On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chats to Brooke Yantzi a Intuitive and Somatic Coach, Creator of the Dance Alchemy Somatic Healing modality and TedX speaker. This powerful episode explores what it takes for the body to heal and how somatic movement, dance, tuning in and connecting to your body helps us to heal our repressed pain, trauma and trapped emotions. If you are on a healing journey or are struggling with pain, trauma or negative energy and want to feel liberated then this episode is for you.Key Points covered in today's episode:• Brooke breaks down exactly what she does and how she does it, helping people heal through somatics and dance and connect to the wisdom within us.
• How we live in a world that's disconnected from our bodies, in overwhelm and with an over-regulated nervous system and how dance is one of the best ways to bring us back into our bodies combining the 5 elements earth, water, fire, air and ether.
• That life itself is a dance and we can't always be operating at our peak performance and how the real medicine is when we allow ourselves to be all of ourselves, the ego, the heart, the spirit.
• Love and compassion for ourself is where the healing really lies, to fully accept who we are.
• The importance of feeling safe in your body and how this attributes to healing by creating an opening for healing, expression and creativity.
• A huge part of the reason we are in a mental health crisis is because our nervous systems are over stimulated and over-regulated by so many things coming at them including a lack of sunshine (vitamin D) which helps regulate us.
• What sort of movement in particular helps with healing and how allowing your body to move how it wants to, shaking and bouncing releases a lot of negative energy.
• Brooke shares how that somatics and dancing helped her to navigate the grief portal of the ending of her marriage and how she allowed the many many emotions to be felt instead of bypassed.
• The importance of being supported by other people when you have a traumatic or emotionally painful experience.
• How feminine sacred rage and anger is incredibly powerful and extremely healing not just for yourself but the world and it can be expressed in a healthy way.End quote by Shah AsadThank you for listening! If this episode resonated with you or you know it will help someone else - please share it :)

In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat shares very vulnerably about how she is currently struggling with loneliness and what she does to help her deal with it. If you have ever felt lonely or are currently experiencing loneliness and are struggling with it then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode: Kat sheds tears as she begins this episode speaking about being how it's New Years Eve 2023, how she is completely alone and has never felt more alone How that even though Kat understands rationally that this moment won't last it doesn't invalidate her feelings and the pain she is experiencing. How to navigate the feeling of loneliness and the steps to take to alleviate it including acceptance and leaning in, expressing the emotion, self love, doing something that makes you feel good and going to a public place with people. Engaging with other people, even just a little and making simple conversation helps you establish human connection and can help you to feel better. That changing the environment is a powerful tool in helping you to feel less alone and acts as a distraction from lonely thoughts. How talking to someone about how you feel takes off a lot of mental weight. Ways you can connect with other people, make new friends, meet new people and find your community. How being vulnerable with others is a fantastic way to form deeper connections and strengthen bonds with others.End quote by Emma Xu Thank you for listening! 🙏If this episode or the podcast resonates with you or you know it will help someone else - please share it :)Show your love and support for Kat by hitting the follow/subscribe button and by leaving a 5 star review on ITunes or Spotify."It may not seem like much but this small act means the world to me & is what helps the show to grow organically, thank you."Kat CONNECT WITH KAT:If you are interested in working with Kat and would like her support check out the links below 👇FREE Masterclass for overcoming challenges and building confidence: Watch hereChat with Kat for FREE: Click hereKat's website: www.wellbeingwanderer.comKat's Instagram: @thewellbeingwanderer--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-wellbeing-wanderer/message

