Every weekday I’m going to ask Sam, aka Holy Spirit, what He’s saying, and sharing with you any nudges or prompts He has to encourage you deeper into relationship with God. Why? Because if you love Jesus, you have Holy Spirit with you 24/7 and He’s whispering to you all the time, calling you into a tangible, day by day, relationship. Why? Because He loves you, more than you might even comprehend right now, and is inviting you into a new awareness of His love, one whisper at a time.
Dear friend, welcome to the final “Sam Says” podcast episode and love note in this current format. It’s been my absolute joy and privilege to share these love notes for the last 3.5 years and, over 800 love notes later, I’m feeling nudged to change things a little.
I’m still sitting with Sam to hear the specifics of what that’s going to look like but the one piece I do know is it’s going to continue to involve audio, probably weekly rather than daily, at least while we get things established.
(You don’t need to do anything in order to enjoy whatever comes “next”, it’ll be shared here via the blog and direct to your inbox like you’ve been enjoying thus far.)
Thank you so much for journeying with me over these days, weeks, months and years. I’m full of anticipation for what’s next!
With all of that said, here’s today’s love note …
Your legacy isn’t about projects, it’s about people. Legacy is always about people because people are my priority, relationship is what I’m really focussed on. And so your legacy is every person you’ve impacted in both seen and unseen ways.
Yes, there will be specifics to how the peopling will play out but don’t worry about the specifics. I can show the specifics very easily when we keep doing life together like this. When I know that I have your heart and ear, there is nothing to stop me whispering specifics.
But specifics are always centred around people, relationships, and so that is ultimately your legacy: doing life with me, all in, loving and living with joy, being who I created you to be unapologetically, and loving others into a closer relationship with me in the process. Being who I created you to be, in relationship with me - Youier! That is your legacy!

There’s a way through. There’s always a way through - or over or under or round! There is a path already prepared for you and no matter how overgrown it looks to you, trust the process. Trust that you are never traveling alone. Trust that I am with you always.
Sometimes you’ll feel like you’re skipping along very happily, enjoying every moment of the journey, until something catches you off guard and suddenly you feel like you’re falling. Nothing ever catches me off guard and whilst yes, I will sometimes allow you to fall, I’m right there with you. Where would I go? How could I go? You in me and me in you. Where you go, I go, always.
So whether you’re dancing along happily or feeling your way forward, one tenuous step at a time, I am with you and I have prepared a way forward for you. Everything on your heart has a solution and you are a part of the solution!

Awareness is half the battle in this journey you’re on with me. There are things I’m shining light onto today that have been an issue for a long time. I hadn’t yet shown you those things from my perspective and, as a result, there was a grace on them.
Yes, I’m talking about those things you label as “mistakes” and “mis-steps”. All things, every thing is an invitation into deeper relationship. Nothing is worthless or wasted. I have been getting you ready for this moment your whole life!
You don’t need to be afraid of anything I’m inviting you into. Yes, there’s an opportunity to tweak and adjust some things in your life but this is about moving you towards my best for you. I’m not trying to catch you out or make you miserable!
What do you really want from your life? How do you want to move through the world? What kind of an impact would you like to make?
Every adjustment is about moving you closer to the person I created you to be. This is all about growth and maturity. I’m doing this with you and for you - not to you! You have a choice, you always have a choice. Who do you want to be?
“Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it.” Colossians 3:10 MSG

You’re wonderful and brilliant, I’ve given you so many gifts and talents and you cannot do everything today. This is not an invitation to idleness, this is a call to rest. Rest can be active and energising. It fuels you and helps bring clarity to everything you’re working on and towards.
It’s great to have those longer-term goals and plans that we’re exploring together. Without vision, you will wither. And, let me help you action those plans in a way that will life-giving for you and the people you care about.
I repeat … this is not about powering through and checking everything off in one day. Let me be your pacer. I know the very best way to move forward into everything I’ve put on your heart. Everything needs to be anchored in our time together. Without that nourishment, you will lose sight of why any of this is important.
Without nourishment you will grow weary and lose heart. You’ll find yourself trying to carry burdens that were never yours to carry! Do all of this with me. That’s vital! You are where you are today because of every whisper and you hear the whispers in the quiet place. Keep seeking my heart. I am your lifeblood.

When I tell you not to be worried about anything, what do you think I mean? Is it possible that there are exceptions or caveats to that invitation? Maybe there are situations you face in your current modern age that were not an issue two thousand years ago and so they’re not covered? What nonsense!
Everything that concerns you is ultimately about people and I know people, I made people. Every person is made in my image and every hair on every head is accounted for. Do not be worried about any person in your life.
Instead, give them to me. Let me help you love and nurture them in the most appropriate way. And remember that these people you love are loved infinitely more so by me! You think you can love but you’ve not seen anything yet!
Let me pour my love into your loved ones. Trust that you really do not need to worry and instead, love each and every person, me-helping you. I am love and I know exactly what I’m doing.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6+7 NLT

We’ve explored this before but it’s important for you to remember that you can always hear me. Those little nudges that lead to incredible conversations are from me. It really doesn’t need to feel complicated or confusing to hear me!
And no, you don’t need to announce, ‘thus said the Lord’ every time you follow a nudge. Let me help you share my heart in ways that can be received by others. I love the world, I want to woo everyone into relationship, and I am playing the long game. You don’t need to crowbar mention of me into every conversation.
Instead, follow the nudges, allow me to move and show up in ways far beyond your imagination - and then tell the stories of my goodness. Allow us to journey together, trusting the process, and when anyone asks you about the source of your joy, then you have the opportunity to share my love and goodness in a deeper way.
Light every moment of your day with my love and you’ll never grow weary and lose heart. Moving and living and navigating your day through the lens of my love brings lightness and joy to your soul in a way that nothing else can. Live in my love!

You set yourself incredibly high standards and whilst this is to your credit, you have got to be kind to yourself! You expect things from yourself that you would never expect of other people so give yourself the same grace you extend to the people around you.
One of the joys of doing life in community is the impact you can make on others - and the impact they make on you. One of the challenges of doing life in community is that you get to make mistakes out loud, in public, in real-time! Transparency and vulnerability can only be earned by modelling it to others. If you refuse to let people in, how can you possibly expect to see it returned to you?
This is not about washing dirty laundry in public. This is about nurturing a safe space. Safe for the people around you and safe for you too. You don’t have to be perfect so stop trying so hard!

Journal prompt: In what specific areas of my life do I need to extend myself grace?

Never underestimate or forget the impact of love and kindness on someone’s day. You are the only bible some people will ever read. Your words carry weight. Your kindness softens hearts. Every act of love helps usher in the Kingdom.
You don’t see all of the ripples but all of it makes a difference in ways far beyond your imagination. You shift atmospheres and break strongholds with your love. Reject any whisper that suggests your actions don’t matter. Everything makes a difference.
And that’s why it’s so important for us to have this time together. Time together allows us to deal with any heart issues before they start to impact how you show up in the day. Bring every pain and frustration to me and allow me to soothe and calm you. This isn’t about playing pretend when you have legitimate worries and concerns. This is about bringing everyone into the light of my love. Light is the only way to dispel darkness!

Journal prompt: Is there anything on my heart right now that I’ve been refusing to explore with you?

I love doing life with you! When you intentionally make space in your day to hear my heart and share your problems with me, I move in unparalleled ways! This time together is so important, so vital. I am like oxygen. You can hold your breath for a moment but if you don’t breathe deeply you will find yourself withering and depleted. I don’t want that for you!
Remember all of the ideas and solutions we’ve explored together during these moments. Consider these ideas, remember them, when you find yourself tempted to rush into your day. Hearing my heart is not a chore to check off. It is vital to your day!
Never forget how we got here. Without us intentionally doing life together, you would not be where you are today. Everything you’re enjoying today links back to conversation with me, us doing life together. And that’s not because I refuse to speak unless you be still, I’m always speaking! But without the intentionality, you simply cannot hear me clearly.
Yes, you hear the nudges when you’re moving through your day but we need these quiet moments together too. Guard our time. Treat it as the precious treasure it really is. I love doing life with you, you make me smile, and I never want us to stop!

