Hello my lovelies, On this episode, I enjoyed having a conversation with Steph Kapela who more than anything I admire for owning his story, a thing I feel majority of us young people need to do. Its something I am embracing and hopefully, I get to see the other side of this story. I am more than happy to give you front seats to my cycles. Embrace YOUR cycles!

I've been away three weeks and I've missed speaking to you guys the most. On this episode, I have Aisha (my favorite girl) and Hillie (my partner in word hunt).

On here, we get very candid about whether social media popularity has changed how we see ourselves and relate to others, we also recollect how and when we realized our following was expanding and what we made out of the situation. My girls also acknowledged pretty privilege and we gave the pros and cons of social media as we know it now and a whole lot of relatable stories. Dive in and enjoy!

On this episode, Sandra, Aisha and I talk about the Kitchen! From Hilda's ground-breaking achievement to rating our skills in the kitchen and how we genuinely feel about cooking as a chore! We also jumped into the friend zone to see why this happens, if its fatal and recollected some of the times we've been on the other end of the spectrum hahaha, you are not ready for mine!

I had a blast with the ladies and I hope you do too as you listen in.

On this episode, I get into relatable bad habits that I have. I also don't know if anyone else throws around the word toxic like I do haha, mazoea yana taabu!

I'd love to hear if you relate to any and some of your own.

Also, Cycles is 1 now (technically 2 launched in 2021) But I commemorate this because its one year of back to back dedication, panic, confusion, hope and outright grit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm might be ready to have kids seeing as I have kept this alive this long hahaha.

Thank you soooo much for being here with me!

Hey Lovelies,

Have y'all been watching the news? depression galore. What is going on in our country>>>>

Anyway,

On this episode we went on a wishing expedition haha! We had a list of things we wished were different or we were ready for before we experienced them. This episode came at such a good time for me, I literally wanted to hug Aisha all through it. As we talked, I gained perspective and even though I didn't contextualize some of my wishes, I felt a huge load fall off my shoulders. This episode reminded me why Cycles Podcast exists.

I am sending you all my hugs and biggest kisses as you navigate your own Cycles. Be compassionate with yourself, ride the waves and let time do its thing.

Hey People, before we even proceed which side of the great divide are you? Millennial or Gen Z? I ask because its getting tough haha. Anyway here at Cycles we love everybody because life is life and this conversation with Eli was an attempt at shining light on a middle ground between the two polarized generations. As the awesome people we are we decided to give you a show at the end of the episode, but I must warn you, one of us was off pitch, off key and will definitely cost you your ear drums, Can you already guess who? Run the episode to be sure! Nawapenda Sana!

On this episode, I have a sit down with the Benga King himself, Winyo Shiphton. His stage name in English means bird, a name he got from his mother because of how beautifully he sings, (check out his music test it for yourself). We talk about his music crossing borders despite being in vernacular, we also dissect one particular song I absolutely love that touches on a social issue that cuts across generations, finally, we talked about his upcoming projects and his future plans for the young artists looking to follow his footsteps or be better. Tune in

Helloo there, No doubt everybody changes at some point these changes sip right into different facets of our lives i.e relationships. To be honest, not all change is bad, but on the other hand some change is trickyyyy and calls for immediate action/attention. So how do you know your relationship is on its death bed? Hillie and I share some of the obvious signs you are dating yourself and I'd like to hear yours haha! Also, as you listen remember no two experiences are the same, it could just be a glitch on your story so don't think to hard, address the problem and then decide but again when you know, you know. Hey there! I don't know about you but in this season of my life, I have seen pepper, milk and honey all in equal measure. I wanted to share this to help somebody who is beating themselves up with regards to where they are at most especially, my peeps in their early twenties, if you are older, I know you remember how everything was. The only thing I am not sure about is whether the script is strictly similar but I know there are a few constants and that's what I share with you today. Sending you all my love as you traverse your Cycles. You are not alone, You've never been!

Hey, Do you ever look at someone and think damn, I wish I was I could speak like them, make friends like them or even have the job they do. I know I have and the secret to that is unfettered confidence, its not always easy getting to a point where you are comfortable in who you are but once you get there, the possibilities are endless especially as a young person. Confidence can get you in rooms you didn't think you'd fit, it can also get you the boy or girl you think is out of your reach haahaa ;p. Here I share 5 ways you could start working through your confidence, I hope they carry you through this cycle. I see you and I love you... thank you for listening..... xoxo

One of the most pivotal experiences in our life Cycle is Dating. It can be both splendid and horrid depending on your luck and how intentional you are. On this episode I shared 5 tips I think would be useful to somebody who is actively dating even if you are not, listen in might come in handy later haaaaaaaahaaaa. The most important one, and that I have to remind myself, is not to say Yes to every request, if it feels off it is off. All the best as you navigate this Cycle. I Love You =)

