In episode four, I'm talking with the incredibly colourful, resourceful and successful upcycling fashion designer Selina Sanders at selinasanders.com/shop and @selina_sanders

After over a decade of working as a designer in fashion and seeing the massive waste produced by the industry, Selina felt a deep desire to start a clothing line that helps reduce our carbon footprint and is environmentally responsible.

So today, Selina and her team make kaleidoscopic maximalist clothing from carefully sourced from vintage materials, like tea towels, linens, curtains, blankets and quilts.

And In little over two years, Selinas has not only grown her beloved Instagram community from 250 to over 100,000 followers, but she has launched a wildly popular DIY course on Domestika, and her one-of-a-kind creations have been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire and W Magazine.

And over the next 60-minutes you’ll hear Selina and I talk about:

  1. Her creative journey from fast fashion to fashion educator to fashion phenomena.
  2. How being made redundant at the start pandemic was the catalyst for change, she needed to revisit her entrepreneurial spirit.
  3. What can happen when the right influencer promotes your work.
  4. And last but not least, What she had to do to overcome her competitive nature, which was fueling her comparison.
