~~Evil Dead 2 - 9 like I said in the first episode, I usually watch all 3 of these movies back to back, and I always thought 2 was my favorite in this series. I was keeping my 10 for this one, but I think I like the first one more. Don’t get me wrong, 2 is great. It’s lots of fun, it has all the iconic lines in it that you want, and it moves like a bullet. But it’s also really stupid. I don’t know, this year I might want to be scared more than entertained, this one didn’t hit me like it usually does, and I think the first one is my favorite. If you’re looking for something to watch to be entertained, this would be my recommendation, though.~~

~~Satanic Panic - 9 This one gets better every time I watch it. Another Fangoria presents, which I forgot, bit it has all the trappings of it. Awesome, graphic, original deaths (drilldo), all practical effects that look great (even the lady drowning is better as that obvious prop head than if it would have been her real face with cgi water). Moves pretty quickly, nice setup with all the deliveries, seeing her get stuffed on the tips, good use of class in this movie. Very solid~~

~~Freddy vs. Jason - 4 I remembered really liking this, but I think people were right. This movie is boring, the kills are basic. Even the cornfield rave is too short, and a flaming Jason is just slashing people in the chest. This is a full length fan film.~~

~~The Wailing - 10 Requested by Kell. I was originally thrown off by the 2 hr 40 minute run time, but this thing is a horror masterpiece. Perfectly paced, beautifully shot, and the tension is built up slowly, but with intense scenes placed in the perfect spots as to not make it boring. I thought it was going to be a zombie movie, then I thought it was a witch movie, then i thought it was a ghost movie, and I was both right and wrong about it all at the same time. Great kid actor. Like Babadook, it built up the tension perfectly, but unlike Babadook, it doesn't shit the bed in the last 5 minutes~~

~~A Field in England - 6 Requested by Dylan Terry 2 groups of men, scruffy long haired blonde men, and scruffy long haired brunette men walk for a while, then find another scruffy long haired guy, tie him up, he leads them to a treasure. Every once in a while they stop to pose like a renaissance painting. Then they get pissed on and one of them gets shot and dies. One of them hallucinates a giant ball of smoke because he eats mushrooms(?) There's a strobing final battle(?) With nauseating strobe effects, then it gets windy and makes all the scruffy gentlemen talk in very bad ADR. One of them was a secret Satanist(?) I think I saw some kids playing soccer in the background of one of these shots. I have no idea what I watched, but I know one thing, between this, Porno, and The Greasy Strangler, I've seen enough disgusting malformed dick prosthetics to last me a lifetime.~~

~~Demonic - 2 the tale of 2 Kristen Stewart's, 3 Robert Pattensons, and a James Wan investigating a haunted house where one of the Robert Pattensons mother was the sole survivor of a massacre years ago. It starts off as a mixture of a police investigation and found footage, goes to a mixture of an interrogation and a police chase, and ends in the most stereotypical horror movie ending you could imagine. It's too disjointed to be enjoyable as a story, and the characters are undeveloped and unlikable. There is definitely James Wan's hand in this, but it's all the worst parts of his movies jammed into an hour and 25 minutes that feels like 4 hours. If it would have had the gore of Saw or the atmosphere of The Conjuring, it would have been way better, but you see none of the kills, and spend too much time dicking around with the police investigation to get the haunted house atmosphere. It's not boring, bit it feels pointless.~~

~~Sundown - Requested by Jay Philip 7 vampires living in the desert, using spf 100 sunscreen and manufactured blood to keep up appearances that they're normal people. Pretty stupid premise, lots of failed attempts at humor, "Modulac" is the worst attempt at covering up "Dracula" since "Alucard". For being a vampire western, this thing is kind of a snooze in the middle. But, David Carodine as Dracula, and Bruce Campbell as Van Helsing save the movie. Bruce is really Ashing it up in this movie. Add M. Emmet Walsch and Bobby from Twin Peaks, there's enough here to keep you entertained~~.

