Everything good that we have is from God. We have every reason to be thankful, but no reason for pride or boasting.
Whether you are weak or poor or barren or whatever other difficulty you may have in your life, God is God over that situation.
God delights in reversing roles, he delights in bringing down the rich and the proud and lifting up the lowly and the humble.
Human might is not what prevails. God is the one who guards those who are faithful to Him.
Ruth tells a story of God at work often behind the scenes, displaying His kindness to a particular family and from that particular family, displaying His kindness to all of Israel.
Our faith doesn’t come from having all the answers to our doubts and questions. Our faith rests in who God is.
In Jesus Christ we have the object of our faith and the reason for our faith. In Jesus, we see what God is like. In Jesus, we see God’s provision of salvation for His people.
The LORD shows His providential care.
Even in the dark times, God is at work.

In your own life, whenever possible, seek out first-hand experience of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the truths of Scripture.
This gospel is the good news that though each of us have failed to be perfect enough to be friends with God.
We need to confess sin to each other so we can stay humble.
Don’t lie to people to protect yourself from rejection and don’t lie to people to try to get money or glory. Instead, boldly tell people the truth.
You can’t fight fire with fire. You can’t fight sin with sin. Jesus commanded us to abide in him so that we can bear much fruit.
By becoming the friend of God, you become the friend of humanity.
Whether it is with singing or with other everyday activities, God is examining our hearts. And if God is not first in our hearts, our actions are going to show it.
In thinking on God’s name we are thinking on more than just a name. We are thinking on the God who when Moses asked God’s name answered by saying “I AM Who I AM.” We are to consider God’s awesomeness and God’s reputation.
Right worship involves a respectful attitude, a true fear of God.
As Christians our whole lives are meant to be a sacrifice to God.
Do we try to squeeze God into a small corner of our lives and just offer him sacrifices that we don’t want? Is a sacrifice that we don’t want really a sacrifice?
Out of a deep fear of God, we must preach God’s Word, not trying to please people or bring honor to ourselves.
Unlike the religious teachers of Jesus’ day, Jesus spoke with authority, He spoke what is true for He is the very embodiment of truth. Jesus walked with God in peace and uprightness. Jesus turned many away from their sins. He ate with prostitutes and sinners and many repented in response to His message.
Levi’s priesthood ended. Jesus’ priesthood will never end.
Jesus put flesh and bones to this picture of what a true priest should be. Instead of selfishness and greed, Jesus lived in fear of God and gave up Himself for sinners like you and me.
There may be times when human teachers do fail and fall, but Jesus will never fail.
Jesus always sought to honor the name of His Father.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice we have been made holy and we can live holy lives. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice we can offer up our lives as a living sacrifice to God. This is our spiritual act of worship.
An individual can speak in any language as eloquent as he’d like to be. But if it not infused with love, it’s just white noise.
Intelligence minus love equals to ignorance.
Paul is saying it doesn’t matter you even self-sacrifice, if you are doing this in order to make people to see you as holy, instead of loving others, sorry, you still gain nothing.
People who are serving in ministries, we should pray to God that, help us to experience his grace thru serving, help us to love others thru what is assigned to us.
With Jesus our love for others no longer is out of our limitation, no longer out of our own strength, we don’t need to look inward, Instead we look to Christ.
We need to response in repentance, meaning turn away from our sins, and put our trust and faith in Jesus, then our identity is in Christ then we will be adopted into God’s family, as his children and we will inherit a place in the heaven.
We don’t love and care for others to expect personal gain, we won’t able to do right away, slowly but surely thru the power of Holy Spirit will help us to be more Christ like.
We don’t need to boost, we don’t need to impress others, nor we need to envy, at church we don’t need to proof your worth. We know we all are needy people that’s why we need God and each other.
We turn from focus onto myself to focus others, that’s how we grow.
Because we have hope in the future in mind, It should shape our everyday life differently.
The wretchedness of our sin should not be something we minimize.
There is no such thing as an innocent person. All of us are guilty people.
Assurance of Salvation is a good thing, but assurance is never meant to replace thankfulness and wonder that God would save wretched sinners like you and me.
It is good to remember that salvation means that we need someone to save us. It is good to remember that salvation is impossible for us to earn.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we have been given the righteousness of God. Being counted righteous, being justified in God’s sight is a gift, it is not earned. Jesus bought our righteousness with his own blood. In this way, God is righteous in his judgment of us, because Jesus paid the penalty that had to be paid.
Not because we are trying to earn our way into heaven, but because Jesus is slowly changing us to be more righteous like him, we should be living according to our new identity in Christ. We are set free from slavery to our sins.
God chooses to use other brothers and sisters in your life, to encourage you to grow in holiness, to be more like the person you will be in heaven, worshipping God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Paul writes this letter to exhort them as individuals and as a local church to stand firm and persevere in the faith.
