Terri Werner is a transformational change guide who can help you have more ease and flow in your life by using neuroscience-based practices for your own 'way of being' and for your conversations with others.

We are often unaware of how we can dramatically improve our performance, relationships, and well-being. Whether you want to implement change or turn conflict into collaboration, she will give you hope, optimism, and strategies to navigate our stressful, challenging times.

Terri's mission is to help you see new possibilities, believe in yourself and your capability, have the courage to try the previously unimaginable and move from ordinary to extraordinary in both your personal and professional life.

In this episode, Natalie and Terri discuss:

  • Transactional learning and transformational learning.
  • How to be a better observer?
  • The power of ‘forward focus’
  • The power of asking effective questions
  • The difference between moods and emotions, and why they are both important.
  • The importance of grounding, centering, and intention.

Key Takeaways:

  • There are two ways that a person could navigate the search for solutions and that’s transactional learning and transformational learning. The way we do transformational change is not by doing things differently, but by being different.
  • For a real transformational change, we must shift all three: our story, our mood, and our emotions, and the embodiment of them must all change. The more you know about how your body, mind, and emotion congruence works, the more you can achieve what you want, more of the time!
  • We get too caught up in what we can do to fix the past that we become stuck in the present. Being forward-focused means focusing on creating something new and that starts with being present. We need to redefine ‘problems’ as the gap between how things are now and how we want them to be.
  • We have to be supremely intentional about what we're focusing on. The quality of your life depends on the quality of the questions you are running on.
  • You have much more power than you think to design your mood, and to design a mood and way of being that has a greater chance of getting the results that you want.
  • Throughout your day, practice grounding techniques. When we ‘move from center’ as we go through life, it not only changes our own brain and energy and power, it shifts the energy between us and the people around us.

“You are far more powerful than you know. The world needs you to please be very intentional about how you show up every day and affect the people around you.” - Terri Werner

Melissa Etherton is a trained transformational facilitator, feminine empowered business coach, and a love-based marketing strategist. She’s been working with businesses online since 2013 and specializes in creating evergreen systems, automation, workflows, integrations, and leveraging minimalist tech & team to build a business that supports your lifestyle.

Melissa is a highly skilled professional who empowers conscious and self-actualizing entrepreneurs to achieve their full potential. She leverages her expertise by connecting individuals with their life purpose and using that as a catalyst to fuel accelerated business growth. Through her unique approach, Melissa expands and deepens clients' vision, bringing it to the level of complete embodiment. Her dedication and vast knowledge and experience in the field make her an incredible asset to any entrepreneur seeking to enhance their personal and professional growth.

In this episode, Natalie and Melissa discuss:

  • Why should we invest in automation and content assistance?
  • How misalignment causes burnout
  • How to automate and simplify your business processes
  • Maintaining authenticity in a new world of AI-generated content
  • Creating an evergreen funnel
  • Time-saving tools and ideas
  • The thing that contributes most to your business

Key Takeaways:

  • Building a business where you must be there every day doesn't make sense if your goal is to have more time and energy freedom. Begin to leverage technology and automate your business. By doing so, you reduce the time it takes to come up with ideas, and you can create a business that supports your lifestyle and is unique to you.
  • It's true that there is no wrong way to do business, but when you don't align what you do with what you're really after, you're going to become dissatisfied with your work, burnt out, and unfulfilled. Make time for self-checking in and asking yourself: am I aligned with my goals, what I want to do, and the type of life I want?
  • Make use of AI-generated content to spark ideas and get past writer's block, but remember to always fact-check when using AI tools for research, always be specific when sending out your queries, and don’t offload your whole content writing to AI tools.
  • Keep your writing's personality and voice intact despite the benefits of AI tools in generating content. Never ever cut and paste generated content and publish it as your own, and don't shy away from being your own editor. It's not the length or terms that determine if people will finish reading your post, it's whether or not there is no fluff and whether or not you are creating a transformation for them.
  • Look at the big vision of what you want in your business, and then break it down into smaller components so that you know what tech you can use to help automate as much of that as possible. It comes down to what is important to you and what you want to use to do business your way.
  • You can use a variety of tools to make your business easier, but as you review these tools and try out their free trials, it is important to reflect on your own needs and use them as much as possible so that you can decide whether you need the tool in your business or not.
  • Practice getting centered, grounded, and connected to what provides meaning to your soul. What contributes most to your business is not the doing, but the being.

