THE CHER SHOW is 35 smash hits, six decades of stardom, two rock-star husbands, a Grammy, an Oscar, an Emmy, and enough Tony Award-winning Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequin shortage in New York City, all in one unabashedly fabulous new musical that will have audiences dancing in the aisles!
Superstars come and go. Cher is forever. For six straight decades, only one unstoppable force has flat-out dominated popular culture - breaking down barriers, pushing boundaries and letting nothing and no one stand in her way. THE CHER SHOW is the Tony Award-winning musical of her story, and it’s packed with so much Cher that it takes three women to play her: the kid starting out, the glam pop star, and the icon.

A theatrical production’s sound design defines its overall atmosphere and its effectiveness at telling a story. It’s a critical component of the narrative and influences the audience’s perception of the play. Therefore, it’s essential to create sound effects and musical scores that communicate the story without overwhelming it or making it seem understated. The equipment used in this process, like speakers and microphones, are equally important as the sounds themselves.
So, what is theatre sound design, and how does it guide every aspect of a play? Keep reading to find out more about this art form.
Theatre sound design includes everything the audience hears, such as sound effects, music, props that generate noise and similar components. Effective and clear sound design is essential to creating an enjoyable listening experience for the theatre audience. Sound designers manage tasks like obtaining recorded or live sound effects, collaborating with the director on which sounds to use throughout the script and setting up the playback equipment within the venue.
The job duties vary for each sound designer and play, but they do a common array of things. These often involve making or remixing music and designing a sound system that works for each production. No two plays are exactly the same, and neither are the venues. Likewise, Illuminated Integration understands the need for unique sound design and specializes in creating original setups for sound solutions and audio remedies, including theatre environments.
Directionality is one of many significant components in sound design. The sound should originate from the same direction as the performers to provide a cohesive viewing and listening experience. This can be achieved using directional loudspeakers, which focus the sound to a specific area rather than spreading it across an expanse. Other essential elements of sound design include ambiance, voice-overs and Foley sounds.
What Does a Sound Engineer Do?
Sound engineers are audio professionals whose work is vital to the creation of movies, video games, concerts and albums. These skilled individuals choose or create music, dialogue and sound effects to deliver an impactful final product. If you're interested in a career in sound engineering, learning what this job entails can help you decide whether it's the right path for you.In this article, we define the role of a sound engineer, explain what sound engineers do, list important skills for these professionals, provide the average salary and job outlook for this career and share some tips for pursuing a sound engineering role.

Creating opportunities for young artists and performers in our Northern Ohio Community to participate in as many enriching, educational and empowering theatrical experiences as possible.
Trapped Toledo: Immersive theater differentiates itself from traditional theater by removing the stage and immersing audiences within the performance itself. Often, this is accomplished by using a specific location, allowing audiences to converse with the actors and interact with their surroundings, thereby breaking the fourth wall.
Fort Findlay Playhouse: OK peeps, if you haven't taken the time to go see a show at FFP, it's time you corrected that situation. Sam and Aeryn visit with us, to tell us everything about Fort Findlay Playhouse
Located a short walk from downtown Findlay, on the corner of Sandusky and S. West Streets, the Fort Findlay Playhouse is a non-profit organization that has been showcasing local talent and providing the area with high quality entertainment for more than 60 years.
Fort Findlay Playhouse operates with a core of highly talented and dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to produce 5 to 7 shows per year, including its regular five-show season and occasional Second Stage productions.
The Playhouse is funded largely through the generosity of its patrons, angels, and benefactors as well as the local businesses who advertise in our show program books.
Be More Chill: It's a pretty cool, pretty fun, pretty chill show, that's making its premier in our area, with Stone Productions. Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s BRIGHT STAR tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.