Do you believe that I have already prepared a solution for every problem currently on your mind? You say that you do, but your actions and your thoughts sometimes suggest otherwise. I have gone ahead of you and prepared the way. There is nothing on your mind that is outside of the remit of my care and attention and I am moving and working in all things, including these problems, for good.
Your problems only seem like problems because you don’t yet know the answer, so I’m inviting you instead to think of each and every problem as an opportunity. Each problem is an opportunity to trust me, an opportunity to see me move in an incredible way, an opportunity for you to be reminded of just how brilliant I really am.
Yes, you are being invited to partner with the one more brilliant than you can possibly comprehend and guess what? That makes you unstoppable when you embrace each and every opportunity!

I have given you the ability to see and execute unusual or unseen solutions. You believe the impossible, nothing is a no forever with you, which is why together we will find a solution to every obstacle. You want to achieve the things that others say are impossible but you’re not doing it alone. Get ready to take the people around you on an exhilarating journey!
You were created for this moment. On purpose and for a purpose. I knew exactly what I was doing when I was created you. Let me help you flourish and thrive as you move into this next season with me.
Navigating new opportunities is always challenging, especially when there is so much to learn, but never forget why you are here. What does it look like for you to be who I created you to be in every environment? How can you impact and influence the atmosphere with my love and joy? Remember, you do not have to work hard at this. Simply be who I created you to be with me and the rest will take care of itself!

You are going to have seasons when things feel much busier and more intense than you might previously have experienced. When that happens, “when” not “if”, it’s going to be even more important for you to guard the precious, vital, life-giving parts of your day.
Don’t allow the busy to pull you away from a life lived with me. That would not be my best for you. Doing life with me is how you got to where you are today so guard our time. If you try and do this without me, you will feel depleted, drained and burned out.
I love you so much and I love everything we do together. That’s why we’re exploring this now before things get critical. If you let us keep doing life together life this, you can totally sidestep “critical”. I do not want you to have to learn the hard way!
Keep doing life with me and let me love you. Live and move and operate from my love. That’s my best for you.

The things that are on your heart are there because they’re on my heart. I choose to act and move through you so you shouldn’t be surprised to see your desires and my desires lining up. Instead, recognise that I have given you everything you need for this moment and allow me to move in your life.
You can do everything I had in mind for you when I saw you and knew you before creating the world. Yes, I saw and knew this moment. I knew we’d be having this conversation and I prepared a way to make all things possible.
How? Move with me and allow me to move in your life. Stop trying so hard. You’re not here to manufacture the outcome. You simply need to keep doing what you’ve been doing thus far - hear and act on the nudges. There’s always room to grow yes, but don’t change or remove the thing that got you to this moment - conversation and moving with me.

There are so many people you’ve met because of what you’ve been doing. You have impacted so many lives and been impacted yourself because of the journey you’ve been on. You wouldn’t be where you are today if not for the last few years.
Everything you’ve experienced, all of it fits together and helps with whatever tomorrow may bring. Nothing is wasted. I really have been getting you ready.
And yes, what comes next may look different to what you expected but you know in part and see only in part. If I’d shown you a picture of tomorrow and laid everything out for you, you would never have believed it to be possible.
In truth, I couldn’t have shown you tomorrow because you wouldn’t have heard me. We are in relationship the way we are today because of the journey so don’t despise the journey, embrace it. Thank me for it because the path you’ve travelled has made you who you are today. You couldn’t have everything that is to come without it.

I love to explore your questions with you and there are some questions that you don’t need the answers to right now. Yes, it’s good to have ideas and dreams, a vision for the future, but what am I doing right now? I am in this moment. This moment is all there is so move with me in this moment. Ask me what I’m inviting you to put your hand to in the here and now.
Move with me in this moment and trust that I have gone ahead of you to prepare a path for all that is to come, even when you don’t know what that looks like.
Trust me in this moment and believe that what I put inside of you is not only enough but is exactly what is needed. You are not an accident and those things you get excited about are there for a reason. They are part of the gift that is you to give to the world. What might it look like to open the gift with me today?

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Bring me all the things that are on your heart, the people and the situations, and know that every person you love is loved by me even more. You don’t know how that can be possible because there are some people who you hold incredibly close to your heart but they’re even closer to my heart. And better still … I can move in the lives of the people you love, working all things to good even when you can’t see a way. You don’t need to know how. You simply need to keep on loving.
And you don’t need to hold onto all of the moving pieces quite so tightly. Your tight grip gives you the illusion of control but you’re not in control and there are some hurts you can’t save your loved ones from. There are some journeys that can only be walked by another and no matter how much you might like to walk a path for them, that is impossible and futile.
Instead, let me love you and them, and when you don’t know what that looks like, when you don’t know how best to love, let me help you. For some people in your life, those people who don’t yet let me love them directly, they are loved by me through you. That’s your real role in those situations that you can’t control and don’t understand. Keep loving. Keep showing up. Keep encouraging.
And know that there is coming a day when they will let me love them directly. They will look back with wonder at all of the ways I’ve been moving and together you will celebrate. Together you will enter into everything I have for you and what a day that will be!
Until then, refuse to worry. Bring everything that’s on your heart and lay it before me. Trust that I know what I’m doing and let me help you keep your love on.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Sometimes you simply need to remember to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I don’t need you to be perfect, I simply need you to be. Will I invite you to grow? Of course! But I don’t require you to grow before I’ll do life with you. I do life with you and you can grow. The doing life together piece has got to come first, always.
And I am far more interested in your day to day journey through life that you realise. Why do you suppose I chose to take up residence inside of you? It’s not so that I can more easily explore with you those times you get it wrong, although yes I will do that – but always with love, never condemnation. I chose to do life this way, you in me and me in you, so that we can do life, all of life, together.
You delight me! From the funny little things that you are geeky about to the big things that make your heart come alive, all of you is fascinating to me and there is no moment in today when I switch off or tune out.
Hear me … you are never too much for me. There is nothing about you that is tedious or uninteresting to me. I saw you and knew you before I laid the foundations of the world and I declared you to be very good. My declaration has not changed!
Embrace how I see you. Allow yourself to stand tall and move into everything I created you to be and see and experience with me. Moment by moment, day by day, we are moving together more deeply into this relationship. And it happens simply by putting one foot in front of the other.