"Your tools and your tech can be like your VAs if you build it the right way." – Melissa Etherton

Tom is an executive & corporate consultant specializing in delivering high-impact leadership and organizational coaching and training. He combines years of C-level business operations experience + extensive executive-level coaching experience with data-backed tools and software to help you align your business strategy with people strategy. The result is an exceptional performance. With 20+ years in global corporations as an operations executive and extensive change management experience, Tom’s on a mission to help leaders create people-first organizations equipped to adapt and thrive in today’s ever-changing business climate.

In this episode Natalie and Tom discuss:

  • The leadership gap in organizations
  • Leadership needs compassion.
  • Hiring for the head, heart, and briefcase
  • The double bottom line
  • Resilience and Success

Key Takeaways:

  • One of the primary needs of leadership today is self-awareness. As leaders, we are responsible for influencing our people, and how we influence people is determined by how we show up in the workplace.
  • The first step to becoming more intentional and mindful is to be aware of how we are showing up right now. However, leadership requires compassion as well. Give yourself grace and see yourself from a compassionate point of view, then begin to see others from the same lens, taking into account that everybody has something going on in their lives.
  • When you hire for the head, the heart, and the briefcase, you’re hiring the whole person. Hiring the right person for the right role sets up that person for success, and their success is also your success as the leader, and therefore, the success of the entire organization.
  • Leadership that is compassionate is weak is a myth. In fact, compassion drives success in the workplace: major improvements in productivity result from greater employee involvement, and morale improves among managers and employees.
  • Resilience is key to overcoming the challenges that life throws our way, and recovery starts from being humble enough to admit that something is wrong and having the courage to ask for help.

Tiffany has been on a roller-coaster path as a graphic designer, youth minister, non-profit leader, virtual assistant, and now an entrepreneur since 2010. But in every career, one thing has stayed the same – her singular purpose of helping others believe and achieve their possibilities.

As the founder of Lone Orange, Tiffany helps overwhelmed solopreneurs impact more clients without feeling captive to their business. Based on her own hard-earned lessons, she helps them create strong alignment between their identity and operations so they can expand their reach and grow their team!

Her deep conviction that solopreneurs can change the world fuels her mission to help 10,000 solopreneurs by 2030. She created SoloHUB as a safe space for solopreneurs to explore their authentic brand identity, learn how to scale their businesses, and support each other along the way.

In this episode Natalie and Tiffany discuss:

  • The turning point in Tiffany’s coaching career
  • Overcoming your self-sabotage
  • Connecting with your sage voice
  • The power of staying true to yourself
  • Handling speed bumps in your entrepreneurial journey

Key Takeaways:

  • No matter what's going on, never forget to give yourself grace and actually take a break.
  • It is your self-sabotage that prevents you from achieving your dreams and goals, so in order to stop yourself from holding back from your potential, you must be able to recognize your self-sabotage, push it aside, and then reconnect with your sage.
  • By the act of breathing and anchoring to your breath, and tapping into your senses, you are able to reconnect to that center and to that sage voice.
  • Stay true to yourself. It becomes so resonant and engaging when you share from a very authentic level, and it gets people to learn more and want to be part of the journey.
  • Failure is your guru. Those moments of failure and speed bumps will serve as opportunities for you to learn something new that will guide you in a new direction.

Monica is a heart-centered leader, global citizen, life-long learner, and community builder, a scientist by trade, and a spiritual leader by choice.