Vocal Coach: Micah Graber explains to us why Vocal training is an essential part of the Musical Theatre experience.
A vocal coach, also known as a voice coach (though this term often applies to those working with speech and communication rather than singing), is a music teacher, usually a piano accompanist, who helps singers prepare for a performance, often also helping them to improve their singing technique and take care of and develop their voice, but is not the same as a singing teacher (also called a "voice teacher"). Vocal coaches may give private music lessons or group workshops or masterclasses to singers. They may also coach singers who are rehearsing on stage, or who are singing during a recording session. Vocal coaches are used in both Classical music and in popular music styles such as rock and gospel. While some vocal coaches provide a range of instruction on singing techniques, others specialize in areas such as breathing techniques or diction and pronunciation.
Dance Choreography for Community Theatre: Bob Marzola sits down with Kyle and Ron, to discuss the specific joys and challenges associated with choreographing community theatre shows, that consist of multiple experience levels. I was bitten by the Musical Theatre bug in 3rd grade. My first show was Annie Warbucks where I played the littlest orphan Molly. My voice education started in middle school with private voice lessons to enhance my musical theatre love. This blossomed into a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre from Baldwin Wallace College-Conservatory of Music. I continued to specialize in Commercial Contemporary Music with the Voice Teacher Training Certification from New York Vocal Coaching while performing 8 shows a week in School of Rock on Broadway.
Continuing the quest for knowledge, I hold a Certificate of Distinction in Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Recently, I’ve attended levels I, II, and III Somatic Voicework™, The LoVetri Method. These programs gave me tools for vocal injury prevention and functional cross-training.
As a member of the NATS, PAVA, MTEA, and The Lessac Institute, I’ve mentored with Bel Canto Can Belto’s Mary Saunders-Barton, Complete Vocal Fitness’ Claudia Friedlander, and Soul Ingredient’s creator Trineice Robinson-Martin. My continuing education include masterclasses with Matt Edwards, Amanda Flynn, and The Singing Athlete’s Andrew Byrne.
But a voice without acting is just…boring! During repertoire work, I add in Laban techniques and Viewpoints to help singers create a fully realized piece.
Outside of the Private Voice studio, I am an adjunct Voice Instructor at Marymount Manhattan College and University of Wisconsin- Parkside in their Musical Theatre departments. I also teach masterclasses for various NYC Broadway based organization’s including Broadway Workshop, Broadway Classroom, and all over the country with local theatre programs. I made my directorial debut with the premiere of THE ADDAMS FAMILY Younger@Part Pilot Workshop.

What Does a Technical Theatre Director Do? Technical theatre directors oversee the operations of all technical equipment and systems during a performance, such as a music concert, theater show, play, or other artistic production. In this role, you manage the schedule and quality of the lights and sounds during the show, making sure they work properly and are turned on at the right time. You also collaborate with the set designers and technical professionals to build the set and scenery, construct props, and make the lighting design from the director or producer's vision drawings. During production, you may also offer advice about the feasibility of design ideas.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel.
The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be "Out There," observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful Romani woman, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the Roma – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.
A sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame an instant classic. Audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.

Based on the novel, The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop, Dåmn Yankees the Broadway mega-hit and winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, hits it out of the park! The winning score by Adler and Ross and a devilish book by George Abbot have made this sporty musical comedy a true American classic.
Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. As young baseball sensation, Joe Hardy, he transforms the hapless Washington Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life that he's left behind. Joe ultimately outsmarts Applegate, returns to his former self and shepherds the Senators to the World Series.
Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, Dåmn Yankees is a homerun hit, featuring all-American subject matter and an irreverent sense of humor.

A show that will continue to bring awareness, educate the audience members, and benefit AIDS Resource Center, Equitas Health-Toledo: Jaymes talks to Stage Door about Stone Production's upcoming show
In 1980s New York, a writer and his friends join forces to expose the truth about the emerging AIDs crisis to both the government and the gay community. During the early 1980s, Jewish-American writer and gay activist Ned Weeks struggles to pull together an organization focused on raising awareness about the fact that an unidentified disease is killing off an oddly specific group of people: gay men largely in New York City. Dr. Emma Brookner, a physician and survivor of polio, as a consequence of which she is using a wheelchair, is the most experienced with this strange new outbreak and bemoans the lack of medical knowledge on the illness, encouraging the abstinence of gay men for their own safety, since it is unknown yet even how the disease is spread. Ned, a patient and friend of Brookner, calls upon his lawyer brother, Ben, to help fund his crisis organization; however, Ben's attitude toward his brother is to give merely passive support, ultimately exposing his apparent homophobia. For the first time in his life, meanwhile, Ned falls in love, beginning a relationship with New York Times writer Felix Turner.