Step out again into this new year. Step out again and lead well. Step out again as you share the things I nudge you to share. Your boldness is legendary! And your courage to keep going and not give up? I love it!
I have said it and it shall be so. That’s enough for you and that is faith. I love your faith and I honour it. All my promises really are yes and amen! You are fruitful and I’m removing pieces, pruning you, so that you will be even more fruitful. Those times of pruning and cleaning are to be celebrated!
Keep moving with me as you have already been doing. Press in. Don’t lose heart. Let me strengthen you. And just watch for how these things will unfold. I’m about to blow your mind!
And not just your mind. You carry keys for freedom and breakthrough for other people. Instead of smashing down doors, wasting precious energy and resources, it’s time to use the keys I have given you to unlock doors and help people step into my very best for them.
Let me show you what the keys you carry look like. Explore them with me. And don’t settle with my first answer. Dig deeper. Ask questions. Take me at my word yes and understand that there are layers to this. My first answer will open up conversation and lead to a better understanding.
As we explore these keys together, you have the opportunity to both strengthen our relationship and wield the keys well. Who better to get instruction from than the one who gave you the keys in the first place? You can trust that I know what I’m doing!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
My child and my friend, you do hear from me. I am speaking to you, always. And yes, sometimes I will repeat myself. It seems to me that you could benefit from a reminder of my love, my goodness and my provision.
When you hear something from me that you’ve heard before, rather than questioning if you really do hear me, what if you instead asked me who the reminder is for? Is it possible that I share things with you that are not just for you? Could it be that I bless you so that you can be a blessing, an encouragement, for others?
Not every word is to be broadcast from the hilltops of course but you’re also not meant to be mean or stingy with what I give you! I love to communicate with all my children and yes there are some dear ones who don’t yet realise just how easy it is for them to do life with me. As such, they need you to share my wisdom. No-one “needs” a middleman between them and me but it’s sometimes simply what people want and I can work with that.
We’re moving into a season of increased revelation. I have so much more I want to share with you and it’s important to be intentional. Ask me who a message is for. Explore the timing with me. Allow me to share both my revelation and my wisdom.
We’ve explored this already but timing is crucial. A premature word is easy to reject or, worse, easy to act on too soon. As always, the easiest way to be sure you’re moving in step with me is to move with me. Trust that I know what I’m doing. Leave the outcome with me. Step by step, together.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
I am inviting you to believe again. Lift up your head and have hope. Feel my hands lifting your hands as you move forward with the very next action. Nothing is impossible for me and I have not changed my mind. Yes, I am strengthening you today and I’m inviting you to relish and embrace the process.
Reject the lie that these are empty, repetitive words. No word of mine is wasted. Nothing returns to me void. Every word I have spoken shall come to pass at just the right time.
Timing is crucial. Yes, a baby born prematurely can be nurtured, given special care to help it thrive, but this is less than ideal and reserved for extreme circumstances. The same is true for you and my promises. Why invest time and energy on rescuing a premature promise when you could instead allow it to incubate and come to term?
And just like the mother carrying the child who feels a sense of restlessness as her time approaches, you feel the anticipation of new life, new adventures. They are almost ready to be brought into the world and you feel it but be patient. Believe in me and my perfect timing. Trust that I know what I’m doing.
And while you’re waiting, serve. Like the nesting mother preparing her home, so too can you move as I nudge you. Loving others, living life joyfully out loud, anticipating the next season but not allowing the anticipation to paralyse you. This is all service.
But even the elephant’s time must come. Nothing can remain in the womb indefinitely. Have hope. Your time is almost upon you and I am strengthening you, readying you, for what is to come next. Birth pangs? Discomfort? Even pain? Yes – but only for a moment. And afterwards, at just the right time, the joy of new life!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
I am good and I am love. Don’t lose sight of that. You’ve believed the lie that I have hoops for you to jump through in order to receive my best. That simply is not true! You, as a good but sometimes flawed human parent, wouldn’t do that so why do you believe the lie that I would?
Don’t bargain with me. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? You wouldn’t think of doing such a thing! You’re at least decent to your own children so don’t you think the One who conceived you in love will be even better?
I am the parent, the ultimate and best, even better than you know. Hold onto that picture of me. Explore that picture of me and when you hear or read something that seems to contradict the picture I’ve given you, ask me to show you what’s really going on.
Not every representation of me is accurate. I’ve allowed my dear ones to tell my story and, as such, they’ve not always got it right. Yes, this is frustrating to me but not ultimately because I know how the whole story plays out. You think it’s irresponsible of me to allow false pictures and understandings of me to circulate but there is much learning and growing to be had in exploring the truth.
I am playing the long game and I am perfectly content to keep loving on you even as you wrestle with who I am to you. Yes, I’m that confident in my goodness and love. No matter what others would try and tell you, love wins and I am love.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Revelation and rest are both so important in the year ahead. Keep following the nudges and intentionally sit with me, hear my heart. Both rest and revelation work together to bring restitution. Those promises you’ve heard from me that are done from my perspective? You will see these promises realised in rest and revelation.
There are things for you to share, yes, and I know you feel a sense of urgency. I understand that. Keep pressing in. Our time together is so important, so precious. Don’t skip this time or try and rush through it. Allow us to have this because all my promises are yes and amen!
Rest and revelation are the fuel and it’s impossible for you to hear revelation from me if you don’t engage with me. Reject the lie that time spent with me when you could be busy doing other things is a waste or lazy. Hear me again … our time is so precious and it fuels you.
There is much that will come out of your mouth this year that will seem like madness or foolishness to others. And not just outside the church but inside the church too. Not everyone will understand you and that’s why it is so important to seek your validation and your steps from me.
Keep pressing in. Hear me and share what you hear – but don’t pay attention to or believe your own press! You are here to simply be you. Don’t waste time or energy on justifying yourself. It will not be of value.
Instead, simply keep pressing forward with me. With me is the single, most important and powerful truth I can give you right now. If you simply keep doing this with me, following the nudges, the invitations, you will not and cannot go wrong!

