This week on the podcast, we take a break from the 'Giving Our Words' book and talk through what God is teaching us in this season and how we're going to respond to that.
In this episode, we discuss chapters 2-3 of 'Giving Your Words' we dive into what exactly 'living words' means and how they can shape the environment of our home.
In this episode, we discuss the power of words. Specifically, the power of God's Word within us, and therefore the power of God's Word within our kids. This discussion is based off of chapter 1 of Sally and Clay Clarkson's book: 'Giving Your Words.'
Whether we realize it or not, words shape us. In this episode, we discuss how words have shaped us as we process through the content of the Introduction of Sally and Clay Clarkson's book "Giving Your Words."

God doesn't need us, but He uses us. In this episode, we process through being more focused on what God has called us into and eliminating the things that distract us from what we feel God has placed in front of us. Somehow, sourdough works its way in :-). Thanks for listening!
Anyone who's had small children knows that when they 'help' it doesn't always make what you're working on easier or faster. Typically, it's the exact opposite. But, while their help can slow things down, it's critical for their development and for the culture of the family. In this episode, we talk through how we're trying to be intentional in allowing our kids to join us in the work we do as a way to create a long-term family team.
We reference Jeremy Pryor's book "Family Revision" as well as Jefferson Bethke's book "Take Back Your Family."
We do a ton of DIY projects. Honestly, sometimes it might seem like we're getting a bit carried away. While DIY projects could certainly become an idol, in this episode we talk about the importance of home, of creating spaces, and how those spaces can become facilitators for moments of greater meaning and purpose. As believers, we all have things we do that draw our hearts toward God. In this episode, Paul and Maddie discuss what those things are for them and the challenges of making them a consistent part of the day. Oh, and we also talk about irrational confidence...it's going to be great.

Sometimes we get lost in the moment of a difficult situation and allow the fear of the unknown to produce anxiousness and uncertainty. In this episode, Maddie and Paul discuss James 4, the importance of submitting our plans to God, and the critical process of reflecting on what God has done in our lives. Being 'present' is more than being in the room. It's showing up mentally and emotionally and being ready to invest in those God has placed around us. In this episode, we discuss how we are trying to be more present in the moment. And, how we are seeing being present in the moment as an opportunity to be used by God to invest in and shape others by His power. Thanks for listening!

The reality is, God calls all of of us to be a part of His activity. Saying 'yes' to that call, though, can be the difficult. Oftentimes, we have obstacles in the way of obedience that require significant attention and sacrifice. In this episode, we share our story of when finances were our greatest barrier, and how we made drastic changes to become more financially stable and say 'yes' to what God was calling us into.
