We're officially halfway through the year, which means it's time to pull those goals back out and ask ourselves a very important question:

How's that going?

In this episode, I'm sharing a mid-year life update, reviewing my 2026 goals, talking about what's working, what's not, and what I want to focus on for the second half of the year.

I'm also wrapping up June's habit challenge: waking up at 5AM every day.

Did it magically transform my life? Kinda.

Did it significantly reduce my anxiety, help me feel more grounded, improve my productivity, and strengthen my trust in myself? Absolutely.

I'm sharing the biggest lessons I learned from a month of early mornings, why I plan to keep doing it, and the six things that made it possible for me to go from hittting snooze every 9 minutes for a full hour, to leaping out of bed at the first ring of the alarm.

We also talk about:

  • Why keeping promises to yourself matters more than almost anything else
  • The surprising connection between consistency and self-confidence
  • Managing ADHD during one of the busiest months of my year
  • Why accountability can make or break a new habit
  • My obsession with goal reviews and planning for the future
  • Why my next big challenge is learning how to ask for help in my business
  • My new habit challenge for July: a daily morning walk

If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, behind on your goals, or like you need a reset, this episode is your reminder that you do not have to wait until January to start again.

Let's figure it out together.

If you enjoyed this episode, I'd be so grateful if you'd subscribe, leave a rating and review, or share it with a friend. It helps more than you know.

Day 10 of testing if waking up at 5AM will change my life.

We're officially in double digits, babies.

Ten days into my 5AM challenge, I'm learning something surprising: waking up early isn't actually the hardest part. Going to bed on time so I don't dread it is.

In this Day 10 check-in, I'm sharing the reality behind building new habits, especially with ADHD. The excitement of starting something new is beginning to wear off, the novelty is slightly fading, and I'm entering the phase where consistency matters more than motivation.

I talk about:
• The struggle of creating healthy nighttime habits when the kids are at their dad's (where my single moms at?)
• How doom scrolling, late-night TV, and "just one more thing" can sabotage even the best morning routine
• The evening routine I'm experimenting with to support better sleep and more consistent mornings
• Why habit building often requires replacing old behaviors, not just eliminating them
• The role community and accountability play in personal growth and self-improvement

If you're trying to wake up earlier, build better habits, improve your productivity, or simply become more consistent with the promises you make to yourself, this episode is a reminder that progress isn't about perfection. It's about showing up, even when the excitement fades.

And to everyone who's been sending me 5AM texts, DMs, and messages - you might be the reason this challenge is still going strong šŸ’•

Because becoming the person you want to be doesn't happen overnight - but it might happen one small habit at a time... and we're about to find out.

Four days into my 5AM wake-up challenge, and I'm already noticing some surprising changes.

In this episode of Mostly All Figured Out, I'm sharing the real-life experience of waking up at 5AM as a single mom, business owner, and person with ADHD. No miracle morning claims. No "I've completely transformed my life in a week" nonsense. Just an honest look at what's working, what's hard, and why keeping promises to yourself might be more powerful than any productivity hack.

We talk about:
• My day-by-day 5AM wake-up ratings
• Why charging my phone across the room is a game-changer
• The unexpected connection between self-trust and productivity
• Lessons from Atomic Habits by James Clear, truly one of the best books I've ever read
• How identity shapes our habits and behaviors
• Why small actions can create massive change over time
• Balancing personal goals, motherhood, business ownership, and a social life

If you've ever struggled to stick with a new habit, hit snooze one too many times, or wondered whether changing your routine could help you become the person you want to be, this episode is for you.

Follow along as I spend the next month testing whether waking up at 5AM actually leads to better focus, more consistency, business growth, and a life that feels more aligned with my goals.

Because maybe the secret isn't waking up at 5AM. Maybe it's becoming someone who keeps promises to herself ✨

Hey babies, we're back!! It's been a minute.

I'm catching you up on everything: the resting era, the panic era, and the locked-in era I'm currently living in. We're talking divorce aftermath, selling the house, a boyfriend detour, a financial wake-up call that hit like a freight train, and how sheer desperation (as per usual) is what finally got me moving.

But the real thing I want to talk about today? What it actually means to decide. Not the Instagram "claim it in the comments!!" version of deciding - the real kind. The kind where you accidentally forget to cancel a $370 hotel you never stayed in, and instead of absolutely destroying yourself over it, you just... don't. Because you've already decided you're wealthy, and wealthy women don't spiral, they pivot.

I'm also getting into my big money goals for 2026, what's actually working in my business (shoutout to my incredible contractors), and how my financial advisor pulled off a miracle I never could have dreamed up on my own.

Plus: My dog Simon makes a quick cameo, Jackson's cardinal mug gets its moment, and I shout out basically everyone I've ever met.

If you're a single mom running a business, figuring it out on your own, and tired of advice that sounds like it was written by ChatGPT - this one's for you.

In this episode, I’m giving an update on where I’m at right now - two and a half months into 2026, chasing big goals, managing ADHD, running a business, and trying to level up my income as a single mom.

My word of the year is money… and let me tell you, that has forced me to look at everything - how I work, how I charge, how I think, and honestly, how much I’ve been playing small.

I share what’s actually been going on behind the scenes in my business, including how I’m working toward a $250K year, what’s already shifting, and the mindset blocks I’ve had to call myself out on (hi, undercharging and overgiving šŸ™ƒ).

We also get into:

  • Why ā€œexpandersā€ are more powerful than generic advice
  • The reality of building a business with ADHD
  • Learning to receive money - harder than it sounds
  • Holding two truths at once - gratitude and burnout
  • The mindset shifts helping me grow faster this year
  • And how I’m learning to regulate my nervous system while still going after big goals

This episode is messy, honest, and hopefully exactly what you need if you’re in your own ā€œfiguring it outā€ era.

If you’ve ever felt like you know you’re capable of more, but can’t quite get out of your own way, this one’s for you.

Let’s figure it out together šŸ’›

Okay. This episode? It’s one of those conversations that stays with you.

This week on Mostly All Figured Out, I’m sitting down with my incredible friend Leighton Jones - dancer, nurse, immigrant, political advocate, community builder, and one of the most fearless humans I know.

We talk about what it actually means and looks like to stop caring what people think… and why that’s way harder than Instagram makes it look.

Leighton shares his story of immigrating from Jamaica to the U.S. at 19, growing up in a country where being gay is illegal, surviving bullying and violence, and choosing - over and over again - to live authentically anyway. And let me tell you… this conversation will make you rethink what bravery really looks like.

We get into:

  • Why your reaction is your power
  • How to stop people-pleasing (especially when it’s your default)
  • The difference between online connection and real-life community
  • Immigrant resilience and the trauma people don’t talk about
  • Facing fears around money, business, and asking for what you’re worth
  • What it looks like to choose joy on purpose

There’s laughter. There’s real talk. There are uncomfortable truths. There’s a moment where I get lovingly called out (and honestly? I needed it).

