Hello friends, Welcome to our latest episode of Kathopokathan. We all had been busy in Puja season and in the World cup cricket fever. Although our high hopes crashed in the finals but in real life we are always hopeful and try new things in our life. Such is the passion of Sambuddha Chakrabarti aka Abhra of HS2002. I had connected with him and spent long hours discussing many topics but the most wonderful thing that fascinated me on how one person can glide seamlessly between many hobbies and passion. Abhra is a research associated in Princeton, one of the top and most respected universities in the world. Today we talked about his research, "Net-zero greenhouse emission" and on power system economics and optimization. In the same time, we found how his love for Tango and Indian classical music pulled him into a different world and made him quite an accomplished performer in a very short time. He says he is novice but while we only dream about our unfilled wishes, Abhra is on a journey to make his life beautiful in both arts and science. The other aspect, we could not discuss was his culinary skills. He keeps sending me beautiful pictures of authentic Bengali dishes - Sorshe Illish, Lau Chingri, Creamy Chicken Gravy and what not!! Also, of many things that we have missed, is his ability to remember the exact dates of an event. He will tell you the date/time and the event so precisely that you would think that he is referring a diary/a journal to talk about that event. Hello Shishubiharians, Welcome to our new episode of Kathopokathan. Summer is gone, rain is cooling mother Earth. While we were enjoying the beautiful recitations, songs, original poems and art creativities, I had some time to sit down with Kushal Roy, who started in Shishubihar in 1966. Allthough Kushalda spent a short stint in Shishubihar but his roots and bonds remains very strong till date. Kushal-da specialized in International business from IIFT and is an weathered Exports and International market development leader. He has extensively traveled the entire length and breadth of the globe , with more than 25 countries in Africa itself which is almost half of that continent! He traveled to the countries where many may not have ventured. I could not keep count of the name of the countries and places that he mentioned but that certainly would aggravate ones urge to travel Africa.He is a great singer and an accomplished actor as well, looks like that passion came from being a fairy in the "Sleeping beauty"! Jokes apart, he is also philanthropist in nature, loves to spend his time helping older generation in time of need. Hello Shishubiharians, Welcome to our new episode of Kathopokathan. Spring has gone quietly, summer is scorching the earth. In between I had some time to sit down with another Shishubihar veteran. Today, I have Kaushik Roy Chowdhury of HS 2000 batch. He needs no introduction, a very accomplished singer, performer and lives the life to his fullest. He is a perfect example of - he who can cook and style his hair too (যে রাধে, সে চুলও বাধে 😀) Kaushik is a charmer, good in studies, done his MBA and all but chose to follow his passion of music. Today although it is his bread and butter but more than that, it is his love of life through which he brings pure joy to his patrons. He had transitioned from Indian Classical to Rabindrasangeet to Sufi and Bollywood, Kaushik is always breaking and building, exploring, discovering, experiencing music. Do not fail to capture the vocalization of "Brrrr" and "Kach kach" memories from school days. I am sure, you will enjoy and laugh along. Also capture the spirit of Shishubihar from far away Newzealand, on how he was greeted with love and affection by late Nabaran Chakraborty, beloved son of our Himani aunty. Hello Shishubiharians, Subho Nabararsho 1430! Welcome to our next episode of Kathopokathan. Last few days had been busy and I have a quite a few friends who have agreed to come over in Kathopokathan. I am anticipating new and exciting stories in near future. But today I captured journey of a multi-faceted persona, an engineer by profession and singer/author by heart. She chose the path of her likings more than her job and is very happy doing so. My guest, today, is Sudeshna Bhattacharya of 1990 batch. I know her from childhood and is known as Mou to most everyone. Being a daughter of one of the prominent harbingers of Radindranath's heritage in Tripura, her past was soaked in culture and extra-curricular activities. She talked about her sweet childhood & school days. After graduation and doing her bit in the industry, she now pursues her passion of singing, content development that needs deep research in unknown topics. She is also very passionate for long lost or lesser known handloom and handicraft products, especially Sari's from different looms of different background and promotes them to help in their survival. Hello Shishubiharians, Welcome to our next episode of Kathopokathan. I am back after a long time with interesting memories of schoolmates as before. Today I have CIO and an operating partner at HighGround (a Private Equity Platform Company), Prasun Chakraborty of HS 1996 batch. I spent a lazy afternoon chatting with Prasun on his journey. It was a pleasant chit-chat about his childhood days from Shishu Bihar to a very serious workplace and his current trade. Prasun walks us through his exciting world and tells us about generating enterprise value, how to create new opportunities and business, makes us aware of a new world and the possibilities that one can explore and grow. Quite a talker (to his customers) but personally a very humble and cool Shishu Bihar-ian at his core. Subho Nababarsha Bangla 1429 🙏.... In our latest episode of Kathopokathan, we have a globe trotter, who