Our names are Ashlen & Sam, and we are traveling through the U.S. and Canada in a Dodge Sprinter van. Living in a van full time has always been a dream of our, and it became especially appealing when we realized how ridiculous the price of rent is in California. We wanted to live nomadically to experience beautiful places, not be tied down by rent, and find the best rock climbing meccas.
The Coddiwomple Podcast will give you weekly updates on where we travel to and what we climbed, as well as camping recommendations. We are vegan, and will be sharing the best beer/coffee/vegan food we get on the road. For each place we visit, we will share interesting history, stories, or environmental/social situations.
We visit one of our favorite spots and awesome little mountain towns in the Eastern Sierras- Bishop, CA. Known for some of the best bouldering in the United States, the Bishop area is home to The Happys, The Sads, and the Buttermilks. Little known to most of the people who climb here, there is a dark history of Los Angeles appropriating water from this area and causing "the water wars". Listen in to find out where to camp, shower, get the best coffee, and our favorite climbs!
Joshua Tree is one of our favorite places in California. Known as a classic climbing mecca, we discuss what we climbed and what we recommend. The little town and national park have a funky history, and we talk about the Integratron and Iron Door! Also, we found vegan pizza and carrot cake ;)