If you’ve ever:

  • Held yourself back because you were afraid of being judged
  • Struggled to show up authentically online
  • Felt torn between who you are and who people expect you to be
  • Needed permission to choose yourself

This one’s for you.

We’re stepping into 2026 with courage, boundaries, bold energy, and way less caring about what the wrong people think.

Let’s get into it šŸ’›

It’s 2026, babies, and you know what that means. It’s goal-setting time. In this solo episode, I’m sharing exactly how I’m planning my year, my goals (big and tiny), and what actually worked for me in 2025. From ADHD chaos to hair loss hell to realizing I’ve been emotionally held hostage by one lipstick comment since 2013 -this one’s a full-on heart-to-heart. I talk about quitting Adderall, reorganizing my office mid-spiral, the reason behind my word of the year (MONEYYY), and building real systems to actually follow through on goals.

If you’re a neurodivergent human, a chronically overextended woman, or just tired of setting resolutions that flop by February - this one’s for you. You’ll leave with a tangible, doable system for setting goals that make sense (and stick), plus a reminder that you’re not alone in trying to figure it all out.

Hi friends! Welcome back to Mostly All Figured Out! It’s 2026, and I’m kicking off this year by choosing a theme for myself that feels big and a little scary: money. Yep. This is the year I stop playing small, stop doing free labor, and start owning the value I bring - in business, in life, in everything.

In this episode, I’m reflecting on the past few years of choosing a "word of the year" (remember freedom? gamechanger? routine?) and sharing why this year is all about financial growth, CEO energy, and actually believing I’m the boss I already am. I’m diving into what held me back before, what I’m focusing on now, and what I’m no longer available for (spoiler alert: burnout and undercharging).

If you’ve been feeling stuck in survival mode, unsure how to level up, or just need a nudge to finally pick your own word of the year - this one’s for you.

I’m talking about:

  • How I pick my annual theme and why it matters
  • What ā€œmoneyā€ really means to me this year
  • The tough love I got from a friend that changed everything
  • ADHD, routines, and finding a rhythm that actually works
  • And how I plan to grow this podcast and my income this year

Let’s make 2026 the year we show up differently - more confident, more intentional, and more in charge of our lives. What’s your theme for the year? Let me know. Let’s do this together.

In this episode of Mostly All Figured Out, I’m sharing how working from home unexpectedly helped me create a more intentional holiday season, build an evening routine that actually stuck, and be more present with my kids during December.

I knew going into this month that I’d have the boys a lot - their dad was gone for most of December - and I didn’t want to look back and feel like I missed it while technically being there the whole time. So I got intentional with my days, locked in during work hours, and built small systems that supported the kind of mom and human I wanted to be this season.

We talk about:

  • Working from home as a system (not just a vibe)
  • Building an evening routine without forcing it
  • Habit stacking and ADHD-friendly routines
  • How washing the dishes every night completely changed my life (swear to God, I'm just as shocked as you are)
  • Being present with your kids without burning yourself out
  • Why small, supportive habits matter more than big overhauls

I also share a quick update on working on the inauguration reception for Buffalo’s incoming mayor, Sean Ryan, and why there’s no real slowing down as the year wraps up.

If you’ve been craving calmer days, better routines, or proof that small changes can actually change how your life feels - this episode is for you šŸ’›

In this episode of Mostly All Figured Out, we are talking about the one habit that turned me from a stressy, scroll-til-midnight gremlin into a cozy, journal-writing, gym-going, calm mom. That’s right: I stopped bringing my phone to bed. And babies? I'm a changed woman.

I’ll share:

  • Why I started accidentally journaling (and my realization that there is no 'right' way to do it)
  • How ditching screens led me to sexy romance novels (A Court of Thorns and Roses? Not for me. Sorry to the fae community.)
  • The cozy and healing magic of tarot cards and my guilty pleasure tarot interpreter - DON'T JUDGE ME I'M JUST A GIRL
  • A little love letter to my favorite podcast that re-lit my fire for personal growth
  • The very real ADHD struggles with time, routine, and money - and how I’m finally fighting back with better habits
  • This month’s new healthy habit: working from home (and not bankrupting myself at coffee shops anymore)
  • And the mantra saving my life right now: My reaction is my power

Plus, I share what I’ve been up to, what’s been working, and how this whole one-new-habit-a-month thing is slowly shifting my life.

Listen if you’re:

  • Craving a dopamine detox
  • Tired of being tired all the time
  • Curious about how tiny changes can create massive momentum
  • A single parent, an ADHD girlie, or someone just trying to hold it all together

no screen bedtime habit, ADHD and routines, healthy habit podcast, self care for moms, tarot for beginners, journaling mental health, dopamine detox, working from home ADHD, romance books for anxiety, mostly all figured out podcast

Okay, this one? A true emotional rollercoaster.

Lizzy (my actual sister, not just in vibes - she's legally my sibling) is back on the pod, and we are talking about everything. From her journey as a teen mom, to both of us getting divorced, to dating again in our 30s and how different our experiences have been...it’s all in here.

There’s a story in here where Lizzy had to fake passing out just to get medical care. There’s a man who felt the need to clarify ā€œI’m not gayā€ in his dating profile. There are espresso martinis. There is chaos. And now there's you.

We get into:

  • Lizzy’s teen pregnancy and marriage/divorce story
  • What it’s really like dating post-divorce (spoiler: UN-HINGE-D)
  • A savage roast of some of the worst dating app bios we’ve seen (and saved for your listening pleasure)
  • What we actually want in a relationship now, and why we won’t settle for less
  • The comforting joy of ginger ale and Lorna Doones in a crisis

If you've ever faked enthusiasm for a man with ā€œBills Mafiaā€ in his bio, this episode is for you.

What you’ll walk away with:

  • A reminder that you’re not alone in the mess
  • Permission to laugh at things that were once not funny
  • Sisterly advice on what red flags to dodge like your life depends on it
  • Deep validation if you’re feeling like love is broken - it’s not, the apps just might be

Highlights & Time Stamps:

  • 00:00 – Sisters’ reunion & immediate chaos
  • 02:30 – Lizzy’s teen‑mom journey + unexpected hospital trip
  • 16:00 – My divorce story + re‑starting life and self‑worth
  • 28:45 – Dating app horror show: the worst bios we’ve saved
  • 36:20 – What we really want in a partner (and why we’ve changed)
  • 42:00 – Wrap‑up, sibling shout‑outs, next episode tease

Not every episode will be about dating, I promise. But this one? Absolutely had to be. Part two is coming soon, and you’ll want to be here for it.

Love you. Mean it.

Now go swipe left on that man holding a fish.