Friendship is one of the most beautiful human connections ever! I weep for myself every time I recall how I mishandled my previous friendships. But that's forgivable, when you're young, a lot is. I don't have much to say, because I am still on a learning curve, but  I do know a few things for sure, not everyone is worth being your friend, not everyone you befriend will stay and the friend to your friend is not ALWAYS your friend haha! and its all okay. All in all, find your tribe and when you do, love them openly, bravely and daily and incase it takes a little longer, there's nothing wrong with you give time time the universe will work its magic....... Your people/person will find you! xoxo

On this episode my high school friend and I recollect our experience. To be honest high school did a number on me, it tainted a lot of what I believed and at the same time opened me up to new realities. To date the 4 years were the wildest in my Cycle especially my relationship with self, God and others. On the flip side there were some damn good times, join in and listen to Analo and I on how we navigated. Remember to be kind to yourself and to continue riding the waves! You got this...... Also if you went to PB sending you a hug...haha

There is no eventuality where this does not succeed- Mantalk.ke.

I need these words tatted on my forehead or something because I firmly believe in endless possibilities, not all the time but most times. Oscar and I talked about a lot, and he opened me up to the idea of therapy. We also talked a bit about toxic workplaces and what it looks like to live in the current times as young adults. He made a call to rethink employment as a means to grow and shared his experience as an associate at a top firm. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.

On this episode I got to engage the founder of one of the biggest podcasts in Nairobi. Tonio Kibz and Otwanito give us a glimpse of what its like to take risks amidst all the doubts and see results. Here is your sign to spread your wings, take a chance and allow yourself to fly. Do not be afraid to start out a new cycle of life, chances are, the Universe has your back. START!

I realized I haven't ever talked about the EP and the process behind it with you guys. Its going to sound like a rant which it technically is but not so much because we're good over here now. To be honest I know only so much about this specific human experience and if the current state of affairs is anything to go by then I'll gladly sit it out :). But again if you don't take anything from this episode, remember that, You are not your failures- detach your self worth from things that fail because its inevitable sometimes. Also, do the things that make you feel okay except screaming at 4 A.M, okay you can do that as well haha just don't hurt you or anyone else. And as you navigate this cycle, relax the waves will be calmer and the sun will shine again, For Sure!

'One thing I know for certain Maeve, is that nothing is for certain.' - Doris.

I don't know how I feel about relationships and love in general. Its messed up, but it doesn't have to be & in the same breath I don't know how its supposed to be. Could it be an age factor, am I too young? (laughs in 40 year old still grappling with this concept) are you too young? are you too old? Is there a right time?

This cycle of life will teach you things you never knew you needed to learn, it'll have you in pits you never knew existed and at the same time will give you highs you never want to come down from. If you don't take anything away from the episode, remember this, be gentle with yourself, take your time, when love comes knocking don't fight it and when it leaves let it.

I hate the word No, its so ugly, who even thought putting together such odd letters of the alphabet was a good idea? But you know what, I love what it teaches me, maybe not in that exact moment but overtime. I don't want to say much on here a I probably haven't even scratched the surface with the amount of No's I'll hear in my life. And to be quite honest, I don't know much about how to cope but I know a lot about moving on! Brace yourself dear listener, your Cycle may be full on No's beyond what you can fathom, but fret not, You Are not Alone :)

At some point we've all wondered whether staying in school was worth all the trouble. Some people continue to grapple with whether to relentlessly pursue their gifting or to remain in school, you know, for the sake of it. Dan and I reflect on the education system in Kenya and try to find middle ground for people who cannot resolve this dilemma. Hopefully the insight from this podcast provides a semblance of clarity to anyone facing this difficult decision as they navigate their life cycles. Enjoy!

A lot of times the voices in our heads are stronger and louder than we can bear. We convince ourselves of things that are not real despite the existence of evidence affirming the contrary. through this episode I want to reassure you that it is normal to question yourself, it is okay to wonder sometimes, but its not okay to own up to the false truths our minds conjure out of fear, anxiety and self-doubt. So as you walk through your unique path and move along your cycles always remember , You are magic! Own IT.

At the time this episode goes up, it will be two months since the sudden demise of my beloved father. I miss him with every fiber of my being, the whole family does. I felt it right to let you in on this stage of my life as a way to heal myself and connect with many of you going through the same thing as well. I can't take anyone's pain away, neither can I mine but I can encourage you to feel it. Ride the waves as they come and maybe one day, the seas won't be as rough. Sending you all hugs and kisses as you navigate your Cycles.

This episode reflects on how crucial it is to embrace beginnings. It delves into the beginning of my music journey that has got me to where I am now. It also reminds us to just START that which we desire without too much focus on the hurdles and barriers surrounding us. I hope this episode inspires you to Start, Restart and keep going.