Knowing that God is near and He guards us with His peace.
That you WSBC would come away even more motivated to stand firm in the gospel, resting in God's peace no matter what frightening things you face together.
A church that is doing these things together will be a unified church that stands firm in one spirit, striving side by side, which is what Paul wants of them.
The ONLY way we experience true, deep, lasting joy the Bible talks about is by being connected to God, who is the Source of all joy.
When our happiness is rooted in God and all He's done and will do for us in Christ, then there's always reason to rejoice, even when our circumstances go from bad to worse.
God is the only One whose shoulder is broad enough to cry on, and whose chest is big enough to beat on.
Prayer is the main medicine for sinful worry.
It's also the church collectively guarded as God's peace reaches out into our web of relationships, binding us tighter together so you maintain peace and unity as a church.
God promises to give us the grace to endure right when we need it, not before.
That Paul says be anxious for nothing and pray about everything tells us there's no issue big enough to justify our sinful worry, and there's no issue small enough that God doesn't care about it.
And God will fulfill His promise to use your prayers as a means of guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We need to get around people living virtuously so we can learn how to live ourselves, and learn how to set an example for others to follow like Paul did.
So as we rejoice in and pray to and ponder our Lord, may we all stand firm in faith and unity, until we enter into the joy of our Master.
David doesn’t shy away from hard questions and in times of trouble, David doesn’t shy away from God.
If we begin to believe lies about God, if we begin to believe that God does not care, that truly will cause us great pain and sorrow.
And if we have begun to doubt God, we need God to grab us out of our doubt.
When David cries out to God, he is not crying out into empty space. There is a God who is listening.
Our prayers hopefully are becoming more and more concerned with God’s glory and God’s honor among the nations.
As we grow in knowledge of God we also grow in being able to pray “thy will be done” kinds of prayers. As we grow in understanding what is closest to God’s heart, we grow in praying prayers that delight God and honor Him.
So brothers and sisters, boldly bring your requests before God. And pray as well that our prayer lives would be honoring to Him.
And while human love fails at times, God’s love is perfect.
It is in Christ’s death that we have the greatest example of love.
It is in the death of Jesus that we see what he gave up out of love and what the Father did out of love, so that undeserving sinners such as you and me could be on the receiving end of the abounding love of the triune God.
There may come a Sunday when your voice wavers and tears come into your eyes, but even on that day, remember God’s love and remember His salvation. And may tears of grief be mixed with tears of joy.
That repentance is the way to clear the obstacles in one’s heart be prepared to receive the glory of Jesus.
God spoked and promised this hope that we know now is pointing to Jesus, the fulfilment of the gospel. God’s word is not like grass or flower that withers or fades. That God’s word will stand forever. This so we can be secure in God’s word, secure in God’s promises. This is a comforting hope because it is a secured hope.
Knowing we are no longer in exile away from God, no longer enemies of God, that a level path has been made through Jesus to God. God provides comfort by speaking hope through the gospel.
God who is active in bringing about his promises through history. Nothing can come close in comparison to God’s greatness.
God being great in these ways above the heaven and the earth provides comfort. Because the greatness of God is what assures the Israelites and assures us of our hope and the surety of his words.
That God does not faint or grow weary; in another word God is the source of power and strength. Because he is the source of power and strength God can give power and strength to those that wait upon him. God will renew their strength for those that wait for the Lord.
God’s promise is greater than our feelings... This is a comfort to know our hope will renew our strength to last through hardships. This is how God provides comfort by giving strength to those who wait upon him.
Uncertainty is certainly giving us opportunities to grow our faith in God.
It is God who chose us, who regenerated us, who gave us faith and trust in the One Savior, who bore the penalty of sin in our place, and who gave us the Holy Spirit so that we could understand and have the power to follow His Word.
God in Christ saves us first and we live for Christ second.
Christ is a fully obedient, fully covenant-keeping mediator, and we are a covenant-keeping people in Christ.
He is worthy of our trust, he is ever present, and he became a priest and a sacrifice to sanctify the people of God in their place.
Although the relationship has is order of authority, its foundation is sacrificial love.
The best way for us to lead is for us to submit to the will of God and to work on our own godliness.
By living out God’s principle, we are defenders of truth not tradition.
If God created man and woman for different purposes, then as His people we should sustain His intention.
It is not only our appearance, but all aspects of our lives carry the weight of His glory.
We submit to God not for the sake of being saved, but for truly knowing who He is and for His loving kindness to His people.
David’s identity rests in that he is one of the people of God
God by His Spirit can empower you to put away falsehood and speak the truth to your neighbor.
He knows the situation and ultimately, He will judge. He knows the situation and He will protect.
Keep trusting the one who keeps you trusting.
God’s Word will never fail.
To follow Jesus means to publicly proclaim our desire to follow Him, through baptism.
