Realigning with nature, understanding how nature holds the answers to so much – its medicine is physical, emotional and spiritual.
We will look at plant and herb magick, shamanic practices, kitchen witchery and spell casting for each sabbath whether you have lots or a little amount of time to spare and honour the day.

Last time we explored how the element of air can be worked with in magick using the wind. This week we look at breathing the element of air throughout our bodies, the magick this can bring, particularly when we pair this work with the pineal gland, otherwise known as the witches eye. Join me while we explore how to activate it and how we can access altered states of consciousness and undertake work in other realms. It's a bit science-y but stick with it! It's fascinating stuff!

Here are some of the recipes from Carly's Kitchen witchery section -
Sun Tea
You will need -
1 quart-sized Mason jar,
4 or 5 mint leaves,
Green tea bag
a tablespoon of rose syrup
1 tablespoon sugar
Filtered water to fill jar
Directions
Simply place all ingredients into your jar. Fill your jar with filtered water.
Place your jar in a sunny spot, covered by a lid or piece of cheesecloth and rubber band Let your sun tea infuse in the sunshine for about 3 hours.

Beltane Incense Recipe
With your mortar and pestle, blend:
- 3 tsp ground frankincense
- 2 tsp ground dragon's blood
- 1 tsp rose
- 1 tsp jasmine
- 1/2 tsp mugwort
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Sprinkle on hot incense charcoals to bless your home or during your Beltane ritual.

Barmbrack Cake
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups (8.75oz/248g) raisins
- 1 3/4 cups (8.75oz/248g) sultanas
- 1 Zest of lemon, large
- 1 Zest of orange, large
- 1 1/3 cups (8oz/227g) dark brown sugar
- 2 cups (16floz/500ml) black breakfast tea, hot and strong
- 3 cups (15oz/426g) all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice or pumpkin pie spice (see notes)
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 325°F (170°C) then butter and line 1 deep 9 Inch Cake Pan. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine the raisins, sultanas, zests, and sugar.
- Pour the hot tea over and stir to combine. Cover with cling wrap and allow to stand overnight at room temperature.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and spice.
- Stir in the fruit mixture followed by the eggs, alternating between the two. Mix until no dry streaks remain and the batter is well incorporated.
- At this point add in your charm wrapped in parchment paper. (see note in post above). Pour the batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for about 80-90 minutes, or until the cake is golden and springs back when pressed. Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 20 minutes, then turn it out onto the rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve with butter. Store the Barm Brack at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days. It also can be frozen for at least 4 weeks. It is delicious toasted with butter and a cup of tea.
Samhain Tea - thanks to Oliver Tarot on Instagram
It consists of one part water
One Part milk
2 tsp of good quality black tea
2 tsp fresh ginger(one tsp per cup)
2 cardamom pods
Sugar to sweeten to taste
Chilli Flakes
You will need a good milk pan
Pestle and mortar
Wooden spoon
A box grater
Tea Strainer
Jug
Cups to drink from
Start by heating a good pan on the stove
Pop in the cardamom and grind it in a pestle and mortar - then grate the ginger into the mortar
Pour the water into the pan and bring to the boil
Add the ginger and cardamom
Then add the milk add the tea and sugar and then sprinkle a few flakes of chilli on and leave to simmer for a few minutes.
Pour into a jug through a tea strainer and leave for a few minutes - then serve - you can adjust the ingredients to your taste also!