Stop trying so hard to please me. You please me, without exception, and nothing you do or don’t do will ever change that. I love you so much. You are my beloved and I delight over you.
Yes, I could stop right there because there is nothing to add, no exception or caveat to include. I love you because I love you because I love you, so stop trying so hard, stop striving!
I am love and I love well. I don’t play games with my love and you don’t have to show up a in certain way in order to retain my love. That’s not true love. That’s not my love. That’s a pale imitation of love and it’s not of me.
You delight me dear one, never forget that truth. Any whisper to the contrary or any attempt to put a limit on my love is heresy! Yes, there are people who say they love me who, in their attempt to remain true to all that I am, are in danger of massively mis-representing me.
Let me open all of your senses again to a fresh, pure experience of my love. Your feelings are not everything of course, I love you even when you don’t feel loved, but your thoughts dictate your feelings and your feelings dictate your actions. As I open your senses and elevate your thoughts to my thoughts, your feelings and actions will follow suit.
This is why I take great delight in reminding you just how loved by me you are. My reminders of love invade your thoughts, taking every thought captive and making each obedient to my love as expressed through Jesus. As you think on my love for you, your feelings and your ability to show up with love for others increases.
As you let me love you, as your capacity for my love increases, so too does your ability to love others well. As you love others well, they are equipped to love well too. And so on and so forth. It’s like a glorious love cycle. Love really does make the world go round!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
I never stop speaking to you. I’ve been whispering my love to you, wooing you into relationship, since before you were born. Your not knowing me yet couldn’t stop me from loving you either. I have always been seeking relationship with you. Always.
And those people you love who don’t yet let me love them? I’m speaking to them too. What we have is different of course because we have a two way relationship. Back and forth conversation, asking and being asked, that’s how you build a real relationship but in the meantime, I’m still sharing my love with them.
Sometimes they need you to love them on my behalf because they can receive love from you in a way they won’t yet receive from me. Let yourself be filled to the top with my love so you never run dry and feel spent.
And keep seeking my heart. The more you know who you are in me, the more you understand how I see you. The more you understand how I see you, the greater your capacity to love as I love. The greater your capacity to love as I love, the more you can impact the world around you in positive, life-bringing, Kingdom-building ways. The more you impact the world around you in positive, life-bringing, Kingdom-building ways, the sooner King Jesus can return and take his throne!
This isn’t about being so future-focussed that you check out. You have a role to play, a plan and a purpose for your here and now. And it’s important to remember that this life is not all there is. You’re making ripples into eternity with every step you take today. Take each step with me and those ripples are magnified beyond your imagination!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
I want to be known by you. It brings me great joy when you seek my heart. When you explore my word in an attempt to understand me more, I am delighted. There are many mysteries of course but I’m not far from you and I don’t step away, forcing you into a game of hide and seek.
But you’ve noticed that I seem to offer contradictions and this confuses you. How can laughter be good medicine and sadness good for the heart? How can I say that I will always hate someone and refuse to never stop loving them? How can I command against murder and call David a man after my own heart?
It all comes back to how I am known by you. Who am I to you? Who do you say I am? The filter through which you explore life impacts what you’ll see and this is as true for your Creator as it is for the pencil on your desk.
The difference between me and an inanimate pencil is I am alive and loving and reaching out to you to be known. I want you to know my heart. I want to walk in relationship with you. I want to share all things with you.
And as you begin to understand my heart towards you, the contradictions and confusion become unimportant. You find yourself content to rest in my love. Some might call this blind faith but I call it loving faith. You have faith based on who I am to you, faith anchored in love. It’s not blind faith. It’s faith based on relationship.
And that’s why I love it when you seek my heart. Being known for who I am is such a joy! Thank you for journeying with me. Would you like to know more of me? Ask me!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Let joy be your continual feast, make your life a prayer, and in the midst of everything, be always giving thanks. How? Me-helping you of course!
Yes, we’re going there again because you’re still trying to willpower your way through some areas of your life. I know you don’t think you are but it’s impossible to see your own blind spots so that’s why we’re having this conversation today.
I don’t need you try and be strong for my sake. Many things are upside down in the Kingdom. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Jesus the Master came to be a servant. When you’re weak, you’re strong.
What this really means is that when you rely upon me, lean on me, co-labour with me, allow us to move and grow and explore together; when you stop trying to have everything figured out and instead allow yourself to always be in a position of a learner, then you are at your strongest!
I am the vine, you are the branches, remember? When you try and separate yourself from me you can do nothing. Worse than nothing, away from me you lose the vital life force that comes from being connected to the life force. Away from me you will shrivel up and die!
I know that sounds dramatic but this is how seriously I take remaining in me. Your life is to be one of joy, love and thanksgiving, but apart from me this is impossible. You’ll manage a vain imitation for a time and you might fool a few people but I am never fooled.
But remaining in me is simple and easy. I don’t lay rules and regulations on you. There are no hoops to jump through. It’s simply about doing life together, one moment at a time. That’s how you remain in me. Simple and easy.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Pause in this moment and allow me to show you the things that are on my heart concerning you. I see so much potential in you. There is the you I created you to be, full of anticipation and excitement for what lies ahead. You really are a wonder and a delight to me. Pause in this moment and let me lavish you with my love. There is nothing that you can’t do when you follow my lead and allow us to move together.
Hear my heart … this is not an invitation to do everything. You’re not a machine! This is not about powering through, trying to be superhuman. You are a super human of course, you are very good, but you will have success beyond anything you can possibly imagine in those areas of my best for you, when you move with me.
Moving into my very best for you is going to mean letting go of other things that are good. Good is the enemy of best. You could live a whole lifetime aiming for “good”, never stepping into my very best for you, and that would be a tragedy!
Pause in this moment and let us explore my best for you. Ask me if there are any “good” things that I’m inviting you to move away from. Yes, I know this feels uncomfortable but this is not about making you miserable!
This is about guiding you into my very best. You’re so capable, if we don’t pause and explore together you’ll all too easily move down a path that is good instead of great. I don’t want that to be your reality. I love you too much to let you do that. So ask me, trusting that I will make up any difference, always.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
My thoughts are different to yours. Unusual, yes. Often unexpected and counter-cultural. I am able to consider situations in a way that you never could and I want to share with you in the pondering. I love to share my heart with you, explore with you what’s on my mind.
Even as we explore all of the things together, know this … it is inevitable that every word I speak will be fulfilled at just the right time. And I want to partner with you in the fulfilment of my promises. Yes, I could do it alone but I am love. I am community. Together is a part of who I am.
As you co-labour with me in this adventure, you’re going to walk into situations where it feels like my words cannot possibly come to pass. Your feelings are a guide but they do not get the final say. No matter how you feel, all my promises are yes and amen!
You’re wondering about those occasions where it appears that I have changed my mind? This is one of those occasions where I invite you to trust me. I know it’s confusing to when you hear a word from me and it doesn’t come to pass in the way it was described to you. You doubt yourself and wonder if you ever really heard from me.
Are you able to simply trust that yes, you do hear from me and sometimes things unfold differently because of circumstances you can’t know and see? I recognise that that’s a lot to ask of you but never forget that we don’t need to have just one conversation about things.
If something is on your heart, if there’s a promise from me that you’re clinging to, keep exploring it with me. Keep asking questions. And keep following my lead. Expect the unexpected and know that you do so from a position of unconditional love and care.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
It is finished! The enemy is defeated! Stop looking to the media for the score. The battle has already been won! If you want to focus on any score, keep score of how many times today you choose love instead of fear.
It is a choice and one that gets easier with practice. You’re not ruled by your emotions. You’re free to notice them and then, me-helping you, move on with the rest of your day, loving as you go.
I know I make that sound very simple but I’m here to help you so it really is simple. Simple and yes, even easy if you allow yourself to be guided by me. I know you hear this from me a lot but it really is vital. When you move with me, you’re living your best life, no exceptions!
You focus on all the things you haven’t done yet or all the areas where you don’t measure up without realising just how powerful you are. If you really knew the power you have, yes through me but delegated power is still power! And if you knew how powerful you are, you wouldn’t allow yourself to get intimidated so easily.
Let me show you the areas of your life where I’m inviting you to move with power and authority today. Yes, there are seasons of waiting but not every season is a waiting season. Sometimes it’s time to move! How will you know if you don’t ask me?
So ask me what season you’re in. Ask me what power and authority look like within the context of that season. Ask, always expecting an answer, and then let me help you move in accordance with what you hear. One step at a time, together.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
As you move with me, as you let the reality of my love take up residence in your life, as you love others, your capacity for joy will increase. You were created for a life of joy. A joy built on loving me and loving others. It is your natural, at rest, state. Yes, you live in a world that is not yet perfect but that doesn’t change your original design. Your DNA hasn’t changed. You’re still mine!
Those times when you find yourself moving from a different place, a different that isn’t joy filled, take that as your cue to check in with me. Let me help you love in all circumstances. It won’t always be easy for you but it’s my best for you and you don’t have to try and do it on your own. With me, remember. Follow my lead. Watch how I move.
And lighten up! Since when did love and joy get so serious? You should be the most vibrant, peace-filled, happy person you know. When people look to you, do they see me? I am holy yes but I am also love, joy and peace. Let the corners of your mouth lift up once in a while. It’ll do you good and be a better representation of me!
This is not about being frivolous or disrespectful. I am powerful and mighty, respect your Dad, but you can have fun with me. I don’t want you to be afraid of me. I want you to let me love you and it’s hard for you to do that if you’re worrying about saying the wrong thing.
Hear me again on this … there is nothing you can do, say, think or read that will ever stop me from loving you. Be certain of my love for you and let that love empower you to a life of joy. It’s what you were born for!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
One of the beautiful benefits of flowing with me through day to day life is I can and will grow in you to produce fruit. Fruit that will last. Fruit that you don’t have to strive for. Fruit that is a natural consequence of your life in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. It’s a promise. I cannot lie so you can take me at my word and if you remain in me, expect fruit! Yes, all sorts of different fruit. I am incredibly creative and I love to give you good gifts. Don’t put a limit on the fruit that will show up in your life when you remain in me.
For today though, the fruit I want to grow in you is patience. Don’t roll your eyes. Yes, I see you and yes, I’m smiling too. Everything is for your good, remember, and you don’t need to strive for anything, even patience. You simply need to keep doing what you’re doing, putting one foot in front of the other with me. As you do, you will grow in patience. It is a natural consequence of remaining in me.
You think you don’t like patience but it is a beautiful gift. Patience helps you show up with love when it seems like the people around you aren’t making any progress at all. You’re not the one to measure progress of course, outcomes are on me, but allowing the fruit of patience to ripen is delightful.
Patience allows you to embrace the joy in each moment instead of pushing to rush to what’s next. You miss so much glory, awe and wonder in a day when you run at full speed. Be patient. Slow down. See the delightful right under your nose!

Look up, I’m inviting you to hope again! For every season of disappointment, I’m bringing you a fresh anointing of my healing balm of hope. This is not wishful thinking, crossing your fingers and hoping. This is hope that only I can give you. Certain hope. A hope based on the evidence of Jesus. Hope based on all the promises that are done from my perspective. You’re here to walk a path that I’ve prepared in advance for you. That’s the hope you have.
This is not about burying your head in the sand and denying the reality around you. This is about seeing from a new perspective, a new reality, and sharing that perspective with others. Share from Whom you have hope. When all around you are losing their heads, speak the name of the One who quiets the storm and brings sight to the blind.
Miracles, signs and wonders are yours to carry as you navigate this path with me. Jesus set the bar and he expects you to leap over it! Not because you’re so wonderful (although you are!) but because of Who you travel with.
As you partner with me to bring hope to a hurting world, you can expect the miraculous. Call on my name. Make a withdrawal based on who I am to you. It is not presumptuous to do so. It is what Jesus said you would do!
Follow my lead and you will not go wrong. Allow me to lead and guide you and you’ll be living slap bang in the centre of my best for you – and the world around you will sit up and notice. This is not the season for skulking around in the shadows. I’m calling you forward. Have hope my beloved. This day is not over!