She is on a mission to scale global awareness of our interdependence as humans and with nature, as the critical foundation for the creation of solutions for sustainable and flourishing futures that are rooted in dignity and unity.

In her roles as a sustainability expert, leadership coach, motivational speaker, author, mentor, activist, and guide of transformative experiences, Monica creates whole collaborative spaces that maximize individual and group resilience, and scale impact leveraging collective wisdom to generate and implement pragmatic social and climate justice possibilities.

Monica is the founder and CEO of Gefyra Inc, a social enterprise that literally means ‘the bridge’. Gefyra partners with individuals, communities, organizations, and institutions, to build their sense of wholeness to unlock their ability to operate at their best, creating value from their full potential.

In this episode Natalie and Monica discuss:

  • Monica’s journey from the head to the heart
  • The importance of interdependence
  • Owning your power
  • The power of asking for support as an entrepreneur
  • Operating from a sense of wholeness

Key Takeaways:

  • It is only through accepting yourself, acknowledging your gift, and knowing that you have something to contribute that you can unlock all of your potentials.
  • Rather than competing, interdependence means we are here to collaborate. It is through our willingness to embrace vulnerability and interconnection that we will truly harness the strengths, harness the gifts of others, and create something even greater than we ever imagined.
  • You own the power of creating your own dream; it's up to you to create what you want and not let the circumstances dictate what you do.
  • You give others the opportunity to serve and contribute when you ask for their support. This allows them to feel fulfilled and connected, and also opens the door to amazing partnerships.
  • It is possible to shift our emotions to something positive, such as joy, and if we choose these emotions, and we understand how our minds and brains work, we can give ourselves whatever we need to operate at our best every single moment.

"If it's done from needing to prove myself, it's never going to lead to fulfillment." – Monica Pandele

Jennifer Harshman learned she had a gift for editing when her third-grade teacher pulled her aside secretively and asked her to correct the errors in the note that was going home to the parents.

Jennifer’s been writing and editing professionally since 1992—everything from brochures to books, and in October 2022, she released Your Book Bakery: Making it easy to write a book. She’s edited more than 200 books and 30 million words, and a few of her editing credits are NYT Bestseller 48 Days to the Work and Life You Love, USA Today bestseller The Millennial Whisperer, and a book that hit #1 in the business category on Amazon: The Bezos Letters.

Contact Jennifer. She’d love to hear about your writing dreams. That is, when she’s not fulfilling her roles as a homeschooling wife and mom and a book dragon with a big appetite. In her free time, she likes to play with paint and toot a flute.

In this episode Natalie and Jennifer discuss:

  • The importance of doing what you love as an entrepreneur
  • Reasons why entrepreneurs should write a book
  • Writing a book doesn’t have to be hard
  • What authors should consider to make their book a success
  • Publishing your book

Key Takeaways:

  • Do what you love, and the money will follow. Take advantage of resources to learn what you need to know, build those skills, and do your own thing, making it something that fuels you and inspires you.
  • You should write a book to serve other people and to attract the right people to you, as well as repel the people who are not the right fit for you or aren't ready for your service at the moment.
  • Having mental obstacles and mindset barriers makes writing a book difficult, and the only way we can actually begin to write a book is to introduce the mindset that writing is easy. You can make progress in just a couple of minutes a day.
  • Having an outline is a good start, but having a mindset is even more important. Put all your doubts aside and focus on making some progress every day, no matter how small it may be.
  • You can either publish your book through a publishing company or self-publish it, but be careful of vanity presses or vanity publishers who take your money to publish your book. You'll have to wear many hats when self-publishing, but remember you don't have to do everything all by yourself. You can hire people to assist you in certain areas.

"With the right attitude and resources, you can do amazing things. And if you will choose the first, you will find the second." – Jennifer Harshman

Bunmi Samuel (pronounced Boomie) is a thought leader and entrepreneur from New York City, currently living between New York City and California and where the adventure takes him. An attendee of Morgan State University, City Technical of New York City, and a graduate of Temple University, Bunmi has the desire to learn and teach.