The protagonist Pippin and his father Charlemagne are characters derived from two real-life individuals of the early Middle Ages, though the plot is fictional and presents no historical accuracy regarding either. Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in the extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day. Awards: The 1973 nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won 4; the 2013 circus-themed revival was nominated for 10 Tony awards and won 4. Big Fish the Musical
Clay High School Limelighters will present the delightful hit musical, BIG FISH April 1, & 2 at 7:00 PM, and April 3 at 3:00 PM. Adapted from the celebrated 1998 novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH the musical celebrates the extraordinary in everyday life.
BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, doesn’t think there’s any truth to the extravagant tales of his father meeting witches, kissing mermaids or joining the circus. When Edward’s health begins to decline, Will must decide whether to accept his father’s wild stories as truth or risk losing what he is searching for. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH is an endearing, heart-touching musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre—for an experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.
Reserved seating tickets are available at claylimelighters.org. Adults $12, Seniors and Students $10. Only General Admission tickets will be available at the door.

In its typical creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky fashion, the ghoulish Addams family is visiting the graveyard for an annual gathering of all family members, living dead, and undecided, to celebrate what it is to be an Addams. However, the family encounters an unforeseen obstacle when Wednesday decides to introduce her new “normal” boyfriend Lucas to the family. In protest, Uncle Fester enlists the help of the Addams’ ancestors to call an end to the young budding romance. As Wednesday admits that she is falling in love, Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley worry about her changing ways. As the families of Wednesday and Lucas come together for dinner one fateful evening, chaos ensues and the two families find themselves admitting deep secrets and coming together in ways they never would have imagined. The Addams Family Broadway Musical tells the story of love and friendship through adversity, with a comical and macabre yet poignant spin.

Based on the 2007 film of the same name, written by Adrienne Shelly, the musical tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a waitress in an unhappy marriage to her husband Earl. When Jenna unexpectedly becomes pregnant she begins an affair with her gynecologist Dr. Jim Pomatter. Looking for ways out she sees a pie contest and its grand prize as her chance.
Dawn is the “shy and quirky” type, who longs for a true love. Marzetta’s so infectious and endearing as Dawn, that she could easily teach a master’s class. She lands the one-liners with ease, which put smiles on the audience’s faces.” -Adrian Gomez (Albuquerque Journal)
Gabriella Marzetta
https://gabriellamarzetta.com/
Gabriella is a versatile actor/singer/dancer with a wellspring of depth, a lighthearted quirk with quick comedic timing and an earthy, animated youthful spirit. A lover of collaborative and intimate environments, Gabriella has great talent in building strong ensembles and creating work that is honest, vulnerable, and thought provoking. She has been consistently working since graduating from CAP21 May of 2016. She studied a multitude of styles and techniques such as Meisner, Shaw, Shakespeare, Chekov, Mask Work, Lecoq, On Camera Technique, TV/Film, Clowning, and Linklater Technique. She has a natural intuition that reads strong on stage/screen, loves all things that include a jam session with some dope in the moment harmony, classic rock and folk (Joni Mitchell/Brandi Carlile's #1 fan) is a midwestern gal at heart and LOVES to make people laugh.
Gabriella grew up in St. Charles and Geneva, Illinois (about 45 minutes outside of Chicago) and spent most of her childhood playing in the mud and cornfields of Oglesby, Illinois at her grandma and grandpa's house. Very shy as a child, she spent most of her elementary school and middle school days holed up in her house teaching herself songs on the piano and guitar and creating intricate stories on The Sims or playingBarbies, along with writing scripts and filming an assortment of media from her solo talk show "Gab's Corner" to her Barbie Soap Opera "Average" starring the Mary-Kate Olsen barbie doll, to her legendary music videos (most notably her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.)
The first time she stepped into the spotlight was when she first sang in front of a crowd at age 10. It started with her father persuading her into auditioning for the school talent show by buying her the Daphne (Ala Scooby Doo) Barbie Doll. From that moment on, Gabriella continued to be known for her shy exterior and powerhouse voice. She continued down the path of performing by becoming an avid community theatre participant, took acting/dance classes/piano and guitar lessons growing up and even assisted theatre classes for children at different theatre companies as a teenager, resulting in a more confident and extraverted version of Gabriella. Who would have thought putting an extremely introverted child in the arts would help her flourish and realize her full potential?! (jokes...but really. thank god(s) for ART)

Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world. “This adaptation by the acclaimed playwright Simon Stephens is intensely, innately theatrical; it is also funny and extremely moving…resonates with quality.” —Telegraph (London). “…just terrific…a profoundly moving play about adolescence, fractured families, mathematics, colours and lights…dazzling.” —Independent (London). “A beautiful, eloquent, dazzlingly inventive show about the wonders of life.” —Evening Standard (London).

Paul Curatolo (Vocals, Bass, Piano, Guitar)
The Beatles became Paul's biggest influence as a child growing up with RAIN. At ten years old, his musical journey began when he taught himself the drums. He quickly adapted to guitar & piano which drove him to write and record his own music. When he was 14, as a member of the pop band "Wayward", he went on to record five albums. Until recently the band has toured the U.S. and was voted home town heroes in A.P. magazine. (Alternative Press). Paul's love for the Beatles has driven him to master the character of Paul McCartney down to every detail. From vocal inflections to turning the bass over to perform left-handed. Paul considers it an honor to pay tribute to his idol.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly love-able Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Community theatre began in Oregon, Ohio in 1986 when a group of enthusiastic and talented citizens felt that Community Theater would enrich the culture and heritage of our thriving and growing city. With the assistance and support of the City of Oregon, the OREGON LITTLE THEATRE was founded and produced two successful musical productions: “The Music Man” in 1987 and “Damn Yankees” in 1988.
Because other people were interested in helping to support community theater in non-performing areas, another independent organization named “Friends of Oregon Theater” came into existence at the same time. It provided the theater programs for the shows, solicited patrons and advertisers, and presented a Dinner/Variety Show to spotlight talent in the community.
Encouraged by the success of the productions, a rapidly growing membership, and the desire to extend participation to the citizens of other communities, the membership, in July of 1988, voted to disband the city associated OREGON LITTLE THEATRE. The “Friends of Oregon Theater” then re-organized and became the OREGON COMMUNITY THEATRE.
Since it's humble beginnings, the OREGON COMMUNITY THEATRE has presented over 35 years of productions, including dinner/variety shows, children’s summer theatre, major musicals, comedies, dramas, and reader’s theatre productions.
OREGON COMMUNITY THEATRE is governed by an elected Board of Directors and is funded through a combination of season memberships, local sponsors, patrons, advertisers and fund-raisers which provides the necessary financial support to present the highest quality of theatrical productions possible.
Our Mission Statement: The Oregon Community Theatre is dedicated to the development of the performing arts within Oregon and its surrounding communities.
This mission shall be accomplished by encouraging appreciation of and participation in all aspects of live theater, as well as conducting related educational programs for adults and children.

3B Productions: October 1-2, Stone Productions:November 5th & 6th One fateful night, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love — innocently set out to visit an old professor. Unfortunately for them, this night out is destined to be one they will never forget. A thunderstorm and a flat-tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank ’N’ Furter, an alien, transvestite scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad, Janet, and Frank’ N’ Furter’s cohorts are swept up into the scientist’s latest experiment. It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”
Halfway between a concert and a musical. Performers sing, act and sometimes dance onstage. A style of entertainment that often includes a collection of short performances of music, theater, and dance strung together over the course of the performance. Cabaret acts are usually performed by a group of people, like an acting troupe or dance company, and occur in a small informal environment like a nightclub or small venue.