This episode is a mix of real talk, healing energy, and gentle chaos. I’m opening up about a big bedtime shift that’s actually helping my anxiety and sleep - no screens in bed. My phone’s across the room now, and suddenly I’m… journaling? Reflecting? Pulling tarot cards?? Who even am I. Spoiler: I like her.

But the biggest shift? Prepping for 9 days without my kids while they travel overseas with their dad - over Thanksgiving. It’s the longest we’ve ever been apart, and it’s stirring up big emotions: grief, co-parenting anxiety, and solo holiday dread. But instead of spiraling, I’m finding ways to turn pain into power.

If you’re in a life transition, facing a solo holiday, or just navigating a hard co-parenting moment, this one’s for you.

šŸ”‘ In this episode, I share:

  • The bedtime boundary that’s saving my sleep and mental health
  • Why journaling is suddenly working (for real this time)
  • How I’m prepping for a kid-free Thanksgiving (without losing it)
  • My gratitude list ritual for reframing grief and loneliness
  • What it means to choose healing over hurting, even when it’s hard

šŸŽ™ļø This podcast is for you if you're:

  • A millennial figuring out life in real time
  • A co-parent managing complex emotions
  • Healing through grief, transitions, or just… being alive
  • Craving relatable, vulnerable, and sometimes hilarious conversations

I’ve officially gone screen-free after 9PM for a whole week… and it might be changing my entire life??

In this episode, I’m breaking down the surprising (and honestly wild) impact of cutting off phone time before bed - from actually cleaning my room (shocking), to finishing a sexy fairy book (that I hated?), to waking up with positive vibes like some kind of morning person.

I also talk about:

  • The night I broke the rule, and why it lowkey proved how powerful this habit is
  • My mini car scroll moment (we’re all fragile, okay)
  • How less screen time has boosted my productivity, improved my sleep, helped with emotional regulation, and made me feel like a more present parent

Oh, and there’s a letter from my son that had me ugly crying in the best way — this one's got heart.

šŸ”‘ Key things you'll find in this episode:

  • How to stop doomscrolling at night
  • Setting phone boundaries for better sleep
  • Creating a night routine without screens
  • Mental health and screen time
  • Journaling before bed
  • Parenting while healing (and trying your best)

If you’re thinking of setting a no screens rule at night or just need a cozy, encouraging listen to nudge you into a better habit... this is your sign šŸ’«

šŸ’¬ In this episode:

  • Why I’m screen-free after 9pm (and kinda obsessed)
  • The gross feeling of breaking my own rule
  • A weirdly productive week
  • How I discovered sexy fairy books were not for me
  • Parenting wins that hit deep

DM me or drop a comment if you’re trying out no screens after 9 - let’s be emotionally regulated girlies (or girlies adjacent) together.

The people voted. The people wanted me to work out every day.
And I… kindly said, ā€œNo thank you.ā€

This week, we’re kicking off a brand-new month and a brand-new habit: no screens after 9PM. Why? Because I want to actually succeed at this whole becoming-my-best-self thing. And if that means I have to ditch late-night Instagram doomscrolling in favor of sleep and sanity, so be it.

In this episode, I’m talking about:

  • The habit I am committing to this month, and why.
  • Why working out daily isn’t the first step (at least not for me).
  • A beautiful breakdown from my friend Victoria about how nervous system health, rest, and screen time are all connected.
  • The realest talk on the most important habit of all: keeping promises to yourself.

Also: shout out to my ADHD brain, mini crosswords, my love-hate relationship with January, and the power of making just one change at a time.

If you’re ready to make one small shift that could unlock bigger ones, come do this with me. And if you need a little cheerleader in your ear while you figure it out? That’s what I’m here for.

Felicia is back, baby! And this time, we’ve got better mics and zero foils crinkling in your ear. In Part 2 of my conversation with my ā€œhairy godmother,ā€ Felicia Cardinale - owner of Mercury Salon and one of the most deeply intuitive humans I know - we go way beyond hair.

We talk about what it means to create safe, affirming spaces for all folx to feel seen, supported, and stylin'. Felicia shares the real (and raw) story of how she opened her salon - spoiler alert: it involves coffee-fueled late nights, screaming landlords, and a serious survival mode hustle.

She opens up about building community, being your authentic self (even when it’s messy), and what it really takes to come back from rock bottom. We also touch on the power of mentorship, asking for help, and how falling on your face is basically a prereq for success.

This episode is hilarious, healing, and honest - just like a great salon session should be.

In this episode:

  • The real story behind Mercury Salon's creation
  • Why the salon chair often becomes a therapist’s couch
  • Felicia’s wisdom on surviving hard seasons and coming out stronger
  • The surprising connection between hair care and personal growth

šŸ‘‘ Felicia is currently accepting new clients! Call Mercury Salon at 716-883-8800 or DM @mercurysalon43allenstreet on Instagram to book with her 6-12 weeks in advance, baby.

So… I went through a breakup last week. Which means, we need to talk about The Three-Month Rule - aka that moment in every relationship when the dopamine wears off and you may start to see the person you've been swooning over a lil differently.

In this episode, I’m breaking down the arc of my post-divorce dating, the absolutely feral things your brain does when you think you’re catching feelings, and why my therapist Deborah (we love her) is absolutely correct about the three-month mark being a turning point. I’m walking you through how I got back into the dating world and the patterns I keep seeing in myself - and maybe in you, too.

I also read you my list of qualities for my ideal man, directly from my Notes app. It’s giving ā€œmanifestation with a side of delusion,ā€ but why bother living any other way, honestly. Plus, we’re talking about the honeymoon phase and how to tell if someone’s actually worth the emotional labor of a hard conversation.

Whether you’re dating, healing, avoiding Hinge like the plague, or just here for the chaos - you are so welcome. Love you, babes. I’m glad you’re listening. Let’s keep figuring this shit out together.

✨ In this episode:

  • I cry. Just kidding lmao
  • I explain why three months is the magic number (and not in a cute way)
  • I roast my dating history and read you my "ideal man" list
  • We talk boundaries, patterns, and how not to ignore red flags (again)
  • And I give you permission to get a rebound. A hot one.

This week, we’re getting real about something I know you’re doing too: living for everyone else. Whether it’s making chili on your birthday or saying yes to a project when your calendar is already screaming no, this episode is for the good girls, the independent women, and anyone who’s been caught in the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing.

In this solo episode, I’m talking:

  • Where people-pleasing shows up in my daily life (spoiler: everywhere)
  • Why doing less might actually be the key to feeling better
  • A surprisingly emotional chili-related meltdown
  • My favorite concept from the book Unbound by Kasia Urbaniak

I’m also challenging you (and myself) to pick just three things a day that actually matter—and say no to the rest. Yes, even to the chili.

