This week we have a special guest, a friend and avid community supporter, Rene Amado. With family roots in Texas and Mexico (Reynosa, Tampico, Piedras Negras, Coahuila), tune in to hear his story of growing up in Wisconsin and the personal growth he went through when he moved to San Antonio and was immersed in a more prevalent Mexican/Tejano culture. He shares how going out to local events (usually with camera in hand) has allowed him to develop strong networks in his community and has led to both friendships and partnerships. Photography initially began as a creative release, and eventually a business for Rene. He is currently teaching photography to the youth, leveraging his real-life experiences and encouraging his students to truly tap into their creative side.