Bunmi, professionally is passionate about storytelling through modeling life, design, strategy, and pinpointing key points in history. His direction and inspiration derive and purpose from an upbringing in the vibrance of New York City culture, lifestyle, and institution building as a core principle within his pioneering family. A deep believer in the human ability to transform challenges Mr. Samuel's vision is to tell stories and the nuance of history and culture through detailed depictions of life. He values building dynamic companies, connecting people to opportunity, and creating change in turbulent environments. Changing mindset is his gift.

A trained school designer and strategist he operates businesses that provide solutions to large and small challenges in the marketplace.

In 2014, Bunmi Samuel experienced a 15,000-foot skydiving malfunction and fall resulting in severe injuries and challenges. He spent 7 years journeying rehabs and shares knowledge of health, medical, and wellness practices. Through many experiences, Bunmi tells the story of challenge, pursuit, and belief in human capacity to audiences around the world. Bunmi currently operates the design strategy company Pants and Sleeves, an invention group - AbleWorld, and Retreat Space known as Better Live Better. With his time, he enjoys designing, advising on cycles of culture and history, mentoring, marathoning, speaking, and writing.

Bunmi’s overall mission and purpose are to develop capacity in people, organizations, and communities and model endurance and success in all he does.

In this episode Natalie and Bunmi discuss:

  • Bunmi’s journey as an entrepreneur
  • How grief became Bunmi’s greatest opportunity in life
  • Making the world accessible to everyone
  • The importance of having an honest travel conversation
  • Entrepreneurship is not something you get into for a quick fix.

Key Takeaways:

  • It's about living, not just looking and watching that would make you succeed as an entrepreneur.
  • Consider your fear as a challenge and look at it as an opportunity to transform yourself, then put the steps of the processes together to address that challenge. If you don't reflect and clear your grief, it can stay with you and stop you from expanding, and from going to the next level.
  • It is high time that we start creating a system that will provide everyone with a high level of access to a world that welcomes individuals more as a place to explore. This easy-to-navigate and accessible environment will bring more business to the world.
  • A more inclusive, more welcoming, and more accessible travel experience begins with honest travel conversations. Be honest about what you don't like and don't be afraid to express your suggestions - change and improvement will not happen unless you speak up.
  • You can't get into entrepreneurship for a quick fix - it's going to be an endless process of winning, losing, and reflecting on how you can improve. You can't be an entrepreneur if you don't have the willingness to do, or the willingness to take that experience, and reflect on that constantly.

"It's not always about the profit as the end marker of success. It’s also about how brilliant you can actually conjure up these ways of creating, delivering and moving people to be inspired. I think that's what an entrepreneur really wants to do." – Bunmi Samuel

Aisha means life. She masterfully brings ideas and events to life with her agency AIB Marketing & Consulting. For over 20 years she has worked with entertainment companies, nonprofit agencies, small businesses, and entrepreneurs to amplify their vision. She is unapologetic about her passion for young people and making space for family.

In this episode Natalie and Aisha discuss:

  • Why vision is vital to small businesses
  • What young people need today
  • The importance of self-care and wellness in business and entrepreneurship
  • Bringing your ideas to life
  • Having a strong network of support
  • Success factors for executing an outstanding event

Key Takeaways:

  • Think about what you want to bring to the table and why you want to have that vision; you'll never know how it could grow over the years and be of greater value to the world.
  • The skills that young people acquire in non-traditional settings can be applied in life skills as well as other areas if given encouragement and opportunities. Give them the chance to try new things to discover what they love and what they're passionate about, as well as their skills, without putting too much pressure on them to decide what their future holds.
  • Maintaining your energy and enjoying the things that you do can only be achieved with self-care and wellness.
  • Learn how to collaborate and change your scenery sometimes - this allows you to get feedback, learn from others' experiences and expertise, and share those ideas to unleash your creativity.
  • Do not take people for granted. Nothing beats the experience of having the strong support of family and friends who stand by you no matter what's going on in your life and guide you to accomplish whatever you set your mind to.
  • Connecting with others is what people crave, so think of ways to make engagement and interaction fun so that people can still form those connections within your event.