In today's episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chat's with Dale Rees Sparey, a man on a mission to remove the stigma around and help people cope with mental health conditions and addiction after surviving many dark and turbulent moments in his life including several attempts at suicide. Dale has Bi-polar, ADHD and continues to experience bouts of depression however he has found successful coping mechanisms and ways to live in harmony with his illness. A truly inspiring, important and real conversation that's going to benefit so many.
If you want to learn more about what it's like to live with a severe mental health condition and addiction or maybe you have or are experiencing any of these illnesses, then this episode is for you.
Key points covered in today's episode:
• Dale share's what led him to drug addiction and mental health conditions, how his addictive behaviour came from trying to be the best skateboarder and getting off on that dopamine hit and the cocaine abuse started from being a renowned DJ in the Ibiza party scene. The high was never high enough and he was always chasing the next one.
• How anyone with an addiction or an addictive personality will never be satisfied or get over it, they must seek a healthy replacement like exercise but to be aware that afterwards there will be a crash as the dopamine high wears off faster the higher you go.
• Mental health disorders can be genetic and run in the family. Dale's brother was diagnosed with full blown Schizophrenia and he was told by the doctor that the Sparey name is commonly seen in the hospital filing system.
• The 'Manics' as Dale describes it can be episodes of utter chaos, confusion and mind blanks and how he often experiences these over a period of 4 or 5 days. It's like his brain almost shuts down and forgets how to perform basic tasks like making coffee.
• That there is a strong link between addiction and mental health and that drugs are the perfect way to drown out the noise and voices inside your head. Whenever Dale took Cocaine everything went quiet and it brought him peace so it's understandable why drugs once took such a prominent place in his life
• How to help friends and family struggling with addiction and to be careful not to enable them through your kindness. Dale believes there's nothing anyone can really do for you, even talking about it fuels the addiction and that the decision to stop must come from the addict to stop.
• An addict or a person with a mental health condition must reach a place of rock bottom or hopelessness in order to gain the awareness of how severe their condition is and to be able to find the motivation to want to change.
• Dale shares the hardest lesson he's learned on his journey and explains about the time he put his addiction before his daughter and the pain it caused her.

On this weeks solo episode of The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast Kat dives into the Buddhist concept of non-attachment, the art of letting go of the defined self. If you're someone who is easily stressed and tries to control of everything then this episode is for you.
Key points covered in today's episode:
• Kat describes what attachment and non-attachment is, where it comes from and why it matters.
• How non attachment does not make you isolated, aloof or disassociated with life and others but how it actually raises your engagement.
• It's the resistance to what is that causes us the most suffering and that we would feel psychologically and physiologically much better by accepting what is.
• Why being in the present moment is the most important place to be because it is the only place that exists, our future is always uncertain.
• The Buddhist belief of the 'not self' how our bodies are an illusion, we are a part of everything and everything is a part of us.
• Kat shares a story from her past about when she was put to the test of non attachment and how instead of fighting her circumstances she choose to go with the flow and allowed her reality to happen.
• Why we need a little stress to survive and the fact that a raise in our stress hormone cortisol is designed to protect us.
• How meditation is one of many techniques that help with non-attachment as it helps you become a clear vessel.

This conversation is about so much more than tennis, the sport has taught Kelly his most valuable life lessons and through this he's improved not only his wellbeing but that of his tennis clients both on and off the court. If you're curious to know how sport can shape your own personal development and growth then this episode is for you
Key topics covered in today's episode:
• The importance of learning about psychology and applying it to improve and positively influence your life.
• Kelly shares why tennis has been so impactful on his life and for his own psychological health including finding community through the sport and becoming a teacher in it that brought him so much joy.
• The difference between coaching and mentoring and how bring in flexibility is a significant requirement to helping others also why you it's valuable to sometimes choose a mentor/coach who is younger than you to bridge the generational gap and learn more.
• How both development (moments of change) and progress (experience over time) are required to feel in tune and balanced for long term growth with our wellness
• The key elements needed for becoming efficient and successful in something - adaptability is important to understand as there needs to be an ever changing foundation based on your own individuality and diversity is needed as there will be different stages to your journey and utilising different tools in your toolkit will help you.
• How being really honest with yourself helps you build a low, medium and high quality base of what you want to start creating your success and wellness story
• Kelly shares his view on the biggest obstacles people face when it comes to achieving the results they desire from something - how people build an expectation before a plan and how this then causes stress. Be careful not value your expectation over your goal setting and work out if it's more emotional or practical.
• Really understanding your 'why' when going after a goal will help you achieve it and prevent your emotions from overriding the practical component needed for success.
• The concept of wellbeing is an ongoing process, there is no end goal, just learning to be well in each moment and allowing the flow of the rhythm of life.

