In this episode we have a special guest host, Emily Bahr. Emily helps us to summarize and highlight the 11 episodes of HAMcast from 2021 and also reminds us of the teacher interviews that took place over the summer. Join us for a fun peek back at 2021.
In this episode we will discuss creating a workflow that allows you to use your time effectively and also promote student success, which sometimes means taking more time during the design process. Designing curriculum is time intensive and should not be rushed. Use the resources around you (TLs, PLC teams, and the PD team) when you hit a road block. Most of all, remember that our goal is student success and that well designed curriculum will help your students.
Julie Price is entering her 3rd year as the principal of East Shore Online. Julie has been with Alpine School district since the beginning of her career. Much of her career has been focused on special education and helping students to succeed. Take a few moments to get to know Julie a little better.
In this episode we discuss a student-centered focus when designing curriculum. Haylee introduces the district's vision for learning and how we can apply it in our teaching. Then Abby, Haylee and Matney take a look at the article, "Shaping the Futures of Learning in the Digital Age - Designing Learning Experiences for the Future of Learning in the Digital Age: A Proposed Framework" by Derek Thurber of Arizona State University. To sum things up, we introduce a book called Thrive Online which will help guide our professional development this year.

Meet Monica Hokanson. Monica is East Shore's newest teacher and has joined the Math Team. She is currently teaching Mathematics of Personal Finance and one unit of Secondary Math I. Take a few minutes to get to know Monica a little better.