says she is paid for talking. And, by God, she talks incessantly. She studied in Shishubihar from 1983 to 1998, chose an unique profession of travel and tourism, went around the world. A bubbly travel and tour consultant with whom I enjoyed chatting over a weekend. She also spends her time with the needy and contributes her time for the social cause. Here is the unique journey of Srilekha Chaudhuri from the Himalayas to Alaska; to Monte Carlo, Venice, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Cadiz, Bergen, Reykjavík, Cannes, Nice and the Caribbeans while working in princess cruises or Cox and Kings. In the intro picture, see her rowing a boat in Varanasi. She said, it was tough but was lots of fun. A fearless free spirit, nothing can stop her, be it an Alaskan grizzly or be it Mumbai goons! It seems she enjoyed her time in school to the fullest and continues to do the same in her professional life too. Dear friends, welcome to our next episode of Kathopokathan. On the eve of International Women's day 2022, it was a pleasure to connect with another long time Shishubiharian from the batch of HS1987. She says she was an introvert in school but you will never realize that when she speaks and takes us down the memories of school and her professional life. She, Srabani Chakrabarti, is in the field of medicine, an MD, a senior consultant Histopathologist who has to work under significant stress and have huge responsibility to save human lives everyday. She is also a national level quality assessor of NABL and NABH; leads and helps certify many labs and hospitals across the country. Despite her busy life, she practices music, a prolific Rabindrasangeet singer. I am sure, you will enjoy listening to both sides of her story. But as you know, it is always a difficult task to get hold of the fairer gender of Shishubihar, nobody can disgree. Anyhow, today I have one of Panchapandavs of Shishubihar. She is our beloved Rumadi. Rumadi started her journey from Nursery till class 10 in Shishubihar and is now settled in Bangalore. After Shishubihar, he left his mark in IIT-Kharagpur, Georgia Tech and in Stanford University. While he excelled in studies, in his field and have more than 20 patents in his domain, he found his passion in the industry as a venture capitalist. Today he is a managing director of Nexus Venture Partners where he helps hundreds of entrepreneurs to fulfill their dreams. He is also board member of various prestigious institutions. Hello all, Welcome to our next episode of Kathopokathan. In this episode, we are honored to have dear Kamal-da, Kamal Nath as my guest. Who doesn't know about him? But I bet you do not know, how he rose to the top as CEO of Sify, how he draws his energy from the game of football that drove his strategy to win goals in his journey. It was a privilege to have Kamal-da's time but listen to our conversation; it is such a beautiful adda, as if we were chatting across a coffee table at the end of day reminiscing the good old days. Kamal-da tells us his story after school and journey to the top. Offline we had chatted about state of our industry as well. Hope we come out of the "state of satisfactory underperformance", an interesting term coined by Kamal-da. When I interviewed Kamal-da, he was just recovering from the Covid infection. Dear friends, welcome to our 7th episode of Kathopokathan. Today I have dear friend Jayanta Kumar Banerjee from Portland, Oregon. He spent only a few years in Shishubihar but he shone like a bright star in all aspects that influenced many and mesmerized all. A brilliant student, a great sportsman - both in cricket and football, a reciter, and a great stage artist (dramatics). He was a topper in the board and became skipper of the cricket team in JU. We didn't know a hidden talent of his in school days which he himself discovered in the university days. Let's hear his journey and enjoy. In his journey, we will also know how our teachers mentor students in not only the studies but to develop other skills and prepare us for the future. Hats off to our teachers! More we say about him is less. A favorite of Niva aunty, Nisha aunty (with due respect), he didn't leave a single thing in peace at school with his cohorts. Although, when his quota was over, he demonstrated how one can influence world's uncharted domains in ingenious ways. One of the early biotechnologists and an entrepreneur who is on a mission to make life saving drugs cheap and affordable in India and abroad while creating wealth for everyone. A prolific actor, an in-born artist and an amazing recitor. I am glad to capture a summary of Debayan's journey. Hope you all will enjoy. All we accept sportingly and feel glad.. thinking it as the time's silliest fad.... But like a sudden drop in the ocean bottom, how come these happen... A single madcap message, one's foolhardy deed unveil our blatant hypocrisy and leave it open..
Suddenly hundred dreams die, thousand friends become foes.. The child's bereft look at the sky... only seeks justice from the creator who has all the power he knows... "

Welcome to the fourth eposide of Kathopokathan. Hope you all had a great time during Durga Puja, Lakhsmi Puja. After a little break, today we have another veteran, Suman Rakshit, from Agartala. I am told he played a big role in creating our beloved Shishubihar alumni about 10 years ago. It is an amazing story of Alumni that was started to retain the uniqueness, integrity and the very foundational idea of gender equality in Shishubihar. The Alumni, as we all know, is doing great service for the needy in and out of Tripura. Wishing all the best to Suman, our Alumni office bearers and all the members especially the young bloods who is pushing very hard to serve the community despite various challenges.
