In this message, Sam and Josh get back together after a semester hiatus to get things started for this next year with a Christmas message. This message, designed as a nod to last year's Christmas message, focuses on the importance of the incarnation of Christ. This is what the celebration of Christ's birth, what we call Christmas, really is.

Summer Series Message 1

In this message, Josh finishes up this last online series on callings before we get things started up this summer. This message focuses on the less desirable side of following God's call on our life. We might have an idea of what we want God's call to be, but our worldly desires and God's will for us do not align. In our call, we will be asked to sacrifice for the sake of God. Yet, all this should pale in comparison to knowing Christ our Savior.

In this message Josh details the call of Moses and the conversation between Moses and God. God expresses His ultimate sovereignty so that Moses might be equipped and confident in fulfilling his call. Moses' response to God's call is one that expresses how we might respond when we feel like an inadequate individual to fulfill God's call.

The Root Gospel Ministries Message 24 | 6-1
In this message, Josh groups callings into two main categories: calls for the entire body of Christ and calls to specific body parts of the greater body of Christ. First, he looks closer at a few calls to the greater body, and then at specific "body parts." This message in no way will tell you what your calling is, but it is designed to be a helpful tool for you to discern your own call. In the remainder of the series, Josh will go through the accounts of the calls of different characters in the Bible.
In the message Josh talks about spiritual gifts. Some passages that are good resources when working with spiritual gifts are 1 Peter 4:10 and 1 Corinthians 12:4-7. If you want to know what your spiritual gifts might be I recommend the test linked below. Make sure to pray about your results, and seek affirmation and guidance from Christians around you. The test isn't perfect, but it is very helpful in our opinion here at The Root.