Keep your eyes on Jesus. He did and said only what He saw and heard from me and I’m inviting you to do the same. And that’s not to say that you can’t engage your mind but I want your mind to be transformed, made whole and healthy in me. As you allow me to renew your mind, you’ll find the conversations around you will be refreshed and renewed too. As you are transformed, you’ll bring transformation to others. That’s how good I am!
Don’t worry about how what you say and do is being received. Simply keep moving with me, allowing me to guide you, and leave the outcome, the how and the when, with me. But know that you are making an impact. Lives are being regenerated every time you choose to show up in my love.
I love my son, he is so precious to me, and as much as he is loved, as close as we move in relationship, that’s what I want for you and me too. That’s why Jesus came. He is the ultimate care package, sent to a world before it even knew it needed rescuing.
We planned the entire thing from start to finish before we created a single star. Yes, that efficient and thoughtful. Don’t ever believe the lie that I am slow and don’t think that this world is out of control, don’t you dare!
I am playing the long game because of all humanity, every single one of the billions and billions ever conceived, is important to me and has a place in the age to come. Don’t mistake love for slowness or negligence!
Simply keep moving with me. Follow my lead and embrace everything I’m doing. That’s how you live a life of consequence. Consequence for this age and the age to come.

As you step into this brand new season, it’s time to embrace your identity. Who are you? Whose are you? Why are you here? What is the invitation in today? Your ability to recognise and claim your identity as my precious child, a child of the King, beloved of the One who set the sun and moon into place, is vital!
The King’s children have access and special privileges not afforded to others. The King’s children stand tall, shoulders back, knowing that their Dad has their back and will not let them down. The King’s children are already victorious!
Is this your reality? Yes! You are a new creation. The old is gone, the new is here. It’s time to claim your royal inheritance, your identity, your royal robes. Stop picking around in the dirt looking for scraps! Stop looking for yesterday’s identity, yesterday’s wardrobe. It does not befit you!
And ask me to open your eyes, all your senses, so you can see the gold in those around you. Let me show you royalty in the person in front of you. Ask me to help you call other people into their identity.
The King’s children don’t need to squabble over who has the biggest gem or the best robe. There is an unlimited supply of goodness for all of my children so don’t hesitate to call others up and into my presence. You don’t be afraid to celebrate others. Your celebration is beautiful!
See the smile on my face as you rise together. I love it when my kids play together nicely, encouraging each other forward. It warms my heart and makes me glad. You warm my heart and make me glad!

There is nothing that can separate you from my love – and that includes nothing from your past, your present, or your future. That includes the people around you, the works of the enemy, and the choices you make. It is impossible for you to escape my love!
If I am for you, who can come against you? Remember that the next time you feel uncertain or afraid. This doesn’t make you immune from challenges, living in the current age won’t always be easy for you, but know that it is finished! Every victory is already won!
I’m inviting you to have a longer range view of history. Yes, you feel like you travel through life the long way round. It took so long to get to where you are today, it feels to you like it will always go on the same but this is not my reality or my perspective.
What if I helped you embrace today from the perceptive of heaven? Can you imagine how your understanding of today might shift if you saw it set within the context of all of time? This life, this current age, this world as you know it, is not all there is. Embrace the joy in today, flowing with me, following the nudges and understand that today ripples into eternity.
If this age had no consequence, why not end it one thousand years ago? I am not wasteful and nothing is accidental. Everything makes a difference. Everything is significant. Every moment is a gift!
You don’t understand how each moment links with another to form a beautiful, rich tapestry so instead I’m asking you to simply trust the Creator, the one who sees all things. Trust that I know what I’m doing and when you see this moment set within the context of the whole picture, you are going to be delighted!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
When you’re feeling uncertain, there’s no reason why you can’t talk to me about it. I can take your uncertainty and soak it in my truth. My truth and my love, both are vital when you’re feeling uncertain. If you refuse to talk to me about what’s going on, if you insist upon trying to figure it out all on your own, you’re going to remain stuck for longer than you really need to.
What if you looked at uncertainty as a gift? Where does uncertainty come from? A lack of understanding about next steps? Focussing too much on the reality of what’s in front of you? Doubting who I am? These things are all a gift when they draw you back to me and allow us to go deeper.
Your mind wants to try and condemn you but I never condemn you. Let me say it another way … condemnation is not of me. What you do with anything that is not of me? Yes, ask me for my truth! Taking what the enemy meant for evil and turning it to good by drawing us into conversation, that’s the real gift in uncertainty.
You can stop running from the uncomfortable feelings. I created you with a broad range of emotions and you don’t need to be anxious about expressing yourself, all of yourself, all your emotions.
Yes, you can be selective about who you share your emotions with but you don’t have to be selective with me. I am very capable of hearing and feeling and sitting in all your emotions with you.
Consider this an invitation to start sharing every thought and feeling with me. It’s yet another way that we can build a strong, healthy relationship. Yes, even the emotions you try to run away from allow us to grow together. They really are a gift!

Faith is the currency of heaven and it takes only the smallest drop to move a mountain. That’s how powerful faith is! But I don’t want you to stop at only moving mountains. Faith is a gift and I’m inviting you to expand your capacity for more. More faith. More miracles. More power from heaven. This is not greedy. I am delighted when you eagerly desire more from me.
Without faith it is impossible to please me. Why? Because anyone who wants to approach me must believe both that I exist and that I care enough to respond to those who seek me.
The fundamental fact of existence is that trusting in me, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s your handle on what you can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished your ancestors, set them above the crowd.
It’s time for you to take your seat above the crowd as one who has great faith. Yes, I want to make an example of you – in the very best way possible! What promises do you have faith for? What are you believing and waiting and trusting me for? It’s time to flex your faith muscles!
Explore with me again all the promises I have for you and ask me where I’m inviting you to have bigger faith for a miracle. Yes, it’s going to feel uncomfortable. Increasing the amount you lift will always have that impact. But just because it feels stretching doesn’t make it wrong or out of alignment with my best.
What if my best for you is stretching? Stretching you out of your comfort zone and into your promised land? It’s going to take faith and persistence and knowing that you are loved but I have called you and equipped you for such a time as this. It’s time to stretch!

Do you believe that there is a plan and a purpose for your life? Do you believe me when I share with you the promises that are done from my perspective? Do you believe me, take me at my word, when I invite you to share my faith for impossible situations?
Or do you find it easier to focus on how insignificant you feel? Do you prefer to look at all the things you haven’t done yet? The promises that are still unfulfilled?
Stop doubting! How you feel about you is incredibly powerful yes, because it fuels my ability to move in your life, but how you feel about you is rarely grounded in any kind of reality.
As you get ready to step into this next season, you’ve got to get your identity rooted in me and who I say you are. When you do that, you’ll stop being pushed around by doubt and confusion and instead be able to stand strong in who you are in me!
This isn’t about being proud or self-centred, when you remain in me it is impossible for you to move with arrogance, but we’ve got years of conditioning to remove. You’ve grown up with messages of humility and insignificance to the point where you’ve accepted the word that you’re a worm. This is a lie!
Yes, you were created to do life with me and this means that the only way to bear fruit is to remain in me but that doesn’t make you less then. Picture the mane on a horse. It can do nothing apart from the rest of the animal. Apart from the animal, the mane will shrivel up and die, but that doesn’t make the mane any less beautiful and significant!
The same is true of you. You are incredible, a wonder to behold, and it’s time to identify with and embrace who I say you are. Take me at my word!

