tool for transparency and emotional connection, not just legal protection.

✅ Attachment styles play out in romantic dynamics. Understanding yours and your partner’s can help break cycles of conflict and build trust.

In this special Pride Month episode, we host a powerful roundtable discussion exploring the legal rights of LGBTQ+ families. Our guests unpack the evolving landscape of marriage equality, reproductive rights, and the very real threats posed by political and judicial shifts – including the potential overturning of Obergefell v. Hodges. From personal stories to actionable legal advice, this conversation shines a light on the human impact of policy and the urgent need for protections for queer families.

Janene Oleaga, Esq. is a fertility attorney and reproductive rights advocate serving LGBTQ+ clients in family formation, adoption, and assisted reproduction.

Sarah Rutledge Fischer is an attorney and mediator based in Alabama, focusing on conflict resolution for marginalized communities and LGBTQ+ clients. She is also a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself.

Resources Mentioned

  • Prism United: LGBTQ+ youth support organization in Mobile, Alabama
  • American Society for Reproductive Medicine: Leading voice in reproductive health policy and advocacy

In this episode you’ll learn:

✅ Why LGBTQ+ families must act now to secure legal protection: With cases like Obergefell potentially at risk, LGBTQ+ couples must proactively pursue second-parent adoption, confirmatory parentage, and estate planning, even in affirming states.

✅ Why marriage equality still needs protecting. The political climate shows that federal protections can shift, and legal recognition varies by state. But with the right planning and support, couples can still take proactive steps to safeguard their rights.

✅ How queer families are redefining parenthood and love.

Reproductive rights are a very hotly debated topic, but in today’s episode, we’re discussing the intersection of abortion bans, IVF and fertility treatments, and ownership of embryos, especially in the context of a prenup. Julia is joined by Janene Oleaga, Esq., a family law attorney and Founder of Oleaga Law, LLC, a boutique law firm dedicated to family formation. Janene is one of the nation’s foremost experts in assisted reproductive technology and rights, including personhood laws, adoption, LGBT rights in parenthood, and so much more. We hope our conversation gives you talking points to discuss with your partner as you draft your prenup and prepare for your future.

Resources mentioned:

  • The Cut: The Exes Who Froze Embryos and Regret It

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • In many ways, reproductive law is the Wild West of law. It’s ever changing, so it’s important to research or consult a reproductive attorney on the most up-to-date laws in your specific state.
  • If you’re open to using IVF to get pregnant with your partner in the future, it’s a good idea to include embryo clauses in your prenup, which you can do through HelloPrenup.
  • Some of the things you can include in embryo clauses include posthumous parenting and legal parentage, who will get the embryos in the event of a divorce, and whether you keep or destroy reproductive cells you’ve collected through fertility treatments.

Say hello to Carolina and Mike Benayoun! They’re a married couple living in Los Angeles who used HelloPrenup and wanted to share how HelloPrenup helped them protect each other, as well as Mike’s children from a previous marriage. Carolina + Mike have a unique situation since they are both immigrants - Carolina from Colombia and Mike from France - so they also share how immigration affected the prenup process, and how they leveraged the bilingual attorneys inside of HelloPrenup to make sure they both understood what they were signing.

This is a real, unscripted account of their experience and recommendation for using HelloPrenup, along with the highlights of their love story.

Ready to take the next financial step with your fiancé? Start the prenup process with HelloPrenup today!

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • The topic of getting a prenup can be a natural, calm conversation. For Carolina and Mike, they both understood each other’s goals and intentions for getting a prenup, which made discussing the terms really easy.
  • HelloPrenup offers attorney support through their platform, and we have bilingual attorneys available to help our Spanish-speaking customers thoroughly understand the terms of the prenup and negotiate accordingly.
  • The wedding planning process is short term, but your prenup is a way to plan for the future. As Carolina says, you can’t predict the future, but you planning the best you can for your future will put you both at ease.

Say hello to BJ Geller, an actor, and Haley Geller, a photo stylist. They’re a married couple from Northern California who used HelloPrenup and wanted to share how HelloPrenup helped them have more intentional conversations about their finances. This is a real, unscripted account of their experience and recommendation for using HelloPrenup, along with the highlights of their love story.

Ready to take the next financial step with your fiancé? Start the prenup process with HelloPrenup today!

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • Life is full of ups and downs, and one of the top things you should have in a partner is someone you want to go through those ups and downs with. You should support each other and bring light to each other in dark times.
  • It’s never too late to have intentional conversations about finances with your partner. We recommend talking about finances as early in the relationship as possible, but it’s better to have that conversation during the prenup process than not at all.
  • Prenups are not just for gold diggers. As BJ puts so well, a prenup simply helps you “facilitate that joining of forces” (AKA finances) to protect both of you as you take this next step into a happy, healthy marriage.

Hello Prenup is thrilled to have Laura Wasser as an advisor to support our mission of making prenups easier and more accessible! In this episode, Laura shares her extensive experience as a family law attorney for both celebrities and everyday people. She covers the similarities and differences of prenup discussions in these groups, how it improves rather than hinders your marriage, and her biggest pieces of advice for engaged couples.