• The main reason why we don't look after ourselves. James believes it's taking our health for granted, life getting in the way, society not having our back and understanding that it takes a conscious effort and it's a process to change
• Starting small is the way to sustainably improve your self care, even 5 to 10 minutes works wonders and everyone can find this time in their day
• How to stop self sabotaging your health - firstly by getting very honest with yourself and creating an awareness you're doing it and then catching yourself in the moments of sabotage and changing your pattern
• How to create sustainable long lasting changes: understanding why your'e deciding to change, what you will be changing, how you want it to look and take a small step towards it. When you have that clear vision of why you want something and what it looks like you're going to be able to continue to take the actions necessary towards it
• James shares his vision of the world if everyone took care of their mind, body and soul

On this weeks solo episode of The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast Kat shares her journey and experience of manifestation which was a huge component to her finding her purpose, becoming a Holistic Wellbeing Coach and having the courage to pursue her dreams. This episode explains what manifestation is, how to do it, the science behind it, where to begin if you're new to manifestation and Kat shares her some of her manifestation success stories. If you're keen on getting started with your manifestation journey and wish to learn the basics then this episode is for you.
Key points covered in this episode:
• Kat explains what manifestation is really about, how it's so much more than just getting your desires and that it's more about self love.
• Kat share's what led her to manifestation, where she learnt how to do it and the reason why many people choose to begin a manifestation journey. The case often being out of desperation, a lack of options and the need for a miracle.
• What manifestation is, how it's based on the law of attraction and that it has been scientifically backed by quantum physics. That our external reality is a reflection of our internal state and how we are constantly manifesting consciously and subconsciously.
• How the law of attraction works and how to apply this to manifesting what you desire. That everything is energy and vibrates on a different frequency, how we manifest things into our reality is by getting on the same frequency as the person who already has the thing they desire.
• Why feeling only into the things you desire does not help you successfully manifest, you need to take the aligned action too alongside doing the inner work and re-writing your limiting beliefs.
• How your reality is created from your beliefs that were formed as a child and before you reached adulthood so when you unpack them and understand that they are only beliefs you can change them and therefore change your life.
• Starting your manifestation journey - start small before you go for the big things, then scale it up as your belief grows for example getting a free cup of coffee!
• When manifesting it's important to engage all your senses in the experience so that it feels like it's already happened and you are sending out that energy.
• Kat share's the story of when she manifested £1000 and how it came from somewhere she never expected!
• The fact that when you've asked for a big manifestation it can feel like everything is going wrong or it's not coming however sometimes everything has to burn away to clear old the old and make way for the new. Your job is to keep your faith strong and stay solid in your belief as this is what will magnetise it to you and any hint of doubt, desperation or clinging will push it further away.

• When you start to open up and express your emotions to a person make sure they are someone you trust that makes you feel safe and who won't judge you so that you train your mind that it's ok.
• To make a start with expressing your feelings, begin small, share something small that you wouldn't normally share and would keep to yourself and then observe how you feel after.
• Remembering that becoming more connected to your emotions and less resistant to your feeling your feelings is a process and takes time, it's like a muscle, it takes time to grow and will be painful for the short term but the long term gains will be worth it.
• How doing this work and getting more in touch with your feminine side, feeling more and expressing more will make you more attractive to women and help you build supportive, happier relationships.