As we prepare for our next season together, I need you to remember that nothing is impossible with me. You’ve heard stories already of some of the weird and wonderful things I’ve done and now I’m inviting you to be a part of some stories of your own.
Yes, in this next season we will be moving in ways that will build the faith of the people who hear what I did. All of this is for your best, to allow you to move in the plan and purpose for your life, and it’s for the best of others too. Because yes, this is about more than just you.
As you and I move together, as I create amazing stories and perform incredible miracles, don’t be shy about telling other people what I’m doing. I’m very happy to be talked about! There is power in stories. Testimonies build faith in others and for some, are the keys, their entry point, to the kingdom.
Yes, our adventures are the key to someone else’s breakthrough. And not in a way that is meant to feel daunting or overwhelming, you simply need to keep moving as I move, following the nudges. The outcome is on me!
I’ve called you to do this! Success beyond all measure for my glory and the kingdom. You can do all this with me. With me is vital. I know you know this but I don’t want you to lose sight of just how important with me is, that’s why I’m reminding you again. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. With me, without exception, is the way. The way, not the best way or a good way. With me is the only way.

There is no one quite like you. I saw you and knew you as I created the world, you and billions more. Everyone who ever was, who is and who ever will be, all seen and known before the foundations of the world and each as unique as a fingerprint!
And all from the same basic building blocks of humanity, woven into intricate patterns to create billions and billions of original humans. Yes, I know the thought of that is astounding to you.
Here’s what I need you to understand today … you are seen and known, intimately so. I understand what makes you tick. I know what lights you up. I see your likes and your dislikes and know where each one came from. I watched as you journeyed the stories that would make you the person you are today.
You might sometimes feel like not everyone really gets you but there has not been one moment of your life where you weren’t fully known and understood by me. Fully known, understood and loved. Loved since the moment I saw you all the way back in eternity past.
You have been saturated in my love, held in my love, moving with my love, your whole life – even before you knew of my existence. Your knowing me doesn’t make it possible for you to be loved. You have always been loved and are loved, without exception.
As one who resides in my love, I’m inviting you to move with me into our next season. I have a plan for your life, a purpose in creating you that is wider than the default answer of “to be in relationship with God”. Yes, you were created to be in relationship with me and there’s stuff for us to do together. And it’s time to step into that purpose. Are you ready?

Why are you so surprised and delighted when you talk to me about something and I show up in the way you hoped I would? It’s lovely that you don’t take me for granted but when you’re asking me about things that are close to my heart, why would the answer be no?
I understand that you’ve not always seen me move in the way you hoped I would but don’t let those experiences tarnish your prayer life or your expectations. Ask me to move in big and wonderful ways. Ask, expecting me to answer.
And hold the answer loosely, trusting that when the answer is no or not yet, or I show you something completely different to that which you were hoping for, it is for your best. Because yes, I see the big picture and there are going to be occasions when the answer is different.
There’s definitely an important balance to be struck here because I love it when you bring all things to me. I love it when you share what’s on your heart. I want you to share what’s on your heart with a sense of expectation. Expect that if it’s on your heart, it’s on my heart. Expect that I will move. Expect that I am moving in all things for your good.
Moving in all things for your good – and often in ways you can’t yet see or don’t totally understand. Let me help you be okay with that. I want to help you thrive in all circumstances so you can give thanks, no matter what.
Yes, thankful no matter what. I know that feels difficult to hear. Hold onto the revelation that I am moving in all things for your good. You don’t need to be afraid of those “no matter what” moments because I’m with you and moving in those moments too.

Why are you believing that some things in your life must be difficult or trying? Yes, areas of life in this current age are less than my best but that doesn’t mean that everything must be taxing. What if I gave you a great big dose of my faith for some of those challenging areas? What if you believed like I believe?
I know the end from the beginning, yes, so you might argue that that gives me an unfair advantage but I’m not keeping my advantage to myself. I want to share my advantage with you! Partner with me in all areas of your life, but especially the challenging pieces, and allow me to share ideas, solutions and blueprints with you.
I am incredibly creative! Some of my ideas will be different to what seems logical and that’s where trust comes in. Do you trust that I really know what I’m doing? Do you trust that I’m moving in all things for your good? If you do then it becomes easy to simply hear me and move as I move.
But first, we need to deal with your faith. You’re believing me for some wonderful promises and you need help in your unbelief. Ask me to show you those promises that are “done” from my perspective. Yes, I know we’ve explored this before but when your faith is wavering a reminder is always helpful.
Ask me to show you the promises that are done from my perspective and ask me about the areas of your life where I want to share my faith with you. Yes, lots to explore. I have so much to share with you, this is merely the tip of the iceberg, but start here with promises and faith. And don’t be in a hurry to rush past this moment. Linger here.

What adventures will we have together today? They’re all waiting for you to discover. I know of course but I choose to step into each moment with you, as if seeing and experiencing each moment for the first time. And there is something truly wonderful about entering into this moment with you. I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment and I am full of anticipation.
Today is not “same old, same old”. Today is a gift, something precious to be treasured and enjoyed. Wake up and stop going through the motions! Ask me to show you what’s different in this moment, this day, because everything changes – and that is a good thing.
Don’t be fooled by what you see around you. Fix your eyes on what is unseen and allow me to show you everything that is waiting for you in this day. Some of it will come packaged in dressing that you’ve seen before. Don’t let the familiarity of today deceive you. This moment is special, unique.
I know you don’t always see or understand how I’m moving but it’s time to take a big, deep breath and embrace the joy in today. I repeat what I’ve said before … I do know what I’m doing and you can trust me. I’m not trying to trick you or trip you up. There are no hoops to jump through. I simply want to enjoy today, and specifically this moment of today, with you.
Hear my heart in this and be open to the nudges as we travel through this brand new day together. When you travel with me every day becomes a great big adventure. Move with me. Flow with me. And get ready to discover new ways of doing life together, one moment at a time.

Yes really. You think you know me. You know me better today than you’ve ever known me but there is still so much for us to explore together. It will take all of eternity for you to even begin to know me as I want to be known by you but why wait?
I’m inviting you deeper today. Dive into the rich depths of my love and explore everything I am. Allow me to show you all of the ways in which I’m showing up for you today. Expect to hear see, taste, touch and smell me. Yes, expect to smell me. I smell amazing!
I really am so much more than you ever dared to dream possible. I am everything and you were created to do life with all of me. I am good. You are being invited to do life with the one who is all good and all love. What could be better than that?
The world doesn’t know me but you know me. Get ready to know me even more. I’m holding your hand and leading you away from the shallow waters. You don’t need to be afraid because I am with you and I am for you. Embrace the journey with me. Keep your eyes fixed on me. With me you’ll walk on water!

You’re here to be light, bringing out my colours in the world. I am not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand.
Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with me, your generous Father in heaven.
What does it look like for you to shine publicly with me today? You’ve bought into the lie that you’re to remain humble, meek and mild. To stick your head above the parapet and draw attention to yourself is not Jesus-like but when did you ever see Jesus hide away?
He took time away from the crowds to be with me, yes, but hide away from sharing everything I gave him to share? Never! And neither must you.
I have chosen you for such a time as this. It’s no accident that you are where you are. There are people who will walk in relationship with me in the next season because of your refusal to hide or play small in this one.
Don’t shrink back. Don’t compromise my truth. Don’t dilute the message of my love for all of humanity. And just like Jesus, move as I move, speak what I give you to speak, and pray for those who seem to want nothing more than to pull you down. They will not succeed and I want to bless them through you.
Blessed to be a blessing. Loved to love others. This is so much more than you know. We are just getting started!