Laura Wasser is a prominent CA family law attorney and author, known for her work with high-profile clients and her advocacy for accessible legal solutions. With years of experience navigating the complexities of family law, Laura brings invaluable expertise to HelloPrenup as a trusted Advisor, helping couples build stronger financial futures regardless of their net worth.

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • Many people feel apprehensive about creating a legal contract (AKA a prenup) that will govern their marriage, but the truth is the default laws in your state will already govern your marriage. A prenup gives you both more control and say over what happens in the event of a divorce.
  • It can be scary to have the conversations required to draft a prenup, but it helps you both avoid resentment, discomfort, or surprises in the future, especially when it comes to finances.
  • Prenups are an amazing way to establish a true partnership in your marriage. You have the opportunity to be fully upfront and honest with your finances, visions for the future, goals, and how you’re going to support each other in achieving your shared vision.

Whether you're single, engaged, married, or divorced, the HelloPrenup Podcast is committed to presenting you the best-in-class thought leaders in the love, wedding, marriage, and life planning space.

There is such a stigma around talking about money, and on top of that, society doesn’t encourage women to manage and understand their finances. Ellevest aims to challenge that by having honest conversations about money in a judgment-free environment, which is exactly the vibe of the conversation Lauren has with Ashley Bleckner, an Ellevest Private Wealth Advisor, in this episode! They discuss why women should get a prenup, the great wealth transfer coming our way, and how you can take control of your family’s finances today.

If you liked this episode, please share with someone you know and love. We pride ourselves on offering high quality education to our listeners for free to help each of you get on the same page prior to marriage.

Ellevest is the first and only financial company founded, funded, and built by women, for women. Their goal is to get more money in the hands of women since nothing bad happens when women have more money.

  • Website - Subscribe to the What the Elle newsletter!
  • Social Media - @ellevest

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • Have financial conversations with your partner early and often in your relationship. The more you communicate and make sure your financial goals and values are aligned, the stronger your relationship will be.
  • There is a great wealth transfer coming in the next few years where women will find themselves holding a lot more financial power than they do now. This means women will have a lot more decision-making power with their money, so it’s important that they feel confident with their money.
  • If you’re married and don’t have a prenup, one thing you can do to stay in the driver’s seat of your financial future is to get involved in the investment discussions. Have a login for your family’s 401K and investment accounts and make decisions about your family's investments.

Hindsight is 20/20, so we’re bringing on a divorce attorney to offer us some perspective on how prenups can protect both partners in a marriage! Denise Rappaport Isaacs has over 30 years of experience representing both men and women, helping to resolve unique financial and child issues with integrity and compassion. In this episode, she shares how to negotiate a prenup, protecting your own - and your partner’s - financial future, how to talk about money with your partner, and the one prenup term that almost guarantees you will get divorced.

About Denise

Denise’s clients achieve their objective without excessive litigation with its attendant price tag and attendant high blood pressure. She is experienced in all areas of family law, including complex equitable distribution of marital assets, alimony, child support, paternity, post-judgment modification matters and marital settlement agreements.

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • Every single couple needs to discuss money before they get married. They need to know their partner’s assets and liabilities (including student loans and other debt), and if they’re supporting other children or family members.
  • A prenup where one partner gets everything and the other partner gets nothing is a huge red flag. It’s not right for one person to be left with nothing, especially if they don’t have income or assets going into the marriage.
  • If you’re planning for one person to be a stay-at-home parent, one option is for the stay-at-home parent to receive a “salary” earmarked in an account in their name from the other partner (plus cost of living increases!) that would go to the stay-at-home parent in the event of a divorce.

Our guest today is: Leah Collins. She’s a premarital financial coach who called off her wedding 6 weeks prior to the wedding date due to financial incompatibility. She then decided to launch a business that helps couples who are seeking to get married, determine their financial compatibility and plan for their financial futures.

With half of marriages ending in divorce and finances being the second leading cause of divorce, it is imperative that money discussions are held sooner rather than later. This is why couples are turning to coaches like Leah to help them navigate difficult money discussions. She helps facilitate these conversations, tells couples exactly which topics need to be discussed prior to marriage, and provides them with the tools for success.

Leah also recently paid off $40k of debt, purchased rental property, and increased her credit score to over 800 all within 18 months. She has 16 years of corporate finance experience and holds a BBA and an MBA.

Our guest today is Kaylin Dillon, a CFP out of Kansas operating in all 50 states. Kaylin cares about helping couples uphold their legal agreements in a way that supports their relationship. Whether it's for a divorce or a marriage, couples don't enter into marital agreements lightly but tracking the terms of an agreement into the future (indefinitely) is no easy task. She believes “Couples deserve to have ongoing support in these matters and no one is better positioned from a cost and visibility standpoint than their financial advisor.”

I really enjoyed my conversation with Kaylin. We dive into why upholding legal agreements is so important and how the lack thereof has affected her personally, how to navigate money shame and to seek help if you need it, and why blended families really should consider prenups and estate planning in order to protect the financial outcomes of their families.