We’re back!!! Season 4 is officially here, and I am so freaking happy to be back behind the mic. I missed this space. I missed you. And honestly, I’m coming into this season with a whole new energy - and a whole new game plan.

In this kickoff episode, I’m reintroducing myself (hi, I’m Emily Rose šŸ‘‹), and sharing the deeply personal, mostly chaotic path that got me here - from growing up the oldest of nine in a big Polish Catholic family to giving an epically bad chastity speech to a group of fourth graders (don’t worry, I explain), to becoming a single mom, small biz owner, and woman who is finally figuring out what she wants… not just what everyone else expects from her.

I’ve never been a perfectionist - but I am a lifelong people pleaser. I’ve spent so much of my life trying to be what everyone else needed, expected, or wanted me to be. And that led me into some very real moments of crisis, transformation, and (thankfully) growth.

This season, the podcast is evolving. I’m doing something new: every month, I’m taking on a different habit or goal (like waking up early, working out, tracking my spending) and using this space to hold myself accountable in real time. The goal? Progress, not perfection. Just messy, human, hilarious, healing growth.

In this episode:

  • Why I’m switching things up this season (again)
  • That time I weaponized a chastity talk (sorry to literally all my friends)
  • How pregnancy, miscarriage, and divorce forced me to rethink everything
  • Learning to stop living for other people’s approval
  • How ADHD and radical acceptance have shaped me lately
  • The monthly challenges I’m taking on (and dragging you into with me)

Whether you’re brand new here or you’ve been around since day one, thank you for being part of this. We don’t have to have it all figured out. We just have to show up.

This week’s episode is a real treat—not just because my guest is an actual magical human, but also because it happened to be her birthday when we recorded it. šŸŽ‰ The universe has impeccable timing, and so does my friend Lauren, who introduced me to the one and only Beth Metal.

Beth is a tarot reader, animist, channeler, and all-around spiritual badass. In this episode, we dive into:

  • Her journey from flower-whispering child to full-on mystic
  • What animism is (and why she once had to flee a Savers mid-sensing)
  • How she got into tarot, what it was like being told ā€œyou’re a witch,ā€ and why her first deck cracked something open
  • Channeling spirits (yes, including one in an elevator!)
  • Differentiating intuition from anxiety (this part blew my mind)
  • Why everything—yes, everything—can be a sign
  • And how honoring your inner child can change everything

Beth also shares what it’s like doing readings for others, what questions people ask her the most (spoiler: love & career never die), and what happens when you ask the universe for a breadcrumb and it hands you a pterodactyl.

This episode is cozy, witchy, healing, and full of giggles and goosebumps. If you’ve ever wondered if that weird feeling means something—this one's for you.

✨ Book a reading with Beth or follow her work at @nearbethexperience or at nearbethexperience.com.

šŸ¦• And yes, we talk about the time a drink cup with a dinosaur on it ushered me into a new era.

This week’s episode is such a fun one, and honestly, I wish we could've kept it going because I have SO many follow-up questions. I sat down with Lindsay Robson, who you might know from Nickel City Pretty, Copper & Steel, When’s Food? podcast, the Buffalo Blogger Network… and basically every cool creative corner of Buffalo.

We talked about all of her amazing projects and how she’s managed to keep showing up creatively through all the highs and lows — including her divorce. Which brings us to the real juice of this episode: dating post-divorce.

Lindsay has been on over 60 first dates in the last couple of years (yes, you read that right), and she came ready to share the wild, the weird, and the occasionally heartwarming tales from the dating trenches. We talked about the apps, the red flags, the lessons, and how she stays grounded through all of it.

But the real takeaway? Be true to yourself. Go to that event. Start the thing you’ve been dreaming about. Wear the outfit. Go on the date. Whatever it is — do it for you.

Also… men are something else right now. So, maybe just protect your peace at the moment if you are a single straight woman.

So whether you’re dating, divorced, deep into your creative journey, or just trying to figure things out — this one’s for you.

Thanks for listening, and as always — we’re all mostly all figured out, and that’s more than enough. šŸ’›

Everyone’s in for a real treat with this one — meet my grandparents, Norbert and Rosemarie Marciniak! While visiting them in Las Vegas, I pulled out my mic (much to their surprise) and started asking all the questions: about their childhoods, how they met, what parenting was like in the ’60s and ’70s, and whether hindsight really is 20/20. We even tossed in some audience questions from Instagram!

This episode is one my family and I will cherish forever. I hope you enjoy their stories, laughs, and time tested advice as much as I did. Give it a listen — and if you’re lucky enough to still have your grandparents around, go give them a big hug ā¤ļø

In this episode of the Mostly All Figured Out podcast, I sit down with Chad Williams, founder of the clothing brand dooProcess. Chad opens up about his journey from growing up in a large, close-knit family in Brooklyn to moving to Buffalo to attend Buffalo State University. Wrestling played a huge role in his life, and although an injury altered his athletic path, Chad's resilient mindset carried him forward.

Chad shares the powerful and emotional story of being wrongfully arrested while trying to help a friend—an experience that deeply impacted his education and work life. This challenging time ignited his passion for justice reform and inspired him to create dooProcess, a street-wear clothing brand that donates 15% of sales to social justice organizations.

Through our conversation, Chad talks about the importance of family, turning obstacles into opportunities, and how fashion has become his powerful medium for storytelling and advocacy. He also offers a glimpse into Buffalo's vibrant and growing fashion scene and the role community engagement plays in his mission. Chad's story is a testament to staying grounded, embracing life's challenges, and living life freely.

In this episode, I'm sharing a simple practice that's already made a huge difference in keeping me on track with my goals — a monthly review. Taking about an hour at the end of each month to reflect has helped me stay accountable, identify where I fell short, and create a plan to overcome obstacles in the month ahead.

For example, I wasn’t as consistent with podcasting this month as I’d hoped. To fix that, I’m putting some new systems in place — like working with a podcast editor (shoutout to Jake!), scheduling a batch of interviews in advance, and shifting most future interviews to virtual. These changes will streamline my process and save so much time!

I love sharing what’s working for me, and I hope this episode inspires you to try something similar. Tune in and let me know what you think!

Alright, let’s be real—vision boards can feel a little cringe. Cutting out magazine quotes like ā€œBe Braveā€ and slapping them on a poster doesn’t magically make you brave (trust me, I’ve tried). But here’s the thing: vision boards can actually work—if you do them right.

In this episode, I’m breaking down:
✨ Why your past vision boards might’ve been a total flop
✨ The one small tweak that made mine actually work
✨ How I used a vision board to manifest my dream home (spoiler: it wasn’t magic, but it was kinda wild)
✨ The key to picking images that actually get you results
✨ Why you should focus on one goal at a time (I know it's hard but trust me on this)

I promise—this isn’t just another fluffy ā€œbelieve and receiveā€ talk. We’re getting practical about how to use vision boards in a way that feels good and gets results.

