Welcome to Digital Podcaster! In this episode, we discuss one of the biggest challenges that podcasters face: balancing podcasting with other commitments. With busy schedules and responsibilities, it's easy to fall victim to "podfade" and stop producing content. But fear not! We have five keys to help you avoid podfade and keep your podcast thriving.
Key #1: Understand your priorities. Determine what's important to you and make a list of your responsibilities. This will help you create a realistic schedule and allocate time for podcasting.
Key #2: Create a production plan. Set aside time in your calendar for recording, editing, and publishing episodes. Pre-production, production, and post-production are important elements to consider.
Key #3: Use time management techniques. Time boxing is a great way to focus on one task at a time and get more done in a shorter amount of time.
Key #4: Utilize automation tools. Outsource tasks that don't require you to do them and automate certain tasks using tools like Zapier. This will save you time and allow you to focus on making your podcast better.
Key #5: Stay flexible. Unexpected events will disrupt your schedule, so it's important to adapt and rearrange your schedule to fit it all in. Remember, podcasting should be something you enjoy and not something you resent.
Overall, these keys will help you balance podcasting with other commitments and avoid podfade. If you're feeling overwhelmed, revisit this episode and take the time to implement these keys. It's the foundation of podcasting and it works. Tune in to Digital Podcaster for more tips and tricks on podcasting.

Are you creating content for your podcast solely based on what you want to talk about, or are you considering your audience's interests as well? If you want people to listen to and enjoy your show, it's important to find a balance between the two. In this week's episode, I'm breaking down the importance of the two-way street that is podcasting and how you can make sure your audience is finding and enjoying your content. Thank you for listening!

As a new podcaster, it's tempting to spend a lot of time and energy on your first few episodes. However, it's important to remember that your early episodes are likely to have a smaller audience than later ones. Most podcasts see their biggest growth after around 20 episodes. So, how much time and energy should you put into early episodes? The answer may surprise you. Please enjoy this week's episode!

In this episode you’ll learn the right mindset, approach and actions you need to take to build a presence on Twitter. Don't believe the hype: not everyone needs to podcast. In this episode, I'll share why I don't think it's the best idea for everyone to jump on the bandwagon. Despite educating people on how great podcasting is, I don’t believe everyone needs to start a podcast. In this episode, I'll share my thoughts on why podcasting isn't for everyone. Thank you for listening!
As a content creator, it's important to have a strategy for your work. That way, you can ensure that your content is consistent and engaging for your audience. In this podcast episode, I'm sharing my content strategy that I’ve refined over the past 10 years. Or 10 minutes. Or both. Either way…I hope you enjoy this episode!
It can be easy to get stuck in the cycle of starting and stopping multiple ideas. You might have a great idea for a project, but then get distracted by another shiny new idea and abandon the first one. Or you might start working on a project, but then get bogged down by all the details and give up. The perspective shift I'm sharing in today's episode has helped me a lot in terms of both starting and stopping ideas. Hope you enjoy!
In this episode, I'm sharing about the dangers of taking "expert" advice. It's important to be careful of who you're taking advice from and how it relates to you. Not all advice applies to everyone equally. Just because someone has written a book on the subject or is a well-known authority doesn't mean that they know what's best for you. In fact, don't take anything I say here for certain...use your gut and intuition to either agree or disagree :)
What do you do when you want to grow your podcast, you put in the time and energy to make it great...but you're not quite sure where to get more listeners? In this episode I'm speaking with Joanna Carrillo, who is the host of the podcast "Letter To My Ex".
Joanna has been podcasting for about a year now, and her biggest problem has been getting her show off the ground. This is a fun conversation all about how to attract listeners, how to promote your podcast and how to make it stand out on social media. Enjoy!

Ready to grow your content and audience? In this episode, I'm sharing tips for growing your audience with your podcast - or any content. The truth is, nothing is more deflating than feeling like you're talking to yourself. I get it. I've been there. It's tough to keep producing content when it feels like no one is listening. But the good news is, there are things you can do to change that. And what's even better is it should require you to do less. Please listen and enjoy!
I used to be one of those people that tried to do everything themselves. I would spend hours and hours creating content, never realizing how much time it takes to do each step. After finally getting help with certain parts of the process, I realized just how beneficial it can be. If you're feeling overwhelmed and like you can't keep up with everything, then this episode is for you!
Have you ever just been sitting on the couch one day, and the thought pops in your head “I should start a social media news account.” No? Well, up until 90 days ago I would say me too. 90 days ago I started a content experiment and in today’s episode I’m sharing my takeaways of how it started, how it’s going and what I’ve learned. Hope you enjoy!
It's a common thing these days to hear you need to build an "email list." But how do you actually do that? In today's episode, I'm sharing how you can do it effectively no matter what kind of content you create. It's a lot easier than you think, and you don't have to be any kind of expert. Enjoy!
Today is a special behind the scenes look of a podcaster and coaching interview with Redd Kaiman. Redd hosts the podcast Kaimancast. In addition to podcasting, Redd is ultra-creative and is in the process of making a movie amongst other fun projects. Take a listen and enjoy!

