In this episode I talk about having patience with yourself and others when you have trauma. Triggers and dysregulation can cause you to push good people away. I want to share what I have learned to regulate my emotions and stop my toxic behaviors.
Hello! My name is Mullissa Caroline. I create content around healing your trauma and tools that have helped me along the way.
My hope is to empower you to begin a healing journey or if you are already on one, to gently remind you that you are never failing. Healing is a journey with no finish line and you’re going to have things you thought were healed resurface. Each time though you will find it a little bit easier to bounce back. I am a huge advocate for therapy as well. It can be very helpful to have someone walk with you through your pain.
That being said, I am not a licensed therapist. The content on this channel is just for information purposes. It is not meant to be a replacement for therapy. Therapy is not re-victimization and you are worth having someone help you through your trauma.
Things mentioned in my videos may not work for everyone and that’s totally understandable. Take what resonates and leave what does not.
DISCLAIMER: content on this channel involves themes around sexual violence, domestic violence, child abuse, emotional abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts and abuse of any nature. These videos are for informational and entertainment purposes only and should not be used to diagnose or treat any one. Please seek therapy or help. There’s no shame in that game.
Abuse and trauma does not discriminate and I think when we can start having more conversations around subjects like this, we can know more, and we can save more lives.

But he’s my soulmate! Have you said this?
Me too. This is one part of spirituality that can be dangerous. Especially if you have any old wounds from abuse. Even more so when you have CPTSD like me or you’ve been conditioned to people please at the expense of yourself and your boundaries.
You’ll use this soulmate excuse to continue a relationship that is not good for you. You hope for the “one day they’ll change because we’re meant to be together”.
I’m here to tell you that just because they’re a soulmate does not make them a life partner. Read that again. Sometimes they’re a lesson or a cycle you need to break. This is called karmic relationships in the spiritual world.
We think that we have this one person, one soul, or one being that we will meet and complete us. I’m here to also tell you that you are complete already and you will have so many different levels of soul connections. Not all are meant to stay in your life. Some are only for a season.
As someone that’s been in this type of relationship, I realized that I am worthy of a partner that does not emotionally abuse me and I can leave. You are too. This includes friendships by the way.
If it’s a financial reason for staying, make a safe plan to leave. Ask a friend you trust to help you get out. You’re going to need support and it’s okay to ask for help. Don’t let your pride get in the way.
You deserve way more than what you’re settling for and there is a partner out there that will communicate in a healthy way. That won’t gaslight you when you raise your concerns. That won’t diminish you or make you feel crazy. That will listen and try to work out the issue. I promise these people exist.
I know it sucks because you thought this was it. It’s okay. We all make mistakes. You’re learning. Me too. Take what you learned and process what you didn’t like. Use this to help you determine what your boundaries are moving forward. It’s just data to help you with the rest of your life. Do not shame yourself.
I love you and you got this. Please message me if you need someone to talk to. This community is a safe place for everyone.