"Keep in mind that opportunities are endless, and you have the freedom to create." – Aisha Winfield

Dr. Saiyyidah Zaidi is an executive coach; an expert in diversity, inclusion, and belonging leadership development and training; and an independent researcher in identity, intersectionality, and interculturality.

Originally trained as an architect, Saiyyidah spent ten years in local government before leaving her Director position to retrain as an executive coach. She spent eight years researching identity, intersectionality, and interculturality in British Practical Theology while developing her coaching practice. Saiyyidah is an Independent Scholar, Faculty member, and Tutor with Meyler Campbell, a Trustee and Committee member with the British and Irish Association of Practical Theology, and the Founding Convenor of the Centre for Belonging and Understanding.

In this episode Natalie and Dr. Saiyyidah discuss:

  • Creating a safe space for others to step up and share voices
  • The importance of having a sense of belonging
  • Behavioral change for individuals and organizations
  • Having a lens of curiosity and asking questions
  • How Saiyyidah overcame the biggest challenge in her life
  • Saiyyidah’s advice to individuals who want to cast a bigger vision

Key Takeaways:

  • We can all influence and open doors for others to express themselves, it just depends on whether we explore and expand our understanding of what it feels like to belong so we can help others do so.
  • A sense of belonging not only increases an individual's experience and satisfaction in life, but it also helps them develop skills to work with others, and more people will be willing to work with you over other organizations that do not do that kind of work.
  • A successful change comes from training and support that helps you change the way you act, behave, and make decisions.
  • Get curious and ask questions - it creates a space for difference and respect, so we can sit in our own beingness and communicate in a respectful way.
  • In the end, you can't resolve everything, so just be in the moment, and you'll be able to enjoy what's happening right now despite all the challenges and obstacles.
  • Always be yourself, know what your area of expertise is, and identify who in your network supports you.

"Enjoy life. Work out what you need to do to be comfortable in your own skin and find out what brings you joy and do more of it." – Dr. Saiyyidah Zaidi

Key Takeaways:

  • A corporate job and an entrepreneurial journey can be hard to balance, but if it's something you truly want and love, it doesn't feel like work.
  • Stress is a silent killer, so don't neglect your physical and mental well-being. Putting yourself first should always be your top priority so that when you show up, you show up in a way that is calmer and more focused.
  • Relationships and connectedness can still be maintained with the new normal; you just have to change the way meetings are structured.
  • Leading effectively requires learning about yourself, enrolling others in your vision, affiliating with the right people, and showing dedication.
  • It's often the uncomfortable things that lead to growth - push yourself out of your comfort zone and you'll find new opportunities.

She offers a unique approach to helping clients transform their relationship with themselves, such that they are fully empowered in every area of life and have alignment between their inner self-image and outward self-expression.

As an accomplished Organizational Strategy Consultant, she's worked with industry leaders (PwC, Deloitte) and other firms supporting senior executive clients at high-profile government agencies (FBI, NGA, DOD, DOJ, DHS, OPM, FEMA, NSF) to realize the possibility of people-driven culture, values-aligned strategy, continuous process improvement, and optimized organizational performance.

