Hi Friends. So, I wasn't going to post this episode today because, well you see my heart is heavy friends. My husband just found out he lost a good comraded and yesterday was a tough go for our household. We keep losing the good ones and the young ones go to soon. You see even though I didn't want to post this episode God was telling me to do it anyways because he knew that someone needed to hear it eventually. What I didn't know is when I recorded this message our dear beloved brother was gone from this world. How fitting for me to be talking about trauma in the same light of not knowing we had lost another good Marine. It never gets easier losing one of our own. We are such a small knit family. No one understands why it hits us so hard, well it does because it's like we lose a family member. It's like we lose our brother or sister. So, in light of it all trauma is the topic for this episode. So, you might want to strap yourself in for the ride because it's going to be a roller-coaster of emotions as I will be giving you my snap shot on Chapter 2 in the book Resilient Warriors by Robert F. Dees where he talks about being body slammed and how trauma truly effects not only the solider, but the families too. Also, in this episode I will be discussing in depth what trauma is and what PTSD is and how it relates to my own experiences of secondary trauma and how myself has become a product of secondary trauma. Pre-warning for any of my family members who may listen you may not like what you hear and well I am okay with that because it's my story to tell and it's real to me. With that said if you are looking for a place to build a community of other supportive military spouses you can head over to our Facebook Community page Bouncing back Spouse Strong Group and join. This is where you can find some great freebies from our Prayer life series and the freebies that will be posted soon with this series. Click the links below. Next episode will be Chapter 3 where I will be giving my snap shot on Bitter or Better chapter and talking about the difference between the two. Join me next week. I will post that next week on Tuesday. See you then and take care.

Hey Friends. So called to be back! We are under construction right now and the change is the in the air, I can feel it. If you wondering what is going on and where this podcast is headed, go check out the Under Construction Episode. I explain everything there my friend. In todays podcast we are talking a little bit about resilience's life cycle and how it pertains to our everyday life. This concept is reference by the book the Resilient Warriors by Robert Dees who is a retired Major General from the U.S. Army. He is a Christian and does put a lot of emphasis in a biblically sense, which is very inspiring and helpful for those who do not understand why horrible happen to good people. Its an amazing read and I have copied the link to the book if you want to go purchase it because this will be the book I will be using in my next few series as I will be going through with my own thoughts and answers to his questions in the back. This will be a book review type of series to help you understand what resilience is and how you can build your resiliency in your own life. In today's bonus I talk about the before, during and after and how we prepare before we go into battle and during battle we treat and take care of ourselves and then afterwards we are able to grieve well. If we are not prepared well to go into a storm, just like if a boat is not prepare to go into sea during one, then we cannot weather the storm well. Now, your probably thinking to yourself "well what if you don't have the skill set to do so?" and I am going to tell you that you can learn the skill set my friend and that is why I am doing this series is to help those learn the skill set of suiting up for them to go into battle because that is what bouncing back is about. The more you do it the better you are at it. If you have any questions or maybe you have a topic you want me to talk about email me at spousestrongmama@gmail.com and don't forget to go to our Facebook Community Group if you haven't already joined Bouncing Back Spouse strong go and check out some of the other free templates in there and we hope to see you in there!

Hey! So glad you are here listening today. In today's episode we are starting off with a 4 episode series about prayer life. Today, I discuss why we worry about not only how we pray, but why we might not pray. This is so good, so you are going to want to listen. I also give you 5 practical steps to help you either get started in praying more or deepening your prayer relationship with God. Also, below are some the scriptures that I mention in today's episode to help you understand what the bible says about prayer and also give you places in the bible where woman of the bible prayed courageously, it will truly give you a boost in understanding of why prayer is so important in our lives. So, without a further a do, here are you scriptures I promised:

Exodus 17: 11-13

1 Samuel 9:1-25

Nehemiah 1:1-11

Jeremiah 29:1-14

Courageous Woman Stories: Judges 5: 1-20 & 1 Samuel 1:10-20 Esther 4:15-16 (Also, I meant to add that Esther asked for prayers for others and so we should always ask others to pray for us. We should all come together and pray for one another)