We may believe we have freedoms or rights, but that the preaching and advancement of the Gospel, the ministry of the Church – these things may mane that we need to be prepared and willing to give up our own “rights”.
A unified church, clinging to Christ and loving each other as one body, will not be tempted beyond their ability.
The LORD continues to test the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked.
Jesus has made a way for you to escape the fire and sulphur and scorching wind and see God’s face.
We also are reminded the God is the ruler of all creation, He sits on His kingly throne.
God is the only one who can make right any wrong, any injustices that we encounter.
We must respond to injustices by going to God in prayer.
Our heart and our love for each other let world to see example of Christ’s love.
Worldly love seeks to impress but isolate, biblical love seeks to connect and cultivate.
We shouldn’t seek to be right, we should seek to be righteous.
God’s kingdom is already among you, and you have not recognized it.
Any realm is realm that is ruled by Christ.
Who God is reveals who we are.
God's glory is when his holiness goes public.
Who Christ is reveals our proper response.
You are not lost, you belong to me.
Marriage is momentary, it is over at death, and there is no marriage in the resurrection. Wife and husband are secondary priorities, not the first, Christ is the first.
When we pursue Christ as the center of our lives, everything else will be put into the right perspectives.
God does not call all of us to be married, he calls us to be devoted to Him, to think about how to please Him, to be holy in body and Spirit.
If you are willing to trust what Jesus did on the cross for your sin, then forgiveness and peace with God can be yours.
God is at work even you can’t see it; God himself walks with us in the fire.

God uses the weak things in the world to shame the strong.
We celebrate Christ’s coming to earth and his resurrection every day.

The proper order should be God’s people worshipping God so that God is glorified and people are satisfied.

True justification is through faith in Jesus Christ, not following rules and laws.
Those who repent and believe in Jesus are saved from torment and to paradise with the faithful.
We are free by being content in God's grace.
All earthly conditions are under God's sovereign plan.
He has assigned this circumstance to us with a purpose.
The expectation is that every follower of Jesus, everyone who has been born again, will live a new life of obedience. We still sin, but we’re not characterized by sin.
What he is saying, is that we, as sons of light, should learn how to use our resources as tools.
“Making friends” is not just with people, but it means we’re to use money in ways that pleases God, then as we please him, he will welcome us to be with him for eternity.
Investing faithfulness is a daily, life-long journey in a specific direction: following Jesus.
Christians need to take an active role, not so much changing legislation, but rather with Biblical standards, to serve as our norms for society.
We need to reflect on if something has captured our hearts on any addictions we have, specifically ones that will compromise our freedom to glorify God with our bodies.
Our identity is in Christ and not on how we feel about ourselves or what is comfortable.
Our bodies are to be resurrected as Children of Jesus and to reflect His glory and not to be confused with what is deemed legal or acceptable by the world.
The cost of sin is high, it is a price we cannot afford, in that the price of our lives is His righteousness.
He is a God of grace and compassion - going himself to meet us and bring us into his family.
He opens our eyes to see our depraved position.
He comes to us to make us new, not with a reward or punishment based on our works.
He knows who his people are and he's moving toward them.
There will not be any of God’s people who are left among the lost, left as unbelievers.
God is the one who pursues his people.
When God saves us, he changes us.
Longing for God expresses one's faith, but the absence of God brings the pain of doubt. Faith and doubt, like twin brothers, are inseparable in our faith life.
The groaning of the Holy Spirit is also enlightening, making our foolish hearts wise, making our complicated minds crystal clear, turning our eyes from our circumstance to God himself.
"Rock" usually represents God's salvation in the old testament. Rock is the foundation of a city, salvation is the foundation of one's life.
Jesus replaced the temple as the only way to draw near to God. As long as you are in Christ, God is present.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light.
He says a true disciple must “bear his own cross”.
God has shown us grace, He has given us Christ Jesus. We can confess, we can repent, we can find forgiveness, we can find wholeness.
Dependency on Jesus is also the source of the sustainable power to do good, to resist evil, to fight for justice because we are not depending on ourselves.
Doubts and questions may be where the Psalm begins, but not the Psalm ends.
This is not a happy prayer, this is a prayer with real and raw emotion. But it also ends with hope.
It is a prayer that instructs us today as we consider the wickedness of humanity. It is a prayer in which we are led to move our gaze from the evil around us to the throne of God.
The lowly are lifted up, and the proud are humbled.
While we are still sinners, Christ died for us.
Do what is right not for the purpose of gaining something, but as an end itself.
Christians, as they move into a life of gratitude, must submit and love God as well as submit and love their neighbor both inside and outside the church.
Seek humility instead of hatred, seek forgiveness instead of fairness, seek reconciliation instead of retaliation.
No sin is too big that the Lord cannot wash clean again.
If it is important, you are just not waiting, but everything you do while waiting would contribute to the moment of realization.
The king, the ruler, of all things should be the ruler of our heart.