In this episode Natalie and Monica discuss:

  • Monica’s journey to self-discovery and personal development
  • The accouterments of success
  • How Monica dealt with the repercussions of letting go of what no longer serves her
  • How can women in their 40’s reinvent their life?
  • Developing your sense of self-confidence

Key Takeaways:

  • The best thing parents can do for their children is to let them make their own decisions in life, rather than pressuring them to live up to their expectations. Knowing who you really are is more important than living out your life pretending to be someone you aren't.
  • The material possessions you work so hard to accumulate are meaningless and won’t give you long-term happiness unless you have a strong and grounded understanding of who you are, and what lights you up inside.
  • Develop a strong sense of self that allows you to remain unwavering in the face of whatever life throws at you. Be there for yourself, root for yourself, and believe that no matter what, you can overcome all of these seemingly insurmountable challenges.
  • The first step in reinventing your life is to develop awareness. Remove all of your roles, labels, and roles or responsibilities and just focus on what you really enjoy. Take complete care of yourself, of your soul, so that you have an overflow, to give willingly rather than out of obligation or fear of having it pressed out of you.
  • You have to have the courage to show up authentically as yourself in order to build and elevate your self-image. The courage you seek and that you infuse in yourself may influence someone else to do the same.

"I didn't understand before why it is that celebrities overdose. Why it is that people can be surrounded by all the things that most people believe they could ever want and still experience deep depression? Because all of those things are meaningless. They may give you fleeting happiness, but it doesn't stay." – Monica Sherese

Katrina DeAngelis is an Employee Engagement and Organizational Culture expert. She is a big believer in the idea that a business's success is dependent on the culture that it cultivates. Katrina describes her work as a process of “discovery and development”. This experience enhances team engagement, collaboration, productive communication, and trust. Just ask one of the numerous businesses Katrina has helped from Vancouver to Germany to achieve their true potential and recognize their true self.

This work has led to the creation of The 7 Chakras of Business – the culmination of Katrina’s lifelong work. This program is inspired by the chakras that exist within the human body and Katrina’s recognition of the collaborations between a person and a business. “Just as there is an energy system and a consciousness within humans, businesses have them too” says Katrina. 7 Chakras of Business aims to awaken the consciousness of your business. Katrina hopes that through this program she can help shift how we think about business – a change focused on creating “Ripples of Impact” on a global scale.

In this episode Natalie and Katrina discuss:

  • The concept of business as a living system instead of a static object
  • Awakening the life of the company
  • Creating a culture in the business
  • The important values to consider in building a business
  • Overcoming your self-doubts

Key Takeaways:

  • A business is a living system, people are the driving force behind it, and how we see it is how we see ourselves. And it is only when we start to treat it as a living, breathing entity that we can develop healthier teams and relationships, and bring life to our organization.
  • Everyone in the company is responsible for awakening the company's life. It's all about showing up. It all comes down to showing up. And leaders at the top of an organization can create structures and processes that allow people to discover themselves or to lead effectively and consciously within the organization.
  • Creating a culture within your business starts with self-awareness - defining what culture actually means to you and what you'd like to see, as well as thinking about the core issues that need attention.
  • Businesses and owners should focus on defining the how, how it looks for them and their team, and what actually works. A clear understanding of your values is the key to success.
  • The journey to our goals is always filled with self-doubt, but it's discovering our whys that leads us there.
  • All of us want to feel confident, but what we really want is radical confidence, the confidence that comes from feeling self-doubt, fear, and whatever else you're feeling, but still doing it anyway. Practice radical confidence and you'll be able to achieve it faster.

"What inspires me is the possibility of or the opportunities that are possible. If we do start to shift the way that we operate a business, the more consciously we can lead, the more conscious cultures can be. I think that this just creates such an opportunity for the world and for organizations himself to be a place of healing." – Katrina DeAngelis

Josh is a Certified XChange Guide – facilitating groups to unlock wisdom, knowledge, and potential at speed and scale.

Josh served as the training director for a national real estate network, which grew over 3600% in 3 years, earned the Inman Innovator of the Year award, and was named to the Inc 500 fastest growing companies, twice.

He Is a board member for the National Speakers Association Oregon Chapter and serves on KWU faculty—named to Training Magazines Hall of Fame.

