We are all going through fear, uncertainty, disruption, isolation through out this pandemic and it's not over yet. But I truly believe it will get better eventually. One of the key realisation for me through the time was the importance of human connection and support network for me. I talk a lot about mindfulness, mindset and show my appreciation for tools and techniques of high performance. Today I came across the Documentary in Netflix about - The weight of Gold. It seemed fascinating especially with my admiration for Olympic athletes and their single minded focus to perform on a scale which is way above average. But this show reflects on the questions what's the price of the Gold medals?

We all have our gold medals in life, the question is how we want to go about it. What's the delicate balance of having it all ?

Go ahead and watch this documentary and hopefully this episode will give you all things to reflect on some crucial questions on our identities or our perceptions of it.

Minimalism is a lifestyle for many. “Simplicity, clarity, singleness: These are the attributes that give our lives power and vividness and joy as they are also the marks of great art.” —Richard Holloway

Minimalism makes things achievable , as mentioned before how my feeling of overwhelm with too many options, made simpler by asking what do I really need to get started with?  I interpret Minimalism isn’t about ‘giving up’ certain things.  I find that the more I declutter the more liberty I have to make sense what I really need to do from all the noise out there in a world full of too many choices and options.

It's all about family , friends and love this holiday season.

Holiday season is here and my go to comfort movies are Hallmark movies, especially during Christmas. It's like the comfortable mittens or PJs wants like to wear to feel home and cosy. Hallmark cards had been big part of my holiday traditions even growing up back at India. My parents buy me Hallmark cards for every birthday growing up as I always liked their design and their sentimentality in what the cards communicate in their message had been great.Let's take Hallmark movies. yes they are often cheesy and predictable with happy endings. But we still like them and many times it is a part of out holiday traditions

There is also science behind the popularity , to know a bit more listen this episode Digital Dreamers.

“I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think”Socrates 469-399 BC. Father of western philosophy.Greek philosophos means ‘lover of wisdom’,, from philein ‘to love’ + sophos ‘wise’.

I was researching Socratic method - process of gradual questioning a major contribution to academia. Challenging hypothesis and whcih leads to question one's belief. Examination of inner motivation and values. This lead me  to read an article on top law schools from USA and "Law professors teaching introductory law classes often use a pedagogical technique known as the Socratic method, which involves cold-calling on students and interrogating them about the facts and decisions in various court cases."

As promised in the show here is the link to the Intel article: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/program/education/us/en/documents/project-design/strategies/dep-question-socratic.pdf

Today's guest is Plamena Todorova, originally from Bulgaria.

Since she was little she had a passion to discover the world. At the age of 20 this brave soul moved to the USA and lived there for 2 years- starting from Las Vegas and then later moving to New York- my dream was to live there.

Following that her passion she continued her journey and moved to UAE -Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where she entered the aviation industry and was flying as a cabin crew for one of the best airlines, Etihad airways.

After 3 years of flying she took the decision to come back to her home country and work an office job from 9 to 5 in the corporate world. Not long passed when she realised that this is not her dream job and destiny.

This is where the journey of creating her own brand starts. Her mission is to show elegance and femininity in women through the jewellery but also expose their controversial side of strength and optimism by running a campaign called Babe of the hour. The aim of the campaign is to pass people's stories and help others in need through the jewellery collections. That's what makes this brand unique because it wears a soul.

Today we are talking about the wisdom and philosophy of this timeless book by Sun Tzu.A book written 2500 years ago still relevant.

In this episode I am mentioning the principles which inspired me and helped me in my life beyond management and business .

One of the principle we discussed on the show is following:

Appreciate, enjoy and nurture peace. “It is easy to love your friend, but sometimes the hardest lesson to learn is to love your enemy” . Balance and inner peace is crucial. There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: according to Sun Tzu, in this case applies to our modern life we live ion (1) Recklessness, which leads to destruction; (2) cowardice, which leads to capture; (3) a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; (4) a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; (5) over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble.”

For the rest listen to the show and revel in the wisdom of Sun Tzu!

Being brave is also a mindset which can be cultivated.

Robert H Schuller once said: "What would you do if you knew for sure you wouldn't fail?" . Failure doesn't bring joy to anyone. But I like this  thought provoking question. But my take is add a sub question to this one and ask. Now would I do the same thing even I fail ? Fear of failure often becomes roadblocks and for me personally it also had become driving force into working hard. Fear can Hurt sure but Fear also can help if channeled correctly .I believe for people who is willing to play the long game of life, being brave is not the absence of fear, but the ability to persist in spite of fear of failure or actually failing. We need to remind ourselves , paraphrasing Lana Del Ray here  “Being brave means knowing that when you fail, you don’t fail forever.”

Micro Excerpt from the show : There is a powerful quote in Anne Frank's " The diary of a young girl" - “People can tell you to keep your mouth shut, but that doesn't stop you from having your own opinion.”Have you ever been told to keep your mouth shut , may be not in those specific rude words but in a polite way .Please don't breathe a word, Keep mum, please keep it under's one own hat.As a shy and introverted from past I have heard various version of it and had stayed quite , fearful or just plain shy to express myself. But it definitely never stopped me of not having an opinion. It just gave me motivation to learn to overcome my fear of expressing myself and be better communicator.