We've all heard it a million times— "Gratitude is life-changing!" "You need a gratitude practice!" "It’ll shift your mindset, attract abundance, and transform your life!" But… does it really work?

For me, the answer has been a resounding yes. What started as a 28-day gratitude journey at the beginning of the year has turned into something I never want to stop. Along the way, I’ve experienced incredible shifts—some small, some truly life-changing. In this episode, I’m sharing some of the wins I’ve seen firsthand, plus the simple yet powerful tools I’ll be carrying with me long after the "challenge" is over.

Gratitude isn’t about ignoring the hard stuff—it’s about finding the good even when things feel uncertain. It’s a way to break free from negativity, to see the beauty and possibility that already surround us. I truly believe that recognizing and appreciating what’s working in our lives can create even more good.

I hope this episode gives you ideas on how to weave gratitude into your own life in a way that feels effortless and real. If it resonates with you, let me know—I’d love to hear from you! šŸ’›

I still can't believe this interview actually happened. I fell in love with Ellie's voice before I had the chance to meet her and fall in love with her as a human. In this episode, she shares what it was like being a kid in high school who knew with explicit certainty what she wanted to be when she grew up. She talks about the importance of setting and enforcing boundaries, sticking up for yourself, and the transformative power of taking time off the grid to connect with yourself.

I didn’t know it at the time, but so much of our conversation ties into her latest single, Woman, released in October. If you haven’t already, search for "Ellie Banke" wherever you listen to music and give it a spin—it’s the perfect prequel to this episode.

Ellie also opens up about redefining femininity and womanhood on her own terms, breaking free from societal norms, and embracing the freedom that comes with it.

This is a conversation you don’t want to miss. If you love it as much as I do, please share, follow, and stream Ellie’s music—she deserves all the love and listens!

She is Ellie Banke on all the things - Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube!

Hello, hello! This episode was originally recorded in April 2024. And what a year 2024 was! Sadly, not a year with this podcast interview in it. But here it is now!

The guest is Sarah Baird, Executive Director or Let There Be Light International, an organization that along with local NGO partners helps people in off-grid Africa to gain access to solar energy in their homes and frontline health clinics. In this episode we talk about the many fascinating twists and turns her life has taken over the years - from making a blood pact to become a comedian with her sister, to getting a masters in Russian studies, to stay-at-home moming, to creating an organization impacting millions of people through the power of solar light.

This is a great conversation and will definitely inspire you to ride the wave of life and be open but also intentional about whatever direction it takes you in. Enjoy!

Happy New Year! I'm sure I say this every year but I cannot believe it's 2025. Like... what??? We are five years from 2030 I cannot get over this.

Anyway šŸ˜… this episode is a solo update on where I'm at and what the podcast is going to look like this year. I also talk about my favorite New Year's ritual - picking a theme word for the year. I highly recommend this as a way to keep yourself grounded in the energy you want to live in this year. It's a significantly more realistic way to set an intention for your year versus the old New Year's resolutions. Leave those behind and find your word!

Thanks for listening 🄰

In this episode, I sat down with Executive Chef Malik Von Saint of Harvest Restaurant at Bent's Opera House in Medina. Chef talked about his journey growing up in the industry, and the people and places that had an impact on him. As the leader in his fine dining kitchen now, he uses all the things he's learned along the way to usher the next generation of culinary creators.

He shared how difficult it is to live the lifestyle of a chef, especially with maintaining an intimate relationship. We also talked about how making small changes in his routines and starting therapy really made a big difference for him.

In the episode, Chef references "A Cook's Tour" an event the benefits an organization called Family Meal, a nonprofit that emerged from a desire to support struggling hospitality industry workers. Be sure to check them out to support or look for support if you need it.

Thanks for listening, please share it with your friends!

And get yourself to Harvest for a meal you will love, and a stay at Bent's Opera House! I got to stay there with my sister and it was so lovely. The rooms are all different and unique, and the little town has all sorts of fun shops and bars to slip in and out of. Less than an hour away!

Aaaaaaaaand we're back. I won't bore y'all with what life has been like the last couple of months that led to another podcast hiatus. Well, actually I will, but I'll save it for a solo episode.

More importantly, I'm THRILLED to share my conversation with Justin Hofschneider of Wine on Hertel (WOH)! Justin and I met ages ago when he first soft opened WOH and I was "writing articles" for Step Out Buffalo. Sadly, the article I was supposed to write for his business was never written (sounds believable doesn't it?), but years later, he ended up dating my sister! And now he's the awesome Step Daddy J to my three nieces and my nephew.

In our episode, we talked about his side of the story of their relationship (My sister Liz gave her side in the controversial episode #47) and how he transitioned from single business owner bachelor to doing school pick-ups and making dinners for 6. We also talk about how Wine on Hertel began and the slow process it was to making it what it is today - coming up on year 10!

We talked a lot about perspectives and the importance of taking nothing for granted. There are lessons around every corner if you are open to learning them. Hope you enjoy this episode, and if you do, please share!

Follow Wine on Hertel on IG: @wineonhertel
And be sure to stop by for a glass of wine and some delicious tapas!

Finally, I give you, the long-anticipated, fascinating conversation with the one and only, Sean Wrafter. Sean and I recorded this back in April of this year which honestly feels like another lifetime to me.

Sean is the co-owner of Acme Cabinet Company. Before that, he designed and built furniture and commercial fixtures at his furniture store called Wrafterbuilt. He's worked in construction, inside and outside sales and marketing, and many other things in-between.

We talked about his career trajectory but also got into the difficulty of finding a good therapist, changing the narrative in your friends' group to help you stick to your health and self-care goals, the importance of being present, and so much more.

OMGGGGG I am so happy to be back 😭 Wow I missed this podcast, I missed talking into the mic alone, I missed sharing great conversations with amazing people, wow wow wow. I can't let 4 months go by like that again.

But, tbh, I had to. I share more in the episode, but it's been a wild 4 months of pushing to the finish line of this chapter of my life. It's been frustrating, sad, exciting, and scary all at once. We're still in it, but it's getting close.

Also in this episode, I share exactly how I manifested my dream apartment. This was such a massive thing for me. I desperately wanted to find a place that felt like a real home for my boys. This has been a tough year for them, too. But also, leaving the house my ex and I bought together, the place where both my boys grew up, it's really the final nail in the coffin of this chapter, so I wanted to start over somewhere that made me feel joy, hope, and comfort. When I tell you this place is literally exactly what I wanted... I can't believe it, but also, I a little bit can.

Have a listen, tell your friends the best podcast around is back on, and give yourself a hug cause you're doing a great fucking job.