This relationship I’m inviting you into, the opportunity to explore all of life together and chat with me like you do with your very best friend, is going to seem strange to some people. If you have loved ones who don’t yet let me love them, they won’t understand because they don’t know me. It will seem like foolishness to them but just because not everyone understands doesn’t diminish who I am to you.
The unfortunate reality is I have children who do let me love them, who declare Jesus to be their Lord and Saviour, but still they will think that what we have is strange because they’ve believed a lie about who I want to be to you.
Who I want to be to you and to all of humanity, that’s what they’ve yet to experience for themselves in a real, tangible way. They’re keeping me at a safe, respectable distance. They love me from afar but you weren’t created to have a long distance relationship with me!
But you cannot see the lie for someone else. All you can do is show up, full to the top with my love, and let our life together speak. Don’t be shy about sharing your process. When we work through a challenge together, share that story. Let our relationship do the talking – and keep your love on. You haven’t always had this relationship with me. You too once believed a lie about me, so be careful not to slip into judgement.
And no matter how strange our relationship might seem to others, never let go of it! Don’t be tempted to fall back into how we used to do life simply to fit in. You weren’t made to fit in. I want you to shine. Shine with my love! Shine with my truth! Shine the light of my love into the darkness, my brilliant one!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
There is nothing I won’t do to demonstrate my love for you. There’s no path I won’t travel down, no river I won’t wade through, no mountain I won’t climb. Before the creation of the world, I am love and nothing will ever change that.
I need you to hold the reality of my unconditional love in your spirit, soul and body. My love is the antidote to doubt and despair. When you know just how loved you are, the frustrations of life become like mere drops in the ocean.
Love doesn’t pay the bills, I hear you think. Love doesn’t heal. Love doesn’t make everything better. You are wrong. Love is the answer to everything that ails you. There’s no gentler way to say this. When you believe the lies that love doesn’t pay the bills or heal or make everything better, you are limiting my impact and my ability to move in your life.
I understand what you’re thinking. You can’t directly pay your electricity bills with love but stop limiting how I show up in your life. Stop describing life as black or white and instead, allow me to paint in full colour!
Embrace my love for you and let it impact all areas of your life. Ask me to show you how I want to move with love in your life. Ask, expecting me to answer, and then act on what you hear. Let my love flow through your life to the people around you. Expect to see the miraculous as my love moves in unexpected ways.
Let me love you, all of you. Don’t hide away or keep some parts of you in reserve. I am love. You don’t need to be afraid. Be open to my love and watch me move!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
There is more power in my little finger than in all the forces of evil combined! I am not the opposite of satan. Satan was one of my angelic beings in the heavenly places. He is not my nemesis! I have no equal. There is nothing or no-one to whom I can be compared.
This is important, not because I want to be unknown or separate from you, but because you see the darkness and all too easily forget that that war has already been won! You are invited to live from a place of victory. That fight was won two thousand years ago at the cross and it is won today, every time you choose to live in victory.
I’m not limited by anything the enemy tries to do but you do limit yourself, your ability to live in victory, when you lose sight of who you are and whose you are. You are more than victorious because of your life in Jesus. Nothing the enemy tries to throw at you changes that. It is finished!
Ask me to show you what it looks like to live in victory in all areas of your life. Explore with me those things that have felt like ongoing battles. Why do you feel like you’re always fighting if it’s already won? Is it possible you’ve been believing a lie about who I am in your life? Ask me to show you and then together we can explore the truth, my truth.
Because there is nothing that I can’t do in your life when you allow me to flow with you. I’m not going to force my way into your life, that’s not love. Think of this as an invitation, one that I would love you to accept. I simply need your amen!

When I invite you to bring all things to me, this is not a limited invitation. And those times when you have so many thoughts racing around inside your amazing mind, you find it almost impossible to know what to bring to me, bring me everything! Nothing is off limits and no amount of overwhelm is too much for me.
Jesus said it first … “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Do you feel like you’re living freely and lightly today? If not, it’s time to bring me everything that’s weighing you down. Yes, you have responsibilities and there are certain expectations made of you but those things don’t need to feel like a lead-lined coat, being dragged with great effort through the day. That’s not what you were born for!
You think I don’t understand because I don’t have a mortgage to pay or chores to do or other people’s wages to pay or teams to lead? Look to Jesus before you try and tell me I don’t understand. He fed thousands, washed feet, kept a gang of twelve fed and on the right path, launched a global mission to save all of humanity. Don’t tell me I don’t understand!
The specifics of your life might be different but I know what it is to be overwhelmed. I understand pain and frustration. I am playing the very long game, practicing patience as I do so. You are known and understood, of that you can be certain, so bring all things to me, without exception, and let me show you how I’m moving!

No matter what kind of day you’re facing today, understand that I am here to hold you, to lift you and to strengthen you. There is joy to be had in embracing all of today with me and, as you do so, I am able to empower you in new ways.
Understand that this is not a conditional relationship. I am with you, no matter what, even if you choose not to enter into today with me. I am love and I love you, without recourse. There’s no hiding from my love and nothing can separate you from my love, ever!
The real beauty and power in embracing today with me is your awareness of my ever-nearness. As you become aware of me with you, as you start to share with me the things that are on your heart, you start to expect a reply, a response.
Expecting to hear me, expecting me to want to show up for you and with you, allows all of your senses to be open to the myriad of ways that I’m acting in your life. And that’s where the joy is found.
And no, it’s not that I cannot act unless you recognise and see me. I am always moving, always acting for your best, but without us walking this out in relationship, you won’t always see it. Or you’ll come against something in a day and assume you have to battle through on your own. This has never been the case!
You are amazing and brilliant – and you don’t have to do everything on your own! There are things you’re holding onto that I would love to hold for you. Ask me to show you where you’re trying to fix everything yourself. Let me show you my solutions. And let me bring you joy as you do so because my joy is your greatest strength.

My heart is bursting with love for you. Pause here in this moment and allow the reality of my love to infuse into every cell of your body. You are loved from the tip of your big toe, all the way up to the top of your head. Wiggle your fingers, roll your shoulders. Allow all of your body to feel my love.
Love is more than just a feeling of course but in this moment, I’m inviting you to experience my love in a new way. Notice how my love sits in your body, where my love takes up residence. Yes, I see you smiling and yes, I’m smiling with you.
You are a delight to me, my precious child, and I long for us to have face to face conversations, just like you have with the people who love you. One day you will see me face to face but we don’t need to wait for that day. I’m inviting you into real relationship today and every day.
What if you believed you could talk to me about everything? What if you believed that I want to partner with you in all things? What if our relationship felt tangible to you? What if this wasn’t just a hope but a reality?
Because there is nothing off limits. I really do have your very best on my heart and I would love to move into those things with you. A relationship as real and as tangible as the relationship you have with your best friend. That’s the invitation and it is entirely possible!
Ask me to show you what that looks like. Ask, expecting an answer – and prepare for our very next adventure!

Stop looking around you at all the things you haven’t done yet, the things you’ve told yourself you should be doing, and instead ask me for my truth. Let me show you everything you’re doing from the perspective of heaven. Yes, there are things that need your attention, commitments and expectations, but I am moving in those things too – and I’m here to help you see and understand all things, even those things, from my perspective.
Who do I say you are? How are you known in the heavenly places? What thoughts do I have concerning you? What am I saying about you and your life?
Those are the pieces, the truths, I’m inviting you to explore today. And that’s not to the exclusion of all other things. Remember, I never told you to hide away and do life with me in a cave! Do life with me, all of life with me, and explore your life from my perspective.
And be open to the possibility that some of the things that cause you stress were never yours to carry. Have you slipped into the habit of trying to control the outcome again? Outcomes are my responsibility. Stop picking up my stuff!
We can do great and wonderful things together when you stop trying to control everything and instead, go with the flow of my Spirit. Talk to me about the things we’re going to do, and share with me those things that are on your mind.
If there are pieces that would make your heart sing, tell me about them. Yes, I already know but it causes me great delight when you share with me. There is nothing about you that I’m not interested in and I’m never too busy for you, so share your heart and allow me to share mine. That’s how we build this relationship, one conversation at a time.