• How sex improves our wellbeing including lowered stroke and heart conditions, reduced stress and the psychological component of sex that helps you feel less alone as you are able to connect to yourself and others.
• The stigma and shame around sex and that when we deny pleasure we are denying access to a part of ourselves. Without honouring and nurturing the sexual part of ourselves we are not truly living as we should as humans.
• The various areas of where the negativity around sex comes from and how we have been psychologically shamed into feeling this way and that we need to break down the negative barriers in order to fully embrace and thrive in our romantic relationships.
• The emotional conduct that should take place in a sexual experience and how casual hook ups are satisfying when the four intimacy styles are present. There needs to be a level of respect, care and consideration for one another.
• How communication is the key element to a successful physical and emotional relationship and being able to honestly express concerns, what your physical and emotional needs are and being willing to listen to your partner.
• The understanding that people change and grow so the person you meet today and the person you are right now will change so in a relationship you must be willing to adapt, communicate and grow together so that you don't grow apart.
• There is no such thing as sexual incompatibility, if you are able to round out your intimacy style and get bonding, giving, release and responsiveness from each of your sexual experiences it's this that creates sexual compatibility which is in it's truest essence, satisfaction.
• The most common issue in relationships which is when you and your partner are on different sexual timescales, when one person wants sex and the other does not but that quality is actually more important than quantity.
• What to do when you enter the 'roommate' phase of the relationship and it feels like you are just friends living together or it starts becoming toxic.
• The benefits of sex toys, when to use them, why you should use them, the health benefits of having regular orgasms and arousal. Having options can take the pressure off of men and create new sexual experiences that add new flavour and spice to the sex you have.

In today's episode of The Wellbeing Wanderer podcast Kat talks about her experience of burnout, overwhelm and stress, shares how she's dealt with it and offers up her top tips.
Key points covered in this episode:
• Kat explains what burnout is, what it feels like and how it happens a lot at work especially in a profession like healthcare where you have to be on your game all the time.
• How the western world compares to other countries and that we live in a fast paced society with a many pressures that lead to us feeling burnt out and stressed.
• Kat shares her experience of living in slower paced countries like Costa Rica and Fiji and how this simple way of life leaves little room for stress and burnout as there are less distractions, stressors and people tend to live longer being surrounded by nature, healthy local food and a strong sense of community.
• How money controls our lives because we need it to survive, feed ourselves and our families however having a lot of it does not suddenly make you happier and solve all your problems and that the happiest people Kat has seen are the people who've had the least. The little money they had provided them with the basic human needs and this was enough.
• Desiring material possessions disconnects you from yourself, makes you work harder for those things and they will only provide you with short lived gratification because they aren't what's important about existing. The western culture has conditioned and programmed us into desiring 'things.'
• How detrimental stress is to your health and wellbeing and how important it is to make choices that minimise stress.
• The advantages of having a stillness practice so that you slow down, connect to yourself, increase your self awareness and therefore be able to make better choices to reduce stress and burnout. Stillness can be doing nothing as well as meditation.
• Kat shares what a stillness practice looks like and invites you to take up a stillness challenge where you perform this for 5 minutes a day for one week. After the week is up she would love for you to reach out to her and share how you feel.
• The deeper a connection you have to yourself, the greater your self awareness and clarity. You get to find space between stimulus and response and choose your reaction rather than blindly reacting.
• How finding the root of your stressors and triggers helps you combat them and if this is proving difficult it might be time to reach out and ask for support.
• The common signs of burnout including feeling constantly exhausted, procrastination, a negative attitude to life and yourself, feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated and dispassionate. When you feel like this it's time to up your self care, slow down, turn the focus on you and find stillness.