When not training and coaching real estate agents, Josh and his family look for adventure camping, hunting, and fishing throughout the northwest.

In this episode Natalie and Josh discuss:

  • Josh’s Northstar in his entrepreneurial journey
  • Job vs. vocation
  • Reconnecting with your purpose on a road trip
  • The importance of being the only
  • Discovering your authentic self
  • The growth accelerator for entrepreneurs
  • What success means to Josh

Key Takeaways:

  • Live an integrated and adventurous life. Go on an adventure or try something new; it doesn't have to be big. Integrating every experience into an adventure can help in refueling your soul and is an important part of what makes life worth living.
  • There's nothing wrong with working hard but don't let yourself become a slave in your own business. Engage in a vocation rather than a job; a vocation is bringing your entire being to the good that you're doing in the world.
  • Being in a different environment can be challenging, but it's simply a matter of learning how to switch or reframe our mindset and staying focused despite all the changes that may come our way, as well as remaining true to your intention in caring for your clients.
  • You don't have to be the best, you just have to be the only. Entrepreneurs must stop building businesses that no one hates. Rather, they must create businesses that some people love. Trust and bring that one-of-a-kind idea to the world, and watch your business thrive.
  • Spend more time doing what you love and showing up in that way, and prioritize the things that fill you up over chasing after better results. Allowing yourself to learn more about who you are, who you serve, how you can serve them, and why you serve them can help you feel more authentic.
  • Taking small steps to change your habits and behaviors and attempting to do so consistently can make a significant difference in achieving your goals.

"Learn how to be an entrepreneur for your life. Take all of that wisdom, all that learning what you've figured out those skills that you have in business, and apply them to your whole person and it will transform you." – Josh Friberg

Alexandra (Alex) Suchman is CEO and co-founder of Barometer XP, a company that uses games to spark insightful conversations about how team members can better communicate and collaborate toward shared goals. Alex leads game sessions that help individuals and teams explore self-awareness and make meaningful, sustainable culture changes.

Prior to Barometer XP, Alex founded AIS Collaborations, a consulting firm that helped small businesses reach new levels of success through simple systems, stronger organizing techniques, and better planning. She has an MPP from George Washington University, a BA in psychology from Colby College, and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and DISC coach.

In this episode Natalie and Robert discuss:

  • The idea for Barometer XP
  • The struggles of putting up the Barometer XP
  • The impact of getting too attached to things
  • Keeping your team motivated
  • Putting boundaries on your time

Key Takeaways:

  • No matter how busy you are at work or in life, always make time and space for conversations or connecting with those around you. This gives you insight into how other people think and act, which you can use to be more strategic about how you work together in the future.
  • Your proof of concept can become a purpose, and it is your willingness to put forth your best effort in doing that thing and collaborating with your team that will make a real difference.
  • Don't get too attached to any version of anything. It's just a matter of getting things out there, trying them out, recognizing that they're not perfect, and iterating and expanding. The more attached you are, the less space you leave for growth or change.
  • Everybody’s input and ideas matter. Allow people on your team to take ownership of something you're doing - keeping tasks and skills aligned integrates growth and development.
  • Working hard is not a bad thing, but don't let your work consume you and cast a shadow over the other aspects of your identity. You can still achieve your objectives while maintaining your well-roundedness and allowing the other aspects of your personality to shine.

"Work can have fun and joy. Don't be afraid of the people who want to connect, it's really important to have that trust and familiarity and comfort with the people that you work with. And so, fun and playing games should not be bad words in the workplace." – Alexandra Suchman

Robert Murray is the co-founder and a Certified High-Performance Coach at Group Coach Magic. At 15, he grew a business with a group of friends from a startup to $200 million with the aspirational mission of being an example of how business could be if it's focused on making a positive impact in the world. He's facilitated hundreds of powerful conversations and events in organizations, such as Keller-Williams, Organifi, State Farm, Google, Pro-Match, DaoCloud, and many others.

