Manifesting (Law of Attraction) and syncretism are increasingly popular today, especially in the business world. These beliefs and practices are even being embraced by many professing followers of Christ. But there is a danger in doing so. In this episode, Bobo takes a look at Exodus 20 and some of the Ten Commandments, particularly the ones dealing with idolatry, rest, and covetousness. Part of cultivating wisdom is the practicing of spiritual discernment. In this case, it's the discernment to know when we are starting to mix other beliefs with the true worship of God. In this episode, Bobo leads a discussion on Abram in Genesis 13 and 14. Soon after receiving clarity on the vision God had for him, Abram was tested from within and from without. First there was an issue related to asset management with his nephew Lot, who ended up in the midst of a geo-political nightmare. There is much to be learned about stewardship. Second, there was an issue with two kings: the king of Salem and the king of Sodom. One blessed Abram while the other tried to negotiate with him, getting him to forego seeking God's vision for an immediate win. God desires that the work we do bring about renewal. Where there is death and decay, we can bring about life and flourishing. Where there is confusion, we can bring about clarity. Where there is corruption and injustice, we can bring about justice and mercy. And we can do so specifically through our work, through the businesses we start and develop. Regardless of what happens in the broader society, we have the opportunity to be faithful to the Lord through our work.
If you think about it, we often spend 40+ hours a week devoted to our jobs and our work and only 2-3 at church. So we actually have more opportunity to serve and please God through our work each week. Our work can and should be a means of worshipping the Lord, of offering a sacrifice to Him. In this episode we look at the story of Cain and Abel from Genesis 4 and the topic of "work-worship" in relation to their various offerings to God. He only accepted one of theirs. We will be discussing some tangible ways you can integrate your work into worship.

The names comes from Proverbs 1:20 in the Old Testament where wisdom is personified as a lady walking through the busy marketplace, calling out to whomever had ears to hear her voice and willingness to apply her message. Wisdom is still calling today and needed more than ever.
What exactly does it mean to be created in the image of God? In this episode we are going to discuss God's creation of mankind and the unique distinction we are humans have over plants and animals and why that matters. Much of our current laws and ethics originate with this reality of image bearers and this has massive implications for our lives and work.
In this episode we consider Genesis chapter 1 and God's creation of the cosmos and human beings. We are reminded that He alone is God and we are not, a reality we need to be constantly reminded of in our busy professional lives. Many moderns try to create their own god out of a mixture of various religions and world views. But the Creator demands worship in Him alone, a worship warranted when we take time to consider his handiwork in creation. We are able to create and bring order because He first created.
The reality that work in and of itself is not a curse is pretty countercultural today. It’s commonplace to gripe and complain about having to go to work. Our jobs, though necessary for income, seem only to get in the way of our weekends and vacations. What is your current attitude regarding work in general? How does your job or career in particular play into this mindset? In this episode we discuss work and productivity as part of God's purposeful design for us.
Some Christians don’t observe a day of rest because they think they can’t afford to take a day off, that work still needs to be done, or that less economic production will be detrimental to their goals or to the expectations others have of them. But this mentality couldn’t be further from the truth. Deeply rested people are the most productive. In this episode we look at Genesis 2 and God the Creator resting from His work in creation, setting up a pattern for His image bearers to embrace and utilize as a gift from Him.
