“Podcast with Tobean” is an extension of an ongoing healing project titled ‘Spiral Take and Release” . It is aimed at sharing thoughtful conversations I have with conscious human beings and artists I interact with regularly in the Lagos scene. What does it mean for human beings to treat each other as humans first as opposed to any and all other identities we subscribe to in today’s society.
In this introductory session, Itunu and I discuss some of the parameters that contributed and sometimes controlled the dynamism that is existential in our 24 year long sibling relationship. Examples of these factors include, our gender differences, age gap, geographical separation, our biological and foster parent’s perspective of whom we were(are), our differing perceptions of the world whilst under guardianship during our early years and now. These parameters are essential to understanding how we feel about each other as siblings and humans.
Queer resilience with pride is “Queer Civilization”. In this special (pride-month)episode of #PodcastwithTobean, 5 queer human beings navigating the world and the Lagos, Nigeria scene commune and share their unique stories and somewhat generic experiences. We held space for each other emotionally, intelligently and celebrated the camaraderie of our spirits and essence.
