I like to believe God is working behind the scenes so I don't have to. He is perfectly molding my future and has a plan and I get to trust his plan. My job is to have faith that my current circumstances are not God's end goal and there is something so much bigger that will be revealed in his time.

Bienvenidos al Effortless Being Podcast.
Welcome to the effortless being podcast, (formerly known as the "habit your way with Dean" podcast) where being and love are a default. I am grateful for your support in the Habit your way with Dean podcast and am excited to grow with you through the Effortless Being podcast.
Are you relying on motivation to do the thing you said you were going to do? The thing with motivation is that it leaves you a victim of life because it’s a feeling that comes and goes. Discipline on the other hand, takes accountability and creates the life they want. You’re not lazy! You are simply waiting for a new condition (feel happy, joy, inspired) to happen before you show up for yourself . Whether this is about finding peace, losing weight, bettering your relationship with food, starting a business, or unlearning unhelpful habits, you are worthy and you are capable of building the life you desire.
You're always one decision away from the life you want. What does this mean? Wherever you are in life, whether that is where you want to be or not, you are there because of the decisions you have made in the past. In order to get to where you want to be, you have to make different decisions- you have to choose to show up for yourself. Life will always let you decide and the decision you choose will always either stray you away from what you want or bring you closer.

We have learned that in order to be vulnerable we have to confess our deepest sorrows to the people around us. This is a way of being vulnerable and receiving and giving compassion. However, I invite you to look at vulnerability differently. You can be vulnerable by telling people the things that make you excited, the things you love, by saying "I love you" when saying bye to your loved ones You could be vulnerable by telling people the things that hurt you, and allowing them to tell you the things that hurt them, and simply give them the space and listen. You could be vulnerable by being your authentic self and allowing others to in turn be themselves around you. Vulnerability is love and it is compassion and we all deserve to be vulnerable and allow others to be vulnerable around us.
Anger is a secondary emotion. A lot of times we think we are angry, but we are really just in pain and scared. This episodes gives a deep dive on "anger" and how to heal it.
I always hear people complain about the winter coming and how they feel heavier during this time of year. As someone who sometimes feels heavy during this time of year as well, I am here to tell you that this is something that you could heal . I hope you find the awareness and tools necessary to heal this in this episode.
Some say Emotional Intelligence is more important than IQ for the overall success in ones life. I agree. I believe emotional intelligence itself can solve many of the lingering problems we face. This is your emotional intelligence guide.
What do you think would happen if one tall pillar began to lean on another pillar? Correct, both pillars might fall! The same happens in our relationships. If we lean too much on those we are in a relationship with, whether it's a friendship, romantic relationship, or a relationship with family members, the relationship might fall. This episode is a reminder that you only need yourself to be happy. Other people do not have the ability to make us happy. They can only add to our happiness, but you are your main source of happiness.
Most of the time we allow our past to dictate our lives. If I have been a certain way for years, what makes me think I am able to change all of a sudden? This episode is a reminder that you can make the decision to change whenever you want. You are to be trusted.
I know how powerless you may feel when overcoming things like addiction and an eating disorder. You may feel like you'll never be able to "stop" doing the thing you're doing, but I am here to give you more insight based on my experience as I overcame both,
Have you ever felt such strong emotions after a situation and wanted to respond in that moment because you thought the feelings were due to that specific moment? Me too! However, this episode explains that if you are hysterical (in this case, have intense feelings), then you you are not being activated by what happed right in front of you rather than something that happened in the past.
I have had many ups and downs throughout my healing journey. I am constantly learning and evolving every second of every day and my healing journey looks completely different than it did a couple months ago. Here are four things I have learned as I have evolved in my journey!
Growing up, a lot of people developed the belief that they have to work for rest. They believe that if they don't achieve a certain goal, then they are not able to rest. As adults, this manifests as overworking oneself to feel worthy of "a break" or rest. The truth is that rest isn't earned or achieved and despite those beliefs we learned as kids, we could develop new beliefs that align with who we want to become now. Give yourself the permission to rest. You might feel guilt and fear when allowing yourself to do this and that is okay! Remember to observe and let go of those uncomfortable feelings.
Do you ever find yourself asking why you're feeling a certain way? You may feel frustrated with yourself because you're feeling a certain feeling you thought you had mastered. If so, you are not alone! Up until a month ago, I thought I was a pro at feeling my emotions and I later found that I did not know as much as I thought I did. What I have come to learn is that just because I am feeling a certain feeling I thought I would NEVER feel again does not mean I am not healing, it just means I am human and need to mature in the feeling. In this episode, I will be teaching you some of the new things I have learned in my emotional intelligence journey.
This weeks episode is a bit different from my other episodes. I went on a retreat and in this episode I talk about my experience! Don't worry, if you are not religious, I think there are still many things you are able to take with you from this episode <3
We all have limiting beliefs, but if we don't become aware of them, they dictate our life. This episode is challenges you to become conscious of your limiting beliefs. With the simple awareness, these beliefs will no longer control your mind and will allow you to do and be what you actually want and not just live off the auto-piloted beliefs that were imposed on you in your childhood and throughout your life.
It is challenging for some to live in a household where family is unsupportive and even toxic. This episode helps you navigate through tough emotions that may come up when dealing with these types of family members.
We have been taught to carve out our future and focus on the future and past for much of our life. However, this episode talks about waking up from this autopilot and learning to live in the present moment.
This episode talks about how we often blame external circumstances such as events and people for our lack of inner peace. It is time we take responsibility and create our peace within instead of trying to control everything outside of us.
This episode talks about how sometimes we subconsciously take in other peoples feelings, thoughts, or behaviors as our own. This empathetic behavior leaves us feeling drained and makes us spiral. Learn to witness your outside and inside world without internalizing it.
This episode talks about how we don't trust in our abilities to make decisions for our life and often depend on others to make them for us. This leaves us thinking we are untrustworthy and lowers our self- confidence. It also tells you what to do instead.
In this episode, I want you to decide whether 2022 will be your year. Remember, we cannot control our circumstances, but we are able to make a conscious choice and choose our attitude in the new year.
This episode talks about why we compare ourselves to others and tools to help you stop doing this self-sabotaging behavior.
This episode talks about how we sometimes resist where we are in the moment because of our goals and aspirations and how to learn to accept where you are in the moment even if it is not where you want to be.
This episode talks about how most of us were taught that our needs did not matter and that other peoples needs were superior to ours. This episode teaches us how to set rules with ourselves to ensure we are able to cultivate inner peace by setting boundaries in our relationships and even in the workplace.
This episode talks about why we self- sabotage as human beings and how to stop. The reason we self- sabotage and hold ourselves back from reaching our goals is because we feel unworthy of reaching them and will therefore subconsciously do anything to stop us from reaching them.
This episode talks about how we as human beings have a wounded inner child. This means that when we were kids, we did not always receive the love we needed as kids or our needs were not met. This has manifested in our adult lives when we have an emotional reaction to people, events, or things. It is our responsibility to then be the wise inner parents we needed as kids now and heal our inner child.