Chris Flynn of Bflo Pizza Bistro is on the podcast today! Y'all, I have been shook over how this podcast has opened doors to meeting new people doing really cool things. I met Chris while with a friend at Free Street Tavern. When he was introduced to me as the owner of Bflo Pizza Bistro, my first thoughts were - wow that is so cool, I need to know more about how he got to this point! However, it came out verbally as "what gave you the audacity to open a pizza shop in Buffalo?" Lol. Oopsie.

Luckily he got what I meant and didn't take offense to it, we recorded a visually disastrous mini podcast right then and there at Free Street and then set up a time to do the real thing a couple weeks later.

Chris and his buddies also started a major annual beloved Buffalo event - Buffalo Groundhog Day. They all seem to possess the "fuck around and find out" mindset that I am now obsessed with. I hope that listening to Chris talk about his journey inspires you to just do the damn thing - whatever it is for you. Cause why not!?

David Gonzalez from Arbol and Arbol Community Fund is on the podcast today! David and I have known each other for a long time, and I have absolutely loved watching his career unfold, transition, and grow... especially from our days serving at Carrabba's Italian Grille.

David co-founded Arbol, an online application that empowers college students to take action on their finances, providing an engaging experience that alleviates the anxiety of managing financial aid and personal finances. Ultimately it helps in reducing dropout rates. David has always had an entrepreneurial mindset, and has always prioritized his career. We talk about all the ups and downs, including the opportunities he created for himself. So many good nuggets in here for anyone looking to start a business or advance their career. Hey, y'all. It's been a weird week. I've been in a funk for no real reason. For me, when anxiety appears, it takes the form of a tight chest and decision paralysis. Which is why I'm posting this podcast at 10:45PM on the day it should be up.

In this episode, I share how imposter syndrome and people-pleasing accosted me the last few days and the things I did tonight to help break me out of the spiral I've been sliding down.

If this was a rough week for you too, you're not alone. I don't think how I feel is abnormal. So here I am telling you about it. Thanks for listening, I hope this helps somebody.

My brother is on the podcast today!! I know I say this a lot, but this really was one of my most favorite episodes to record, DEFINITELY my most favorite to edit, and it's such a good listen, too. John Marciniak is Marciniak #6 of the 9 of us, and he has been an entertainer since birth. I have proof weaved into this episode - I inserted a clip from a "Family Documentary" project I did in college and John was probably around 9-years-old then. He and my brother Tyler (#3) started their band years ago, first as "The Spaghetti Boys", and now as "Johnny & The Mankids". John has written over 30 songs, and we talk about where his inspiration comes from, his upcoming cross-country tour, and who in our family would make it in an apocalypse. I guarantee you can't listen to this without laughing through it, so be prepared to feel a lot of joy.

Mike "Shooky" Ciesiulka, co-owner of JJ's Casa Di Pizza and fan-fave bartender at Free Street Tavern joined me in studio today! We got to record in Casa which was awesome (check it out on the YouTube!) so apologies for some of the background noise/music - but I think it adds to the esthetic šŸ•ŗšŸ¼

Mike and I talked about where he grew up, teaching CCD classes at OLBS in Depew, his career trajectory (he first started working at Casa Di Pizza when he was 16!), and things that bring him joy in day-to-day life. We also talked about his son Ethan, what made him such a special kid, and how Mike processed his grief after his loss and continues to do so.

I'm so grateful to Mike for being open and willing to talk through everything we discussed, and I know for certain everyone who listens will too. Enjoy!

This one is a biiiiiiiiiiit personal, some might argue, a bit too personal? I bring my sister on and consume two bottles of wine while we talk dating in 2024. Definitely not one for the kids, ensure there are no children around that can hear this when you do. Trust and believe the public podcast will not have content like this again šŸ˜… But once I officially launch the Patreon (a membership platform that you will be able to sign up for to get extra content and some fun goodies from me!), this will be a series where Lizzy and I consume alcohol and hash something out. This episode went on a lot longer than I thought it would šŸ˜‚ I've been doing a lot of putting my money where my mouth is over the last year and I have started seeing some really great results from it. So in this episode I share where I've been investing my time, energy and money, in the hopes that it'll inspire you to do the same for yourself.

Going through a major life change has pushed me to focus more energy on becoming the person I want to be. But you don't have to uproot your whole life to believe you are worthy of pursuing your dreams. You just have to start taking steps toward it. Oh you believe you are worthy of having what you want? Composting, recycling, landfills... oh my! I finally got my episode with sustainability engineer John Atkinson! Recycling has always been such a mystery to me so I was grateful to be able to ask some of the questions that have been swirling around my brain for a while. It turns out that recycling IS in fact important. We actually do make a difference when we do it properly. Additionally, we should all be composting. John walks us through how and what that looks like, which again before this convo was a complete mystery to me. I still have to get my compost bucket but I WILL get it and I'll share on the gram once I do. Hope you enjoy this episode and that it gives you some good tips for managing your own waste better!

We're trying something new this week! YouTube. Can you believe? It's been confirmed from our guru at the Buffalo Public Library, the brilliant Jordan, that we can use camera equipment there! So that means sometimes you will see us recording with guests in the library, and other times you will see me in the studio in my home office. And still, other times, you are gonna see me god knows where because I occasionally bring the mic to wherever our guests are. This week we're in my log cabin living room. Never again šŸ˜‚

In this episode, I share a couple of things I actually do to prepare for a new year. Please ignore the episode I did last year with eight ridiculous steps that got me nowhere. What are your New Year rituals?

I'm so happy I am doing this again, y'all. Like you have no idea how much this fills my soul right up.

Episode 2 of this season was actually recorded at the tail end of season 1, before I knew that I really had to take a break. Josh White and I had a great convo about the journey that brought him to owning Free Street Tavern, an awesome spot on Niagara Street for a cocktail or a beer, and the chillest vibes. I was super excited to hear about how he did it after hearing that he had been working in the service industry for always, and had two young kids (and a super supportive wife). He may not know what affirmations are, but he knows how to run a good bar you'll want to keep coming back to, haha. Hope you enjoy the episode!

Oh my gracious how I have missed this. I am so so so so happy to be kicking off season 2 (FINALLY)!! It's been a fucking ride the last few months, y'all. Each day I'm living somewhere between extreme gratitude and extreme devastation. I share this because it's likely the current season I'm in will guide my conversations with future guests on the show. I won't be afraid to ask the tough questions this time.

So buckle up y'all, season two is about to go DEEP!

Thanks for listening and sharing ✨

This week's episode was recorded in the fabulous Mercury Salon in Allentown with salon owner, my hairdresser for years, and most importantly, my friend and fairy godmother, Felicia Cardinale!

To know Felicia, is to love Felicia. Unless you've crossed her, then GOD SPEED. She is as real as they come and though she's dealt with some heavy trials in life, she still makes room in her heart for everyone else's trials and troubles to be hashed over in her salon.