Now, he has partnered with a fellow high-performance coach, Daniel Fernandez, to mentor some of the best coaches in the world, on how to create transformational group programs. They have cool co-created some of the most effective tools in the world, over hundreds of sessions, with advanced coaches in the field to create powerful group sessions with everyone progresses rapidly and feels safe, seen, and heard.

In this episode Natalie and Robert discuss:

  • Things to consider before jumping into the entrepreneurial journey
  • Getting your head right
  • Dealing with imposter syndrome
  • Being in a community that shares the same goals
  • The importance of understanding what drives you

Key Takeaways:

  • You don't have to give up your job immediately just because you want to embark on an entrepreneurial journey. Make it clear to yourself that you must first devote your full attention to learning the set of entrepreneurial skills before making a pivot and going all in.
  • Get your head right. Entrepreneurs must be able to manage their thoughts and have a clear understanding of what they are supposed to do, then maintain that clarity by seeking help from coaches when things become too overwhelming and by keeping your mission in mind.
  • Keep in mind that imposter syndrome is something every one of us goes through, and it does become more prevalent as you progress. You just have to remind yourself to trust your ability to figure out how to get the help that you need. It's okay to seek help and be vulnerable at times; vulnerability is the key to genuine connection.
  • Get clear on what matters to you, then surround yourself with people who share your goals and have great advice on how to overcome and move forward in this uncertainty. Sometimes your success is determined by the people you spend the most time with.
  • Find out what drives you at your core. This will provide you with the clarity you need to decide which direction you believe you should go in and begin moving in that direction and taking action.

"Clarity comes from experimentation and action, and progress comes from taking small steps. And if you're willing to just take those small steps and get your gift out in the world and we had more people who were doing that, the world would obviously be a much better place." – Robert Murray

  • Doing what's expected of you
  • Being honest with yourself
  • Finding people with similar aspirations as yours
  • Allowing your voice to be heard

  • Let your voice be heard. Your story, how you tell it, and the motivation behind it have the potential to make a significant difference in the world.

Sharon Otaguro is known for building bridges and connecting dots. She works with business owners, and industry leaders within the spa and wellness field to identify the key profit maximizers and biggest time wasters, create a consistent marketing and retention strategy, and scale the leadership in a way that increases ease, effectiveness and enjoyment.

Sharon fosters Ohana (community) to increase support and accountability. She helps the business leader to build an inner ‘Belief System Compass’, and an outer confidence that is action-oriented.

Sharon's mission is to guide leaders in creating high-performance, consciously, within their circles of influence, to support healers sharing Aloha, and building lives full of freedom, joy, and success starting with their own, and to lead entrepreneurs in being authentic.

In this episode Natalie and Sharon discuss:

  • The concept of "Ohanapreneur"
  • The compound effect
  • Creating and contributing to community
  • Burnout and achievement
  • The concept of "WELLth"
  • Achieving freedom, joy, and success

Key Takeaways:

  • Staying together as an entrepreneur, sharing and growing in community combining their thoughts and contributions is a key component for success.
  • Create compound effect by scaling influence, to grow beyond yourself to create an impact that continues to expand.
  • Creating community starts with leadership. Share your values, be firm with your beliefs, and what you stand for. But leadership is not just in a specific title, it can be demonstrated by the way we show up and contribute.
  • There's a fine line between burnout and achievement, it's just what the results are on the outcomes of what we put forward. Find balance in your life and set boundaries.
  • Find “WELLth’ (wealth) in your well-being. Financial independence is essential, but it means nothing if we don't have a good quality of life to enjoy it.
  • Create clear visions of what you want, define them in different aspects of your life, then recognize it and acknowledge the moment.

"Mark what is working in your life and appreciate that. By that appreciation, you create clarity of what’s important and that gives you the sense of why you’re on this earth and what you are meant to do next” - Sharon Otaguro