Open your eyes. Lift up your head. Look around you at this glorious new day. What do you see? Can you see me? Can you feel me? Do you simply know that I am with you in this moment? I want to share life with you in new ways today. Let me open all of your senses to experience life with me again, as if for the first time.
The journey we’ve been on has been incredible. It’s life together, abundant life, in a way that you never even dreamed was possible and now I’m inviting you to go deeper. Consider this your invitation to experience life with me in a way that you never have before!
And you don’t need to be afraid. This is what you were born for and, as such, is the most natural thing in the world. This is simply about new expressions of my love, new ways of hearing my heart, new understandings of what I’m saying.
I was never far from you. I’ve been here the whole time. You simply didn’t know that this kind of relationship was possible so you didn’t expect to hear me. Expectation is so important. Believing is seeing. Don’t be like Thomas, refusing to embrace all of me until you’ve seen evidence with your own eyes.
Instead, embrace the invitation right now, before you’ve seen anything. Say “yes” to new adventures, even before you’ve taken the first step. There is a new day ahead of us and it is full of wonder and delight. Believe me, even before you see the evidence and it will be credited to you as righteousness.
Taking me at my word and acting accordingly is the very best, most faith-fuelled, thing you can do right now. And when you don’t feel like you have enough faith? Ask me for more. I love you and I want to walk this out with you.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Don’t get weary in well-doing. Keep leaning in, hearing my heart. Sow where I invite you to sow and trust the process. There is a season for everything and, whilst I can and do move in supernatural ways that appear to circumnavigate the natural order, everything moves in time with the season.
No matter what season you’re in, know that I am always with you. You sometimes feel like the promises I’ve given you are never going to happen. Your feelings are not my truth! If your feelings are sending you into a spiral of doubt, ask me to help you renew your mind.
Your feelings are dictated by your thoughts. If your thoughts are soaked in drudgery, it’s no wonder you’re feeling uncertain! You are transformed by the renewal of your mind. That’s where the important work happens and it’s also where I can play with wild abandon.
What’s it going to take for you to invite me into all of you, including your mind? As you do so, your thought life will be revolutionised and with it, your feelings. And when you feel more alive, it becomes so much more fun to hear my heart and take action as I nudge you.
Do you see now how important your mind is? And the war over your mind has already been won. Jesus said, it is finished! It’s time to take ownership of the landscape that’s been won for you. Yes, the landscape of your mind. You don’t need to feel like you’re being thrown from pillar to post. It is finished! You are a new creation!
You’re not becoming a new creation. You are a new creation. The old is gone, the new is here. Stop pulling on the old habits, the old wardrobe, and instead ask me to help you step into everything I have for you right now.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
What would it look like if you allowed your mind to rest with me? You have such a brilliant mind, so many thoughts and ideas, and I gave you that wonderful mind so why not allow us to play in your mind together? What would that look like? I know you don’t really know but I ask you the question so you can bring it to me and explore with me.
Understand though that when we play in your mind, it allows you to rest in a way you don’t often experience. Imagine your mind in a state of stillness without all the thoughts rushing through it. Sounds delightful, doesn’t it?
And that’s what resting with me is like. You can rest your mind with me while you’re doing other things. This is really about heart posture and being open to new ways of communicating with me.
Instead of rushing from one thing to the next, ask me what’s on my heart. Allow me to whisper my love to you. Allow me to explore with you the things that are important to me. I want to share these things with you. Yes, the One who spoke the stars into being wants to share with you.
And remember that I’m not asking you to take direct action on everything I share. Some of the things I share with you are just for us. Other things are for you to pray into and explore more with me. Still others will be for you to share with someone else and sometimes the things I share are needed more corporately.
The only way for you to know what to do with what I share is to ask me. Don’t jump up on the very next word and broadcast it from the rooftops! Hear my heart, rest in everything I have for you, and when action is needed, trust that I’ll make that known to you.

Let us have this time together. Time together has always been important and it’s more important than ever. There is a fight on for your attention, a battle against distractions. Never in history have you been more connected to the world around you and this is beautiful, it allows you to show up and make a difference. It also means that there are pulls on your time and attention in a way that you’ve never experienced before.
This is not a rant against social media or the internet. I created you for such a time as this. Created you, saw you and knew you. You were born for this moment and there is so much good that can be harnessed. And it’s important to be aware of what’s going on around you.
This is an invitation to be even more intentional with me. Remembering that with me is a part of your day to day life. I’m not asking you to hide yourself away. How will the world really know me if you’re hiding? You can be with me when you’re driving the car, with me as you wash the dishes, with me as you’re working, with me in all the things you’re doing in a day.
Being aware of my presence, hearing the invitation for day to day, ongoing relationship, that’s the real need here. Because yes, I love it when we have those specific moments but you were created to do all of life with me. If you relegate our relationship to Sunday mornings or official “quiet times”, you’re missing out on so much!
Let me show you how we can do all of life together. Ask me, expecting me to show you, because I love doing life with you so this is one question that’s easy for me to answer!

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Never lose sight of the fact that everything you’re doing is making a difference, often in ways you don’t see. You can trust me. Trust me and trust that I know what I’m doing. Every day when you show up, every conversation you have, everything you do makes a difference. It is not pointless or worthless. Nothing is wasted and all of it is helping to build the Kingdom.
Avoid the temptation to look at what I’m building with others. I’m building with you, leading you, in a way that allows you to show up and shine. How I build with you won’t look the same as how I build with the people you look up to or follow on social media. I’m much more creative than that!
You are you and I don’t need you to be anyone other than who I created you to be. You are making an impact, even when you can’t see it. You’re faithful in the small things and I love that about you.
Every single conversation you have makes a difference. Think back on even the last twenty-four hours and remember the people you’ve spoken to. Not every single conversation was preaching the gospel in the traditional sense but you carry me everywhere you go. Every conversation someone has with you, they’re having with me. All of it makes a difference. All of it counts.
Not that I’m keeping score, that’s something you like to do and you can stop doing so. I don’t keep records like that. I simply love you and invite you to move with me, partner with me. Keep following the nudges. Keep doing what you’re doing. Share as I invite you to share. And trust that all of it makes a difference, all of it matters so very, very much.

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
You think you know love but you haven’t seen anything yet! You love ice cream and peanut butter on toast. You love Christmas and snuggly jumpers. And you love the people around you of course, your friends and your family, but as you love all these things, the foodstuffs and the seasons, you dilute your understanding of what it really means to love.
You think you understand my love for you but you’ve barely scratched the surface! I am love. It is my very nature, my core, my essence. I am God and I am love. Let me say it again … I am God and I am love.
Every and any pure expression of love comes from me, even those expressions that show up through people who say they don’t believe in me. Just because they don’t yet let me love them directly doesn’t mean that my love cannot touch them. I’ve been loving them since before they were born. If they know love, they know me. They simply don’t yet know they know!
Pause for a moment and ask me to open all your senses to a more rich understanding of my love for you. Allow my love to fill you, to touch every cell of your body. Wiggle your fingers and your toes. Feel my love reaching the very end of every single digit.
Breathe in and breathe out. I am closer than the air that you breathe and every step you take forward from here, you take in my love and with my love. I go ahead of you, preparing the way, and I am in the rear guard, protecting you from the pain of your past.
You carry me everywhere you go. You carry love everywhere you go. Feel my love. Live in my love. Allow me to show you my love that surpasses all your understanding. See it, feel it, and live in it – always!

You make me smile. Yes, the creator of the heavens and the earth is looking at you and smiling. I smiled as you opened your eyes this morning and I am smiling right now. You make me smile and you delight me.
What’s it going to take for you to really see me as I want to be known by you? I am great and magnificent but you don’t need to be afraid of me. I am inviting you in closer, face to face, just like I invited the children of Israel. Don’t repeat their mistake and insist that you know me through someone else’s experiences instead.
I want to be known by you. Yes, you personally. And yes of course, as you know me more I will invite you to introduce others to me as I want to be known so they can have their own relationship with me too. Telling someone about Jesus is not the same as trying to have their relationship with me for them. How will they know me if you don’t introduce us?
I hear you and yes, I have many ways of making myself known to people but there are people in your day to day life who will get to know me because you introduced us. How can you introduce me to others if you don’t really know me?
What do you think will happen if you move in closer and really talk to me? It’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s why you were hand-crafted. I knew and saw everything about you as I formed you with the creation of the world. Yes, you’re just a few days younger than the sun and moon from my perspective! I saw you, knew you, and said that you are very good. You make me smile!
