Ecumenical Conversation is a podcast exploring the whole range of topics that are current in the work of ecumenical institutions here and around the world. Each month, we will take up one topic and help listeners to see its relevance to our faith and witness in our context and beyond.
The 16th edition of the annual Kota Kinabalu Christmas, dubbed KK Christmas, is coming back this year, breaking away from the traditional Padang Merdeka fairy lights and Christmas trees, and enticing spread of goodies at the field.
The annual Christmas festivities was put on hold in 2020 to comply with the SOP restrictions in place when the nation was gripped by COVID-19. The nation’s easing into the 4th phase of the pandemic provides the perfect timing for the return of this uniquely much-talked about celebration in Malaysia.
It will be celebrated as a hybrid event, a live event, complete with a virtual audience to encourage participation and engagement with the event, no matter where they are.
This is in keeping with the organizers’ aim to support the government’s efforts to continue to curb the spread of the coronavirus by limiting physical participation.
When God created the world, He had a dream for all of us. That dream was always loved. In Genesis 9, He established a covenant with man and “all living creatures”. He did not forget them. When did we?
We envision a world where people are living in oneness with all creation, upholding creation justice, rising up on fire with the mission to advance creation justice and resilience. To do this, we need to grow a global movement of ecological citizens and establish living pathways of creation justice and resilience through building leadership capacity, ecological spirituality education, the ecological movement, and ecological focal points. We invite all people of goodwill to take up the call to ecological conversion and ecological citizenship (LS#217, 211).
