This is not something I will get too much involved in with these podcasts but here I breifly cover a little context of an often missunderstood Biblical letter, 1 John 5:1-4 and help to set that up for you for a wider grasp of what may have been actually going on, at the time. Enjoy!

What is the truth about Thanksgiving?
In this excerpt from the newly published book All the Real Indians Died Off: And 20 Other Myths About Native Americans, authors Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and Dina Gilio-Whitaker
I quoated “Remember what you were taught in grade school? Fleeing religious persecution, the Pilgrims sailed from England, landed on Plymouth rock over two months later, barely survived their first winter. With the help of Squanto and the friendly Wampanoag, who taught them how to exploit the local fish and game, plant corn and squash, and also protected them from other hostile tribes, the band of colonists succeeded in establishing a tenuous foothold at the edge of the North American wilderness. The first Thanksgiving in 1621 was held to celebrate a bountiful harvest with the tribe that helped make it possible.” From:

I reflect on something my 2 year old son said, while he observed the camp fire and the trees. What’s all this really about? What is really happening?

The great question many have asked themselves and others and what that might actually mean for all of us.
I talk here a little bit about what I’ve come to believe about the “Bible” and some things I share with others to help them with their journey in discovering a perspective I have come to have.
An experience that I had in Las Vegas, when I was 17 years old. Followed up with a fun and very important question!
