Therapy taught me about who I was showing up as and why I felt so disconnected from my being. With the right therapist, hard work, and several tools and exercises, I've been able to reconnect with myself and live a life free of people-pleasing and perfectionism (a work in progress still, lol). Creating boundaries and standing firm on them was something my therapist and I worked on a lot.
"Carrying the emotional baggage of others is not your responsibility."
As an empathetic person, it was difficult for me to stand on business because I was already feeling bad for addressing someone who hurt me. Therapy gave me the tools to articulate and protect myself to keep myself emotionally safe, which is now my top priority.

Delusional relationships will prevent you from thriving. It's really as simple as that: the more you put into that relationship with a partner, parent, friend, or coworker who doesn't even show up for you, and you know they are full of shit fr, the less you'll be able to achieve your goals and focus on yourself. You too busy playing the role they made up for you in their head. The question is, when are you gon stop drinking the Kool-Aid and get your head out of they ass and show up for yourself?
We have choices and decisions in this world. You may not have had the choice for them to be in your life, but you can damn sure make the decision to remove yourself! Thrive, friend, you deserve it!

One of Twitter's favorite battles: can you be friends with an ex-partner? In this episode, I share my opinion and examples from my life to justify my reasoning.
Ultimately, there are good people with bad habits who unlearn habits later in life. It's up to you to have them as a friend, but honestly, question your intentions with this. Now for ignorant people with bad attitudes who want you just as miserable as them, the door...

I've been feeling out of my body recently, like I can see myself from outside of my body. I can see myself not totally aligned with who I want to be, but I can tell I'm on the right path. Trusting others has always been difficult for me; between failed friendships, relationships, and connections with coaches or professors, trust is something I don't give out trust and takes A LOT to earn. I've always taken care of myself and rarely relied on others to be there for me; my parents taught my brother and me that we are responsible for our happiness and that being solely dependent on anyone else was a disastrous plan.
While it laid out an excellent foundation for myself, it has also made it very difficult to feel like I can depend on others. I'm basically TOO GOOD and leaving people that I realize I may not even give people a chance, so that's where discernment has come into place. Check out this episode to see how I'm navigating this journey.

I used to push a lot of things under the rug or take things on the chin. All it taught me was to never feel the hurt of others or even myself. Which led me to keep committing to the same cycles of hurt. Creating the space to feel the feels has certainly helped me process things and I’m learning that the process looks different every time. We have good people in our lives that have bad emotional habits, in which case they bleed on us. It hurts, but to grow, we must hold boundaries to let people go. That doesn't mean they have to be gone forever (sometimes they do); they can come back when they've reached a maturity level that doesn't tear you down during moments of miscommunication/misunderstanding. I also touch on self-worth, and how it ties into the shit we tolerate from others--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theinsideperspective/support

What does entering your Villain Era mean to you? Do you know how to put yourself first? In this episode, I examine the structures of the “Villain Era”, the importance of boundaries, and of course sprinkles of my personal experiences.
Sometimes it’s hard to know what boundaries are and how to implement them. It takes discipline and patience to make it happen. I, myself, still battle with recognizing when I need to put a boundary in place! Let alone what it’s supposed to look like. Some boundaries look different depending on an individuals standing in your life. The same boundary you have for a coworker isn't the same you'd have for a close friend/family member. Here, I offer a few instances of boundaries I use in my life, with who, and why.