~~Malignant - Requested by Nick Milotti and like 9 other people 8 Kind of a predictable “possession” movie, but entertaining enough to not be terrible. A little too long, but it moved at a decent pace so as to not be boring. Could have used more practical effects instead of the cgi, because when the cgi is overused, it looks like absolute dog shit. The individual kills are pretty creepy and brutal, but the action sequences are pretty ugly. The prison cell sequence is pretty cool, but the police station massacre for the most part looks really bad. Once they start using Emily’s face with the killer, it really starts looking cheesy. Could have looked like it fit right in in the late 70s had it been shot on film and had practical effects~~

~~Willy's Wonderland - 8 This one is really dumb, but really fun. Nic Cage doesn't say a word, which works for the most part, but there's a couple of times that a 1 liner or even 1 word would have been appropriate. I love how he goes to take his breaks no matter what else is happening.~~

~~Porno - 6 This one could have been way better, it was a pretty generic by the books horror movie, kinda cool kills, far too much time spent on someone who got his testicles exploded getting them tied off by a shoelace, and then he's miraculously able to run and jump around immediately. Character twists were predictable, but it was fun enough~~

~~Slaxx - 8 I picked this Shudder original because it was short and looked stupid, and it was. But what it also was was a surprisingly biting look at capitalism, consumerism, unsafe working conditions, and how we're trained to do our jobs no matter what. I had this lower until the last shot where she survives the night, but is trampled to death by people trying to get the new line of clothing. Kinda brilliant.~~

~~Let's Scare Julie - 1 I watched this so you don't have to. There is nothing to this movie. If there is anything interesting that happens, it's off screen. The entire first act is fake teenage girl talking, the rest of the movie takes place on phone calls. Not sure what atmosphere they were going for, but they failed miserably. There's a voodoo(?) Doll that keeps showing up, but you don't know why. The whole movie is trying to avoid people, but everyone is always being loud and using flashlights, it makes no sense. This movie is miserable, avoid at all costs.~~

~~Killer Sofa (Dybbuk) - 5 this one was very strange. A very dumb possessed inanimate object movie that turns into a not possessed inanimate object movie that turns into a very possessed inanimate object movie. For the first ¾ nothing happens, then a bunch of stuff is paid off at the very ass end of the movie. You spend the entire movie thinking it's supernatural, then they do a non supernatural twist, then it goes back to supernatural, and I have to be honest, even though it was very stupid, the ending brought it up 2 reels. Don't seek this one out, but if you find yourself with a free hour and a half, there are worse ways to spend it.~~

~~NotLD remake - 8 Much better than I remembered. Up until the ¾ mark, almost a shot for shot remake of the original. Tony Todd is great as Ben. Barbara getting a better character arc than being scared then being dead is great, but she is inconsistent throughout. I didn't love Ben getting turned into a zombie before he was killed, but I did like Cooper not getting turned, and meeting his fate while he was still alive. The zombie effects were also top notch~~

~~Blood Beat (mystical boinging) - 5 This one is pretty terrible and incomprehensible. Sarah seems to be able to control the samurai in some of the scenes, she knows what it's doing in some of the scenes, and sometimes it's just doing its own thing. But whenever it kills someone, it makes her horny??? This thing reeks of people behind the camera not caring. The first corpse you see is blinking, windows are opening and closing all over the place, people's haircuts change in the middle of scenes, and the last shot is filmed on a noticeably different camera with I think different actors. Second day in a row someone escapes by jumping out a window, and then running away unscathed.~~

~~Killer Workout - 4 I think this one started it's life as a porno. Lots of gratuitous nudity, and closeups on women doing aerobics. For a gym based horror movie, we're using a giant safety pin as the murder weapon which makes no sense. The twist makes no sense because we see a figure after some of the murders running away, and it's clearly a big bulky man, and we also see her body, and it's not burned until that reveal. There are also a bunch of fight scenes that are pointless, boring, and poorly choreographed.~~

~~Evil Dead - 9 I always watch all 3 Evil Dead movies together, so I forget that this one is a straight horror movie, and it is a straight horror. This thing is HARROWING, especially Cheryl's part. The makeup and effects are cheesy and don't hold up to HD, but the way the movie is made really holds up. Sam Rami is a brilliant director, all the way from his first movie.~~
