This episode is a powerful one. With the help of 12 friends, I was able to reflect on reasons why we live. We are in the fight to help everyone. We are in this fight because it breaks our hearts when we hear about people thinking suicide is a good answer. We love you all and we thank you so much for your support, listening, and subscribing.
Thanks to Zuzy Gujda for her arrangements of XO Tour Llif3, Homecoming, and Hallelujah. Also a big thanks to Blue Moon Under as always! Their music can be found here.
See you for Season Two, next month!!!
This episode is quite short, and it talks about bullying and why it’s important to focus on in our communities. Recently a thirteen year-old died by suicide and she was bullied quite harshly. I decided to take a look at bullying alongside the mental health aspect and how bullying works in our school system and where I’ve seen bullying the most.
A huge thank you to Blue Moon Under, our biggest supporter. Supplied us with the great theme “Looking Glass” as the intro and overall LifeSpeak theme and “Tell Me” as outro. Check em out here.

This episode is a 50 minute special on coping skills stories. We see Brooke talk about Depression, Tori talk about an Eating Disorder, and Sam talk about her trauma that she spoke about in Episode 6. It’s important to note here, that all 3 guests are tremendous human beings, we thank them for participating in this special episode. We want everyone to know that there are so many ways to cope, it’s not just bubblebaths and nature walks. Sometimes you need to change your diet, change your clothing style, or it may be as simple as a haircut.
We cannot forget the musical talent of Blue Moon Under, we really appreciate the support from them and the permission to use “Looking Glass” as our intro and “Tell Me” as our outro.
Welcome to December folks! We only have 3 episodes left in Season 1. 9, which will discuss bullying and harassment; 10 which will be dedicated to the discussion of Active vs Passive Suicidal Behavior in depressed teens; f [...]
This episode returns to the short discussion-based type. I [Jack] discuss the different lenses of self-esteem and briefly go over what needs to be different and what should be more important when it comes to your self-esteem. While academics are a huge factor, the social-emotional lens is actually the biggest lens and has a slightly bigger impact. While I do speak quite tangentially, I think this covers a good chunk of how we view self-esteem.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing music “Looking Glass” and “Tell Me” used as intro and outro [respectively]. Please remember to give Blue Moon Under a listen, here.
We want to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving break! We’ll return the following week with an episode featuring Brooke Pfaus, Sam Miele, and Tori Gasper. These guests will speak about coping skills and what worked for them [...]
In this episode, we get a look at WHS Student Sam Miele’s project on “starting the conversation”. Which originally just implied sexual assault/rape, but now seems to include any and every conversation that will help someone get the support they need. We get a look at Sam’s story, what she wants to do to help, and we have a discussion on the politics of our country dealing with these kinds of issues.
As per usual, thank you to Julian Mazzola & Blue Moon Under for their permission to use their brilliant songs “Looking Glass” (intro) and “Tell Me” (outro). Go show them some love, here.
As we continue to move through Season 1, please share with friends, family, and anyone who might be interested in personal stories, mental health, self-care, and the works. We’re not professionals, but it’s more important that you know YOU ARE NOT ALON [...]
In this episode Brooke takes us into her background and how her PTSD affects her. This episode was created pretty much all by Brooke; I (Jack) added in the music (royalty-free, lucky me) and made a nice little intro. Please remember to subscribe and with this episode… Give it a listen, with all your heart.
As always- huge thanks to Julian Mazzola for his permission to use “Looking Glass” by Blue Moon Under, of which he is a member. Check out their music here.
This episode marks the first of the episodes to include music, it is of course- Apple’s royalty-free music loops. It adds more than you’d think to an episode.
As we continue to move through Season 1, please share with friends, family, and anyone who might be interested in personal stories, mental health, self-care, and the works. We’re not professionals, but it’s more important that you kn [...]
This episode returns to the style of personal opinion and personal storytelling. I describe my story, what I’ve been through and why I’m still here and fighting for everyone else’s right to speak on the subject of mental health. I briefly describe my hopes for the podcast, but this is an episode dedicated to what I needed to talk about. This episode is 42 minutes long, due to its nature.
