Mark 4:16-20 GW Other people are like seeds that were planted on rocky ground. Whenever they hear the word, they accept it at once with joy. 17 But they don’t develop any roots. They last for a short time. When suffering or persecution comes along because of the word, they immediately fall from faith. 18 Other people are like seeds planted among thorn bushes. They hear the word, 19 but the worries of life, the deceitful pleasures of riches, and the desires for other things take over. They choke the word so that it can’t produce anything. 20 Others are like seeds planted on good ground. They hear the word, accept it, and produce crops—thirty, sixty, or one hundred times as much as was planted.
We are a missions giving and missions going church. Missions is not just a part of the church, it’s the point of the church. It involves everything we do.
Everything that God does, starts with prayer. Every miracle, every changed life, everything that God does, every reset, begins with prayer. Many times, we don’t realize the power of prayer.
Frank Dimazzio is a pastor, a Bible college president, has his doctorate, author of 34 books and he talks about this word in Scripture. The word that he mentions from Scripture is FAVOR. Favor consists of 5 Greek words and 8 Hebrew words, here is the definition: Aligning our life with God’s blessing, grace and favor that positions us for increased influence, supernatural turnarounds, limitations broken, dreams awakened, missed opportunities redeemed, and wide open new doors of divine possibilities.
At the end of the day, when all the gifts have been opened and there’s nothing under the tree then Christmas is over. For many it is anticlimactic. However, what comes after Christmas is perhaps the most important part about it.

The last thing we want is to be good at church, but bad at life… It makes me ask a deeper question, “Is my life with Jesus compelling where my kids and others want to know Jesus?” Is it contagious?
Our hope is to help equip you as parents for the task that God has entrusted to you with your children.
Last week, we laid the groundwork of parenting by looking at the way we were parented. We have to consider how we were raised and align it with God’s Word if we want to become effective parents and mentors ourselves. The way we were raised is not always what’s most effective for kids today, so what can we do as a church to reach this generation? Next, we need to consider what is the Goal of parenting?
How do we know if we are doing well as a parent? What is the gauge by which we measure our success?

For some us, the series has been filled with new thinking and new ideas. But for others of us, you know about wrestling with God, and rebuilding walls, and praying dangerous prayers and yet, you might be struggling to believe IF God can really do what he says he will do. If we want to believe for breakthrough, and have faith for miracles, then we need to identify those barriers that hold us back and then overcome them.
Let’s look at a man in the Bible who was desperate for a miracle but had some barriers to his belief.
Since creation God desires to draw near to us, but since creation we have been taking matters into our own hands. We tend to think we are more powerful or wiser or more in control than God! Since humanity continues to tell God, we know better than you, the question becomes: How do we stand in the presence of a Holy God? Well, the answer is that God built the bridge and it is Jesus?
Hebrews 4:16 NLT So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
I Chronicles 4:9-10 “Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from Harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Continuing with our Everyone series, we come to the third and often most challenging spiritual principle, giving. In the Everyone series we have been considering four spiritual principles that scripture demonstrates are necessary for the life of each believer. In a world that often defines success by status and a culture that is constantly demanding more, God calls us to live a life of radical generosity. There are many misconceptions about what scripture actually says regarding our finances, so join us as Pastor Tamara looks at the truth found in the Word of God and challenges us to come into alignment with a deeply generous God.
Our Everyone series continues with our second spiritual principle, the power of serving.