A self-proclaimed "hair-apist", she pulls on her own past experiences and healing journey to help her clients as best she can, even if that's just with a nonjudgmental listening ear.

While she might not be able to fix all your problems, she certainly can fix your hair. We talk current hair trends, the importance of continued training and learning in cosmetology, a life-changing decision she made to kick something out of her house, and so much more! Hope you enjoy this episode with this truly magical human!

My guest today is an absolute boss. The first time I ever met her, I was like, who is this Disney princess with sparkling eyes and perfect hair. But wait, she’s also hilarious. Hold on, additionally, she’s wicked smart and most definitely, a cool mom.

She is the owner of Handmade by Harrisons, which you can find at local vendor and craft markets near you, to pick up their signature Buffalo Bills denim jackets, shirts, and so much more. She co-hosts the Saucy Book Club podcast. She is the mom of a future activist and justice warrior no doubt, named Harrison. An active member of the local Moms Demand Action group and she works the polls at all our elections to make sure we can vote safely and securely, AND oh yeah, her full-time job is as Development Manager for the American Cancer Society. Meet, my friend, and human who inspires me all the time, Dylyn M Harrison!

We talked about parenting and having tough conversations about the state of the world with our little ones, what it looks like in Albany on lobby days (she just came back from one the day before we recorded this!), and how critical it is to just say "no" in the pursuit of your own peace and happiness.

For updates on Handmade by Harrisons follow their IG here.

Missy is a licensed mental health counselor, but also she is the headmistress of the Eye Candy Vixens, a burlesque troop! We talk about how she got started doing burlesque, how it's improved her body confidence, and how prioritizing something she truly enjoys has affected all parts of her life. You will love this one!

Y'all we FINALLY got my sister officially on the podcast today! We talked about the most pivotal, life altering job she ever had: selling make up for an MLM.Ā

To be clear, neither she or I condone working for MLMs and I especially think they are fucking garbage. Sorry not sorry. BUT, I am forever grateful for how this one completely shifted her entire life for the better in every way possible.Ā

Enjoy!

Solo episode today in which I share how I've been bogged down by the ugly victim mentality lately, but then move from that to some ideas I have for how we can all grow together! I am actually suuuuuper excited about this idea because I know it has the potential to be life-changing for us! I know that is a big claim, but I honestly really believe it.

EVERYONE: there is a very special guest on the podcast today. In fact, the most specialist guest, aka my very best friend, Alex Hamberger. Today, Alex gives a 101 on the current climate as it relates to LGTBQ+ rights. Specifically, as it relates to the over 420 pieces of proposed legislation currently working their way through State houses that are anti-LGBTQ+, with a large number specifically denying trans folx rights.

This episode was very informative for me, and gave me ideas on how to support my trans friends during this really scary time. Hope you enjoy this episode with a person I love very much!

Y'all. I had no idea how lucky I was about to be with this week's episode. I went to my friend's house to learn how to decorate cakes and ended up meeting one of the coolest people! Jason Gonzalez is on the podcast this week, a Buffalo transplant from New Jersey (most recently), who was a professional dancer for 25 years and then changed careers through culinary school becoming a professional baker and caterer! But legit he danced with Ludacris, and Pretty Ricky among other incredible performers, AND he has been on not one but two Food Network food competitions. Missy Stolfi on the podcast today! Oh man, I love this human. Missy and I met working at American Cancer Society in 2014, and we’ve both been on a career journey since then.Ā

What a treat it was to talk about some of her journey in the last few years, navigating big career changes, moving to different cities, and choosing herself through it all. Outside influences can make it very hard to trust your gut and listen to yourself, but Missy has done just that, in spite of the fear.Ā

If you are considering making a big leap in a different direction, this episode is for you. Enjoy loves!

We're back at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library today! I was so honored and happy to have Jill Fecher in the hot seat this week. Jill is the Chief Growth Officer at Cypress North, a digital marketing agency that absolutely slays at web development. As a freelancer, I've often wondered what it would be like to ditch regularly scrambling for clients and join a team where I could focus more on the work, but I didn't feel like I really understood agencies or agency culture. We get into that and so much more in this episode!

Wondering what to do and what not to do in an interview? Jill has some examples! We also talk about what type of talent mid-sized marketing agencies, like Cypress North, are really looking for.

Many laughs were had and great tips given for moving forward in any career. Hope you enjoy!

Hiya! How's this year kicked off for you? It's been pretty shit for me! In this episode, I am honest about the fact that I didn't follow any of my prescribed steps for NYE resolutions in episode #17. BUT, I did find the letter I wrote to myself at the end of 2021 to read at the end of 2022 and I read it out loud for all of us!

I also talked about two of my favorite things I learned from one of my most favorite books - Atomic Habits by James Clear: habit staking and making a habit your identity.Ā

Hi hi! We are quickly approaching the end of 2022. Can. You. BELIEVE!? I barely can. But I cannot wait to sit down over the remaining weeks of this year and really reflect on all of it.Ā

In this very quick baby episode, I share a tradition my husband and I started back in 2018 as a joke, but now do at the end of every year with purpose behind it. This year I was more intentional about it than I've ever been, and I am so happy to report back that it actually paid off! I hope you give it a try.Ā

Also, I prerecorded this episode before shipping off to England and really truly thought it would be released on Dec 23rd. So apologies for the confusion there, lol. Cheers from Sunny Southport, UK!

This week we've got TWO guests! I asked my friend Lauren Turner if they would join me in the studio, and they brought along their friend, Raeann Materise! Lauren, Raeann and I talked about navigating friendships as adults with busy schedules and little time. We talked about knowing when it's time to walk away from a friendship and whether to let it be or have a breakup. We also talked about the role that intrinsic values play in choosing our long-term friends.

Another one with lots of laughs and tons of words of wisdom to take away. Enjoy!

On the podcast this week, we have Meredith Schork! Meredith and I knew each other in a past life as front of house staff at good old Carrabba's Italian Grille. Years later, she is now that Culinary Arts Coordinator at Community Services for Every1. We talked all about this cool organization, but what was especially cool is how she ended up here after many many years in the restaurant industry. Hello hello! I am thankful. I am thankful for this podcast, and to you for reading this! And even more so if you listen to this episode. Did I record this the night of Thanksgiving? Yes. Was I tipsy when I recorded this? Yes. Yes, I was. I shared something we have been dealing with over the last week with our little guy and his health. Talked about my frustration with the fact that I need to struggle to level up. And shared some of the things I'm grateful for this year.Ā

Like literally all of my other episodes, this is not perfect! But times ten because I recorded using my MacBook Pro built-in mic and it was post-Thanksgiving festivities.Ā  I wasn't about to skip it though... ya'll know that by now. Hope you enjoy. Cheers!

