Dr. Rita H. Mumm, Director of Capacity Development and Mobilisation at the African Orphan Crop Consortium (AOCC) and Director of the African Plant Breeding Academy (AfPBA), discussed the 'Promises of genomics and genetics in underutilized crops'.
The dialogue was moderated by Professor Moez Amri, a Geneticist and Professor of Plant Breeding at the Agro-Bioscience (AgBS) program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Morocco.

An event for anyone interested in sustainable diets, whether you're a seasoned vegan or an ambivalent omnivore!
This public webinar on Wednesday 20th October 2021 was organised in collaboration with Cambridge Sustainable Food, as part of the Cambridge Zero Climate Change Festival. The event was designed to give attendees the chance to ask our expert panel their questions on how to eat in a more climate-friendly way.
Topics addressed included the virtues of being vegetarian; how we, as consumers, can influence big corporations and government policy; how to educate children about the climate impact of food; sustainable sea-food; palm oil; soy; traffic-light labelling to indicate carbon footprints; plant versus dairy milks; food poverty and the importance of eating locally-grown food.

Developing smartphone integrated soil sensor for African farmers using artificial intelligence toward sustainable soil diagnosis and crop fertilization.
Food systems are complex, and we can all play a part in ensuring that they are resilient and sustainable. The many pieces that form the food system jigsaw puzzle can fit together as easily as they can break apart, and it is up to us to ensure they remain connected. This video shows us how we can participate in food systems, and ensure that growing populations are fed in harmony with the environment.