In today's solo episode of The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast Kat talks about the importance of having the right friendships and community around you and how this helps boost your sense of happiness and wellbeing.
Key points in this episode:
• The importance of surrounding yourself with the people that add value to your life and make you feel good as we naturally become the 5 people we spend the most time with
• How being part of a supportive community is a huge component to wellbeing as it provides you with a sense of safety, protection and love.
• Kat talks about the 3rd world communities she's witnessed all over the world and that even though it may appear they have nothing they are the happiest people she's ever met because it's the not having much that brings them closer together as a community. They enjoy the company of each other with no desire for materialistic possessions, uncontaminated and they embrace the 'Pura Vida' or 'Pure Life.'
• The fact we are all descended from tribes and have a deeply conditioned programme to fit in, be liked and accepted. Kat explains that being kicked out of the tribe meant death and even though this isn't the case today, that programming is still there.
• How in the western world, we live in a society of people expressing void filling behaviour. We obsess over materialistic things and express addictive behaviour because we have lost the connection to ourselves and what really matters therefore attaching value to objects and not ourselves or each other. We always feel like something is missing which turns into acts of instant gratification and the desire to prove we fit in.
• The love we are all searching for can only be found and created within however being around supportive people can help you heal by boosting your sense of worthiness.
• What to do about toxic people in your life, what to do if you can't walk away from them and how to handle being around toxicity.
• The fact that the more you love yourself, the more bulletproof you'll become because you won't care about what other people think of you.
• How your vibe attracts your tribe and that working on yourself and creating that love for yourself will generate all the good vibes and these will be felt by the people at that same frequency.

In today’s episode Kat speaks to Priestess, medicine woman and Reiki healer Laura Michelle Gray about spirituality. Laura experienced a spiritual awakening in her early teens which has provided her with in depth knowledge and many spiritual downloads. It's made her an expert on helping those on their spiritual journeys and as a consequence she is able to offer up deep healing medicine.
Key points covered in this episode:
• Lau defines what spirit is, that we are all spirit, a part of creation and that it's the essence of God/source/universal intelligence that lives within us therefore we are all spiritual. She also shares her teachings from a medicine man descendant from the Incas in Peru.
• Lau explains the difference between religion and spirituality. How religion is defined by boundaries, limitations, rules and is held by a structure and a teacher to follow however with spirituality it's more about following the teachings and deciding for yourself.
• The concept that ultimately spirituality is a belief in a higher power and your relationship within that belief is personal to you. There are still a lot of boxes within spirituality that many people fall into whether by deliberate choice or by accident but there are no set definitions, only what aligns to you.
• Why love has the power to change the world. That acts of evil or hatred are born out of a lack of love and causes disharmony through our resistance of love and creates negative projections of our pain onto others therefore regaining that love through healing ourselves changes everything.
• Lau dives into what healing is and although there are many ways to heal ourselves, at its core is meeting our darkness with light.
• The greater love, compassion, understanding and acceptance you have for yourself the more love you will let in, the more love will expand all around you and help others to love more too.
• How we need to allow negative emotions to move through us so they don't become trapped, weigh us down and so you can think with a clear, rational mind so you can see the truth and not your emotional projection of it.
• The idea that God/universal intelligence desires for us to live a life of love and peace and the reason we suffer is because we have free will and as a collective we have chosen a path of fear. We as humans are addicted to suffering and to the belief that if we are to grow we must experience hardship however this is not the truth.
• Kat & Lau touch on why we have war and horrors in the world and that it's a reflection of the collective consciousness, which is why raising your own vibration through choosing love over fear can make a difference and provoke positive change for not just your life but for everyone on the planet.
• Lau explains that being born into a chaotic, destructive negative situation is a result of the collective consciousness, not as punishment, karma or a lesson for your greater evolvement.
• The concept that we can let in more love, return to the truth of who we are and find more love and peace through loving ourselves more.

Welcome to The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast!
Today's episode is an introduction to the show, spilling the juice on what it's all about, how it came about and some background on your host and founder of the Wellbeing Wanderer podcast, Kat Burdett.
Kat is a Wellbeing Coach, Radiation Therapist and self love expert who has been on her journey to wellbeing since she was a child...
It always felt like a battle for Kat to be herself, at school she was painfully shy, petrified of judgement from others, deeply insecure and always felt like an outsider.
In her adult life she's suffered depression, self hatred, bullying, verbal and physical abuse, addiction and many other self sabotaging behaviours.
After years of struggle that took her way into her 30's she continued to strive for better and has finally built her confidence up to a place where she can be herself without fearing what others think and love who she is.
Kat has now made it her mission to help lead others to a state of wellbeing, self love and confidence.