Style. Especially clothing style is something I don’t know too much about, to be honest…
I like to be comfortable, I like to look presentable.
But when it comes to giving others advice on how they should dress best…that’s not my area of expertise.
So what did I do? I brought on a style expert to the podcast for this weeks episode!
I’m chatting with Dwayne Williams who is a Fashion and Style Coaching, helping people make powerful 1st impressions.

✅ Using social media as a business tool as an introvert
✅ Dealing with the decline in reach on Instagram
✅ Thoughts on how the Metaverse will play a role in the next couple of years

The journey of a podcaster/content creator/creative is an interesting one…
Before I started Digital Podcaster, I was consuming a lot of content on social media.
I’d go on Instagram and Reddit primarily.
And then around late 2020, early 2021 I started consuming more TikTok.
The TikTok algorithm is unique in that it does a great job at showing you what it thinks you might like.
Well one of the very first accounts I came across was an account called @JoshTerryPlays.
I liked how consistent, repetitive and mind melting his videos were (and still are).
Josh has gathered over 1.2 million followers on TikTok…and honestly, I believe he’s just getting started.
Thanks to the great social media machine I was able to connect with Josh and have him on the podcast this week.
I love all my chats on the podcast, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say this one was a little different…
In a great way.
I’d love to invite you to listen to this podcast with an open mind around creativity, identifying your strengths and how you could start to do more than you ever thought possible.

Are you a Canva user?
Chances are you’ve either used Canva, will use it someday or have seen Canva designs on social media.
Today’s guest on the podcast is Canva Creator + Ambassador Roger Coles.
Disclaimer: This episode is not a sales pitch for Canva.
Roger is an expert at helping people make their graphic designs easier and look better.
This is especially important if you want to be understood by your audience.
As you’ll learn in my conversation with Roger, there is typically a disconnect between what the creator thinks looks great and what the audience responds to.
This conversation goes much deeper than just Canva or creating content and I’m really excited for you to hear it. 🙂

I find the idea of creating content confusing sometimes on social media.
Let’s take Instagram for example, you create content with intention and purpose…
But then it gets no likes.
It’s hard to keep creating content on social media when you’re not sure if you’re doing it right.
On the podcast this week, I’m speaking with Content Strategist Christos Nikas.
Christos breaks down:
✅ What to focus on when creating content for social media.
✅ The differences between posting for fun and posting for business.
✅ How to make content that stands out.
Before speaking with Christos I knew the convo was gonna be good…but honestly I walked away with aha’s that I didn’t expect.

There must be something in the air…
I’ve had quite a few people ask me where to get started with email marketing lately.
I think it’s a mixture of people getting tired of social media algorithms always changing.
Social media timelines will always be a battle for attention. Sure there is a battle in your inbox too…but generally speaking it’s easier for you to find and connect with emails than it is missing posts on social media.
Also, email is more personal.
My guest this week on the podcast is Liz Wilcox.
Liz Wilcox is an email marketing WIZ!
Every email she sends - I open. I save.
She is so good at what she does, I promise you that.
This is the first episode where when I listen back, there are parts where I laugh like I’m 5 years old.
And we’re talking about email marketing!! How does that happen? Liz is why that happens.
Making money with email has never been so fun. I promise.
Please enjoy my conversation with Liz!

One of my favorite things about creating content is the edit button.
I love that I can edit/mix/match/string pieces of content together to get my point across.
One thing that's always stuck out as wild to me is performances like Broadway don't have the ability to edit.
When you're performing, you're in the moment, you're there...there's no real opportunities for do-overs.

Welcome to Digital Podcaster with Dylan Schmidt.
Today I'm talking about lessons I've learned from breaking the same rib multiple times. I'm a jiu jitsu practitioner...for those who don't know what jiu jitsu is, it's a martial art.
About 10 months ago I broke a rib while training, and every few months instead of healing I kept re-injuring myself. Well, I'm back to normal, and I thought I'd share some lessons I've learned in the past year.
These same lessons you can take and apply to your podcast, business, content, really anywhere where you're trying to get to the next level.
Setbacks can be frustrating, especially if you are just starting out. You're trying to get your podcast up and running, but every time you prepare to launch something happens that forces you back into re-doing everything.
It can be very frustrating.
But there is a lesson to be found in the setbacks...and that's what I'm sharing with you today.
Take a listen and enjoy!