My guest on episode #11 was born on October 11. I see 1111 all the time, but I feel warm and grateful every single time I do. My college friend Tanner Gelatt joined me for this episode to talk about what brought him from Cooperstown to Buffalo, and led to him being one of the biggest Bills fans and Buffalovers I know. We also talked about how the chaos of this world became a catalyst for deciding to take control of his physical and emotional health with a new daily workout habit: spinning with Peloton. Y'all. You are really in for a treat this week, if I do say so myself. I was so honored to host Chef Tierra Josey and her wife, Lena Josey, to the studio this week! We talked about their ghost kitchen, SZN, and what the path looked like that led them to launch it. We discussed not letting other people's labels for you stop you from believing that you are capable of your dreams. We talked about the inspiration for one of their newest menu items - a peach cobbler egg roll, and consequently how it almost resulted in Chef Josey wearing sweatpants to their wedding. And we talked about the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded, positive, and ambitious thinkers. All this, and SO much more, with a ton of laughs in between. Happy listening!

EVERYONE! My guest this week is Harper Bishop!! He is a writer, photographer, community organizer, and activist. He has held roles at the Institute on Religion and Public Policy, Buffalo First, for Councilmember Michael J LoCurto, Coalition for Economic Justice, PUSH Buffalo, Our City Action Buffalo, and more. He co-founded, and is now a board member, for Cooperation Buffalo, an organization that trains and educates in cooperative economics and supports the start-up of worker-owned businesses.

In this episode, we talked about what it takes for a person to change their deeply rooted beliefs. Harper shared with us a broad overview of what it means to work as a community organizer and explained what poet and activist Audre Lorde meant when she said that no one lives "single-issue lives". He also shared about what it was like to meet AOC and work alongside India Walton during her incredible run for Buffalo Mayer in 2021. All this, and SO much more. Hope you enjoy!

I swear I did have a guest planned for this week! And actually, I got one. Just not the one I thought. Here's what you can expect: me reallyyyyy drilling it in that, in the words of Rick Astley, I'm never gonna give you up. And by you, I mean posting this podcast every week. But I also talk about the negative effects of choosing comfort over pushing ourselves. There's a time and a place for both... what time and place are you in now?

Then I called my sister! And she picked up. So I asked her what her dream life would be like in 5 years and it turned into a great chat about personal drive and how to get ourselves slowly, slowly to that ideal self.Ā  Hope you enjoy!

Lucky number 7! So sorry to be late getting this out, but literally nothing was going to stop me from posting it on Friday. Though many things tried! I kick off the episode by explaining why I had to get to the studio and record in spite of the fact that I was hanging on by a thread. And then I pose a challenge to you. Next, I asked on IG for folks to share their 'fail forward' stories of times when things didn't go the way they hoped or planned but it led to a much better outcome or a good lesson. I got some great stories that I hope you enjoy as much as I did. I also shared one of my stories from the beginning of my career in fundraising, and frankly, I still cringe when I think about it 😬. Thanks for the love, y'all!

Back again with another solo episode! This week I convince you (me) that I am not going to let myself skip posting a weekly podcast for a full year. For real. WE'RE IN IT TO WIN IT. I also shared more about my love for the Insight Timer app, including my favorite teacher on there, Kenneth Soares. I listen to this recording of his just about every single day. My 7-year-old listens to Max, Bee, & the Troll King sleep story every night, too. We both highly recommend! I also shared that Jax and I will often listen to kids affirmations on the way to school. I LOOOOOVE doing this with him in the morning! Here's the one we listen to in Spotify. I hope you feel inspired and find something that helps you after listening to this episode. Thanks, friends!

Is it normal for solo episodes to be scarier than episodes with a guest? My brain literally ping-ponged throughout this convo. Hopefully, it gives you a little insight into who's hosting this thing. I give a real quick and oddly professional timeline as if I am interviewing for a job. I also share the first ever voicemail my English hubby ever left me (it got him a first date), some things I've learned this year about myself and self-sabotage, and end with my own round of rapid-fire questions. Pour yourself a glass of wine for this one (it was my Birthday after all), and cheers to yourself because you're a star.

My girl, Ciara Rayshall, is our guest on the podcast this week! And she brought along one of the most adorable things she's ever made, if I do say so myself, her 6-month-old daughter, Kali. We talked being a mom in 2022, why it's so hard to justify doing nice things for yourself, and how we both struggle with giving ourselves permission to ask for help and the space to nurture our creativity. We talked about her poetry book, "In All the Ways", and about the turning point in her life that lead her to a unique and deeply personal relationship with God. Or should I say "Godbae"? Ciara is an actual ray of sunshine, and she has been inspiring women all over the globe with mantras, affirmations, and spiritual guidance and messages for years. I'm so honored to call her a friend and to share some of her story with you!

Ben Siegel is our guest on the podcast this week! Ben is many things, but we talked most about his identity as a writer. He has written over 500 pieces for The Buffalo News as a theatre and arts critic here in Buffalo, but he has much, much more inside of him. As the full-time Director of Communications for PUSH Buffalo, Ben talked about the challenges of balancing work and life responsibilities with carving out creative time for yourself. He shared some of his sources of inspiration and gave a humbling peak into what his creative process looks like (hint: it's messy and takes a while... thank goodness we're not the only ones). Do you consider yourself a writer or creator? I think this luxurious conversation will resonate with you too.

Ben curated a special playlist to listen to post-podcast. Listen on Spotify here!

Sam Scarcello is the guest on the podcast today! Sam is the Head baker and one of two partners at Public Espresso + Coffee. Sam's career path has been anything but linear, going from used book thrifting, to farmers market tabling, to working in a marketing agency, to now running a business with 40+ staff members. Plus he makes a mean cruller. We talked about how he and his partner, James Rayburg, got Public Espresso started, how he went from handling the branding and marketing side of the business to running the bakery and food operations, and what the long-term goal is for him both personally and professionally. And so much more!!

Here is it! Podcast number TWO. Let me tell you all the reasons I almost didn't post it:
1. The editing is shottier than last time.
2. It turns out the library's studio is not quite soundproof. Sorry about the background talk/noise, UGH!!
3. I thought of 17 other better questions to ask and responses to have after we stopped recording.
4. I didn't have time to listen to the full episode again after 1 round of editing. SCARED.

And here is why I posted it anyway: we're all just trying to figure it out, and if we wait until things are perfect, we'll be dead. So here we go! Please bear with me as I fine-tune my podcaster skills along the way.

Here is it! Podcast number ONE. Let me tell you all the reasons I almost didn't post it:
1. The editing is shotty.
2. There is no jingle at the beginning or end.
3. In fact there is no music at all. Should I get some?
4. I don't really tell you much about myself. But we will get to know each other as we go on here.
5. I'm not crazy about my podcast art yet. Any graphic designers wanna help me out?
6. I'm scared of being judged and that it isn't good enough.
